Very satisfied
We ate very well and for once during our stay, the service lived up to the obligatory “tip” (tip). So yes, it's a little expensive, but not much more than elsewhere in New York and I ultimately find that the quality/price ratio is correct. Plus, eating inside Grand Central Station is cool :-)

Imagine yourself comfortably seated in front of a carpaccio, a vitello tonato or scampi fritti, a glass of d'Antinori in front of you and above all, a breathtaking view of the legendary lobby of Grand Central Station. The magic happens and you will share a moment of bliss with your table companion(s). A little expensive but so unusual :)

Good quality tasty food and plenty of it. Great surroundings and atmosphere. Highly, highly recommended. Love this place.

This was a great place to relax and enjoy the views of beautiful Grand Central ceiling from a quiet perch. We enjoyed our Bellinis and delicious Italian food.
Be the first to ReplyRestaurant with a view
When you have out-of-town visitors, there are a few places that might be interesting for them. It might be a bit tourist-y, which usually means pricey. This spot is one of those place, inside the Grand Central Terminal. Since they are located on the higher level, you get to have a magnificent view of the terminal. I asked for the table with the view, but when we arrived, they wanted to sit us at the back… The lovely hostess told us that if we were willing to wait for the staff to clean and re-set the table, we could have the table with the view. We of course waited. It took a while, but I say it was worth it. We were all feeling some kind of pasta dish on this day. We ordered Organic Cipriani Spaghetti with Branzino and Cherry Tomatoes, Bucatini Cacio e Pepe, and Organic Cipriani Tagliarelle “alla Bolognese.” What I really liked about is that they brought the extra serving in a metal container! For that, I feel as if the high price point is more reasonable. I must say I was not expecting much from a kind of tourist-y spot, but they were all really good! And they don’t make it easy to say no to dessert either. They don’t bring you a dessert menu, they bring you the whole dessert to your table to see what they are!!! They also bring you complimentary cookies. Yes! Out off the dessert plates, we chose Vanilla Meringue Cake and Vanilla Mille-Feuille. They were both nice sizes, big enough to share among the three of us. Not the best desserts I’ve ever had, but it was good. We had a pleasant lunch here with a great view of the stars on the ceiling of the Grand Central Terminal. The food was pretty good, and service was ok too. I would definitely put this spot as one of top restaurants to take my out-of-town guests in the future!
Be the first to Replyconsider for lunch
we ate here by chance having ended up at Central Station at lunchtime. The little girl had fallen asleep and they made us a baguette with ham to take away. We ate tortellini, ham and melon and it was all very good. Friendly staff and attentive to requests.

We only went for drinks so cannot comment on the food. The service was excellent and very friendly and we had a couple of bottles of prosecco whilst admiring the beautiful location- Grand Central Station is amazing. Spend some time looking at the ceiling decoration and the ornate grandeur and enjoy !
Be the first to ReplyNice but missing welcome
The location is nice, inside the Grand Central Station and it has good atmosphere. The hostess was polite but not kind as well as the waiter. None of them has welcomed us or even asked us if it was our first visit. On the other hand, the food was delicious. The staff of the second turn was really nice, smiling and polite. E ordered a rosted rabbit, Pasta with ragu and zucchini risoto.

If you enjoy great Italian food...this is the place for you. After the previous disaster at an 'Italian' restaurant not a mile away, this was a revelation. Busy, buzzy but exellent real Italian service ( I think he was once one of Tony Soprano's crew) and superb cooking. Not cheap but worth it.

The place is original, the service was just perfect and the meal from start to finish was delicious, Cipriani quality, nothing to say
Be the first to ReplyA good place for some quality food in Grand Central
I was on my own and needed something small for lunch. Sitting at the counter watching the world go by, I had the chicken club sandwich with a glass of wine and fries. All was delicious and the servers were efficient and friendly. No complaints here
Be the first to ReplyTouristy!
This restaurant was quite noisy and busy given the location. Food was average and service was sloppy. If you are in new york and want to admire passage mural, this is the restaurant for you!
Be the first to ReplyGreat service AND vegan options! ❤️
Called in for a quick coffee having had a look round Grand Central. We were seated at the bar so decided to add a glass of fizz each. Then decided we were peckish but I’m vegan so wasn’t expecting much! Our server was brilliant, she went through the bar and restaurant menus explaining the ingredients and how they could be adapted! Ended up with soup, which sounds boring but was delicious! What a great experience watching the world go by, with great service! This will be on my must do list next time I’m in NYC!

It’s all about the view, ambience and watching the world. We were served by a chap who as really surly and he made us feel uncomfortable. We ordered drink and he dumped them on the table spilling each (the wine is served in the tiniest of glasses, which I know is tradition but not to my liking). He just left them. We had to ask for towels to clean up.
Be the first to ReplyTrifecta: no respect for customers; overpriced; poor quality
Avoid this overpriced tourist/commuter trap. Employees try their best but are hobbled by arrogant management. A beautiful location is marred by a "customer always wrong" mentality. NYC has thousands of better places to spend your money than this overpriced fraud of a restaurant.

