Great location and very comfortable
Great location to see New York and all it has to offer! Very comfortable beds, any additional request was actioned immediately.
Be the first to ReplyThe maid said dumb things
It was ok except the maid kept coming in the room When the do not disturb sign was up. I would tell her I didn’t need any services but she’d ignore that. While in the room she asked why I had a tripod and also if I was from Africa because I’m black. I was offended. She needs to be trained on customer relations.
Be the first to ReplyWe loved it
We had a wonderful stay here! The location is very central - great for walking to most places, otherwise the train station is a mere 3 mins away. The room was clean and comfortable, and everyone was incredibly warm and friendly - especially the bellman and our housekeeping lady.

We love this hotel. Everyone is so friendly and always happy to answer any questions. The manager always smiling and chatting with guest. We will definitely stay here again. The location is absolutely perfect for everything. Coffee in lower level was very good. Thank you for such a wonderful experience.
Be the first to Replybe careful, they charged me twice the same night
I booked through Expedia and they charged me the same thing twice. I slept one night giving a credit card as guarantee. Once I arrived, I asked to be able to pay for one night with another card. Affirmative answer. Too bad they charged me overnight on both cards! Once I realized their mistake and contacted them (complicated because they don't have an email but only the contact form), they denied it, providing me with an unclear account. I had to ask my bank to block the payment. Absurd. Furthermore, on their website the facade of a hotel that is not theirs appears, obviously much more beautiful.

This hotel is faultless for its location right in the middle of Korea town on 32nd Street just off 5th Avenue. This hotel is central for all of the places you would like to visit in NY and the subway station is literally 1 minutes walk. The food offering around the hotel are just to numerous to explain. The hotel staff are really nice and they will help you with anything you need. The rooms are standard fare but we'll kept and clean and there are no issues with bringing food into the hotel to eat in your room. We stayed on the 12th floor and opened our curtains to look right up at the empire state building (which is situated on 34th street directly behind this hotel) every morning. Free tee and coffee is available in the lower lobby from 7-11 every morning and you also have a coffee maker, iron and ironing board as well as a hair dryer in your room. Prices for this hotel are great compared to other hotels that are close by. I recommend this hotel it is great value for money.
Be the first to ReplyWe will definitely be back
Recommended hotel! We had a good time, the metro was close to be able to visit the whole city, the Empire State Building, Times Square, and many other points of tourist interest nearby, the hotel is located in the Korean area, the hotel street was the busiest and colorful area, we really liked it also because returning late in the evening you didn't feel isolated! If I really had to find a flaw I would say to fix the sound insulation (the noise of the traffic in the street and the shouting of the kids can be heard loudly until late at night) instead I would add a positive note for the comfort of the beds!! Top!

The Hotel is located in Koreatown, at the back of the Empire State Building. You can reach the subway in less than 200m and the hotel-crew is very friendly and willing to help you with anything you need.
Be the first to ReplyOutstanding staff. Spectacular hotel
I can’t figure out how to edit my original review: “So far…So welcoming”. Instead here is part two. We just arrived home from our stay. Wow, what a special place. Yes the decor is unique, thoughtful and very cool. I detest boring neutral hotel decor and this place is so not that. Yes, the location is great. Very walkable plus they have a courtesy car. Yes the amenities are amazing. Seriously amazing. Butler service, free snack and sodas and all the water you need. But it is the personal service that is what makes this place stand out. In my other review I mentioned our cat that we were bringing to NYC for brain surgery. When we arrived we were welcomed so warmly. Our cat, who is basically paralyzed was given so much attention. He was in the hospital 4 days and for our entire stay we were greeted by name and were asked how our cat was doing. I know hospitality staff is supposed to be polite - even though they are often not - but the staff here are above and beyond. It’s not just that they are friendly. It’s not just that they are welcoming. They are actually nice. They treat guests with such kindness, and I hope they know how much that meant to us this week. Next time you are in NYC you can not do better than this hotel. P.S. our cat made it through surgery and it’s early days but he is doing well!
Be the first to ReplyNice and Friendly Staff,
The Room was not too cold or hot, it kept a room temperature which was bearable then it cool down a bit but was comfortable. Sheets were vety thin but they were ok. Staff was very friendly abd willing to help.
Be the first to ReplyA good place to stay
A fairly good and nice hotel. Location is great close to Empire state building, subway and many restaurants, shops, pharmacies etc. Good value for the money. Down one floor they have coffee and tea for selfservice. Staff performance is good helpful and friendly. Hotelroom was abit small but it was alright. Can recommend this for other travellers

