Great authentic Mexican
Great Mexican off the circle in orange. Nice ambience internally with a fun relaxed vibe. Home made chips and salsa are excellent (note there is a small charge so you need to ask for them). Empanada to start with was not the normal dough but more filo like which made the ratio of filling (shrimp) to dough better, highly recommended. Carnitas with home made tortillas was excellent. Great service. Cocktails were great. Great dinner location.
Be the first to ReplyNo Tex Mex here
This is the real Mc Coy for Mexican food No Tex Mex here. We have been to this restaurant on many occasions when we visit from Spain. It never fails. Same superb quality as always. Good food no matter what you choose and excellent margaritas. This time we had the gorditas de pastor, the mole tostaditas and the shrimp tacos. Keep it up. Orange should be proud to offer such good Mexican dishes. Enhorabuena.
Be the first to ReplyGabbi's scratched that itch.
As a family we only had a short trip to the States and one of my great joys when travelling in the US is Mexican food. I will tell you Gabbi's did not disappoint. The food was carefully prepared, looked great on the plate and tasted fantastic. The two biggest hits of the night were the esquites (grilled corn) and the alhambre taco. The corn was so wonderfully savoury with a strong smokey flavour. The restaurant is a lovely space and the waitstaff was wonderful. In short it was perfect. Sad that they don't have one in Toronto.

Authentic and tasty Mexican, nice margaritas, good service and fun ambiance. Had the enchiladas and they were a large portion & very good!
Be the first to ReplyMichelin recognized Mexican spot
Michelin-recognized Mexican spot. Came here with my parents for an early dinner on a Sunday. We made a reservation online in advance and got seated immediately. Indoor and outdoor seating available. Restrooms are available inside to the left (past the kitchen). Credit cards accepted. Vegetarian options are available. Free parking available on the street or in the city parking lots. We started with the queso fundido with chorizo. It was interesting that the cheese was solid as we were expecting some melted cheese, but it paired well with the chorizo on top. It came with flour tortillas on the side. For entrees, it’s not family style. I had the mole coloradito enchiladas and also tried the carnitas nortenas and Puebla tacos. I know that the mole is a popular thing to get but I preferred the carnitas nortenas more (perhaps because it came with chicharron).
Be the first to ReplyGreat food, spotty service
We had an interesting experience. The food was delicious, and our server was nice, but there were several issues. We ordered cocktails, apps, and entrees at the same time. One app came out wrong - it was not what we ordered. When the correct one came, our entrees were delivered literally 60 seconds later. One of the entrees was also not what I ordered. By the time the correct one came out, the other 3 people were half done their entrees. By this point we STILL had not received our cocktails. And our waters hadn’t been refilled. They finally refilled waters and brought our cocktails shortly after entrees arrived. Waiter said he would make up for it with dessert. After we finished the entrees (everything we had was wonderful), our waiter asked about dessert and we were stuffed, so politely declined. He told my husband, “don’t worry I will take care of it on the check.” But then he brought out 3 desserts, and the bill also still had all the drinks on there. This made us all laugh. We didn’t complain, but this was all a little crazy and disappointing for a Michelin-star restaurant. If the cocktails had come out at a normal time we probably would’ve each had at least 2. Oh well!

Awesome restaurant recognized in Michelin Guide. Food and service outstanding. Location is quaint.

Very Expensive for what you get. Ordered a vodka tonic and got vodka with flat club soda. Our waiter didn’t understand so I Switched with Sangria. The food had limited options that wouldn’t burn the skin off your tongue so I stuck with Chips. The bill came and I it included both drinks! Ugh. Paid the bill $49!! Best part of the evening was being with family. Wish we had gone to 3 Roots Mexican Cocina…next time

