I had not been to Felix for a while and was looking forward
I had not been to Felix for a while and was looking forward to dinner. The snails were small (only a half dozen) and the sauce skimpy with no taste. The Steak Frites Felix was covered with a heavy sauce which - for me - made it barely edible. Noticed another review mentioned they did not refill water glasses - they carried on that tradition with us. My chair was on a metal plate which creaked loudly whenever a waiter stepped on it. I asked them please not to do that but they kept doing that. For their high prices, one would expect better food and better service. Only bright spot was the wine which was good - and necessary to wash down the food. I won't be returning although I live just a few blocks away.
Be the first to ReplySaturday Felix energy is unmatched.
The manager calls the shots -- so even if you have a reservation, you could be waiting 30 min -- just know that going in :) There's always a big table or two for big birthday groups which makes it a loud and lively space. I still love going to Felix even if it's cheugy and especially bringing out of towners. Food is actually pretty solid. The menu is extensive so I haven't tried that many items. The mac and cheese (which pairs so well with a spritz) is my go to.

I want to love this place around the corner from my work and good drinks. I would ignore the $20 cocktail pricing if it were not for the bartender. She is the absolute worst, bad vibes when you walk in and often eating her food loudly next to you at the bar before being bothered to serve you. In such a tiny bar her slamming around really ruins the atmosphere. I get French service but this is just uncomfortable to the point I will only go in if I don't see her behind the bar.
Be the first to ReplyLet me begin with I do not leave bad reviews casually.
I am always happy to provide a wonderful review for all establishments I attend. The disappointment I experienced from this place start to finish is unmatched. The same grumpy old balding white man was who we were unfortunately with the whole time who bitched and complained at us for only wanting apps and dessert despite only wanting a quick end of the night bite in their empty restaurant and tried to peer pressure our sober friends into drinking. Then when I asked for the check he mocked me and avoided our table for the next 20 minutes and played going to our table than not. Then after all of this we asked to split the bill and before I finished the sentence he cut me off with a no. The food was cold and not good and no where near the price. Not the we could complain because no one checked on us. All in all, in a city known for food don't waste your time here.
Be the first to ReplyGot food poisoning here.
I am never going back to this place. Be careful eating here.

The waiter was so rude, he started sassily forcing us to order more entrees with no reason because there is no disclaimer on the menu. Then proceeds bonk me on the head with a plate, it was an accident but definitely did not aid the experience. Ambiance is good I guess but theres better places around. Don't order the hummus, that is not even hummus. Don't spend your money on that dish. Fries were good though. On top of all of this, at the end he charged himself 20% tip AND charged us the house birthday mousse when we just asked what they offered for birthdays. They never mentioned it wasn't on the house. Then was rude to us again and was even getting aggressive. SUCH a BAD experience My first and last time here.
Be the first to ReplyThe hostess is so rude and does not represent New York City.
We had a reservation for brunch and instead of seating us at our table she told my friend to "let her do her job" and then sat a different party at our table and then we waited 45 min to be seated. We came back later for our night reservation to dance and she let most of my friends in except three of us even though we had a reservation for my friend's birthday. When I walked in she tried dragging me out by my coat. Go somewhere else where the staff is organized and respectful.

We came here one night for a friends birthday and it was unique experience. Make reservations, get a sit down table, order some appetisers and food, drinks is a must. The music gets louder and at some point they make everyone stand up and they remove the chairs. The main thing you are here for is the ambiance. Food isnt bad and drinks are New York price. It's basically a younger fun bar vibe, very up feeling and great music at night if you want to just party. It gets loud and you basically cant hear each other talk as well but you can make friends with other tables. I would come dressed to impress. If you want food and cocktails to relax with, this is not the place. We also had unpleasant experience with the staff in the beginning. My friend had reserved a table for 10 for her birthday months in advance, however when we got there the guy took a look at her and said it would cost min of 100pp at the table. This was ridiculous and never mentioned ahead of time. We ended up getting table for 4 and added chairs slowly. We ended up not even charged 100pp. We also had to order all the drinks up ahead. We asked around other tables if they had the 100pp requirement and it seemed like we were the only table that got it, and tbh I think it was because my friend was not white, the guy really took us for a ride there. I think this place is a lot of fun if you are in your 20s and new in nyc, but I would not come unless someone really wanted to celebrate something here.
Be the first to ReplyI'd rate this place 3 stars.
The service was excellent, but the food had its ups and downs. I really enjoyed the burrata and mussels. The mussels had a delightful garlic flavor, and the Sinćerite Sauvignon Blanc paired wonderfully with them. Nice open scenery. Unfortunately, the shrimp cocktail was rubbery and the sauce too thick for dipping. The Greek salad was decent, but it seemed like the tomatoes and lettuce weren't properly washed.
Be the first to ReplyVery rude and disrespectful staff.
We called for a reservation to watch f1 race and the person attending the call sounded like the biggest fan ever. Except when you got to the rez, the staff was indifferent and insensitive. Further they said 90min rez limit but gave us the check the minute we finished food. And eventually asked us to move ever before the limit. We asked for drinks and they said not here but at the bar (which was already full).
Be the first to ReplyTruly wish I could leave zero stars.
My friends and I had reservations and had to leave due to the owner being a complete butt hole to one of our group members. She yelled at our friend and made her cry. Mind you were here for her bachelorette party. I'm in shock. She told my friend "f you" and because of her yelling at my friend we could no longer stay for our reservations. Worst restaurant ever.

