Poor Service Policy
We arrived a few minutes early for our reservation. It was extremely noisy and busy as usual. The host asked if everyone in our party was there, I said no, our 3rd person just hopped on the subway and would arrive in about 15 min. She said we had to wait until all persons were there. We asked if we could be seated at our table and order cocktails. She said no, it is COMPANY POLICY that all guests need to be present. Because, of course, the whole place would implode if we were seated at a 4-top before our friend arrived. And just to be aware - our reservation would be cancelled at the 15 min mark. My husband and I walked across to Limani, which was also very busy. They said they could squeeze us in, we sat down, our friend arrived and 3 of us had a delicious meal with great service. I respect that the host at Del Frisco was doing her job as expected. However, the people that determine COMPANY POLICY should watch a few TED talks and consider the concept of serving the customer/client rather than strictly adhering to their outdated COMPANY POLICY 100% of the time. Or, they might pay some attention to restauranteur Danny Meyer and his well-respected standards of customer care. Del Frisco might also consider that as little at 1 1/2 years ago, they might have begged us to come to them and spend hundreds of dollars on a meal. And that there are about 10 other very good steakhouses close by, and hundreds in the city. As a patron of any business, I’m no longer willing to be treated as if my patronage doesn’t matter. I will surely be spending my time and dollars at one of the many other wonderful and welcoming steakhouses nearby.

Restaurant with a beautiful view of the pier, pleasant atmosphere and great service... try a wonderful fish with wild rice, it was totally perfect

Friendly faces that check you in, fast food service, friendly waiter. Resturant is a little tight if you sit at a table in the middle. Not many restrooms, constant line. Overall close to tree and great experience

I am currently sitting here in del friscos. I had a reservation at 7 but arrived at 6. The hostess was rude and told me “there were many tables ahead of us” I politely said that I would wait at the bar. At 6:50 I asked again about my table. I noticed several other people being seated. When I asked she finally agreed to seat me at one of the bar tables. I am still here waiting for bread.. asked and was told “right away”. I was told they were out of the short ribs so Im still waiting for my burger and my bread…

We made a reservation to have dinner. Great Service. Love the food. Great dessert! Definitely a great way to spend the night before Thanksgiving Macy’s and day Parade!

Happened to walk by looking for a place for an early dinner. Bar/tables were lively so we decided to try this restaurant, and glad we did. Our server was excellent, attentive, never rushed, we were very happy. Our meals were delicious, friend is a vegan and had the branzino which she enjoyed. I had the shaved steak sandwich which was yummy. Wine selection was varied too, found a nice Malbec. Glad we stumbled in to this restaurant, will definitely return. For the location, I felt prices were decent, not over the top.
Be the first to ReplyBeware, used to be great, now rude and unaccommodating
Wish I could give zero stars because we were turned away and told by a very rude manager on an obvious power-trip that he would not honor our reservation even though we were only 2 minutes beyond the 15-minute grace period and it was not our fault that we were late. The Radio City show we were at had ended later that scheduled and they had issues filtering the people out of the theater which was very frustrating. Terrible business practice. I mean, aren’t they supposed to be in the “hospitality” business? I couldn’t believe it. Never again. It’s one of those “we don’t care because we don’t NEED your business, we’ll be packed anyway” type of restaurant so do not expect warmth, friendliness or any type accommodating gestures.
Be the first to ReplyGood quality and good service
Good food from good quality ingredients. We got a little different as not everyone was equally hungry. We got e.g. A really good cheeseburger with fries and a glass of IPA beer. The rest got delicious salads, one got Caesar salad and two got tomato salad with burrata and some good bread. We shared a delicious huge dessert and had coffee.

Good value for money considering the area. Good choice of burgers, fillets and beers. Very kind staff. The only flaw: little light on the tables.

We were in New York for a pleasant family trip and after visiting the Rockefeller Center we stumbled upon these little places by chance and after our first dinner we returned every evening...finally healthy food...meat, salads and vegetables...highly recommended... stop by when you come to New York
Be the first to ReplyVery good meat, good staff
Really good meat, and that’s why you came for. The place is quite pleasant, although in a very touristic area. Our waitress was professional and kind, and she had good advices. Overall a good experience, a bit expensive but it’s part of being here.

Have eaten here many times, great value for lunch at Rock Center. My fave is the chicken w mashed potatoes and carrots, a classic but so well prepared. Great steakhouse atmosphere an service and if the weather is nice, the seating outside is gorgeous.