Came here after Campbell bar disappointment. And it was excellent… really superior but not overdone service, great recommendations and the flair is simply amazing with the grand central hall behind you. Will be back!
Be the first to ReplyHOT POCKET PASTA
This place is fancy and I definitely didn’t fit in. I couldn’t understand majority of the menu, so naturally I just googled pictures of the menu items. Everything we ordered was delicious. However if you are/have a picky eater order the Baked Tagliolini with ham. The best way I can describe the pasta is that it tastes EXACTLY like a ham & cheese hot pocket and everyone at the table agreed.

So nice to sit at the top of the hub of where its all happening in such a grand place - Grand Central Station is iconic and to be able to eat there and absorb the atmosphere was fun. Italian food was very good, lovely veggies and good service.

What better way to enjoy the amazing Grand Central, then eating at Cipriani. Hostess was super nice and made sure we were comfortable. Serving staff were very nice and meal was great too, we definitely spend more time here than we normally would. It is a very relaxed atmosphere, one must experience.
Be the first to ReplyIconic Location but great Service too - Outstanding!
It would be too easy to think that a restaurant from Cipriani located in Grand Central station New York would just be an over expensive tourist trap with nothing much else going for it.
You’d be wrong.
We always wanted to try it and a family visit to New York finally provided the opportunity. We’d had to change our reservation due to travel issues during Covid, but the quality of service from the moment we booked to the arrival process (Covid and ID check done professionally) the brilliant table we were given and our waiter (Luciano) and Maitre D’ (Antonio) were just outstanding. Then there was the food and wine - just fantastic, true Venetian fare in the most fantastic setting under the dome of the main hall of Grand Central.
We had a party helped along by all the staff led by Luciano and Antonio.
It turned into one of those special events that memories are made from.
Thank you to all and we shall always treasure our Cipriani Dolci night and I’m sure we will return. Just outstanding.
Unbeatable atmosphere
There's nothing like dining under the gorgeous, seemingly sky-high ceiling of Grand Central. To witness the hustle and bustle of this magnificent spot is truly something special.
The food here is also fantastic and the portions are generous. I especially love the eggplant parm, and the smoked salmon platter was also quite good too. I was also surprised with how much wine they served us, which was a pleasant surprise. It's always a treat at Ciprani's.
Overrated. Interesting location.
Located inside Grand Central station, this establishment offers a unique location.
However the food id an americanized version of the Italian Cipriani.
Kind staff.
Cocktails in Grand Central
As my wife and I roamed NYC during our holiday visit, we stopped for a cocktail. Cipriani Dolci is a cocktail lounge on the mezzanine in Grand Central Terminal. The location is great for people watching as you look out over the main floor of Grand Central. Cipriani's offers many cocktails, has a full bar and small appetizers. It's a great location to meet friends, have a drink and people watch.
Be the first to ReplyBest chocolate cake I ever had!
It was raining, we were done with MoMA, and needed food. After a bit of walking, we thought about Grand Central Terminal. There were other eateries in the vicinity, but we remembered this marvellous restaurant at the top of the stairs inside the stunning main hall. The food was excellent! I wasn't sure I was going to like the spaghetti with fish, but it was delightful. My partner's pasta was also scrumptious. Our drinks were fine, but the highlight of the entire meal, almost the entire day (we were at MoMA after all) was the chocolate cake. My mouth waters just thinking about it. Plus, free people watching! Can't beat that! Granted, it isn't cheap, but it offers an experience few other restaurants can.
Be the first to ReplyThe staff prioritizes the tips of their male regulars over the safety and well being of women.
I witnessed something very disturbing at the Cipriani location in Grand Central this evening.
I needed to kill some time while waiting for an Apple Genius appointment. When I sat at the bar at 6:45PM, I noticed an older man aggressively hitting on a woman at the bar. She was facing away from me, so I thought I just couldn’t hear her, but shortly after, I realized that the woman was completely incapacitated. He was asking her where she lived and he could take her home in a very flirtatious way (not a helpful way) and saying that she “owed him” for paying her tab. When I closed out at around 7, I wrote a note to the bartender saying I was very worried about the safety of this woman. The bartender said “He’s a regular here. He’s not going to kill her, but he’s going to try to have sex with her.” and then he laughed.
I was really disturbed by this comment, but I am ashamed to say I didn’t know what to do or how to help the drunk woman beyond this at that moment. I basically froze. The bartender then took her drink away. The man then got up to go to the bathroom, and before going aggressively kissed her and fondled her. This woman could not sit up right. Another woman at the bar noticed this, and asked me if they knew each other. I said they didn’t, but apparently the male customer is a regular. The woman tried to get the bartender to help, and he told her the same thing he told me, but instead of freezing, the woman lept into action. She told the drunk woman to leave immediately and get in a cab, but the drunk woman could not get out of her seat. The woman then helped her up, and other staff got involved to help the drunk woman stand and get her address so that she could be called a cab. The woman actually escorted her to the taxi, and the staff were no help beyond this. This lady is a total hero. I wish I had had the presence of mind to act like she did, but mostly I wish the bartender had the presence of mind to act like she did.
When the man came back from the bathroom, he laughed with the bartender about how “you win some, you lose some” and that she was that drunk when she got there, which if that’s true, I don’t know why she was served at all. The guy tried to turn to talk to me and I called him a pervert. He laughed and said "oh, totally." and then I got the hell out of there.
I am never going to Cipriani again. The staff clearly prioritize the tips of their male regulars over the safety and well being of women.
