This restaurant at the Marriott Resort has been shutdown for several years the building where it was is just sitting there and is a real eye sore in a very beautiful resort.

Good snack food cooked freshly, But cheese for nachos came out of a squeezy bottle. Nice open seating area. Friendly service.

This is a very nice restaurant. We had Yoshida as our waitress and she was spectacular. The manager is Teshana and she is also excellent. This is a very friendly place to have dinner. The food is excellent. No lobster this time of year, but the rest of the menu is excellent.
Be the first to ReplyGreat food, wonderful service at BLU!
We stayed at the Marriott in St Kitts and had dinner twice at the restaurant BLU. The food is absolutely delicious! The first night I had the scallops while my husband had Mahi Mahi. We were so impressed that we went BACK second night and had lobster.
Aside from tasty, fresh food and beautiful ambiance, the service at BLU was EXCELLENT! Both times we were lucky enough to have Yashida as our server. Yashida and all of the staff were friendly and attentive. Yashida made great recommendations and made sure that we had everything that we needed to enjoy our meal.
Thank you so much Yashida and BLU! Can't wait to come back again next time we visit St Kitts!
Marriott's Blu Lost
Since 2004, Blu has consistently been our special island seafood oasis, white tablecloths topped with blue runners, pleasant staff, formal ambiance and delicious seafood dishes... an evening's 'special' treat.
Surprise!
Reminiscent of a roadside cafe's decor, we were greeted on a February evening with a half full restaurant featuring vinyl placemats on bare wood tables. Instead of menus being presented in the usual upscale embossed portfolio, a well used single sheet was placed on our table. Ironically, Chilean Sea Bass, a special treat featured on the online menu, was, we were told, only available in the Marriott's Royal Grill, a separate restaurant known for beef dishes.
We chose the grouper which was deliciously prepared. Service was excellent. Unfortunately, dinner prices continue to reflect an upscale experience while the ambiance previously associated with 'dinner at Blu', rather sadly, no longer exists.
For a special 'seafood dinner' evening out with ambience, try Serendipity overlooking Basseterre Harbour.
Amazing Decor with Food Plus Service to Match
Blu is a terrific seafood restaurant on the Marriott Hotel & Casino “campus” - we loved the interesting lighting and wooden ceiling-mounted “lily pads.” The food was very good and we recommend the pasta with shrimp and the stuffed lobster tail, particularly. We were able to take half the pasta/shrimp home to enjoy the next night as an hors d’oeuvre along with the half bottle of wine that went unfinished that night. Lovely service and a real treat next to the main pool on the complex.

We dined on the buffet night and there were only 2 choices for our main meal: lobster and chicken. There were 4 of us and we all enjoyed the lobster! The lobster was delicious! The salad bar had a lot of options but there were flies hovering around as we made our choices. They had a table set up with small desserts that looked much better than they tasted. The air conditioner wasn't working and after a brief rain storm we asked that a window be open to let in a much welcomed breeze.

Blu is the flagship restaurant at the Marriott Resort. There are a few other really nice places to dine on the resort property, but this really stood out as the best because of location on the beach, elegance of surroundings, professionalism of the staff, presentation of food, and quality of prepared food. I would highly recommend Blu.

We ate here for the Lobster night (Monday) and were very pleased. The lobster was a good size, cooked perfectly and we had a wonderful server, Aslyn. They had a salad bar which had some great selections, I especially enjoyed their mango caesar dressing as well as the local salads. The dessert table was loaded with lots of options to please all tastes. We had planned to go back again but ended up having friends join us in the Lobby bar so decided to hang out there. Our friends ate there almost every night of their trip and said everything they had tried was delicious.

Ate at Blue twice. Once was off the menu. Excellent seafood (seabass and red snapper). Also ate at the Lobster night. Was also very good. Only bad thing to say is MARRIOTT NEEDS TO TURN ON THE AIR CONDITIONING!!!!

After reading some of the negative reviews my wife and I almost skipped eating here on a recent stay at the Marriott. Thankfully we went with the majority. Here are some of the complaints and our experience:
Service is slow: Our service was spot on all night. We were seated promptly and with a smile; our waitress was at the table in less than a minute; everything proceeded right on the pace you would want and expect in a good restaurant.
You can't see the water through the windows: I will acknowledge the windows are a bit fogged up due to age and condensation in a tropical climate but by 7:30 its pitch black outside so I'm not sure what the complainers expect to see anyway!
The restaurant is indoors/why not take advantage of the ocean location - Well, after a long day in the sun many folks prefer the indoors and, in any event, while we didn't do it, we notice a couple requested to dine outside and they were promptly seated and served at tables adjacent to the restaurant.
While the motif of the restaurant is a tad outdated (as is the entire Marriott for that matter) it was just fine for us. And the food? It was very good. Not 5 star but a solid 4-star. I would recommend the fresh fish. My wife had the snapper and I had the grouper. Both were excellent. And the portions were much bigger than what you usually receive for the price.
I notice that a number of the TA reviews are of the special Monday night dinner, particularly the positive ones. That threw us off too as we weren't certain to expect on a Saturday night. Not too worry. The menu was extensive and the food was very good. If you are staying at the Marriott its a good choice.
The work of a great chef using fresh fish and locally grown produce
The restaurant is not fancy, but the food and service are something to write home about! My daughter and I went for the three-course special, with locally caught lobster, vegetables grown in nearby Nevis and a local dessert that was fabulous! I highly recommend this and will definitely go back when I'm in the area again.