I like everything about this place! Yummy brunch offerings- had the lemon ricotta pancakes and they were amazing! Craft cocktails offered are not the ordinary. Our server was very attentive. Not my first time and certainly won't be the last.
Be the first to ReplyHAVE A BACK UP PLAN if you have a reservation here. OR just DON"T EVEN BOTHER.
I really hate slamming a restaurant on here, especially when the first time we went a few years ago, it was so amazing. But I had reached out to the restaurant the day after our situation. I was told a manager would call me back... they never did. I emailed LANDRY'S, directly, the parent company of ALL of the Del Frisco restaurants and about 50 other chains....they never bothered to email or call me back. I even filled out the online form asking for someone to call me back as my comments would't in their space allotted on that page....NO ONE CALLED OR EMAILED. So THAT is why I"m slamming them and giving a 1 Star. ZERO stars if that was an option. Here is what happened: I had made reservations using open table, over two months ago. I had dined at Del Frisco’s NYC back in 2019, celebrating my birthday and really enjoyed the experience. I usually visit NYC twice a year. Sadly, due to Covid, and with all the restrictions we had in Canada, we weren’t able to travel to NYC since 2019. I was so excited when we planned a trip to return this past December and Del Frisco’s was the first reservation I made. I’m very picky and particular when it comes to restaurants and reservations, so I was excited to visit Del Frisco’s again. Unfortunately, that excitement was crushed on December 8th. We were a party of 3, reservation at 7pm. (Reservation was made using Open Table, We had arrived at the restaurant a few minutes early, at 6:55pm. When I checked in with the host, she said they were running a little behind but invited us to sit at the bar. I understand that sometimes it gets busy and we can’t always be seated right at the reservation time. We couldn’t even get to the bar, never mind getting a seat at the bar as the restaurant beyond packed and overly crowded. The host took my number and said she will call me when the table is ready. So we waited outside. FYI, we had an 8 year old with us. We paced around outside back and forth for about 30 minutes. At 7:30, After not receiving a text/phone call or hearing our name called, I popped back inside to check on the table. Still packed to the max, I was able to push and squeeze my way back to the host desk and enquire. The host apologized and said they are still waiting for a table to open up. She continued to tell me that there were still people there from LUNCH who hadn’t yet left. I found that very unusual during this busy time that you would have patrons extending their stay when you have prior reservations waiting for tables. She took my number again and said she will call when a table is available. Looking around and seeing the other masses of people waiting to be seated, and given the time, now 7:40pm and not receiving any call backs or commitment about our reservation being honoured, we had no choice to but find alternative dining and left. We thought we’ll just pop into another restaurant for dinner while it was still somewhat of a reasonable time to be out with our daughter. We had GREAT DIFFICULTY trying to find an equivalent restaurant as a walk-in without a reservation. After trying FOUR restaurants in the area, we finally succeeded when we walked into THE REDEYE GRILL. We had explained the situation of what had happened at Del Frisco’s, how they left us hanging with nowhere to go. Redeye was fully booked in the main dining room, but they went out of their way to make up a table on the bar side. More than Del Friscos’s did for us WITH a reservation. We had a fantastic experience with fantastic service/waitstaff who attended to us and specifically our daughter. (Offered her chocolates when we first came in and while we waited just a few minutes for the table to be prepped). The night was saved, no thanks to Del Frisco’s. FYI, I had STILL NOT received a text or phone call informing me our table was now ready. It was later than we planned to sit down for dinner. The servers were quick to bring drinks, appetizers and dinner for us and our daughter. It felt great to be acknowledged and looked after. We put the stress and disappointment of Del Friscos behind us had enjoyed the evening. The next morning, still feeling ripped off and ignored, I decided to call the restaurant and try to speak with the manager to find out what had happened. When the host answered and I kindly asked if I could speak with a manager, she told me he was busy but asked what my concern was. I had told her everything that had happened the night before. I had asked again if I could speak with the manager. She told me he’s making rounds on the floor but will call me back. She asked for my cell number. I NEVER RECEIVED A CALL BACK from the manager. It is clear and obvious that at Del Frisco’s, patrons are NOT valued or given any priority, especially repeat guests. I am feeling disgusted from being repeatedly ignored and not being given the chance to have any follow up. There are far too many great restaurants in New York for us to really care for Del Frisco’s. But I felt you needed to know what had happened as you lose a repeat customer who has a story to tell others. Thankfully the rest of the week went on without a hitch and all our reservations were accepted without any issues or delays. After dining at Del Frisco’s in October 2019 and having a great experience, I had referred some family and friends who were visiting New York. I’m hoping their experience did not turn out as negative and disappointing as ours did.

