Would not but tickets again
This show was to honor the 100 year anniversary. How does this happen when you do not honor the films that helped put you on the map? It focused on low grossing, newer films. Haven’t even seen a few of them so I had no idea what I was watching. How would you not throw in Avatar, Snow White, Pirates,Frozen, Dumbo? No sign of Mickey either. Decent focus on Star Wars, that was cool but didn’t Disney buy the rights just a few years back? The original WOC was sweet but this felt confusing. Cool stuff with water and lights but not worth the money. People can stand on the bridge for free.

The viewing platform was the only benefit to paying an $89 per person fee. Check in was confusing as it is down a side street from the show and is scheduled at the same time as the first show so crowds are chaotic. The worst part of the event was the food. They served cheap cheese and crackers, grapes, and some bland uninspired desserts like a macaron and rice Krispy treat. Having been at WDW's dessert parties, this fell way short. I recommend finding viewing early and saving your money on this event.

We preferred this to the fireworks at Disneyland the following night. Its an immense 22 minute show (currently 24 minutes as there is a 2 minute Elemental pre-show) full of colour, music, huge fountain jets and mist spray projections. I think it really can't be missed. We experienced it via the desert party which is expensive for a family but you get a seat at the end of a long day which you don't get any other way. A couple of drinks (alcoholic or non-alcoholic) are included. We had tickets for the 9pm show, which meant our desert party reservation was from 8pm. We were passing the check-in at 6.45pm and were able to quickly check-in and have a table allocated and then continue on to ride Grizzly River Rapids and Little Mermaid, returning at around 7.40pm. There were people waiting and sitting around, but not many in a formal line. I joined the formal line near the front and was glad we did. Although tables are allocated already it takes a surprisingly long time for them to work through the line to get you to your table. We'd already got a decent way through our desert plate and first drink and folks were still in line to be seated. We were allocated table 29 which is pretty central front row, but its not a particularly good table as it had lots of the wall-top globe lamps blocking parts of the view so I ended up standing at an empty part of the back row of the World of Color viewing area when there were bits I particularly wanted a good view of, to the right of centre. You do want to be seated over to the right of centre so ask for that on allocation.

The World of Color at Disneyland is a beautiful water show experience with Disney music, movie backgrounds and water foundation. The colors are amazing and get there early.
Be the first to ReplyWorld of Color Dessert Party Delivers!
I travel with an electric wheelchair. 10 years ago I tried to see the World of Color and it was just too hard for me. This year I tried something new: World of Color Dessert Party! It cost $89 and included a reserved table and a platter of desserts, grapes and cheese. I'm alone so I shared my table with another family which was absolutely wonderful. I had a high table with a captains chair-I crawled up into, and the view was perfect! The cast was extremely nice to me and accommodating. You check in at the water wheel at the Redwood trail and they bring you to your seat. If you're looking for a special experience this is the one.

This is usually a good end to the day. You can get into a “virtual queue” -on the Disneyland app, queue opens at 12 noon which gets you into certain “better” viewing areas. Or you pay for a full course dinner at selected restaurants and get a “preferred” ticket area, which is central and slightly elevated. The view is definitely a little better from here, but we still were there 45 mins before the show to get the front area. The show itself was good, but it seemed more like advertising for various Disney films, rather than a coherent story. In fact, it started with a plug for Elemental! And the end was a poor fizzle out, I was not sure that it had ended, neither did many others. The whole show lasted about 30 mins. Was slightly disappointed at the end.

My family and I are big Disney fans. I have always loved world of color but this new world of color one was so disappointing!! I was so upset to feel this disappointed with Disney. The show was nothing like the previous world of colors. I look forward to this all the time but I will for sure not see One again. I hope Disney shows the old world of color. This one focused on race and equality. It showed all these newer movies not the old classics like Disney is known for. And I have to say with all the mention of equality there was not one white princess in the show!!! I am so disappointed with the effects. The old one had fire while showing clips from Pirates of the Carribean. This one has nothing like that.
Be the first to ReplyGreat new show! Get on the virtual queue.
We haven't seen the World of Color show in years. I don't remember liking it very much the last time I saw it. However, I heard that it had been updated so we decided to watch it again. We did the 12pm virtual queue so we had a special viewing area close to the front and center of the show. It is supposedly in the "wet zone" though so you can get wet. We were only misted a bit but I can see if the wind is blowing a certain direction, you could get quite wet. The show has definitely improved a lot. There is a Star Wars section and a Marvel section that we liked a lot. There is also a Ratatouille section which is always enjoyable. Anything to do with Remy is a plus. The show does have fire and laser elements, on top of the use of water jets and screens. Definitely recommend you see this if you have the time! The show is long, about 25 minutes!

