Met a few friends for dinner outside at coda di volpe.
Standouts: pizza & fresh pasta! Cocktail list was interesting: two people got the Strawberry Negroni, which they mentioned was light on the strawberry and heavy on the Negroni. We got a margherita pizza for the table which was the perfect appetizer before mains. For pizza, we ordered the rigatoni Ragu, seasonal gnocchietta (spicy), and spaghetti al nurano. The gnocchi and spaghetti were the favorites of the pastas, bursting with flavor. Service was great and our server was super knowledgeable about the menu and gave solid recommendations for a group of 4! Would go back! Ambience inside was super nice and it was packed for a Tuesday night - overall, a great date spot and place to meet with a group.

I really wish I had tried Coda Di Volpe sooner because I thought everything was fantastic, and it is right in my neighborhood! We went during a busy time, right after the cubs game finished, and we didn't have a reservation. I was a little worried, but we were able to snag two seats at the bar. They also had space in the back by the pizza kitchen, but we thought the bar would be more comfortable. There were two friendly bar staff and one buser who was working like a dog - cleaning, changing plates, anticipating needs for the regular customers. The oysters surprised me and happened to be phenomenal and no shells! Pasta and meatballs were also delicious. I can't wait to come back. I'm hoping to sit out on the patio before it gets too cold!

We came for an early dinner in Labor Day and had a great meal. There was no wait either, but it was busy. So make a reservation if you're a bigger party. We both got the lavender lemonade, and shared the arancini and rigatoni. Everything was awesome. The arancini comes in a creamy green sauce, and has corn in it which I've never seen before. Either way, it was divine. Then we shared the rigatoni, which was also great. We were told the portion is big, so they split it for us. Would love to try more when I'm in town again.

It was a gorgeous day outside so I decided to sit on the patio. A great call but sitting right next to the plants felt a little tight. However the nice weather and service made up for that in spades. I love a place that gives you a big pitcher of water so that was appreciated. By law I have to try the octopus if I'm in a city near a body of water so I started there and it was cooked perfected. Just the right amount of tender and the charring gave it a nice texture. For my main dish I got the spicy pasta with crab. It was the right portion for a hungry person but not too filling. I didn't find it particularly spicy but the pepper flakes gave it a good crunch and brought it all together. I finished with the lemon sundae which can be easily shared but it was just me. It wasn't too rich and I love lemon so the citrus flavor I loved. I cannot recommend this place more.

It started out nice. The place has pleasant atmosphere, although it is nothing special. The service was slow and indifferent/inattentive/borderline rude. I'm still waiting for our waiter to introduce himself. The food was excellent, but the portions are extremely small. We were told the $19 chopped salad was big enough for 3 men to split as an appetizer. Wrong. Maybe if we were 3 baby rabbits. I had their signature rigatoni. It was excellent, but for $27 I expect more than 3 oz. of pasta. I left hungry.

We had reservations for a Monday evening and were seated right away on the patio. Service was quick and attentive, which set the tone for a great night. For drinks, I ordered the Lady Lavender, light, floral, and the perfect refreshing summer cocktail, while my husband went with a beer. To start, we had the sea salt and wild oregano focaccia, which is an absolute must-try. The bread was warm and flavorful, and pairing it with the whipped ricotta was heavenly. For our main, we shared the Tartufo pizza. It had a nice balance of flavors with a subtle truffle note that wasn't overpowering. Overall, we really enjoyed our evening at Coda di Volpe. The food, drinks, and service were all great, and we'd definitely recommend it and look forward to going back!
Enjoyable Italian food
I went her with my daughter and her family and the restaurant catered to the young grandchildren with buttered kids pasta and cranberry juice in kids cups with cute straws. The service was excellent. My daughter got a strawberry cocktail and my son-in-law and I got glasses of wine. We ordered a basic pizza with red sauce and mozzarella and the grandkids shared some. The adults also shared an arugula salad, the corn and truffle arancini (delicious) and the Maccheroni e Pece (pasta). The food was very good or better.

