My Birthday surprise
This was a surprise organised by my wife. We turned up early to an empty restaurant, but were well looked after and guided to a beautiful table in a wonderful setting. Within minutes the restaurant started filling up as we enjoyed our champagne. The food was beautiful, all three courses, and was well spiced but this did not overpower the natural flavours. Hektor and the waiting staff were exceptional, always there when needed but not intrusive. The drinks were a little expensive but this did not detract from the experience. We loved it.
Be the first to ReplyVery noisy, wine overpriced
The Indian fusion food is tasty and unusual. The wine list is unnecessarily complex and way overpriced. In addition the waiter tried to push inferior wine at a higher price. The really off-putting factor is the noise. It was impossible to hear the person on the other side of the table and spending the evening shouting across the table is not my idea of fine dining! Perhaps cash flow has triumphed over cuisine leading to too many tables and the grossly overinflated wine list.
Be the first to ReplyAbsolutely outstanding!
Truly an outstanding, once-in-a-lifetime experience. The atmosphere is so terrific in the old, 19th-century library space. We did the tasting menu, which was pure heaven, and the wine pairing were wonderful. The food was mind-blowing, but it's really the service that makes this place exceptional. The staff was so genuinely warm and sincerely excited about the food .... this was a very special night we will be unlikely to ever forget.
Be the first to ReplyWOW!
I have wanted to eat at the Cinnamon Club for a while and finally did this weekend and I have to say that I was not disappointed. The building inside is lovely, service is really slick and the food is amazing. I would definitely go back again
Be the first to ReplyWonderful restaurant in an exceptional setting
What a spectacular restaurant! Situated in an old public library with a great ambiance and spectacular food. Even the alcohol-free drinks were exceptionally good. Extremely friendly personnel, highly professional. We had a delightful evening.
Be the first to ReplyHigh end Indian
Quite a busy place for a weekday but enjoyed the dishes I had including the desserts. It is a high end Indian so don’t expect volume of food.
Be the first to ReplyDIFFERENTLY DELICIOUS
This is an Indian restaurant but chicken tikka masala or lamb dopiaza will not be on offer. I like both, but, no worries, for this is a fine dining establishment and we were looking for something different to standard Indian fare. The food here is indeed different - and delicious. My starter, camphor and sandalwood flavoured free range chicken breast, was exquisite. My wife's starter was a broccoli dish and this humble vegetable was elevated to a new level. Our mains and desserts were also excellent. Whilst this is fine dining, it's in no way pretentious. Service was efficient and friendly and the ambience is great for this is a former library and books line the walls still. Not cheap but not over the top expensive either. We came with high expectations and the reality was better still. Full marks.
Be the first to Replycreative Indian in a warm atmosphere
I love the atmosphere, in a library! Indian recipes reinvented with a modern touch but well rooted in the traditions. Italian wine sommelier to recommend good pairings.
Be the first to ReplyExcellent modern Indian cuisine
We attended a themed dinner event with matching wines. We had not been to The Cinnamon Club before and this evening has certainly tempted us to go again. Chef Vivek Singh was in attendance and spoke about the food and wine and came over very well. The menu was: Carpaccio of Shetland salmon and caramel jhal muri Clove smoked Anjou pigeon, pumpkin and peanuts Char-grilled Obsiblue king prawns, Alleppey curry sauce Tandoori-spiced Balmoral Estate venison, black stone flower reduction Warm dark chocolate mousse, chocolate and chilli ice cream Two Indian wines from Sula Vineyards were served as good matches as well as others. A very good evening and we will return.

Check out the food hygiene website Scores On the Doors before you book. Used to love this place and was very disappointed after a looooong night having eaten here…
Be the first to ReplyGolden wedding anniversary dinner
A huge thank you to Ruchi and her team for arranging a fabulous 50th anniversary dinner for my parents-in-law yesterday at the Cinnamon Club in Westminster. Excellent location of two tables for 20 of us and the food was delicious - amazing lamb, chicken and veggie dishes with kulfi and cake to follow. Ruchi kindly arranged special menu cards to make this a truly memorable occasion for all of us. A huge thank you also to the team who looked after our tables on the evening. A hugely enjoyable evening which ran very smoothly.
Be the first to ReplyGutted - go for taster menu and matched wines or forget it
Went for a birthday treat, had heard amazing things but was totally disappointed. Through a combination of being forgotten, having the courses come out at different times then the bill incorrect it just really made for a thoroughly disappointing experience. the food was nice (the pudding was not at all and when collected the waitress almost laughed 🤷🏻 ♀️) When I challenged this when the bill was presented I was met with hostility and a response of ‘I chased it for you…’ then then forgot the coffee and petit fours which were tasteless also. From the other reviews I’m not alone but I am truly gutted…I wanted to come her for so long…my advice…wait till you see better reviews…and don’t expect to get any attention unless you are 9 course with matched wines…then you’re fawned over.
Be the first to ReplyGastronomic delights at one of London's finest restaurants.
This was an excellent lunch at the Cinnamon Club. The restaurant has historic value, being the old Westminster Library, I have been visiting the restaurant for 22 years and Sam constantly boasts a gastanomic and superior experience across the service and extensive menu. The restaurant has an excellent menu, one could be biblical with the heavenly array of taste, Raj the award winning chef truly engages spice, texture and a delight across all the dishes, there is no question that the menu and extensive wine list has something for everyone. No question about a return to this fine establishment, my colleague equally was hugely complimentary about the fine lunch. An award winning experience.

