Amazing Dishes!
Eslava was our first stop in Seville! Love their innovating style of cooking .You must try the“ciggar for bequer”. So unusual and delicious. Also a must, the succulent honey ribs. Our waitress gave us tastes of the wine before we made our choices. In our trip through Spain and Portugal Eslava was a dining highlight. Be sure to make a reservation...
Fine restaurant run by lovely people
Hugely popular restaurant which serves consistently excellent food for most of the day. The food, freshly prepared and presented with a smile is just superb. Ally that with an excellent wine list, what’s not to like. We stayed in an apartment above (which was also lovely) and as a result had no real reason to stray far for food or a swift late evening bottle of wine on the way home.

We have always returned to this recommended place and of course it did not disappoint us, its service and the quality of its products make it a mandatory stop on your visit to Seville!!!

We ate at the bar. The quality is very good, especially the fried fish (anchovies and mullet) We ordered the Becquer cigar, coquinas with garlic and the yolk on boletus sponge cake. All of very very good quality. 100% recommended restaurant

Professional and friendly staff, capable of understanding your needs and advising you in the best possible way on a high-level menu and wine list. Excellent quality of dishes and consistent prices. Just outside the tourist area, it is easily reachable on foot. It is advisable to book in advance as it is very popular. Tables inside and also outside in a characteristic town square. The best dinner of an entire Andalusian holiday.

Loved everything about this restaurant - baby squid was sublime, as was pretty much every plate served to us during our two visits to Eslava during our weeks holiday in Seville. The stand out for me, was the Old Cheese Icecream with Goji berry sauce. Omg - it was a REVELATION. Cheese and pud in one go - what’s not to like?? Service was excellent on both occasions. Would visit again in a heartbeat.
Exquisite flavors, but under what conditions?
Yes, indeed, the food is good, but is it really enough? Absolutely not. If you've ever wondered what a dog feels like in a game of bowling, this is the restaurant for you. Here, we clearly favor quantity over quality. Every square centimeter is optimized so that we can squeeze like sardines; forget all notion of personal space. Don't be surprised if, before you've even finished your starter, you're assigned new counter neighbors, giving you a wonderful opportunity to discover their breath or, optionally, the dishes they're tasting. As for the smile of the waiters, know that it is obviously extra. Bottom line: yes, the food can be delicious, but the overall experience is downright awful. So, is it really worth the detour? I will let you guess. Who are we kidding here?
excessive in price - decrease in quality
1 beer, 1 red wine with lemon, 1 tapa of fried anchovies and 1 tapa of sardines, both without preparation, 18.90 euros. Excessive. Since its change of ownership, a slight drop in quality, and a significant increase in prices. It is only explained by the change in segment, they are only aimed at tourists for a single visit. I don't recommend it now, before yes. There are better options in the area.
Unmissable
Tapas revisited in very refined ways, very high quality at average prices. Welcoming and super competent staff, let us advise you. It is advisable to book because it is very popular, outside the tourist area but worth the trip. Absolutely the best dinner of the whole holiday. Don't miss it.
Disenchantment
We had dinner and the food was excellent, pleasant service, and unfortunately the toilet was impractical and unhealthy. They were overwhelmed, they told us, and there is no justification for maintaining minimal hygiene conditions.
Bold and cutting edge food, that’s where Eslava excels
If you want to experience tastes that restaurants rarely offer you, Eslava is the place for you. Enjoy the egg yolk on boletus cake, squid ink cigar, onion braised blood or old cheese ice cream. These dishes are prepared to perfection. The more common dishes are tasty as well, but are not as inspired. The staff is great. Even when it’s really busy because of Semana Santa, they’ll still try to bond with you by making jokes.
An experience
I reiterate what has been said in many reviews. The cigar and the egg yolk on brioche cannot be missed. The chickpea stew is also very good. The perfect cheese ice cream!
Experience to repeat
A place with very delicious tapas: the Bécquer cigar, exquisite, the anchovies, very fresh, the chickpea stew, to repeat and the very juicy salad. Everything magnificent. I have to highlight the attention of the staff, professional and charming, especially the girl who seated us at the bar and the waiter who served us. It's a safe bet.

Food was amazing- egg yolk, cigar top picks-pork rib, wedge clams and baby squid also top picks! Lovely wait staff, ambiance and general overall feel. Have a reservation (imperative) Arrived early and were seated immediately. High recommend!!