Our server Pepper gave amazing recommendations and was very accommodating and attentive to our dietary needs and food preferences. We ordered the Wood Roasted Meatballs, Sea Salt & Wild Oregano Focaccia, Salsiccia & Soppressata Pizza for the table to share. The meatballs were good but I wish it was a little more flavorful. The focaccia and butter was phenomenal, definitely order this. The pizza was really good too and had a nice kick. The dough was really well cooked and the toppings were flavorful. The Spicy Mafaldine di Granchio was perfectly cooked and I really enjoyed the freshness of the dish, yet it was still had a depth of flavor and spiciness. The crab was perfectly cooked and went well with the dish. (Not pictured) The tiramisu came out for my friend's birthday with a sparkler (so fun!) and it was very delicious, the mascarpone was perfectly creamy. I have to give this place 5 stars, as everything from food, to service, to ambiance, was 10/10. I made this reservation for my boyfriend and i's anniversary weeks ago as I heard nothing but great things. Me being me, confidently shows up at 7:30, not realizing the res was for 7:00. I was about to cry. The hostess was beyond sweet, even while dealing with a rush of walk-ins and moving people indoors due to weather, she assured me she would make it work. Not even two minutes go by before we're brought to a table! Upon sitting, we're given menus that read at the top, "happy anniversary lauren & thomas!!" - cute and classy. Our server was wonderful and gave us his best recs when we asked. We ordered a bottle of cab, rigatoni con ragu, and a margherita pizza with bufala. Everything was perfect, even for my very picky and Italian boyfriend LOL. We had to try the strawberry gelato, so we ordered one to split. It was brought out with another bowl of gelato and sparklers for our anniversary. The gelato btw - amazing. All in all, Coda Di Volpe genuinely made our anniversary feel beyond special, and so fun to celebrate. I will absolutely be coming back probably 1000 times over. I can't thank their staff enough for being so sweet and accommodating to us!
Incredible food and amazing hospitality.
The host, server, and manager were extremely welcoming and kind. Focaccia bread is to die for, pastas were very tasty, and tiramisu was amazing. Thank you all!

First of all, sitting out on the patio on Southport on an august evening is just pure bliss. The focaccia appetizer was incredible. I also got the cacio e pepe with meatballs. The food here was the most authentic Italian food I've had in the US.
Tasty Italian dinner, thoughtful service
Met a friend here for dinner on a weeknight. The area, Southport Avenue, is a strong retail and neighborhood corridor, so even on a weeknight it was busy and fun, as was the restaurant. We had a good experience at the restaurant. It's got lovely decor and feels like a hip neighborhood establishment. Service was welcoming and friendly. Cocktails were delicious, and there was a nice wine selection. The menu is elevated Italian, with a heavy dose of seafood, in addition to pastas. We started with a couple of great appetizers. There was then a long delay before the main courses. Our server noticed this proactively, and the manager came over to apologize and offered us a free round of cocktails--that is the way restaurants should handle such things! Our entrees arrived and were perfectly prepared. Overall, a nice experience. I would happily return.
Fantastic Gluten-Free Options
We came here for an early dinner on a Saturday because they have good gluten-free options for my celiac girlfriend. As an appetizer, we split a gluten-free margarita focaccia bread/pizza. I’m sure it could’ve been a meal on its own. My girlfriend enjoyed the gluten-free pasta as well. I had the super diavola pizza. Originally I wasn’t going to get a pizza but I saw that they are nationally renowned and everybody’s pizza around me just looked so good. It was fantastic with a thinner crust and packed full of flavor. The service here was great. They were very attentive and quick to assuage any concerns about gluten cross-contamination. My girlfriend felt very safe eating here and it made for a lovely date night.
Awful Food and Avoid the Cocktails
Visited the restaurant on Saturday for dinner and had a really terrible experience! Started with their cocktails and they served us one with Chili Bitters! Unfortunately it was not stirred so almost choked with a burst of Chili flavor! Next we ordered the Grilled Octopus salad ! The Octopus was fine but the salad had red chilly in it and was extremely spicy! The Argula and Prosciutto Pizza was just OK and we had the Tiramisu which was terrible! Really sweet and a frozen variety like you could pick up at a grocery store! The bathrooms were surprisingly dirty with toilet paper all over the floor! The music is loud and the conversation noisy … hard to hear across the table what your partner is saying! Expensive at $ 50 plus per head for a Pizza dinner! Yet another neighborhood restaurant unable to accommodate the Saturday evening crowd!
Good not great southern Italian
Pasta was good. Small portions for price and shocked at a southern Italian restaurant with NO BREAD. The best part of meal was the pulpo appetizer.

This place is amazing and I already can't wait to go back for another dinner experience! I say experience because the service ( thanks Jack!!) was wonderful and the food is delish! The place is beautiful and there is fun seating inside and on the patio. We ordered the following items: Arancini Primavera, the Chopped Italian Salad, the Bucatini Cacio e Pepe and a Margarita Di Bufalo pizza. There was not a morsel left on any of the plates! Strongly recommend this place!
Food was good.
Service was better. Sat in the patio last night and our server was new ( only a week on the job). We asked her for suggestions and her recommendations were very helpful. One of our friends was gluten intolerant so she made some good suggestions for him. Kept checking on us to make sure we were good. Sorry I forgot her name but management made a good decision hiring her.
Love this place for a date or a casual night out.

