Many happy returns.
A spectacular lunch. Very nicely balanced and imaginative menu, excellent service. The wine list is small but interesting with very good quality unusual wines at a reasonable price. The Sommelier is very helpful. This was our second time here and we will certainly return when back in Edinburgh. It is one of the very best restaurants in the city.

Went to restaurant for our wedding anniversary. From the moment we entered the restaurant we were made to feel special. The food and service were excellent and I have no hesitation in recommending the restaurant

The 7 course menu was very delicious. The tast and the arrangement was very good, and the waiters are professionals. The sommelier give us a good recommendation.
Be the first to ReplyRelaxed and enjoyable anniversary dinner
We headed to Fhior to celebrate our wedding anniversary. We watched the rugby then headed over. Welcomed in and given a lovely card from the Fhior team, v.thoughtful. Clean, simple decor and relaxed atmosphere which allowed for the food and wine to be the stars of the evening. I particularly enjoyed the music! Service was excellent, attentive without being intrusive. If i asked an annoying Q about feremntation or commented on the cutlery they got me an answer without issue. Big shoutout to the Sommelier who was great! We opted for 10 courses and paired wine and where happy to be surprised by the menu. My husband has a shellfish allergy and that was catered for without any issues. With any tasting menus some dishes shine brighter than others, the two light bites were a great why to start. We particularly enjoyed the vension tartare. I loved the scallop/prawn toast and my husband looked on longingly. I am not a fan of pudding, but the rhubarb /meadowsweet dish is now #1 on my favs. The sea buckthorn dish was a surprise big hit too. The paired wine worked beautiful with each dish. After a recent 🌟 dinner where the wine could only be described as challenging this was a very pleasant experience. Overall, relaxed, chilled, fun eating and drinking experience. Nice way to spend your anniversary.
Be the first to ReplyAmazing night out with outstanding food and service
One of the best meals I've ever had. The service was outstanding and the wine pairings with the 10 course meal were perfect. Each dish was so well done in it's own way, my least favourite dishes of the 10 were still great compared to most other places I've been to. Pricey but definitely worth the money if you're wanting to have a fantastic night and try dishes that you wouldn't see elsewhere.
Be the first to ReplyWonderful food, great experience, orange dessert to die for…
We’re been a few times now for the four course lunch and it’s always been excellent- great food, great service and interesting matching wines. The info on the food and wines really helps one enjoy the meal- although sometimes it’s hard to catch all the details because of the rapid delivery…yesterday the orange dessert was outstanding! Absolutely delicious combination of sweet and sharp flavours. I believe it was its first “outing” …. I hope it comes back! For me the only thing is that the rooms lack “atmosphere” - this isn’t the Witchery but …Overall wonderful lunch experience.

Perfect in every way. Elegant, refined and yet friendly and relaxed. The food was so beautiful, the matched wines actually matched and the service was spot on.
Be the first to ReplyI'm really fussy!
I'm the fussiest diner I know and it takes a lot for me to write a glowing review, but I loved everything about lunch today. The service was relaxed and fun, but professional. The staff were very knowledgeable, the food was outstanding and the pairings were interesting and very well matched. The additional 'cheese toastie' course with Perry is a must! Get a table if you can!
Be the first to ReplyFhior is true to its name
Truly, a very special anniversary lunch for my wife and me - true to the Auld Alliance in combining French and Scottish elements/tones. Our French friends are now hooked on skirlie. Excellent ambiance: stripped Scandi as the pro reviewers say but elegant, comfortable (we were in the window double seat) - and intriguing dishes accompanied by excellent wines and, in my case, a naughty cider to go with the cheese. Staff suitably chatty but not importunate in any way: professional but friendly.
Be the first to ReplyChic, satisfying, memorable tasting!
What an impeccable detail focused high end tasting! Staff is very knowledgeable and eager to share details of the menu. Great special occasion meal! Ten course option with wine pairing really show cases the vision of the restaurant. Highly recommend.

What a gem! Really lovely, unpretentious restaurant serving exceptional food with pride and passion. The staff are welcoming and engaging and really know their stuff and each course is better than the last. There are not enough superlatives to describe the food

All absolutely fantastic from the warm welcome and knowledgable staff (especially Florence) to the amazing food (even the unusual carrot dessert)

Very nice place , private, very good for a nice date dinner. As people working in hospitality we Had high expectations. Food partially fullfilled them. 10 course menu is interesting, as a meat eater suprisingly enjoyed veggie options more. Partridge slightly over. Service amazing, very attentive. We were served by Abigail, very proffesional, prepered and focused on timing, amazing host. The rest of the team also very proffesional.Thank to her our evening was amazing.
Be the first to ReplyStunning tasting menu and paired wines- meal to remember
My husband and I love fine dining, and so when I planned a weekend get away to Edinburgh this half term, I checked out the recommended places in Edinburgh, and the blurb for this really appealed 'Creative modern cooking showcases local and foraged produce, with their one acre garden the real driving force behind the menus. They preserve their home-grown ingredients so they can use them all year round'. We were not disappointed! We went for the 10 course tasting menu and paired wines. My favourite dish was the crab, artichoke and pepper dulse- pepper dulse being a new ingredient to me. The John Dory, squid and celeriac was a close second. Every dish was beautifully presented, and perfect portion sizing for a tasting menu. The pace of the delivery was spot on- not too slow and not rushed, and the knowledge on the ingredients and the wines was perfect. Thank you so much for a really memorable dining experience.
Be the first to ReplyMust visit in Edinburgh!
My partner and I were extremely excited to dine with Fhior and they did not disappoint. The staff ensured that we were comfortable and tended to our every need. They were precise and descriptive whenever the food was presented. The food itself was delicious and every plate had its own story. We had the 7 course dinner and we were quite full by the end of it. Would recommend as a must if you ever visit Edinburgh.
Be the first to ReplyDifferent Sunday lunch
We had the 4 course tasting menu and the wine pairings. Every mouthful was delightful, so much flavour in each dish. The homemade bread, butter and savoury spread were gorgeous. A great experience.

Came here for my husbands birthday lunch. We had the 7 course set meal and paired wine. Soooo worth the money. It was faultless. The meal was delicious, perfectly presented and the paired wine complimented each meal. All staff were very friendly and knowledgeable about the dishes and wine. 5* would 100% recommend.
Be the first to ReplyBelated Christmas lunch
This was a rearranged Christmas lunch as our initial reservation had to be cancelled due to illness and it was definitely worth the wait. We had the 7 course menu and every course hit the spot. Beautifully presented and the quality of the ingredients shone through. The atmosphere is very relaxed and the staff are very friendly and helpful.
