So so good! One of the best and oldest pizzerias in Napoli! We had the fried pizza which was amazing and also a spicy salami one - that dough is just so soft and light! The place itself was full of hustle and bustle and the staff were full of smiles.

This was my reason for coming to Napoli, the birthplace of pizza! So you can imagine that I had very high expectations! We came early, as we were there a few minutes after open time. They sat us upstairs as downstairs was packed already. The place is nice, and modern with Italian charm and character. We were promptly served by our server, who brought us our drinks and gave us recommendations. I went for the original, Margherita with Bufala cheese and we also ordered the Rodolfo. I have no words to describe how good the pizzas were! Outstanding!! I don't know if is the quality of the product but the San Marzano tomatoes and the buffalo cheese were out of this world! And the dough...sooooo insanely good! Coming to Napoli just to try the pizza is completely worth it! Oh, and our waiter was so nice! He brought us limoncello and babà as dessert so we could try it out. Overall, the best pizza I ever had!

Also in a great and fun location. A must see in Naples!

The. Best. Ever. Fabulous pizza, uses regional artisanal ingredients -- cheeses from Sorrento, meats from the province, their own beer. Make a reservation, don't just show up. Be patient. Yeah, the line is long. For a reason. Relax, enjoy the experience. We always have great service.

A little easier to get in than other places but just as good if not better. We ended up coming here twice. First visit was for the classic pizzas - the margarita and the marinara. Super thin crust on the bottom with the light and fluffy edges. The sauce was sweet from the local San Marzano tomatoes. This is definitely knife and fork pizza. I know a lot of Americans dont like this kind of pizza but it was really spectacular! The second time we tried the anchovy pie (I believe it was the Antonio) and a pie designated Slow Food with a spicy salami and goat cheese. I wish I could remember what that was called but regardless, excellent. If you go to Naples, put this on your list. You wont regret it.

Sorbillo stood out as the highlight of our Naples trip, and it easily ranks among the best pizzas I've ever had. The pizza menu is extensive, offering something for every palate. However, we went for the classic Margherita. While the Margherita may seem simple, each ingredient was fresh and high quality. The dough, in particular, was amazing, not overly charred like most Neapolitan pizzas. My recommendation is to go with the slightly more expensive Margherita option, which includes higher-quality cheeses.

This is the pizzeria all the guidebooks and websites and Bill Clinton seem to recommend, so we decided to give them a try! Their pizza was really good, but not in any different league than other pizzerias here, and definitely not the best we had while in Naples (that crown goes to detail-obsessed OWAP, so far, who came recommended by our Neapolitan host). But the experience dragged it all down ... and I am not talking about having to endure the wait outside the door. We were ushered to a ridiculous canteen plastic table squeezed to the side facing a staircase wall. The acoustics were pretty bad in the old stone domed hall, but they threw kitschy Italian music and a guitar player on top of it, making any sort of conversation a pain. Service was brusque, knowing there were 50 people outside waiting for their place in the sun. Plastic cups for our drinks and dollar-store cutlery, despite charging 2€ coperto. And it wasn't just our table, the whole place is getting crammed to the brim. So - pizza very good but not the best; experience bad; threwn together that's 3/5? I won't be back.
Be the first to ReplyThe pizza is definitely five stars.
The things that aren't five star are out of the restaurant's control. The insane line is one and the cramped (because of the mass of people they must serve) interior is another. The staff never stop. Hats off to them. My pizza was perfect. I can't think of anything I would have changed. It was head and shoulders above the others I tried along the Via Della Pizza. If you get there early you have a better chance at lighter throng. I got there 15 minutes after opening an was seated immediately. If you try to go at 8:00pm on a Saturday, good luck.

Our waiter Simon was great! We heard this place had the best pizza in Napoli. we were all disappointed, the pizza was crappy the wine tasted swampy, and we had a problem with the bill and the owner was a total ass about it! Would not recommend! The mixed salad was the only good thing, how can you mess up lettuce?

We ended up here after researching the best pizza and it did not disappoint. It is a great pizza. The service could be better and stop suggesting the more expensive pizzas.

Be the first to ReplySorbillo has authentic Napolitana Pizza.
It is super busy, so be prepared to wait in line. It was great, no real issue... but I had a lot of pizza in Naples, so there is no good reason to wait in an hour + line to be served pizza in a loud (very loud) restaurant. If you do not have to wait long, great. go for it.