What a fantastic evening! Service was absolutely top notch, the staff was friendly and helpful and the food was the best we have had on this trip! Sous Chef and Manager stopped by our table and were absolutely lovely to talk to. The rest of the staff from the host to the Waitress and staff were lovely and made us feel like this was going to be a very good night. And the food was brilliant! Highlights included the Grilled Octopus and Arancini, Bucatini Cacio e Pepe and Chicken Diavola and the pizza was amazing! We had deserts that I would go back for and their house Sangiovese was brilliant. Will absolutely recommend to anyone traveling to Chicago that would like a lovely night out.

Really like the ambiance. Place can get pretty busy and thus loud. Have gone two times. Loved the two pizzas we had rustica and salssicca pizzas. Both were good. Cauliflower fritella was generous. Italian salad s dressong wad so vinegarry we were coughing and had to ask for oil. it still did not help. but everything else was great so will take advantage of sitting outside when summer comes

We had a group of 4 for a brunch and I'm thankful we got a reservation which I'd recommend if you want to be able to sit on time or plan to snag a bar seat if you're lucky. The seating is well laid out in bright large space with the wood and oven easily seen, where your delicious pizza will be cooked. The service was quick and friendly and did an amazing job never forgetting about us even though it was a busy Sunday. We started with a glass of wine and grilled octopus. The wine was delicious and our waiter was able to give good guidance to make sure it was enjoyable. The grilled octopus was more of a salad which was a surprise but a good one, it was awesome. We followed that with two pizzas and some fresh pasta. The cacio e pepe was cooked perfectly, aldente with a balanced sauce. Each pizza was exactly what you want in a Neapolitan pizza, an airy crunchy crust and very thin. The tartufo was a blast of truffle while the salsiccia had some lightly spicy sausage with a outstanding red sauce. This is a place to hit!

The Directir of Operations (Kayla) and waitstaff took very good care of us when we were there for our anniversary dinner. Great place to celebrate with friends, family and colleagues. Love the traditional VPN-certified Neapolitan pizza -cut with scissors- just like we had in Sorrento, Italy. And the bartenders make fantastic cocktails or get my fav - the Frosé (Frozen Rosé). Beautiful restaurant on Southport, with a great patio in the summer.
Hands down the best restaurant in the Southport corridor.
The food is amazing and I love that they change the menu each season to fit what is in style. The food is always so delicious and will never be disappointing. I have to say my favorite time to come here is near Christmas time because of all the decorations and how cozy they make it feel inside. For special events they also make customized menus, which are SO CUTE.

I came here for the first time with a group of friends to celebrate my birthday and doing a candle making class across the street. They made special printed menus with the date and a happy birthday message which was such a lovely touch! One member of our party did the restaurant week lunch menu, and the rest of us did different pizzas. We really appreciated they were able to accommodate a mixed tables. All of the food was delicious and felt like a good value to the portion and quality of the food, our server was very nice, and we didn't feel at all rushed leisurely having our meal and desserts while waiting for our candles to be ready to pick up. I would definitely return!
Good pizza in Chicago
There were 4 of us for dinner and we were satisfied with both the food and the service. The place was full of people but the waitress Maria served us quickly and in a friendly and professional manner. The pizzas we ate were excellent. Recommended restaurant.

Superb dinner and drinks
The food and drinks are delicious, creative, flavorful, and fresh. The service is superb - attentive but not intrusive, never rushing. Our highlights were the Corn & Truffle Arancini, Heirloom Tomato Salad, Casarecce, and Summer Squash Pizza Napoletana. The Delfino Plaza cocktail was the drink winner, and were several after diner amari. The only minor criticisms is the acoustics - it is loud. But well, well worth it!
Great neighborhood southern Italian
We were looking for somewhere to eat prior to the Springsteen concert at Wrigley. We wanted somewhere walking distance but without the pregame / preconcert chaos. This was a great choice. About 3/4 mile, 15-20 minute walk to Wrigley. Very lively atmosphere though it was packed on a Friday night. We started with cocktails and the corn and truffle arancini. Really good starter and the cocktails were very good. And then I had the the spicy malfadine di granchio. Spicy crab pasta with a long wider wavey noodle. This was great. One thing I’ll mention is this is a Southern Italian restaurant and they stick to that and do it very well. They don’t have dishes from all over Italy and some may think Italian restaurants are Italian restaurants. Check the menu first if there maybe something specific you are hoping for. This also goes for the wine. I’m pretty well versed but southern Italian wines and Sicily aren’t in my typical wheel house. I took a shot and ordered a wine. It happened to be $100. I should have done some research first. It didn’t rate very highly and I though it was pretty simple, almost like a red table wine. Not bad but definitely not worthy of the price tag. I would definitely revisit as a legit pre or post game meal. Penny of outdoor seating too.