Great location comfortable surroundings friendly accommodating staff very reasonably priced I would highly recommend this hotel for the cost conscious traveler I had no issues whatsoever and I would definitely stay here again
Be the first to ReplyThey do not respond to messages and e-mails.
The location of the hotel is excellent, very friendly personal. It is unfortunate that the deposit, which is returned within 14 days, has not been returned even though more time has passed than that. They do not respond to messages and e-mails.
Be the first to ReplyCould have been a 5 start experience if they would give the deposit back..
I would have given 5 stars as the hotel is in really good location, room service was lovely, everything was great. There was a lack of facilities but enjoyed my stay there. Sadly, never received my deposit back. I stayed back in November 2023 so it’s been more than a month already. Really disappointed about it. Tried to contact the hotel but no reply about it.
Be the first to ReplyDated and Tired. Rude front of house staff.
I visited with my daughter and arrived home today. The staff front of house were just rude and very unhelpful. Cleaning lady lovely. Room was not the best but we only used it to sleep. Carpets old and dirty, bed on myside was well worn and dipped on my side really over used. Decor was old and very dark. Lighting was very poor. Lights on the ceiling and wall lights were all on the right hand side of the room. That with the colour scheme mad if feel dark and dingy. There is a bar on the 14th floor but it is not run by the hotel. It has a great view of the Empire State Building only 2 blocks away but only used it once. I got a martini cocktail and a glass of wine cost $38. very expensive. But then again I paid $9 for a beer in another place. so watch out. Location was right in the heart of Korea town and 32nd street and 5th Ave where the hotel is located has too many Korean fast food resturants it is always packed. If I was to go again I would choose again I would get a hotel between 36th and 43rd street between 5th and 8th Ave. Overall wished I had chosen a different hotel and paid a bit more. You get what you pay for.

The hotel is no doubt in a very central position- with a subway just at the end of the street it’s incredibly easy to get from A to B. The reception area in the hotel and the rooftop bar have been refurbed nicely which creates a good impression upon arrival. Unfortunately the rooms were not up to scratch. Of course we didn’t expect a lot as we had got a good deal for the hotel. The room was very small, the decor was very dated and the noise from the street below (we stayed on the second floor) was absolutely awful! The bed was a good size and was very comfortable and it was great to get clean towels every day. I agree with other reviews about the attitude of the reception staff. There was a female member of staff who was particularly rude and really didn’t start off our stay on the best note. The concierge man was a great help and the bar staff on the rooftop were brilliant so it wasn’t all bad. When I go back to New York, I’ll not be staying at this hotel- the rooms were just too dated and small for me but we did have a really good trip!

Good hotel and good location had to pay $160 on arrival and informed that would get a refund in 4 to 6 days and still not received. The rooms are good and staff seamed friendly, it's just bad practice to say the refund will be given and then never send it.

Can’t fault the location as this was great however the shower in the hotel room did not work, we were charged an initial fee at check-in and were advised this would be refunded 14 days after checkout, after not receiving this within the time frame I sent multiple emails and messages on social media however I have been ignored and still to this day nobody has been in touch with me after multiple attempts on my behalf to get in touch with them. The money has still not been refunded. This issue needs to be addressed ASAP, also I would like an explanation as to why my communication attempts have been ignored.

I stayed here back in Jan 2023 for 1 night. I didn't know much about this place but was happy I found it. I love the place because of the lively vibe around. Plenty of food and entertainment. The noise didn't bother me much. The room was clean. I would definitely stay again. I'm just waiting for a better deal and open spot. I will be going to NY every month.

