Dinner in Private Dining downstairs
There were nine of us in the Private Dining area downstairs on a Friday evening in May When the food arrived it was delicious but the service was just too slow . Waiting an hour and a half between first and main courses rather ruined the evening ,which was a shame as it was a birthday celebration . I think it was a case of too many covers and not enough staff .

First time I come and very happy with this discovery, very good service and spectacular food Thanks you so much team Almudena
Be the first to ReplyService was first class. Food was melt in the mouth. Excellent experience all round. Can't wait to go again.
Fantastic meal. Best tapas. Excellent night out just north of Marble Arch. Some of the best Basque food I've ever had. Thoroughly recommend
Be the first to ReplyGreat food but overpriced
Great food and service but overpriced. The service was good and friendly. The portions for the tapas are reasonable but on the small side given the pricing. The food was very well prepared and tasty - except for the turrรณn dessert which looked and tasted like straight out of a box from a supermarket.
Be the first to ReplyUnforgetable experience
A great place to go for lunch or dinner and taste delicious dishes. Everything is very clean, staff and chef are friendly, cordial and attentive. Highly recommended.
Be the first to ReplyChef creates amazing food
My family live in gijon in the north of Spain, I took them here because I know it wouldnโt disappoint and I have to say the food the chef creates and serves is so authentic and even more tasty. patatas brava sauce, sauce exceptional, potatoes too hard need to be more creamy and fluffy inside potatoes.Jamon Iberico personally prefere it cut in front of people on the bar by hand 8.5/10. The staff was friendly although the only thing I can say is that it was a bit cold at the table where we were but the staff moved us to another table. We really enjoyed the food because it was spectacular
Be the first to ReplyGreat place
We were there for a birthday dinner and everyone went above and beyond to make everyone and especially the birthday boy feel extra special. We took staffโs recommendation as to what to order and we end up having a delicious dinner with variety of tapas and mains and everything was delicious. Wine was great, recommended by Ina who was incredibly kind and knowledgeable and looked after us the whole evening. Overall, amazing staff and fantastic food.
Be the first to Replygood quality food, however overpriced
its a nice little place in Marylebone for those who are into Spanish food. The food was really good, but considering that this is not a fine dinning place, the prices are quite high. for the main course, which consist of just two small lamb chops and a very small amount of jus, its ยฃ26.00 pound. I would have understood if it was fine dinning or Michelin star, but its not, its just a small , cafeteria like place. If you go there, I would recommend croquets, they are lovely. And the menu is very limited, even for fine dinning ...
Be the first to ReplyNice celebration lunch
Had a nice work celebration lunch, croquettes, Prawns, steak, monkfish with squid ink rice, lovely warm freshly baked bread. Great attentive service
Be the first to ReplyGive it a miss
Food was very mediocre, unimaginative, plain, very small portions. I did not feel that the chef made any effort. This is probably one of the least tapas places in London I would recommend.
Be the first to ReplyReally great value in central London
Pretty damn good . Really enjoyed the bread sourdough, the seafood croquettes, the ham, and the lamb shoulder . The olives were as big as golf balls. Excellent friendly service .
Be the first to ReplyPolite staff. Expensive but good food. I will revisit. Food done and presented well. 3 mins from Marne arch station
Nice ambiance, polite staff. Good chef. Although expense it was cooked to the top Spanish standards.not far from Marble Arch
Be the first to ReplyYou must visit here!
It's the best restaurant ever! If you like high-quality food, you're must visit here! Jamon was so delicious, Rubia Gallega and the cheese cake it was the best that I ate before!
Be the first to ReplyDONOSTIA, SEYMOUR PLACE, LONDON - From excellent to less than excellent!
Donostia, once reliably exceptional for dinner turned out to be inexplicably dismal! One course 'Monkfish with Black Rice' was virtually inedible, whilst Padron Peppers remained good!! The prolonged sound of two children playing at the back of the restaurant did little to assist the experience. Can do a lot better!
Be the first to ReplyGreat food
We are a bit tapas crazy. Been to Sabor, Barrafina, Brindisa, Iberica, Jose etc...Experienced great food and service at Donostia, easily holds it own among all those other places, we will most definitely return.
Be the first to ReplyLunch
Excellent tapas. Good menu with a nice selection of dishes. The duck main was delicious. Friendly atmosphere and a great place for lunch.