Good food, reasonable service. Just keep in mind this isn't Del Taco. Bring your wallet. But enjoy and savor the flavor.
Be the first to ReplyHIGHLY recommend this amazing joint!
We are from Vegas and very familiar with good food and service! Our servers were both on point with our orders and the food was amazing! Look forward to coming back soon :)
Be the first to ReplyBEWARE-Extremely disappointed that a "kitchen appreciation fee" was added to my bill
The food was expensive but good. It was $18 for my two tacos at lunch, drinks are about $12. Our server did a fine job, and we had a nice meal. When the bill came, I lost it. I was extremely disappointed that a Michelin Star restaurant would feel the need to add a "Kitchen Appreciation Fee" to the bill. I had to Google it to see what it was. Basically, it's an added fee that supposedly goes to the kitchen staff to subsidize low wages they are being paid. Are you kidding me? This place is busy and has high prices. They don't want to pay their employees a decent wage and are passing it off to their customers. SOOO shady. Most people probably wouldn't even notice it. It's an extra 3% of the bill. SO WRONG! I did not pay it and will not return.
Be the first to ReplyPozole - My Favorite Soup Got Watered Down Today
One great find at this restaurant is pozole, a green soup with clams, hominy corn, shrimp, fish, and raw avocado. The green in the soup comes from the grinding of Serrano chili and green tomatillos. The background taste of this soup is a tasty, seafood stock. It’s very, very good.
I would usually come to this restaurant and order one soup for there and two orders for to go. Today, what I got was this same soup with the fish, shrimp, and everything else but the soup stock was basically water and some lime juice. They managed to put in a clam that didn’t opened up also. (If I would be so bold to ask that the fresh arugula that is put on top of this soup be picked off of old, yellow leaves before putting them in for future orders.) Today, this soup was so void of any soup/stock taste that I managed the courage to ask if Gabbi (the owner) was in the house because I wanted her to taste it. They said she was away. Anyhow, the manager was nice enough to let me not have to take the two orders to go. I found out from the waiter that my portion was the last of the batch. I believe that what the cook was trying to do was enlarge the portion to cover all three orders. What made me curious was that what was added was not even stock. It was just straight water and lime juice. We’re they out of soup stock also? Ay yah, if you go and you want to order this soup, I recommend you go Thursday or Friday when maybe they had just made a new batch to get ready for the big rush.
Another item on the menu that’s very good is “quesillo en salsa verde” which is mozzarella cheese wrapped in panko crumbs and served with fresh, handmade tortillas. The portion is enough to share with two, even three people.
Great Food/Drink, But Staffing Unattentive
Ordered a variety of tacos - food was amazing. Drinks were great too. Consistent with other reviews, we were equally unimpressed by the staff.
Be the first to ReplyNever disappointed
Saturday evening at 5:45, place was full. Got a table inside but much too noisy so we waiting 30 minutes for one outside. Good choice! Much quieter, roomier and much more pleasant.
Ordered a skinny margarita and a el viejo. Drinks are $14 but are very good. Wife had the mole chicken and I had the carnitas. Both were nice sized meals, just right for hearty appetites, enough for a nice lunch for seniors like us.
Adriana was our server. We were never rushed even though it was quite crowded.
Remains very good food
Outdoor seating very pleasant during lunch; good service. All dishes were good, very attractively presented.

We have never been disappointed with Gabbi’s. They have outside dining. The staff is friendly and attentive. We had excellent guacamole and the chips were fresh, but the REAL treat is the carnitas, always tasty. Their Queso Fondito is our favorite appetizer!
And they make an excellent Paloma🥂
Resting on your laurels
I am a long-time customer. Had the sea bass for dinner. Small piece of fish with a side of chipotle potatoes. The fish seemed lost on the plate. A bit pricey at $24.
Be the first to ReplyMy search for Oaxacan Mole sauces has been found...
This small but authentic Mexican Mole restaurant serves many traditional style dishes but I enjoy the chicken with mole sauce mostly while they offer other Mexican foods. I particularly enjoy their black or pinto beans, so tasty and authentic as is the mole selections.

Be the first to ReplyWaiting for our table because people are paying the bill.
So evidently, it takes an hour and a half for people to pay they're bill, even though they said, "wait 30 min for a table to open, they're paying". Really! Wow!
