Excellent food.
Margaritas are top-notch. Nice people. Service is a little relaxed-pace at times, but this isn't the kind of place you want to rush. The interior's really welcoming and the street invites a little shopping before or after.

I am so late on writing this review, but let me say that this was a highlight of our eating on our trip to SoCal! My husband and I were visiting Anaheim in October last year and were craving some good Mexican food one night. We tried visiting 2 other places but we could tell from entering that the service was lacking. Boy am I glad we did not go to those restaurants because we would have missed out on the gem that Gabbi's is! I was having allergies that night and we were originally going to be sat near the street, but once my husband expressed this, they gladly moved us to a seating area inside. I appreciated that! We got the best waiter, Horacio! He was kind, helpful, knowledgeable, friendly, and really helped to make our experience a great one! We got chips and salsa initially, of course (we're Texans and this is just par for the course lol) and that was delicious. The salsa was fresh and in our top 5 of best salsas we've had at a restaurant. The chips were perfectly salted, beautiful, and delicious! Our meals were great and we devoured them! I had the pollo tacos on corn tortillas (nix the queso fresco due to a dairy allergy) and my husband had the enchiladas de camarones and ate it quickly. We'd gotten there toward the end of the night and the service didn't suffer from that fact. If we lived in SoCal, we'd have come back repeatedly! Thank you, Horacio, and thank you Gabbi's for an excellent meal and experience! :)

Prices are a bit much for what you get and its near the circle, and we live near, so we really dont get there because of parking and crowds, Blue Agave is a better choice.
Be the first to ReplyCool ambiance but group tables are tight.
Can't weak charging for chips and salsa. In house made tortillas are great and cocktails are best in the circle. Fancy Mexican bs traditional family style around the corner. Fun date night

The ambiance was alright, but the food left something to be desired. However, the service was good. Overall, I don't think I'll be returning

We had an unexpected experience celebrating my birthday, the "Cellar" the service, food and ambiance were awesome! It's nice having a private party in that cozy cellar, I plan to do it again!
Be the first to ReplyI had lunch here today with my mom, while visiting OC.
I hadn't been here in about 10 years and it was just as good as I remember. Besides the food being delicious (mole enchiladas yummmm) I want to highlight the impeccable service we experienced from McKenna. Not only was the actual service wonderful, but she was absolutely a delight; so friendly, and went above and beyond to make sure we were happy and taken care of. This reminded me of the old days when going to a restaurant was a pleasure and an experience. The level of service has declined across-the-board at most restaurants, retail, cafes etc , so this was a very much appreciated experience that actually made me want to come back. It is obvious that McKenna loves what she does and will make an amazing manager, and perhaps future owner of her own restaurant. Thank you for the awesome service! See you next time :)

I had dinner here with my family for my moms birthday and it was delicious! Made reservations ahead of time since it was Easter but it wasn't bad at all. Our waiter was nice as well. I think it might be a Oaxaca restaurant simple because they offered Oaxaca cheese and mezcal and not a lot of restaurants offer either of those. For appetizers we had queso fundido and guacamole which were both good. I preferred the queso fundido and im not a big fan of cheese but it was the best cheese I've ever had. My gorditas were delicious, they were pork so they tasted like Al pastor and had pineapple in them as well. Definitely going to be returning soon