Be the first to ReplyVery poor hygiene by one young member of staff
My wife and I decided we were going to visit London to be part of the historic events taking place due to Queens death. So we booked in advance lunch at this Tapas Restaurant. We arrived a bit earlier than we had booked. They were able to give us our seats at the bar. So that we could take in the full experience. What we got was not what I expected. There was a young guy working at the restaurant that left me shocked. The whole time we were there he NEVER washed his hands! He would be front of house and behind the bar, touching menu's, tills, handling food, cutting up our JAMON and placing it on the serving board. I was really taken back by this lack of hygiene. I even say the young man scratch himself around the groin area over his trousers. It was all too much to take in. I had a word with the young lady trying her best to keep the customers happy(As the young man didn't seem to have much drive/get up and go, for this establishment). Shame. I ordered dessert and the unwashed hands touched the dessert spoon. As soon as he left the spoons on our place matt, I asked him to give us new spoons after he had washed his hands. I could see by his face he was shocked that I asked him to wash his hands. But I couldn't take it any more. It's a great shame that one person can bring an amazing food experience crashing to the ground. The food was great, the drinks too. But on the drive home I felt very nauseous as I couldn't believe the young man didn't have a clue about hygiene. Not sure I can bring myself to go back here. Such a shame. 17/09/22
Be the first to ReplySuperb food, friendly and thoughtful service
Terrific food and a wine list full of rarities. Legendary cheesecake. Very considerate and friendly service team, a little slow but that was understandable on a very busy night. The best meal we've had in a long time: a great way to celebrate our daughter's results and overall a lovely family evening. Donostia is a gem.
Be the first to ReplyDelicious Spanish food in a warm Elegant setting.
We were warmly welcomed and our coats were taken by a charming staff member. We ate at the bar which is friendly and looks straight at the Kitchen. The Sevillian Chef and very well trained waitstaff helped us with wonderful Spanish wine pairings (waiters really know their wines!). Assistant Manager, Alex, guided us toward some truly outstanding dishes including the Mushroom Croquettes, the Tomato salad (very memorable) and the best Patatas Bravas weโve had anywhere. A sparkling white/Vino Verde From The Basque Region was poured with a delightful flourish and tasted as wonderful as the highly recommended cheesecake. The atmosphere is warm and lively. The kind of place where one might become โa regularโ. Highly recommend!
Be the first to ReplyDonostis - excellent evening at an outstanding restaurant
Outstanding food , wine and service in an attractive room with great atmosphere. Very good value too !
Be the first to ReplySimple but special
Visited on a busy Friday evening to celebrate my birthday with my mum. All the atmosphere of a crowded Spanish bar. Beautiful ingredients served with elegance, evey mouthful was sunshine and sea. Friendly service made the relaxed atmosphere feel special.
Be the first to ReplyFantastic food, great atmosphere and attentive staff.
We went to Donostia last week on a whim. From the moment we walked into the restaurant we were greeted with a friendly staff. We were seated on the bar stools, these are a seat with a view. Not only did we get to see the chefs make our food but the staff made us feel so at home.
We couldn't some things because of an allergy but they had some amazing specials on which were amazing, we had the pig cheeks in gravy, and a pork steak. I have never had food of this quality before, very talented chefs.
Honestly a perfect spot for a date night. Loved every minute, will defo be going back soon.
Great atmosphere, excellent food and friendly efficient service
Simple pintxos and tapas menu to choose from, several choices of meat, fish and vegetable versions of each, but every dish we had was excellent. Similarly, an interesting wine and drinks menu. The venue is smart, but casual, and the atmosphere was welcoming and buzzing. The service was efficient, friendly and helpful.
Be the first to ReplyIts changed food good service awful
Not like it was sad inexperienced staff. This place pre pandenic was incredible.
Now brexit hancock its not. It has some fine food but the service is shocking.
This place needs better staff and a manager who is in charge. We were sitting very near the bar. Despite this took ages to be even offered a drink.
Waitresses create stress because they want to take plates away prematurely. And the white wine not chilled!
But the food was lovely such a contrast. The staff even insisted we ordered food we had not and the manager Alex told us with pride he was deducting this from the bill! Thats !!!
A new concept in overcharging.
Advice dont go there on a busy night!
Definitely Not Basque, But A Good Spanish Restaurant
This place all just felt very confused, the name suggests a Basque restaurant, but to my mind it was much more Spanish than Basque. The food was fine in a sort of bland way, the wine was good but I doubt Iโd go back. We chatted with the excellent friendly staff, who also seemed a little confused by the change of direction it had taken. Maybe it will changed back after we all are allowed out again...
