Successful experience
Service was super friendly. Food was also great. Green sauce, just good. Portions of schnitzel were really big and really filling

Certainly an institution in Frankfurt. You can make a reservation and only pay with cash. The table was ready on time. You sit with a lot of people rather closely on a long bench. That shouldn't bother you. The selection is good and the portions are huge. The green sauce was amazing. The restaurant lives of course from the show of the host. The service in general was super nice even though it was very busy.

Hospitality, very good value for money, fun atmosphere with incredibly nice people. A bit crowded and loud, but we didn't mind. Note: It's a good idea to reserve a table. We got a seat without a reservation and only had to wait a short time, but we assume we were lucky!

The dishes were very good, but the welcome was a bit average, barely had time to choose the drink. The waitress got the bill wrong, I paid for 4 people when there were 3 of us.

I came to this place based on Tripadvisor reviews. Typical German restaurant, located in Sachsenhausen in a small alley. Inside there are tables to share. Typical, quality German food. I advise

It was another great evening with you. The food tasted very good. The Bembel with รppler was well filled ;-) Of course it's loud when guests are having fun and that's a good thing. Stay as relaxed as you are.

Itโs a place you absolutely have to go to discover the friendly atmosphere and local dishes. Great atmosphere with large tables. We eat and drink local there: grรผne Sausse, escalopes, applewine etcโฆ and itโs delicious. The staff is very friendly and when paying, the boss offers his round: a little short of schnapps. Super typical discovery! We loved it. (Please note, you must pay in cash; the card is not accepted.)
Be the first to ReplyTypically German - reserve the day before
A typical German restaurant, with long tables, with everyone seating next to each other, without knowing each other. Great experience, the food was very good, but the dessert was like instant pudding. A piece of advice, make a reservation the day before.

It was recommended we go "across the river" for an authentic German restaurant and picked Ebbelwoi Our from reviews. It certainly did not disappoint. We started with the Frankfurter sampler and the required apfelwein. The schnitzel, pork and sausage was great as well as the apple sauerkraut and mashed potatoes. The green sauce is also terrific. We finished with a shot of schnapps. Not only was the food very good, the service very friendly. We didn't get the entertaing staff, but made friends with the two people seated at the long table with us.

Best meal in Frankfurt. Be sure to make a reservation as this place fills up fast. Thankfully our hotel (Westin Grand Frankfurt) secured a reservation for us. The service, the food, the amtopshere -- all first-rate! This was our best meal in Germany while we were there for the NFL game.

Brilliant experience - Alexanderโs singing was a highlight. Food great. Service brilliant. For a group of 16 this was a top experience. The slaughter plate is good but schnitzel was excellent.

A nice local and traditional restaurant, with big portions and cold beer. Reservation is a must cause it's always crowded. Kitchen closes at 22:00 without prior notification! So, you need to order by that time.
Be the first to ReplyLovely, friendly German restaurant
You will love this lively place. If you are looking for a real German food at a real German restaurant packed w locals, served by lovely staff, this is a place to go! Get a cab and go there! Their schnitzel and sauerkraut is lovely..

What an excellent find. Tried here after researching suggestions of where to eat and it's worth every star! The food was fabulous as was the service. Had a fabulous meal. We tried the schnitzel with fried potatoes and green sauce and it was fab and huge portion. We also tried there Apple wine which was also excellent. Seating was relaxed in long share tables and benches very relaxed and welcoming. Totally recommend this place.

A very good place to enjoy the local cuisine of Hessen. All the traditional dishes you know are on the menu.
Be the first to ReplyBest dinner in Frankfurt by far
We had dinner here on our first night in Frankfurt, and we were very excited after reviewing the menu and previous reviews.
We didn't make an appointment and walked in at 5.10pm.
We politely asked if they had room, and the attendant had a bit of a laugh and said sure if you can find a table (the place was empty ๐).
We sat down, ordered a round of drinks and perused the menu.
Apfelwein obviously, as it's the speciality here.
We ordered the schnitzel, the German tasting platter and sausages and mash for our youngest.
Can I just say, the vibe of the place even when empty was so hospitable, that we felt immediately at home there.
The food was AMAZING. The Green sauce, oh yeah give me 8 of them, please!
Schnitzel cooked to perfection, and the sausages, again absolutely delicious.
Overall our dinner came to 50 Euro or so.
We were advised that it was cash earlier on, so that wasn't an issue either. But by 6pm when we left, it was quickly filling up.
This is one place I would happily hunt down again whenever I visit Frankfurt in the future.
Awful!
Awful! Cannot understand how this place got such high reviews. Food was bland and tasteless. Got the beef - was like eating tough, old leather. Apple rings were bordering on burnt. Service slow. Then at the end told us they don't take card - only cash. Husband had to go searching for a cash machine. Must be better places than this to eat in Frankfurt!
Be the first to ReplyDelicious Traditional German Restaurant
This restaurant is on the south side of the river but don't let that dissuade you. It's highly ranked for a reason. We ordered some local cider, which was great. The traditional German sampler for an appetizer was ......interesting and made us wonder if we had made the right choice. However, the main course and dessert was phenomenal. We had the schnitzel, which was enormous, and a juicy pork chop. The topper was the dessert that was one of the best desserts we have ever had. It was a apple pie inspired dessert with ice cream. Absolutely amazing.
