Was not impressed
I've eaten different hot pots,and was expecting a lot from one of the top hotpot restaurants in Beijing. We came around 4pm there was no queue, compared to regular rush hours,which was good. The disappointment was in absence of condiments, there were just 6 sauces, and one was out of stock. Can not complain about food quality,but you can get much better experience in other places without having to queue up and more modern ambiance for same if not cheaper price.

Classic Beijing style hotpot. Good atmosphere, very local. The hotpot is of classic Beijing style, in small bronze pot with burning charcoal in the middle cone that heats the water up. The base is clear soup, and the lamb selection was tasty thanks to the side sesame-based sauce. Good desert selection too, try the โLuDaGunโ - literal meaning โdonkey rolling on the groundโ but is a sticky rice sheet wrapped around sweet red bean sauce. The yellow soy powder sprinkled on top of the sticky rice sheet make it look like a dusty donkey that just got up from rolling around on the ground, hence the name.

Halal restaurant popular for hot pots. You order a water based or mushroom soup and thin slices of lamb or beef. They bring the meat raw and you cook the meat in the broth for a couple of minutes. You can add tofu and vegetables to the broth.

I love hot pot, and this place gives a decent take on traditional Beijing hot pot. It lacks the variety of more modern styles. Expect to pay upwards of three times what normal hot pot restaurants charge.