Be the first to ReplyA Night to Remember. Not the Dinner!
My family and I were celebrating after a show at Radio City. My wife and I have dined at some of the finest New York has to offer but we had yet to dine at Del Fresco's. We arrived a little before our reservation time hoping to be seated but despite the open tables, we were told to come back around our reserved time. No worries. We went for a walk, came back and were seated immediately. Almost rushed to be honest. The tables seemed clean but reeked of bleach. Our server was polite but had no knowledge of the wine list. We were hoping to buy a half bottle but 2 of the 3 options were unavailable. The server gave me an iPad to look at for more info on one of the wines that they didn't have. I did not feel like reading. I just wanted to eat and drink. My wife's bubbly was not so bubbly but rather flat. I asked if there was a children's menu and was told flat out 'no' but then our server proceeds to list the items they had for them (Flatbread pizzas, burger and chicken tenders.) Sounds like a kids menu to me. We got our appetizers without utensils. I guess we were expected to spread butter with our hands. The Filet Mignon was very sad looking. No presentation whatsoever while the sides were served cold. The desserts were blah. We still tipped descent, (some of it is not our servers fault) but regret picking the place despite countless years of recommending to others based off of the reputation Del Frisco's hold in NYC. Never again.

Located right in the center. Very large and accommodating. We went for lunch. Salads. Burgers. Steaks. And fish. All perfectly prepared. Also a good spot for watching the tree lightning. It’s busy fun and delicious.

So good - we had the ribs for a starter based on the waitresses recommendation and they were genuinely the best ribs I’ve ever had. For mains we had burgers which were tasty. Bearing in mind how busy it was and it’s location we were really happy

Who serves raw pork and then tell the customer that a medium cooked raw chop is supposed to be like that. That was our server! No apologies that it was raw on the inside. Would not recommend unless you like food poisoning!
Be the first to ReplyDon't touch the plates!
Our party of four dined at Del Frisco's Double Eagle Steakhouse in NYC on June 11, 2022 after a play. The waiters brought out our plates which we very told were "very hot". They placed the plates in front of us, and my husband inadvertently pushed his away from him. He ended up with scalded fingers which he immediately had to submerge into a glass of iced drinking water. Not wanting to make a scene, we quietly advised the waiter that his fingers were scalded, blistering over and he was in quite a bit of pain. The waiter's response was "didn't they tell you the plates were hot?" We have been told plates are "hot" in a thousand restaurants, but never would you expect fingers to get burned and blistered from a quick touch. The waiter's reaction was non-fazed at best and my husband was offered "burn cream" at the table. Upon arriving home that evening, he called Del Frisco's and was put in touch with a general manager who offered a "gift card" that he said would be arrive by email. When that didn't occur, my husband again contacted Del Frisco's and spoke to the manager (Travis) who was on duty the evening we were there. Travis apologized and informed my husband that they would put in a request to "Corporate" for a credit on his credit card and the transaction would take up to six weeks. It has now been over six weeks and we have not been emailed a gift card, nor do we have a credit posted to the credit card. My husband once more called Del Frisco's before we decided to post this review and was promised a call back from Travis which we still have not received. This was an incredibly expensive dinner that we were unable to enjoy and this episode ruined the evening for all of us. Del Frisco's should be ashamed of the utter lack of empathy and disregard of customer satisfaction.

We had a nice 1 PM lunch for two. Shaded outdoor patio with a nice breeze and with a view over to Rockefeller Plaza. Good food, good service. Leisurely lunch.

We stopped in this restaurant from a recommendation form a sales person at Tiffany's. So glad we did. Best dinner we had the whole time in NYC. I had the scallops which were delicious. They know how to cook scallops. Next time we will have to try the steak. My husband had a chef salad, which was huge. He like the coconut dessert also. It is a little dark inside. Definitely will go here again when visiting NYC
Be the first to ReplyDisappointing!
We used to eat here often before the pandemic. We visited recently and will not return. The restaurant is clean and it was fairly busy. The food was tasty but the portions were ridiculously small! For example, cheesesteak egg rolls, which they are known for, two - cut in half for an appetizer, really? The bone in fillet was expensive and mostly bone with very little fillet. To make matters worse, our waitress was very slow.
