I had the "Verdolagas con puerco en salsa verde" which is pork with purslane stewed in tomatillo sauce; my dining partner had the lamb taco special. Purslane holds a special place in my heart so I have to order it whenever I see it. For folks who don't know it, it's flavor is like tart lemony sorrel with clear earth notes, its texture has some nopal or okra oleagenous qualities...ayways, thats purslane and I love it. I loved the pairing of tomatillo and purslane, it made for a tart and earthy stew for the very large chunks of fall apart tender pork. Served with black beans, rice and two homemade tortillas. YUM. I might complain here about so few tortillas but they were clearly handmade, so im just going to shut the h*** up and say "gracias"! My dining partner had the (3) lamb (topped w/ herbs and onion, green salsa on the side) tacos that were again fall apart tender meat in tortillas with a side of broth,( think "french dip"), that had charming bits of hominy floating around in it. Also an excellent plate, very meat centric, excellent balance of flavors.
