delicious italian in dublin
Best restaurant in Dublin!! Beyond excellent food and so accommodating when we were late for our booking. Absolutely cannot recommend enough. Miguel was also extra helpful in securing us a taxi and preparing a takeaway tiramisu for us! Must go!!!!!

Amazing meal in Grano in Stoneybatter. Attentive staff and mouth watering, delicious food. Fantastic value for money in this wonderful, authentic Italian restaurant.
Be the first to ReplyPortions way too small
Cozy place indeed. The dinner tasted very well. Nevertheless, the portions were rather way to small for these very high prices. We went there, believing that one would get a little bit more to eat. For this reason, I find this place disappointing.

The best Cacio e Pepe I tried in Dublin. Fresh pasta. Great wine The price is a bit high but the food is gorgeous

From the moment we entered Grano we knew that we were in for a treat. Greeted promptly and warmly and shown to our table. We were a table of 5 so opted to share some starters - the meatballs were definitely the winner here. The special of the night was tempting so I had that and was very happy with my simple pasta filed with a slow cooked dry ragu and topped simply with parmesan. My friends were all happy with their choices. We shared desserts and the Tiramisu was the hands down hit of the night. Not usually a dessert I'd have - but this was beautiful. The only quibbles of the night were on the drinks side - one of our party doesn't drink alcohol and there was only 1 non-alcoholic choice and it wasn't nice. All the wines were expensive. And when we ordered water we were presented with bottled water when we simply wanted tap water - I hate when restaurants do that. Small quibbles which certainly didn't mar a lovely dining experience.

My wife an I had a memorable meal here. Really fresh pasta with an extensive wine list. Friendly, welcoming staff and great servive. A gem.
Be the first to ReplyI'd heard mixed reports about the service in this restaurant
So we wanted to see for ourselves. Unfortunately the pasta was tasteless, and the waiter extremely slow and rude. Avoid
Be the first to ReplyBest italian in Dublin and it ain't close
Visited Grano for dinner last night. I'm a big fan of Italian food and I have no doubt that this is my favourite place in Dublin so far out of many restaurants. The small bites and starters were the highlight with lots of fresh high quality bread on the side. The fried rice balls blew my mind! The pastas for the main were also excellent and the tiramisu was the best I've had too. Combine this with the legendary Italian waiters, homely feel and views of pasta being made before you as you eat and you can't go wrong!! Make sure you book well in advance too. A1!
Be the first to ReplyWow! A great little gem
Italian restaurant with pasta dishes not typical in most restaurants. Excellent fresh pasta dishes from a southern region (did quite figure out what our waiter was telling us about his home town). First you must make a reservation and it is well worth it. Small restaurant fills up quickly and everyone has a reservation. My spinach pasta dish filled with ricotta cheese was served in a nice butter sauce and pistachios. My husband had a pasta dish with asparagus, cream, and hazelnuts. Both incredible. This would be a favorite restaurant if I lived in Dublin. Luckily here for a month so able to return.

Excellent experience. Small room so booking recommended. We had two appetisers to share, both of which were pretty spicy but served with excellent toasted breads. My main was tagliatelle with a pork ragu and my companion had the gnocchi special both of which were pretty good. We had a bottle of the house red, Sensa Dubbio, which was very acceptable all the more so because it was a litre bottle which was just the right amount. Recommended.

The waiting staff were extremely welcoming and friendly, explaining the menu and wines.
The food was delicious, we had spicy spreadable sausage with toasted crostini for starters (€6.50) which was delicious. I had the special 'Balanzoni' which was green tortellini-like pasta stuffed with ricotta and mortadella, with butter, sage and pistacchio. I savoured every bite. The deconstructed cannolo for dessert was fabulous.
A gorgeous quaint restaurant. It's size and layout make for a very cosy, dining experience. Thoroughly recommend and cannot wait to return.
Disappointing
Had heard great things about this restaurant but felt let down leaving. We had some lovely light bites that arrived soon after we ordered but it took an hour then before we got our starters. The starters were very tasty, I had the meatballs and they were full of flavour in a delicious sauce.
I had the Ziti for my main. It was way overdone and was breaking apart. It was sloppy and I didn't enjoy it at all. My partner had the special, the ravioli was beautifully cooked but the mussels were completely over done. The bisque sauce was very tasty.
After being left for almost an hour at the start before getting our starters, the waitress then hovered over us to get the table back and our desserts and coffee arrived within a minute of being ordered.
We enjoyed our evening and there is a nice ambiance but seems the kitchen took their eye off the ball on the night of our visit.
Lovely Food and Experience
Really great find in Northside Dublin. Would recommend for dinner with friends - it can get quite busy so booking advised.

I’ve been back here a few times now and it never disappoints! The food is amazing, service is so good and atmosphere is so nice. I am a coeliac and the staff were so knowledgeable and careful when it came to my meals. I had a great selection of meals that they would adapt for me! Will be back again as always!

Our firs time here and I have to say one of the best Italian meals we’ve had. It’s small venue so you have to book a good bit in advance. All the pasta is freshly made. They have a very good selection of wines mainly sourced from Calabria. Would highly recommend this restaurant
Be the first to ReplyExcellent service, delicious food
A wonderful experience for a birthday meal at Grano. Italian food is often difficult for me as I have a serious food allergy to eggs but the staff made the whole experience easy and delightful. I was offered different options for each course and each one was delicious. The service was very friendly and we thoroughly enjoyed our evening here.

Beautiful food and great selection of interesting wines ! The service is brilliant and all the waiters are so friendly and accommodating ! I couldn’t recommend more I have had many dishes there from seafood pasta to vegetarian dishes and all have been faultless ! The starters are always delicious and different I’ve had octopus and swordfish caponata. The deserts are amazing we have both the chocolate mousse with peaches and the watermelon and mint panacotta . I couldn’t recommend this place more !

Starters were very poor, the server forget the bread that accompamied one starter, we chose the burrata but when it arrivd was only half a burrata and wasnt served with any bread/salt/olive oil. I found this unusual for Italian restaurant. The mains were expensive and didnt deliver on flavour, the butternut squash pasta shouldn't be 20€ for a veggie dish, again the service didnt ask if we wanted more parmesan. The setting was nice, chrismassy vibes but wont be visiting again
Be the first to ReplyBest meatballs around.
Had a delicious meal in grano right just before the lockdown. Iv eaten meatballs all over the world and these where by far the best iv ever tasted, I'd go back just for the meatballs alone. The rest of the meal was very tasty, simple easy recipes made delicious by good authentic Italian cooking. Service was also very good, nice people who seemed easy going and good at chatting to people, think she was a Spanish girl. Only bad point I'd say is that the wine list is very expensive besides that was a lovely meal.
