Da Henrietta London Reviews from The Last Year
Excellent food and service.
Really friendly staff who made us feel very welcome and with really good service. The food was excellent and will most definitely be going back.
Modern French inspired gem
Exquisite French inspired food with Jackson Boxer’s customary touch of poetry. The canele seaweed bite and oyster granita were perfect snacks to open up the appetite and the mind, the roast celeriac delicious and surprisingly layered with flavour, the duck orange olives greedily richly anointed and as perfectly pink as health and safety will allow. French but reborn for this century. And the desert …. Too busy eating to photograph this chocolate layered tart with intoxicating sabayon. Cosy richly coloured space, innovative cocktails, loved the elderflower sour Antoine, eager staff. Will be back soon to devour more of the menu!
Stayed at this quaint hotel in the beautiful covent garden
Stayed at this quaint hotel in the beautiful covent garden area and was so pleased with the cleanliness, amenities and service provided. This hotel is a must when you're looking for a great place close to the tube, shopping and dining.
A fantastic evening out for couples
Tried and finished the majority of the menu. All the dishes tasted amazing, nice variety and timing of the food coming from the kitchen to the tables was fine. Was a busy dinner service, and the staff handled it exceptionally well.
Great vibe and great food
Great vibe and great food. Asset to London. Good cooking with very fresh ingredients and in prime location. Authentic French bistro references, but fitting for a cosmopolitan setting.
Amazing food and wine
What an amazing experience. Everything was great and tasty. The service is great. The wine list is exceptional. Definitely recommended.
Beautiful hotel in the perfect location! Well kept with
Beautiful hotel in the perfect location! Well kept with wonderful customer care. I would definitely recommend and stay again! Shout out to the front desk staff, especially (ah, wish I'd gotten her name!) the girl with the long black hair. Appreciate all your help and kindness!
Overpriced rubbish
We went for pre-theatre drinks and felt ripped off. While we were sitting down the waiter asked 'can I offer you a glass of water' to which I said yes without thinking about it. I didn't realise that he was selling us a a large bottle of expensive sparkling water. My partner had an alcohol free cocktail which was mainly ice and had no taste. I had a beer, which came in a small unopened can. They don't have any draught beers. The bill came to over £21 for two rubbish drinks and a water we didn't need. Next time we will just go to a pub.
Had the BEST time with our wonderful host at the bar -Amy
Had the BEST time with our wonderful host at the bar -Amy (forgive me if spelled it wrong!). We didn't stay here but happened upon the bar - and can't recommend it enough! Wanted something in the area but not the noisy big bar scene and this was perfect! Also had so much fun visiting with others staying at the hotel who happened to come in for a nightcap as well!!!! Amy you have the best personality and make some amazing drinks!!!! Thank you for an awesome evening! The perfect "ending" to our stay in London!!!!!
‘Miracle’ at Henrietta - walked in, sat down, walked out!
Looking at the photos advertising this fun and kitsch Christmas cocktail bar, we were really looking forward to a fun interlude while shopping. Unfortunately, the photos, whilst showing the decor do not reflect the reality of the seating. Less a bar, more a café, with so many tables crammed in Tetris-style with fold up chairs tucked underneath the table covered in a holly-patterned oilskin tablecloth. Christmas music blared out and the noise from so many people crammed into such a small space completed the total assault on the senses. Fortunately, the staff agreed that as we weren’t happy, we wouldn’t have our deposit taken, and we’re allowed to leave without having to spend any money there. However, if you did want to stay, there were also souvenirs available to buy of cheap Santa mugs and the like for £20 or more, which probably cost £2.50 from the market.
Don t Waste your money on tiny cocktails that don t taste that great !
Don t Waste your Money ! The christmas bar looks fetching , but if i am honest its way over hyped . You can only choose the christmas cocktails on the menu so no other cocktails or beers , these were not that good if i m honest we had 2 rounds all different cocktails and too be honest none of these got close to a 7/10 , and tiny amounts - literally half a flute ! My advise is go to london & have some great cocktails but certainly not here ! Give this one a miss
Overpriced waste of time
After much anticipation we arrived for our 1pm slot. Unfortunately the way it’s organised means everyone in the Miracle room arrived at the same time . Once seated , I made the mistake of placing an elbow on our table , causing the whole thing to shift to my right around 45 degrees. While adjusting the level we were given a list of overpriced cocktails and told a simple lager or any other drink wasnt available. We placed our cocktail order - along with everyone else in the room at the same time. Anyone that’s been in a bar when the person in front of you orders 5 cocktails will know that doomed feeling . Now imagine it’s around 40 . Half an hour later our 2 shots of cocktail arrived . I say shots at they were minimal in size and tasted almost of pure alcohol laced with a subtle taste of coffee . The couple adjacent to us, were braver than we were ,as they complained , left their drink and departed without paying much to my envy. However , on a positive note , we managed to obtain a phone full of photos of 80’s decorations and numerous selfies I’ll never look at again . NB , my girlfriend who is brainwashed by Christmas thoroughly enjoyed the experience and I’ll no doubt be back next year !
Don't Waste Your Time
I thought this was a complete rip off. The staff in the hotel were not very welcoming, although the staff in the 'Miracle' room were much cheerier. The Christmas room was tiny. The chairs appeared to be wooden fold up chairs with a bit of fur over the backs, with basic wooden tables covered with a Christmas themed pvc tablecloth. Although the ceiling was nicely decorated the rest of the decoration was very basic. The tables were very close together, and the cocktails did not look like they were worthy of the price. We left very dissapointed. I would not recommend.
"Miracle"
After missing out last year, we were really excited we got a slot at Miracle to get us in the Christmas spirit. Whilst the decorations and vibe is very Christmassy, the overall experience was very disappointing and I would not go again. It's very clear it is a pop-up, with basic cheap tables/chairs and plastic table cloths (ours kept sliding off as there weren't enough clips to hold it on!) The drinks are overpriced and don't live up to the expectations flavour wise from the menu. Always frightening to think how little liquid will be remaining in the glass once you take out the giant ice sphere. Small cocktail glass without the ice was served half full, you're paying for the gimmick of being there with the decorations. Service was sub-par considering the charge added onto the bill; sat waiting to order a second drink for a long time before having to flag someone down. We were passed multiple times, all four of us with empty glasses. Didn't take away the empty glasses, even after taking our order so the new ones were put down as the old taken away - not ideal when you have a sliding table cloth and not much space. My friend had alerted them to allergies as part of the booking process and reiterated on arrival to the host, and again to the waiter. For her second drink, she ordered the same as the first. As they put it down in front of her, they said "Ah, gluten and nut allergy? I'm not sure you can have this..." She told them she had just had one and wasn't informed of the possibility of it not being suitable. To which the response was "You should be fine." Overall, overpriced and overhyped.
The Henrietta Hotel is a great refuge in busy Convent
The Henrietta Hotel is a great refuge in busy Convent Garden. It is run by London's Experimental Group and it's a success. Couple of things to note. The Rooms are great but keep in mind that you may be placed in a room across the street in their new building. This was a slight drag as i wanted to be able to go to the hotel bar in the provided slippers and i could not do that here. The other thing is that there is no "Lobby" the lobby is the bar and restaurant. They were very nice rooms and the staff was responsive. Oh, whether you stay there or not, drop by and try their bespoke cocktails and mock tails. They were hipster masterpieces.