Review is for dinner at the bar area; Bar area is open officially until 10:30 in a Saturday with full menu. The area stays open later. Restaurant is very attractive. Bar area is very large with comfortable leather high bar chairs around the bar. Excellent food. Crudo, arancini, and spaghetti highly recommended. Good cocktails including an excellent non- alcoholic option. I've been with a friend as well as by myself before meeting friends out. Very high end relaxing experience in the neighborhood.

We went here last Thursday night. There was a good vib. The pizzas and drink menu didn’t disappoint . The tuna crudo appetizer was the best thing I have had all year.

I came to Coda Di Volpe for their 2023 Restaurant Week menu and was sadly a bit disappointed. The branzino was too salty, and the fritto misto and olive oil cake were pretty lackluster. I'm kicking myself though while reading these other reviews on how excellent the pizza and pasta are here, so I will definitely be back to try those! Nevertheless, the service was excellent and the restaurant is beautiful inside. Maybe just opt for their pizza and pasta dishes!
A beautiful spot that features an amazing menu.
They had a beet burrata which I personally thought was incredible. Very different from your traditional burrata, but it really show cased the talent of the chefs and how they put together Italian flavors yet maintained their own identity.The pasta was amazing. Don't get me wrong, it was incredibly good, but the desserts really stood out to me as special at this place.The plated item is an apple tart (my apologies if that's incorrect), but it's a crispy apple filled pastry with rosemary gelato. We also had vanilla gelato and something else; however, that dessert was phenomenal and without a doubt the highest quality dessert I've had in a while!Our waitress was fabulous too. She was doing an amazing job monitoring our drinks throughout the night and keeping us hydrated!

Our server was so professional and guided us through the whole menu and was very attentive to our needs. Very satisfied with my experience.I was overwhelmed by the experience here. The pasta was fresh, the flavors were out of this world. The size of the entrees and flavors left me very satisfied. They had a good drink menu too and the overall experience was good. It was quite expensive but truly worth the experience!

Our waitress was attentive when she needed to be and the supplemental service was excellent (fresh plates and silverware were promptly renewed after each course). The ambiance was nice and particularly cozy without suffering from too much noise from neighboring tables. The Fritto Misto was quite good, delicate and delicious. The Trombetta con Funghi was a pleasant surprise given the amount of mushrooms, I would highly recommend. My favorite was the Lonza Cotto, as this dish was complex yet balanced, if you haven't tried I would highly recommend. the Chocolate Tartufo was very good, nice and rich while also velvety. We also got the olive oil cake, my only ding is this could have been richer with the olive oil. This was our first time in and we will be coming back as the pizza looks phenomenal. The curated southern Italy wine list is also enticing and reasonably priced.

What an unbelievable experience at Coda Di Volpe in Chicago. Menu was nicely appointed , food was perfectly prepared and the service was second to none. The wait staff was so amazing never missed a single detail. It was so refreshing with most places making customer service excuses post Covid this place is doing things so right. If in the Chicago area do yourself a favor and make sure you pay this place a visit you’ll be so glad you did.

Great dinner with friends. Nice glass of wine at the bar before sitting down to each, very busy and we had made reservations. Very good Italian menu and wine list. Enjoyed meal, atmosphere was good and so was service. Would recommend this restaurant , popular neighborhood with lots of shopping opportunities too

1.) Setting a Reward (Bid)

* Peter really wants to go, so he increases the bid (or reward) to $200.
* At this stage, the reservation does not exist yet.
2.) A Community User Picks Up the Bid
* MaternalRecord73, an experienced AT user, has a strong track record of successfully securing reservations and low refund requests, they receive a notification about Peter's bid.
* MaternalRecord73 picks up the bid, meaning they will now work on securing the reservation.
* Peter can now talk to MaternalRecord73 for any questions Peter may have as MaternalRecord73 user fills the bid.
3.) Finding the Reservation
* MaternalRecord73 now uses their connections at Coda di Volpe Chicago to secure the table.
* If they successfully get the 6 PM table for four, Peter receives a confirmation that the reservation has been secured.
* If MaternalRecord73 fails to secure the reservation, the bid is returned to the pool so another user can try.
4.) Payment & Protection
* Once the reservation is secured, MaternalRecord73 receives the $200 reward which is credited to MaternalRecord73's AT balance, where users manage their own funds and can withdraw via available payout options such as bank transfer, PayPal, or Zelle.
* Peter can now enjoy the dinner with his friends at Coda di Volpe Chicago!