Be the first to ReplyLove this place while visiting Orange.
Went twice and really enjoyed the food and interesting people.
Be the first to ReplyPlace has gone down hill in the last couple years.
Come in on a Monday night with tables open and they tell us an hour wait drinks are alright but for $15 they should be. Sorry Gabbi's we'll be going to Tempo instead now.
Be the first to ReplyGreat Ambiance.
Nice date spot. The food is not what you'd expect as "Mexican". It's a Latin fusion vibe that is gourmet. Great drinks. Just an overall enjoyable place to dine.
Be the first to ReplyOur last visit was on Sat, February 25th.
We ended up here as a last-minute destination. We had eaten here a few times before. Goos was okay, I was expecting more from a Michelin Star Restaurant. Food is original and well crafted together. However, in my personal opinion, just not Michelin. The cocktail menu on the table is clearly old and had a few rips on it, subpar of Michelin or high-end restaurant. Service good however also subpar of high-end. On particular recollection of our lunch was, I ordered the appetizer Taco de Papa (potatoes) and I pronounced it 100% correctly, the also Spanish speakers server correct me and asked me if I "wanted the potatoes tacos". I was a bit sarcastic when I replied, "NO, I want the Tacos de papa advertised on the menu" (the may be actually be taquitos). Cute place and ambiance for dates and cocktails are good and some original cocktails. I always appreciate that in nicer bars/restaurants. Overall, a FOUR STAR review is well worth my personal opinion. Definitely overpaid for the experience. However, this is not a review based on cost. Anyone dining at a high-end restaurant is expected to pay a higher bill, I'm just not 100% convinced my experience was worth the total amount paid.
Be the first to ReplyWent here with a group this past Saturday for a birthday.
had some thoughts i'd like to share because the pricing of the food felt outrageous for snack-portions. I was charged an extra $2 for a tiny glob of sour cream and I was afraid to ask for extra salsa out of fear it would be another charge. the food was just okay, just tiny portions, and how ridiculous to charge for something like that to make a profit. no chips and salsa for the table either.Had a group of 7 (dropped to 6) and we were seated out in the sidewalk with two propane mini heaters on the side. A manager came over to "move the heater away from the table" and actually shut off the heater, which made us feel so cold. we asked... I seriously kid you not... 4 additional times for someone to turn the heater back on. not one person accommodated us throughout our entire 1.5 hour dinner (or snack), and we asked at least 3 different people to help. We mentioned it was a birthday and no acknowledgement from our server. Once our meal was over, we were left in the cold (and rain) for 20 mins-- literally watching the clock for our server to pick up the check/card and run it for us. Also keep in mind-- they add gratuity (20%) for groups and a service charge (3%), but we got such bad service. for sure left a bad taste in our mouth. Forgotten, no one reignited the heater (so freezing), and ridiculous up-charging. Can confidently say we won't be returning. We all joked about needed a second dinner.

This place is great if you want a more fancy mexican place for a dinner or special event. They have good service and the food is excellent. It does get crowded so you need to get there early or make reservations.

We sat at the bar for a last minute Monday night date night! We had an amazing time talking to the bartender enjoying the great chips salsa and guac and fabulous cocktails then had our carnitas dinner! Everything was awesome, can't wait to go back!
Be the first to ReplyDrinks were great and the food was mostly good.
The mole tostadas and steak were delicious but i wouldn't recommend the pozole verde, it lacked flavor. Service was bad , our server Alicia left not much to be desired and made our overall experience there negative.

We were really excited to try something new, saw the Michelin star poster and looked forward even more. The service was terrible regardless of the quality of the food which ruined our overall experience. Our server Alicia was enthusiastic with every table except ours. We are not difficult customers at all and came in with a great hopeful outlook on a new restaurant. It almost felt like our server felt we did not belong there (we were dressed just as nice as everyone else and were polite the entire time despite the service we received). She took much longer to attend to us versus other tables. She checked on other tables about an average of three times before she checked on ours. Everything food wise was good except the pozole verde (no flavor at all). Mole tostadas were great and the arrachera. Sadly we are not coming back due to the service.

Be the first to ReplyWe usually love Gabbi's.
We haven't been in awhile so we made a reservation for Sunday family lunch, party of 5. This became the meal of waiting! We waited 10 minutes to be seated. We waited awhile for our server to even stop at our table. Then we waited at least 15 minutes for our chips/salsa and guacamole. We ordered 2 cocktails only, this took awhile and they were not that great. I ordered the shrimp enchiladas...the shrimp were over cooked and tough plus the entree itself was barely warm-Weird. Once we finished we AGAIN waited a long time for the check and when it came my credit card was missing so we had to find the server who had my card in her apron. The experience was not good.
