Had a really nice lunch here today with friends and celebrating a birthday. After a fun and energetic Zumba class at the Y next door, we all trooped in here just steps away. Very convenient and appreciated the proximity especially since it's cold today and skies are grey so it was nice to get inside. The interior feels cozy, had plenty of seating and was actually not too crowded - it was a little after noon.Their menu is extensive with lots of options ranging from Thai to Chinese, Japanese and Korean dishes. Lots of rice and noodle dishes. They also have sushi. I tend to get salmon a lot when I eat out and today was no different. They do have different kinds - miso, teriyaki and simply seared - I got the latter with steamed white rice. It was great - nice crispy on the outside and tender inside and well seasoned. It came with bok choy which was perfectly cooked. I appreciated the wedge of lemon and squeezed it all over the salmon and veggies and it was all really tasty. It's a decent sized portion and I could have potentially finished it but decided to leave some so I'll have leftovers to enjoy another yummy meal. The hubs got the kung pao chicken with rice and thought it was okay, not really authentic. Others liked their food I think - chicken fried rice, veggie bento, veggie sushi and Thai red curry.Service was a bit slow in the beginning- we waited a while before they came to take our order even though the restaurant wasn't too busy. But the food came out quickly and our waters were filled adequately. For the birthday girl, they brought out a small warm molten chocolate cake with spoons for everyone and it was so amazing. I usually don't have much of a sweet tooth and almost didn't try it, but I'm glad I got a small bite - it was soo warm and soft, gooey and delicious and wasn't too sweet. Very decadent!!Overall nice birthday lunch with friends and will be back to try other dishes!
Be the first to ReplyHad the Symphony pad thai with chicken.
The dish was overall too sweet; the dish was touted as being more flavorful, but I'm not sure that that made it any better. There needed to be more bean sprouts in the dish, and in general needed more complexity. The peanuts were a good touch though. The makimono salmon was delicious though on some level rather ordinary. The accompanying spring roll didn't have enough veggies inside.Initially music was too loud but got better at end.Ginger Exchange had its heyday when it opened in Inman a decade ago, but I question whether they were are thinly spread out too thinly. I do prefer their sushi rice now though compared to before.
Be the first to ReplyExtremely disappointed.
Placed a Grubhub order from here and only the delivery was right. Ordered fresh rolls and asked to replace the peanut sauce with sweet and sour sauce due to a food sensitivity. I got the peanut sauce. I also ordered Pad Thai, asking for no peanuts again and to add vegetables for an extra charge, got peanuts and no vegetables. Clearly the requests were not read, so if you have food sensitivities or allergies, beware! Fresh rolls are bland with no sauce and Pad Thai has peanuts, so that's a problem! Did I mention this experience was a major let down?

The waiter spilled a flight of beer on me and still charged me for it. That was two years ago. I went back this weekend and the meat that I ordered was raw inside. This place sucks.I don't recommend it.

Main dish was good, but the appetizer I got ( edamame) has gone bad (sour), it was added tons of salt to cover. The tip already added to the bill, convenient for some, but some might feel being tricked to add more tips.
Be the first to ReplyThe star of this restaurant is their Korean fried chicken.
They could sell only this and they would do ver well. Sushi and noodle dishes were average, but the soy garlic chicken is so good! The restaurant doesn't put much emphasis on this. Had it not been for a last minute appetizer order we would have missed out. The waiters should be telling everyone to order it.

We had to get an a little earlier than I wanted to but reservations were very important. I did find that the place filled up very quickly and they did have some great choices and a really nice staff and repair a ton of Chinese. I thought that the food was good the pricing was in the middle of what I would expect and it was right around the symphony which was awesome because we could go right from there to our show. Overall great little place nice and warm good space receiving a very different kind of menu which offered lots of different options and although I would've loved to have a little bit more options as far as the way the sushi was done and presented I think overall was excellent so I gave it four stars hopefully everybody has as much fun as we did there it's great little place to meet your friends and have a little fun.
Be the first to ReplyI came here on Thursday before a show at the symphony.
Overall food was good. Big problem... I just checked my credit card and they increased the tip themselves! This is stealing! I can't imagine how many people it happens to where they just increase their tip and expect nobody to notice. I am waiting to hear back from the manager and will keep you guys posted on how this plays out. I liked my food and the service was just ok. So this is either a bad apple or a shady establishment....I don't care how big or small the value is you should not steal from customers.

Came here with a group of 6 (including me) and we had to wait 25min+ for a table despite the host saying it would be 10-15min. My bulgogi bibimbap bowl was good, nice and hot! However the meat wasn't as hot as the rice and veggies. Overall, would go again! It's just a bit pricey in my opinion.
