Avoid this place at all cost
The place literally sucks. First, they tried to squeeze 3 of us on a table for 2. We then waited 40 minutes for somebody to come and take our order. It hen took another 30-40 to deliver the plates. We ended up spending more than 2 hours there, with little to show for it. In the end, they brought us a bill in which they charged directly 25% for service without our prior consent! In these COVID times we are all for helping small businesses, but to do it that way was just greedy. Bottom line: nice rooftop but go spend your money elsewhere.
Be the first to ReplyBeautiful Decor but eat anywhere else
If you want anything more than an expensive place to enjoy beautiful atmosphere, eat literally anywhere else. First we were sat in a little greenhouse with no light- it had a cute wooden structure over it and it was dark, which was ok for a while, we pretended it was romantic. After 25 mins with no waiter, my hub got up to see what was going on and realized we had been locked in from the outside by a latch- odd. We first order the $20.00 Burrata which was literally a piece of fresh Mozz- not really a burrata, in the middle of the plate with 4 pcs of Proscuitto around it. No dressing, nothing- the most plain & expensive burrata Ive ever had. Now, as a Gnoccheria, you'd think the Gnocci was amazing, but it was mediocre. I had the Bolognese- decent flavor, super oily and way more meat than pasta. Also, my $19.00 Lady Verde drink was cheap gin awful- but that was taken off the bill. Also, there was aggressive techno music pumping so conversation was hard. So while this place is amazingly creative, and has a fantastic ambiance inside and out- eat anywhere else.

Worst experience ever, host Francisco was beyond rude and wouldn’t accommodate our reservation. I asked multiple questions and times to connect with the manager and he said one hour to speak to the manager

Mixed feelings on this place. It’s a nice rooftop but feels a little like beer trying to be champagne. The man checking us in was rude and not a great way to start. Once up the elevator and onto the roof top the scene is nice and the decor inviting. They have great table spacing and social distancing which is appreciated. For some reason there is obnoxious music pumping while trying to eat, it made conversation difficult. The wait staff were all very nice and attentive, however if you are looking for that classy rooftop vibe this isn’t it. They were all dressed in jeans and hoodies. The food was really good. We started with hummus and then split the house special gnocchi Tris which was three kinds of sauce. It was fresh and tasty. The tiramisu was also fresh. I liked the food and the staff(other than door man) but probably would not go back. The experience felt a little low class at high class prices.

I made 2 attempts to celebrate my wedding anniversary on their rooftop (Ampia) and both ended horribly. When I called to confirm my first reservation that I booked online, I was told it wasn’t in the system because despite having an email confirmation from the restaurant, “It was simply a request and not an actual reservation.” I was later and finally told that they weren’t able to keep up with the reservation requests after some press they received and had to move to only taking reservations over the phone. On my second attempt a few weeks later, I called early in the day to again confirm the reservation and to see if I should still come since there was rain in the forecast. I was told that because I was in one of their greenhouses that I should still come. Unfortunately upon arrival I was told by the hostess that they weren’t seating any additional tables due to the rain and before I could respond, I was asked if I had a reservation. When I responded yes, the hostess called upstairs and stated I was there for my reservation and asked what should she do. After a few seconds the conversation switched to Spanish which is rude and inappropriate especially in the hospitality field. The hostess hung the phone up and again repeated that they weren’t seating any additional tables due to the rain. I told her that I was told to come after speaking to someone earlier in the day which resulted in another call upstairs. After going back and forth and a total of 3 or 4 separate calls upstairs, I was told that the kitchen was now closed.....it was 8pm with people still upstairs. With all the hundreds of restaurants struggling to stay open these days, don’t waste your time on a place with poor hospitality.
