The ambiance was really nice, but that was the best part of this restaurant. The sushi plate was lackluster and very overpriced. I feel like I've had better sushi from the Japanese grocery store. The edamame and seaweed salad was really basic and bland as well. It would've been nice if the edamame was seasoned with something. Overall, definetely not worth the price.

I tried the vegan omakase so I could join in with friends (who were having standard omakase.) It was a real treat that the restaurant offered this. I shouldn't complain as the dishes were creative, place is beautiful, and food was fresh (apparently sushi was great) but I wouldn't do a vegan omakase here again. In a few of my courses, while others got a small plate of sashimi or delicate item, I received rice-heavy rolls with vegetables.... lots of starchy ones! This made it difficult for me to portion out my eating since I was full before halfway through the omakase. 4* for the effort and ambiance. Servers were nice but not that attentive. I started taking photos of all the dishes because wow, I feel lucky to have plant-based sushi like this! You can see they're creative, yet dishes become repetitive. I stopped taking photos while laughing as rice rolls continued to pile up in front of me.

But, I am male and will never have the opportunity. Our waiter was fantastic tonight. We listened to all his recommendations tonight and it was delicious. He even showed us how they dry age the fish! I asked if they could "wet age" the fish. Was trying to make a joke and impress the girl i was with. Joke fell flat and she went home with the uber driver of all people. Weirdly enough that's not the first time that happened to me. I tried driving uber to pick up women but got banned for hitting on a single mother of 4. I loved her. Would definitely consider coming back! A little expensive though!

I wish Yelp would have let us know that because we traveled out of our area to check this place out.

Be the first to ReplyHad a wonderful experience at Fiish last week.
Everything we tried was amazing! Great work chef Collin and the entire staff. Going to make this my go to sushi spot in west LA!

Beautiful ambiance, but the staff was a bit rigid, which didn't make me a huge fan of the restaurant as a whole. They only take one credit card per table and won't split checks, and they gave us a hard time about getting a table. The restaurant is also very loud so it's hard to hear one another if you go with a big group. The spicy tuna crispy rice was great, and I really enjoyed the hamachi sashimi. Lemon roll was not good- should have listened to the servers recommendation to stick with the sashimis and nigiris.

LA staple one must try! If we lived closer we would be regulars!

Fiish holds a special place in my heart for this- The service and ambiance is very fun and exciting, making it a great date night spot. Unfortunately, my date didn't show up . I still stayed to have dinner because I've been wanting to have sushi here for weeks and the staff was so kind/accommodating about my situation. It meant a lot to me that they had empathy and checked in to see how I was doing after my date no-showed. Food- I ate the spicy tuna crispy rice at the bar but took the little fish order to go. From sitting at the bar, you can easily tell that the staff takes pride in making each dish and does a quick quality check before sending it out to be served. The to-go box is great for take out sushi and the little fish was more than enough food for one person. I loved the variety that came with the little fish and it all tasted very fresh and flavorful. Thank you Fiish for turning my night around with your delicious sushi . Will definitely be coming back.

Ambience is so nice but food should really match the ambience and price. We shared the crispy rice and the spicy tuna was not spicy. I ordered the little fish. The cucumber salad was missing flavor - it lacked the rice vinegar that makes a japanese cucumber salad what it is. The fish was all fine and fresh (enough) but did not taste amazing. My biggest gripe is with their soy sauce. It is extremely salty and definitely not sushi soy sauce. And they don't have the normal wasabi, i've had the type of wasabi they provide before but it's not spicy. We had to ask for wasabi and ginger multiple times. What sushi place doesn't provide these things automatically with raw fish/nigiri? So odd! Also wasn't impressed with the yuzu spritz. This is definitely a skip in my book.
Be the first to ReplyIf you are looking for good sushi this is not the place.
We ordered everything the server recommended and it was all disappointing. Aside from the restaurant being nice there's not much else to write home about.
Be the first to ReplyGreatly enjoyed our meal.
Fish was delicious, very tasty and unfussy and well presented. Wait staff was exceptionally pleasant and attentive and the decor is minimalist and comfortable. Will definitely return.
Be the first to ReplyMy fiancé and I had high hopes for this place.
Great location, the restaurant was really nice, great music.... But the food was subpar and honestly just overpriced. We ordered the big fish, a couple small plates, 1 roll and a small sake and our bill came out to almost $200. The fish itself was ok, not incredible, not bad... but really lacking flavor and for that price, you just can't justify it.