Felix Cafe at the Hotel Hugo was a very pleasant surprise - perfect for after office cocktails and an early dinner . The plant wall was beautiful in this very fun and sophisticated atmosphere. The halibut I had was very light, well cooked and seasoned. The food and drinks were served promptly by a very friendly server (who was also our bartender / barista!)
Be the first to ReplyHonestly the service was terrible.
They didn't care to come by much. The escargot was actually so delicious, but my steak was not good. It's steak how hard is it to mess up? It didn't taste right it was rubbery, and the sauce didn't pair well. Lucien is a better option if you're looking for French food, but also I've heard this is more of a brunch/party spot anyway so maybe I'm being too harsh on the food
Be the first to ReplyFood was terrible.
The owner (lady who smokes a lot outside) had an attitude when we complained. Like lady..do a better job.

Came here for a Sunday birthday brunch and it was very busy inside - definitely a party vibe with loud music and bottles. The French onion soup was a bit too salty but fries were good. The place is pretty small so I'd recommend coming with a smaller group...tables are very tight

I was wearing a hat that the old man made me take off that he found offensive. The hat said "Good Girls are cuffed". He tried to kick me out and after I tried to explain myself he removed my bottle of wine. We even offered to pay and said no. When I tried to explain the meaning as someone who works in this industry his response was "I speak English" and was very dismissive. All the other staff was baffled by this behavior and accommodating . This is a hat I would wear in front of my mother. The old man was rude, dismissive and to be honest an a**hole. But we got moved to a different section and the other server was great

We walked in around mid-day and it was not busy, got seated quickly though seating was tight. Kind of annoying to be seated directly on top of another group when the tables are so small. We also ordered lattes and those were good, they do not have any syrups but sugar so that was all fine and it had good flavor. Then the food came and for the prices, getting four crackers for the hummus was disappointing. They were also very stale so extremely hard to bite through. The hummus had good flavor but lots of olive oil on top. The fries were pretty good and had strong truffle flavor despite the underwhelming appearance. So, for two lattes and two appetizers, kind of crazy how it was $50. I wouldn't come again simply fir the fact SoHo is overwhelmed with restaurant options and the price did not match food quality. Service was good, unfortunately everything else just fell a tad flat.

The bartender here served my boyfriend two minutes after he showed up and didn't serve me for 20 minutes when I was one of five people there waiting to get a drink. The bartender who worked NYE is probably the worst type of bartender I've met. I didn't do anything to her, so she's either racist or doesn't want to serve women.

Food is delicious service is great and the ambiance is perfect. Not to mention they also have outdoor seating.
Be the first to ReplyFrench food, reggaeton music, dancing, and live sports.
Felix is a whole vibe that does not make sense if you think too hard but if you come expecting good chaos, Felix delivers. I had SO much fun here. Take that with a grain of salt because I listen to way too much reggaeton for a non-Spanish speaker. But the crowd here is lively and ready to mingle.Drinks: Overpriced, but you are coming for the fun vibe. Food: I had the ASIAN CRAB CAKE appetizer, which was delicious -- 3 mini-crab cake balls perfectly fried sitting on top of a light sweet and sour cucumber salad. I was so impressed with this dish. However, my dining partner ordered the STEAK FRITES and felt that the steak was not fresh. When we sent it back to the kitchen and asked to replace with the BURGER (which was OK), the server was displeased with us, and when the bill came, we found that they charged us for the price of the steak, not the burger. Tried unsuccessfully to push back. But well, it's the cost of doing business to come to Felix, where you can eat a solid meal, drink, dance, and flirt all in one venue.
Be the first to ReplyThis place has the rudest staff I've ever encountered.
The manager was SCREAMING and CURSING at us because we were questioning why we weren't seated for our reservation after 45 minutes of waiting in the empty restaurant. Verbatim "get the f**k out of here and never come back". They lied about our reservation minimum and we're condescending and rude. If I could give this place 0 stars I would.

Food is good- relatively normal but the real reason to go to this place is for the atmosphere. Very youth oriented and lots going on. Had the avocado toast and was good.
Be the first to ReplyThis place is garbage.
A quintessential overrated, overpriced restaurant that just sees its customers as ATM's. We made a reservation in advance for 6 people. These people have the nerve to seat us over 30 minutes late, not bring half our order, and then pressure us to buy a magnum bottle of rose, which costs $300+ as there is a minimum. We said we would prefer to order individual drinks as no one wanted wine. They REFUSED to take our drink orders because we did not purchase a bottle. I went up to the manager and clearly told her we were not aware that there was a minimum at the table (the reservation didn't mention ANYTHING) OR that we were held accountable to order rose. She simply said "if you don't like it, then leave". And leave we did, leaving a 5% tip.Never going here again, and if you have any self respect, you won't either.

3.5 / 5.0 - We came to Felix for brunch with a group of friends. Based on the low reviews, I had lower expectations of this place, but we ended up having a decent experience. This French restaurant has a trendy vibe and an open airy feel with its glass patio doors. We were seated in the corner, which was nice, so we didn't have people constantly walking behind us like some of the other tables.I ordered Le "Crabe Cake" Facon Asiatique ($19.50+), which is a crab cake on top of Asian cucumber salad. The salad was light and refreshing. The crab cake itself was good, too, but needed more flavor--with some sauce, not just salad dressing.I also had some fries, which were nice and crispy. The drinks were ok. I had a Bellini ($17+), which didn't taste like one--it was not fresh and I could not taste the peach purée.Not sure about the brunch cocktails, but this place does have a great vibe and could be a good option for catching up with friends.