Wow...it's number 1 for good reason
Went on a Friday evening at 9pm to the tapas bar. We added our name to the list...3 other names in front and waited 20-30 minutes to get a table; all very well organised and no favours, you wait your turn (despite people who knew the waiters turning up...they still wait their turn). We sat at the bar (where you can eat too) for a little while whilst waiting for a table. The waiters/resses are great, really friendly and helpful, offering wine and food recommendations. We had 5 tapas dishes (including pork in honey sauce and homemade croquettes), 6 drinks and a dessert (nougat ice cream with hot chocolate sauce) for €33. The food was really really nice, and the atmosphere was great...chilled (no pressure to rush our food and wine) and vibrant (seemingly a number of locals out for dinner too). The only negative are the toilets are not the best, small and messy (toilet roll on the floor). The best meal we had in Seville: very possibly, can't think anywhere they beat it for taste, atmosphere, service and cost. Highly recommended.
Must do
This was by far the best food. I had eaten in Sevilla in four days. I am quite accustomed to Spanish food but the quality and the different takes was amazing. Some almost Michelin level I would highly recommend you have to book to get in or wait stand at the bar.
Unique food
Visited at lunch time without a reservation and were able to get seated at the bar. Staff were great and friendly. Service was quick and efficient. The food was good with some unique tapa dishes!
Amazing Tapas and Bad Service
Eslava, created by two dreamers in 1988, is one of the best establishments in Seville in terms of taste. His award-winning tapas “Egg Yolk On Boletus Cake” is one of the best tapas I have ever eaten. Slow-cooked egg yolk on boletus edulis sponge cake and caramelised wine are palate-pleasing. However, my favorite is still the tapas called “A Cigar for Bequer”, prepared with Smooth bechamel with squid ink, cuttlefish and seaweed wrapped in pastry. Especially the Aioli that comes with it is a wonderful complement. Contrary to such good food, the service quality and the attitude of the staff are quite bad. We continue to see sullen faces and grumpy waiters at every visit, no less than the previous one. It is also worth warning about making a reservation: Even if you make a reservation, it does not mean much as they only receive customers depending on the density. It is quite difficult to find a table after 20:30. There are also budget-friendly prices and a well-selected wine menu.

Food: 4.5 Service: 4 Atmosphere: 4 Cost to worth it rating: 3 Return worthiness: yes Highlights: - Jamon: best we had all weekend. Thin slices of shiny meat candy. Couidve stop snacking on it. 5 stars - Octopus: small coin slices with a nice char on top of mashed potatoes. 4.5 stars - Pork cheek and fries in a rich brown sauce. 4.5 stars - Cigar: thin phyllo for long cigar shaped filled with cuttlefish. Very unique and tasty. 4 stars - Fried anchovies: I'm not typically a tiny fish fan, but these weren't fishy at all and crispy breading wasn't too heavy. 4 stars - Ribs: saucy and meaty but could've been more tender. 3.5 stars - Croquettes: good flavor but could've been crispier. 3.5 stars - Wine: had a few bottles of white which were fine. Lowlights: - Pretty small with only a few tables and very crowded long bar up front Enjoyed this meal and would recommend it.

I tried this place a couple of years ago and my friends and I still talk about going back just for this place!! Define gem. The bill is not bad for Americans lol Like we ordered everything we craved and the total was $60 for 2 people. For locals it's pricy, but for us, we definitely hit the place several times lol Totally recommend!
They treated us as if we were less than.
There was one young man who worked there who was willing to give us tips and where to sit. We could understand enough Spanish to know he was reprimanded and said ' I got it' or something like that. The others we encountered were not wanting us there although there was space and we were not the only Americans there. We did Not get what we ordered although it was good. again, the assumption that we were less than and stupid. We just ate what we got and did not say a word. I would not recommend this place at all.

This spot is likely slightly out of your way but highly recommend taking the detour to visit. We loved this place so much that we dined both nights for dinner in Sevilla. Our favorites were razer clam, egg dish, cigar squid, and fried sardines. Honey pork ribs was good but the pork felt a little dry. For dessert had nougat ice cream with chocolate and it was from out of this world!! Service is decent, we ate outside because the weather was so beautiful. For both nights we spent less than 50 euros and we had a ton of drinks too :) very affordable for high quality food. oh! When you are in Spain, just say no to bread eitherwise they charge you

We sat at the bar (maybe come early, it gets crowded!) and the food was amazing. We ordered several dishes to share. Everything so good, especially the cigar. I have a notice stating that my bid has been accepted and is awaiting transfer. The reservation is for the 18th, but the “moderator” said he will confirm booking by the 28th. Is this an indicator that I may not have a reservation?

Hey @EvocativeFold67, welcome to appointmenttrader! Once the reservation is in your portfolio, you definitely own the timeslot, the review team would not have approved the trade if the reservation wasn't confirmed - so you are going :-) Judging from your post you bid today and are going tomorrow - don't worry as long as you initiated the name transfer, you are good - the transfer service has to work with the opening hours of the reservation team of the respective venue. You will likely see the transfer confirmation a couple hours before your reservation time.
