Regulars preferred
Had a delicious dinner here when we were visiting LA. The hostess gives preferred tables to regular customers regardless of reservations. She tries to get you to sit outside even if it’s freezing and ignores reservation times. Once you do get seated food is good and service is attentive. Noise level isn’t too bad. I may try it again next time I’m in LA. Maybe they will hire a new hostess by then.
Be the first to ReplyExcellent authentic family Italian restaurant
We had a really lovely dinner here. Excellent pasta dishes. Delicious fish. Reasonable prices. Outside terrace probably the better place to sit, if the temperature is right.
Be the first to ReplyTerrible service and very average food - avoid
We were recommended this restaurant by a few friends but it appears this place is clinging on to its legacy reputation as both food and service were some of the worst we’ve every had. We were ignored on arrival for several minutes and once seated it took ages to be served. A hair was found in one of the starters and one of the mains (on mentioning this to both waiter and owner both accused us of making it up!). Starters (carpaccio) were good. However we waited nearly an hour for our main course and when it did arrive the food was very average and bland. When the bill came I noticed they’ve double charged for the wine adding nearly $250 more than what we owed. Luckily I spotted this before paying but there was little apology for the error. Given the terrible service I declined to leave the proposed tip of 20% on the machine to which the waiter seemed surprised. When I explained that the service had been so bad hence the lack of tip he exclaimed with a good dose of attitude that the timings had been the fault of the kitchen, not him, and he walked off like a petulant child. How this place has a reputation is beyond me - we eat out at restaurants all over the world from top ones to your family run local and this was hands down one of the worst experiences we’ve had for a long time. Avoid - there is much better for less around here.
Be the first to Replytruly disappointing
Dined there on 7/15/21. It had been a few years since I last visited. Everything went wrong. Our table was next to the champagne/wine area in the rear left of the restaurant. If you want a peaceful meal, don't ever sit there. The waiter asked us if we wanted drinks. When we declined, he acted disappointed...as if we were going to be a table that didn't run up a big tab. Finally, he came back to take our order. A full 50 minutes later, we asked where our food was. The waiter gave a lame excuse...something about there only being 3 pots in the back in which to cook the pasta. I was incredulous. After being reassured 3 times over the next 15 minutes that our food would "be right out," it finally arrived...bland and badly undercooked. I like al dente, but our pasta was basically crunchy. At least my soup was good. I can't say how disappointed I was in this meal, restaurant, and service. So many better options in Beverly Hills and the rest of LA.
Be the first to ReplyNot Italian food!! Don’t recommend it.
Hot dishes served cold, not Italian at all; no privacy whatsoever, owner doesn’t care much about the venues. Have yet to find to find a good Italian restaurant in Beverly Hills or LA for that matter. I suggest Spago if you want to eat well in Beverly Hills.
Be the first to ReplyReally good food and wines!
Special occasion or just want to treat yourself? this is the place...definitely pricey and noisy but really really good!
Be the first to ReplyAmazing place!
One of the best Italian restaurants we visited on our trip to LA. The decor is warm and intimate, with a transparent kitchen. The waiter was professional and knowledgeable how to handle allergies, and the service was fast. The food was superb: the homemade pasta was fresh, tender and delicious! Meatballs are highly recommended - they are soft and melt in your mouth. One thing to be aware of: the portions are on the smaller size and entries are pricey.
Be the first to Replyscrumptious langoustine
I love langoustine but cannot find it well cooked in the US. We had a langoustine in a spicy tomato sauce an it was scrumptious. the langoustine tasted fresh and perfectly cooked. Sadly, you only get one. I wished there were more. The tomato sauce was so delicious that I would have licked the bowl but being in Beverly Hills, I had to use bread to sob all of it and eat it after all my pasta and langoustine were devoured. The thin crust pizza was also crisp and not soggy despite the tomato sauce. We also had salad which was very fresh in a slight citrus dressing. the meatball in tomato sauce again was delicious. Cannot wait to go back again.
Be the first to ReplyA Neighborhood Gem
A guest at Beverly Hills’ e Baldi is transported to a cozy fish restaurant in Italy. Loud and bustling, tables are crowded and space is tight. However, you are going to e Baldi for its delicious food and A-list crowd. Unlike its sister restaurant in Santa Monica, there is no pretentiousness. Everyone is treated like an old friend. Standout dishes include the seafood carpaccio, truffled corn agnolotti, grilled octopus, Dover sole, broccoli soup, veal Milanese, and halibut — really too many to count! And save room for the butterscotch pudding (request it at the top of the meal), chocolate mousse, and tiramisu.

This restaurant was highly recommended to us by a friend and others. We had reservations. We entered to meet a hostess who did not smile or greet us,(she might be related to the hostess described in an earlier review). There were 3 or 4 tables seated. She brought us to 2 top, at the end of 7 or 8 tables in the center of the room. There were 3 tables in front of the windows, which she said were for 4. We then asked asked for the table in the corner. Those tables were soon occupied by twosome. Although dark, it was pleasant. Our server was pleasant and friendly. Food was served very quickly. Food portions very small, but ok. Not the fine dining experience we had expected. We won't return and will not recommend to anyone.
Be the first to ReplyFood and service both awful
The food was sub par and the service was slow and not friendly. This place has really gone downhill in the last couple of years.