Amazing pizza! We did a trip to Naples and tried a few pizzas around. This was definitely the best tasting one! We got the margarita with buffalo mozzarella and I wish I had enough room to try more pizza from this restaurant!
Be the first to ReplyReally bad service.
Long crowd and the staff is incapable of organizing a line. People selecting the clients are rude and unable to tell when you are next because they have multiple lists. Finally went inside and the pizza was no better than the other restaurants in the same street. I would not recommend this bad experience.

The pizza at Sorbillo is phenomenal! My wife and I recently visited and tried the Rodolfo and the Salvatore. Both pizzas had soft warm crust. The Rodolfo was topped with crisp arugula, flavorful salty prosciutto, and juicy plum tomatoes. The Salvatore was topped with flavorful tomato sauce, spices, and tender mushrooms. This was some of the best pizza I have had in Italy and is a must visit.

I asked a local where to go for the best pizza in Naples and he suggested this place. The prices are very, very reasonable and the food is spectacular. I loved the fried pizza and arancini. I heard that the lines get very long here, but we visited right at opening and we were the first in line! I definitely recommend this place!

Long line when we arrived but we were seated within 20 minutes. The pizza was absolutely delectable! My family of 4 polished off 3 pizzas and agreed that the bufalo maguerita was the favorite. Don't miss if you're in Napoli!

Don't walk, RUN here!! Best pizza I've ever had and very sad to see they closed their shop in New York during Covid but oddly that one is not well recommended compared to this original. The pizza was absolutely divine and definitely get a pie with red sauce. So so good, and lines can get up to two hours around 8pm on a Friday night as witnessed passing by later. We went at 5pm and got seated promptly but the restaurant was already 80% full at that time. A must in Naples!!!

I'm starting to understand and really love, Neopolitan people, cuisine, and their city Italy.
Be the first to ReplyI was debating how to rate this.
The pizza and service was definitely 5 stars, but after my Italian friend (who happens to be a pizzaiolo from Napoli) told me that Sorbillo is the best pizza in Napoli and probably the world, I expected a life-changing experience. After trying Napoletana pizza in several of the top places across the US I already have a high standard for good pizza. Although I would agree that Sorbillo is better than all the places I've tried in the US, in the end I feel like I hyped it up too much. It wasn't a whole new experience, it was just really good pizza. As far as the service, all the staff was very friendly (except the guy at the door, who was a little aloof) and the all spoke English. My wife and I ordered three pizzas and asked the waiter to confirm they were vegetarian. He said if you want vegetarian get the margherita and mozzarella di bufala, pomodorini e pesto. Then he said if you want a third after that then you can order one. At first I thought "who's this guy telling me how much to order." But if turns out he knew exactly what he was talking about. Two pizzas is enough for two people, maybe even for three people. One last note for anyone visiting Italy from the US: the Fanta in Italy is so much better
Be the first to ReplyWe were looking for the original Gino Sorbillio but this
We were looking for the original Gino Sorbillio but this place was a couple store fronts ahead. Just be careful if you are wanting to have the more famous Gino Sorbillo everyone talks about which is right next to this one. This place was much much less crowded than the mob next store so we decided to go here instead. Our order was taken in 2 minutes, and our pizza was out in 5. The pizza was really great, with super light and chewy dough, with a nice char on the crust. I'd recommend just sticking with the original margarita pizza. This place was pretty much as good as the more prominent Gino Sorbillo, which we tried immediately after eating here, and honestly with the 30-45 min wait there that is somewhat chaotic, I almost recommend this place more.

We made a special trip to Naples just for the pizza and was referred here by our driver who was born and raised in Napoli. Absolutely amazing! Best thing we ate in our 9 days travelling all over southern Italy!

As someone who is a big pizza critic, Sorbillo's Pizza blew my mind away. I never thought I would say that there is a flawless pizza on this planet, but my thoughts changed after taking my first bite of a pizza from Sorbillo's. From the first bite of their most famous Margherita pizza, I tasted the top quality of their cheese and their sauce, in addition to the game-changing dough. The dough of this pizza was the quintessential factor of the pizza, as it was the perfect texture; soft but not too soft, and not too tough. In addition to the food, the customer service was great, the wait times were very reasonable, and the prices were unbeatable. I recommend anyone who visits Napoli to stop by Sorbillo's. They will not regret it.
Be the first to Replyi got the artichoke pizza and had it to go.
we found a tiny set of stairs in front of a museum to eat. we tore it apart with our hands because we forgot to find utensils but it was ultimately delicious. the tomatoe sauce was sweet and the artichoke was succulent
