Great food, service and I will be back!
This restaurant is a hidden Gem. It is not in main ave, but it was crowded. The attention was excellent we were kind of in a hurry and they made sure we were taken care of quickly. We were not familiar with the Uyghur cuisine, so we asked for recommendations from the staff and they did not disappoint. The eggplant salad, the lamb kebab were delicious. I wish we had more time to try more food. We will be back soon with family.
Be the first to ReplyExcellent blend of Turkic and Chinese flavors
Had a very nice meal. Great food. Great flavors. Service could be faster but itโs a mom and pop place so I am sure they will get better.
Be the first to ReplyOne word: Scrumptious
Everything was scrumptious, the soup made with real broth, reminded me my childhood time, when the food was smell like real food. The lamb and chicken skewers were sooo good, i think they marinate them in a special sauce, yummy. Also their Uyghur salad and eggplant salad was extremely delicious. It made me feel like I need to move to this area of VA just for this restaurant.
Be the first to ReplyWhat happened ? Second time bad experience and quality is no longer good
This used to be my favorite restaurant. Last time I thought maybe the chef changed as food did not taste as well. Second time it was just awful experience, the presentation and quality was just awful. I don't think I will come back to this location.

Be the first to ReplyWonderful food. My friends were thrilled to try it!
My friends and I were discussing what to eat for dinner and we originally thought Turkish, since we had good Turkish food before in Fairfax. When I opened my map, I found out that there is a Uyghur (pronounced as Weee-gur; gur as the end of hamburger) restaurant, we all immediately wanted to get food from here. I personally had tried Uyghur food before and am familiar, to a degree, with it. But for my friends, they are trying it for the first time. For appetizers, we had: - Uyghur salad: must try. Very refreshing. I personally hate raw carrots because it has a strong tastes, but they way the made it, the carrot odor is gone. I loved it. - Mantee: Utzbeki also calls them mantee, Naplese call them Momo, and the Chinese call them dumplings. The fillings are made with spices with wonderful aroma. Another success. Entrees: - Danpanchi (big plate chicken): it's a traditional Uyghur dish. I told my friends that we must try it. Chicken cooked with various sauces and spices and drizzled on a noodle like a salad dressing. My friends have kids and so I asked them to make a non-spicy version of it and they did it for us (thank you!). We, including the kids, all loved this dish. - Lamb kebob: another success. What's to not love about lamb marrying cumin? All dishes we ordered were big successes. My friends were very happy with their first try of Uyghur food and they were happy to find out that there is such cuisine located within driving distance. I will definitely be back and I think so will they.
Be the first to ReplyAwesome authentic food and atmosphere
The food was very good. Atmosphere and service nice and friendly. Loved chuchura soup and lamb kebob.
Be the first to ReplyExcellent food, especially the lamb and noodles!
Best lamb shank and kabobs I've ever had. Cooked to juicy perfection. The hand pulled noodles are also the best noodles I've ever had. The food is basically a mix of middle eastern and Chinese. Exceeded all expectations. I will be back!
Be the first to ReplyNice Hearty Food on a Cold Winter Evening
We are a group of friends that meet for dinner once a month. We take turns trying to find exotic or unusual restaurants to go to for dinner. It was out turn to find a restaurant and we came across this Uyghur restaurant. We had had Uyghur food in Xian in China before so we decided to give it a try. It was a good choice. The soups and dumplings were delicious, the lamb shank that I had was succulent, and the noodle and rice dishes were aromatic and spicy. My wife is not a fan of extremely spicy food, but she even enjoyed it and said that there was no lingering after-burn. We will most certainly return and try other items on the menu.
Be the first to ReplyGood Food, Intolerably Slow Service
On the positive side, this was a cozy dining room with an interesting menu and tasty food. However, it had two major flaws. The first is that there wasn't enough wait staff to go around so it was hard to get their attention. The second was that it took a seemingly long time for food to emerge from the kitchen. We won't be returning.