I visited the Hotel Feb 2023 with my partner ( 28 and 26) but had booked back in Nov 2022. Between this time I had looked up reviews and was a little concerned as they seemed very missed and was considering rebooking. A few aspects that people had reported on were the rooms, receptionist, elevator and location so I’ll give my honest opinion just to inform/reassure anyone staying here. Rooms: We booked a Queen room but were given two double beds. I’m not sure if this was mixup with the travel agent but to be honest it was great having our own beds sometimes so this was a blessing. The room was very spacious for NYC. I had seen the floor plan and I could see our room size was bigger than most on our floor. We were on the 11th floor, quite close to the rooftop bar on the 14th but we never heard anything ( from the bar). The rooms were super clean and serviced each day. The decor is dated but this didn’t bother me. You can’t open the windows which is a little strange and sounds strange to read but it’s no big deal. The windows aren’t super thick so you can hear a little bit of the hustle and bustle but again this isn’t a big deal. Reception : the guy who greeted us was friendly and helpful. We had a pay a city tax which we knew about already. It was around $90 for 4 nights. Elevator: both elevators worked fine until the last day of our stay, when we were checking out. Only one seemed to work and it was quite busy so we had a to wait a while. If you’re around floor 1-4 you’d be better taking the stairs. It was small inconvenience but not as bad as I had anticipated Location: Situated along “Kore Town” it was busy enough but seems to have a nice vibe. There were some nice places to eat along the street and nowhere as dirty or smelly as other reviews make it out to be. The hotel is super close to Times Square and Penn Station ( if you fly into Newark take the train to Penn it’s about a 4 minute walk from the Hotel) Overall I enjoyed my stay here and I would come back ( granted I had the same room )
Be the first to ReplyGreat hotel would def recommend
Just back from a stay in Hotel at Fifth Avenue room 609 for 4 nights from 14th Feb 2023. Hotel was clean and rooms had everything we needed (Hairdryer, coffee maker etc). We shared a room for 4 people (2 double beds). Beds were really comfortable! We were able to store our luggage on our checkout day. Staff were really friendly and more than happy to give advice & assistance. Resort Fees weren’t as high as our travel agent led us to believe & we also weren’t asked for a deposit which we were also expecting. The hotel is in Koreatown just round the corner from Empire State Building - location was perfect for us as it seemed handy to everywhere we wanted to go. We used the subway entrance at the end of the street to get to places further away (Central Park, Brooklyn etc). Really lovely bakery cafe a few doors away (Tous Les Jours). Would recommend the hotel and would be keen to return - thank you to the hotel staff for looking after us well!
Be the first to ReplyGreat location.
This is now my sixth stay at this hotel over 20 Yrs but the first since it has been The Hotel at 5th Ave . Last stay was in 2014 when it was still La Quinta The hotel is in a great spot in mid-town just a block away from The Empire State Building. Reservation was through Booking.com. The correct rate was charged. Staff were friendly and maid service was very good. The rooms are again looking a little care-worn here and there but generally good. The in-room safes are a great idea and free to use The roof top bar is as always great and affords a reasonable view of The Empire State Building. HOWEVER the drink prices for some of the beverages are outrageous (yes even for NYC). I was charged $14 for a can of IPA beer. The worst thing however was that the barman AUTOMATICALLY added his tip at 20% !! I of course missed this and tipped him when I left the bar. Not bad eh ? A 40% surcharge. This used to happen to non US customers all the time. I thought that we had outgrown this practice. IT IS UNACCEPTABLE. Plus Points: Right in the middle of where you want to be. Lots of tasty Asian food near by. Good rates for Manhattan Still my favourite Hotel in NYC Clean Minus Points Bar staff who think that this is still the 1980s AC in room was very noisy and sounded damaged (Room 214)
Be the first to ReplyConvenient location
The location of the hotel is very convenient being situated around lots of tourist attractions including the Empire State Building, maddison square garden and a little walk to Times Square. Bars, restaurants and shopping centres very close by. The room was fine for a few days stay with a comfy bed and clean linen. Bathroom was tiny and annoying to get ready in if you have lots of things but other than that it was also clean. We were provided with a machine for coffee but no actual coffee or mugs. Tv in the room was great! Rooftop bar provides a fantastic view of the Empire State Building but the cocktails and drinks in general are very very expensive but reflects the prices of outside bars too. Be prepared for a $50 deposit and taxes for each night you stay there all to be paid on arrival.