.....Food was just ok... We made a reservation for 5:30 and were greeted by the manager with a "you guys need to be done by 7:00" I guess there was another reservation at our table for 7:00. With a bill over $500 you would think they would make you feel a little more welcome. The Ambiance was pretty good.
Be the first to ReplyThe BEST sushi I have ever had.
Hands down. Everything was unreal, and the sourcing, their process and team are amazing. Highly, highly recommend
Be the first to ReplyWanted to try since I saw it open.
Sadly we had pretty terrible service when I came for Valentine's Day with my partner. We chose to do the pre-fixed menu and the entire thing was brought out wrong/out of order. Wouldn't have been an issue but items continued to be skipped over. We talked to 5+ separate people but they never seemed to communicate about the mishap. Just chatted in the corner. At the end they seemed very frustrated, telling us their kitchen was closing while we still missed tons of nigiri from the second course. Overall they seemed annoyed with the situation when it was their fault to begin with. Some dishes were delicious but several felt average. $100/person for a fixed menu where we had to basically beg for all the courses and no effort to amend the situation or comp anything is embarrassing. Won't be returning.

This was really nice ambiance with the decor but is super loud, at least tonight. The cucumber salad was good but too small of a portion. I would get the edamame again and also the tuna tataki. A few of the items definitely needed soy sauce but luckily it's available at the table. I'd come back potentially for theOmakase but everything else was just cool. The service was very nice as they came to check on us after every item we ordered.
Be the first to ReplyI came in with my sister to try this place and all I have
I came in with my sister to try this place and all I have to say is this place is the new go to spot for sushi, it has such a romantic vibe to it but I feel that any special occasion suits this place well. The menu is so detailed; it was truly my first time trying REAL sushi for example sashimi , salmon, tuna etc. We ordered the crispy rice and the little fish which came with a variety of pretty much everything; edamame, seaweed salad, bass, tuna and salmon rolls, sashimi (etc.) When I say the food tasted great im not exaggerating because EVERYTHING IN HERE is fresh to order which makes the food 10x more delicious. My server Taylor, did an amazing job being attentive with my table and constantly checking in on us. Will definitely recommend to others looking for a fun night out or even a romantic evening.

After seeing the mixed reviews on here I can honestly say this place is worth a visit! We showed up around 5:15 on a Friday and the place was practically empty. They do happy hour from 5-6 I believe and we ordered a spritz, sake, and crispy rice. I'm a crispy rice snob and theirs is 10/10. Overall, the service was amazing, attentive, and informative and the food was just as good. We ordered almost all the nigiris (which are a pretty standard size) and each bite was delicious. Also got the miso salmon, which is more of an entree and it had great flavor along with hearty rice and veggies. Baja roll is also a must as it is super fresh and filling. I think your best bet is to go early to avoid the crowd! We'll definitely be back!

Normally a fan of Sugarfish but was enticed by the ethically sourced fish and dry aged fish. Location: Platform at Culver City. Located around the corner from Roberta's and near Sweetgreen. Parking: Street parking or parking in the structure. It cost $4.00 for 2 hours. Ambiance: Very trendy, intimate setting. Tables are close together. Options for outside, inside, or at the bar. Food: Ordered the Valentines Day special which included several courses and dessert. As another reviewer stated, the fish is just okay. A matter of personal preference, but the garnishments did not enhance the flavor of the fish and were overpowering at times. Some pieces were overly doused in yuzu or lemon. There was little to no soy sauce in the container on the table. They do not provide wasabi. We also did not get a cute little candle that every other table had. Service: The poor service stood out. Workers were bustling around and appeared flustered. They could not recall what course we were on, food came out at different times even though we ordered the same special, and did not describe what fish we were getting. They took our menu so we weren't able to refer back to it. We were so hungry that we immediately gobbled up whatever course was in front of us and then waited another 15-20 minutes for the next one. Most frustrating was to witness the two adjacent tables be seated after us and and received their food much quicker. Overall impression: try it if you don't mind a twist on fish or want to experience a cute, trendy spot. Avoid it if you have the tendency to get hangry