Had the opportunity to see this twice while at California adventure and I wish I could of seen it more. Star wars, Disney movies, avengers and most importantly Walt Disney with great music. Usually held at 9 and 10:15. If you want to end your day on a great note, you need to see this.

I dont get it. I have zero clue how anyone is giving this 5 stars. I bought the $89 dogshit deserts, crapy drinks and garbage seats package. Get a high top, if you dont all the people standing are in your way for the show. 15 seconds of fireworks, lame as lame can be. Worst part is no one knew if it ended. Literally a guy walks over to the host and goes I just want to be clear there is nothing else. Such a confusing ending. I have no idea how there are only 4 and 5 star reviews. 9 of us paid for the $89 package from ages 10 to 68 and two people left early because it wasn't worth it at all. Honestly skip the show and the package.
Be the first to ReplyBest Seats in the House & Fab Dessert!
Highly recommend you order the Dessert experience! Before the show, they direct you to a waiting area, where they assign you a seat - everyone was selecting tables - and the gentlemen talked us in to reserving the higher director chair seats - they were worth it! We were centered and while towards the back, we had an unobstructed view of the World of Color - it was breathtaking! When they seat you, they bring a plate with fruit, cheese, cookies, sweet muffin, crackers, which could easily be shared with several people, but the plate is per person...they were giving to-go boxes for all that was left over. They offered drinks of sodas, champagne, beer, coffee, teas, juices, waters, etc. Staff were so joyful and attentive - we felt like we had the best seats in the house.

Glad it's back, superb visual experience. Make sure you plan ahead, if you don't have a reservation you will struggle to see. At the front you will get wet, bit not soaked.
Be the first to ReplyFantastic Show and Great Dessert Dining
We booked the dessert package for the World of Color. I would highly recommend not only the package, but the show. We read reviews before we got there so kind of had an idea of how things worked. We arrived early at the check in and were the second in line. We were greeted by Dan. I cannot say enough good things about Dan. While the rest of the family went and rode rides, I sat and talked with him. He helped me chose which table would be best and he was accurate. With this package, you get either a high top table or a regular size. Plus there is no one blocking your view. The dessert was fantastic. There was so much that we weren't able to finish it. But that was ok as our server brought us to go boxes. The free hot chocolate was great. As for the show, couldn't say enough good things. It was fantastic. Next visit to Disneyland will include this show and probably this package as well.

This show is amazing. Make sure you get a fastpass and sit near the front. The hosts at the fastpass yellow entrance were very helpful and nice. We were glad we stayed for the show. It's pretty impressive to see all the lights and water working together with the music.
Be the first to ReplyBetter than the fireworks show
At night the lake in California Adventures becomes aglow with colored lighting and water geysers. The show is synchronized with music and faces and scenes are projected on to the water flow. At a couple points fire shoots out of the lake. The coordination of all the features is masterful. I thoroughly enjoyed it and my grandson was mesmerized when the fire shot up, The show appeals to all ages. You can see the show from many places in California Adventure without reserved seating- you will likely need to stand unless you have arranged for preferred seating. Reserved seating can be arranged in coordination with dinner at certain of the restaurant venues nearby. The show lasts about 15 minutes.

Be sure to secure a fastpass in the morning if this is a show you’d like to see. We enjoyed the show, but probably wouldn’t wait to see it again. We didn’t enjoy sitting on the hard ground for an hour to save our spots.
Be the first to ReplySynchronized Music, Water and Light
The World of Color at Disney's California Adventure is a water and light show that is synchronized to music with Pixar Pier as the background. It is normally presented twice each evening and features about 1200 fountains (that can shoot water up to 200 feet), lights, lasers, fire and fog with projected video clips and photos on a 380 foot mist screen. World of Color does not include living cast members like Fantasmic! in Disneyland does. The show can be viewed from the Paradise Lagoon Amphitheater on the northern shore of Paradise Bay located in front of the Little Mermaid: Ariel's Undersea Adventure... a Fastpass should be obtained for entrance into a reserved section. The presentation ranges from 21 to 30 minutes, depending on the show... Celebrate!, Winter Dreams, Season of Light, Villianous.... The World of Color is a great show and worth the wait.
Be the first to ReplyPretty but not sure if geared towards kids
Some of the dinner and show packages due not really cater to any children and the show if way to late for littles, which is really too bad. I did enjoy the idea but to stand for so long just to be able to see it was almost too much. I do recommend trying it once but if you have little kids, skip it and do it when they are older