On Tuesday 12th of July we went out for diner in the Cinnamon Club. The setting was nice, the restaurant is located in an old library. A big problem was that the space was very noisy. The service was okay but a little bit slow and chaotic. All of us took a starter and a main dish. The food was fine and tasty. When we asked for the bill, we paid cash. First they said we couldn’t pay cash but we were tourists and we had to get rid of our pounds. The amount was a bit more than 331 GBP (something like 331,70 GBP). We paid a little bit more than 132 GBP. The waiter took the money but didn’t count it. When we left and I was waiting for my backpack at the reception, the waiter came after me and said that I didn’t pay enough but no problem, he would pay the rest himself. I said this was not okay and I asked the woman at the desk to check the amount we paid. She counted everything and it was obvious that we paid enough. The waiter disappeared without saying anything. No excuses! I said it was extremely rude of the waiter to accuse me unjustly of paying too little. Never in my life I was treated in this way. Never again am I going to this restaurant.
Be the first to ReplySo slow we walked out
We went to the Cinnamon Club to celebrate my birthday but it was a disaster. We booked for 20:00 and arrived on time to be told our table wasn't ready, would we take a drink at the bar. OK, fine. The bar waiter served a group of eight who had arrived after us first so we had to wait. Not a good start. At 20:25 we were shown to our table which was the worst in the house. We complained, given the wait that we had, so we were moved to a better table. At 21:15 a waiter wanted to confirm we had ordered <whatever>. It was wrong - no further explanation was given. At 21:25 we gave up and walked out. We told the reception staff we were leaving. In their defence they looked devastated and begged us to stay but we just couldn't believe that they could recover the situation. We offered to pay for the drinks but they did not charge us.As luck would have it a customer waiting at reception said "you've just made my mind up for me - we've been waiting for ever too" Also, the couple we sat next to were looking at their finished main course when we sat down and 50 minutes later when we left they were still looking at it. This was a Monday night on dangerously hot day when I would have imagined they would be quiet but it was bursting at the seams. Interestingly our neighbours, who are fans, ordered take away from the same restaurant that night and it arrived on time. I think they have their priorities all wrong.
Be the first to ReplyTerrible experience after 20 years of patronage
My wife and I have been coming to the Cinnamon Club for over 20 years and we recommend it to friends who are coming to London as an exceptional experience. Our last visit was anything but exceptional. I brought our two adult kids and my brother and wife. Upon arrival we were seated in an anti room that looked to be an overflow. The room was sweltering whereas the main room was air conditioned. Because of the heat wave we let that go. However when you go to a restaurant like this you pay for the experience not just the food. The waiter suggested that we have the 20th anniversary butter chicken at £70 for two. I confirmed that it was no just dark meat but that it also had breast meat as my wife prefers that So we order two of those and appetizers. The appetizers that we got were delicious and then they brought the 20th anniversary butter chicken. Well it was in a magnificent bowl but looked mor like soul then a chicken in a gravy. As I started to dish each piece out I noticed that they were all rib bones with the dry metre of the wing attached, not a whole chicken. When I asked the waiter he brought the maître’d over who explained that this was a poussin and it was meant to be small. This did not explain why every last piece was effectively a chicken wing. Finally after they discussion they sent over three chicken breasts that were very delicious and up to the level that we would expect. They ended up charging us for two of the chicken breasts and one of the butter chicken wing soup. We left the restaurant feeling extremely disappointed and quite frankly ripped off. It is sad that we will not be going back. There are so many great choices for Indian in London but this up until now was special to us.
Be the first to ReplyPerhaps a less than good night in the kitchen
Have been here a few times before - and loved the extraordinary, imaginative, vibrant new Indian food! Perhaps we made a mistake to choose the tasting menu on a very busy night! Service very slow and hard to get; had to ask a couple of times just for water. Some dishes really splendid (as we remembered from before) - especially, prawns with Alleppey curry and cured salmon; but others bland and less inspired (e.g., smoked pigeon and venison), with limited opportunity for main ingredient to show thru and mild accompaniments. Time between courses often very long - perhaps most was close to 30 minutes for an insipid scoop of ice cream with sprinkles.

Evening meal with the wife - first time here after a personal recommendation singing it’s praises. Great ambiance and surroundings are a bit quirky and different and set for a fine dining experience. Staff friendly and polite but a little poor on knowledge on their menu and needing a little prod when drinks fail to appear, but pretty reasonable overall. Starters very tasty, beautifully presented and perfectly sized - we were nicely set up for the mains. King Prawn and fish dishes with the usual accompaniments - all very well prepared, but not a fan of the fish sauce. Service overall was good and food much appreciated, but when you compare the bill and judge the value, then it’s a disappointing good rating overall - you get a very nice meal that’s way too expensive but importantly totally lacks the wow factor in taste service or overall experience. Absolutely nothing wrong with the restaurant, just ranks mid table in my books.

Whilst the food was fantastic, the service was poor. We are a young couple and previously visited with parents and it was noted that we were treated very differently. We were the only a la carte table to not receive the amuse-bouche, our empty glasses from the start of the meal were not collected, those on the tasting menu received a course and had their plates cleared before we had our empty plates cleared. For the price paid, we expected better service and felt like an inconvenience to the staff, all for what we could feel like was because of our age. We were very disappointed with this and felt not welcome.
Be the first to ReplyWhat an amazing experience!!!!
I have recently visited this place with my partner
and we had a great night out.
An amazing experience!!!!
We had a lovely dinner following their
recommendation on choice from a la carte menu'
in a great environment.
The atmosphere, the food and service it's just top
class!!!!
The wine chosen by their highly professional
Sommelier Mr Giovanni it was a delight.
I was highly impressed by his knowledge and his carisma.
Thank you to everyone at the Cinnamon for a
special night out we have had.
I can't recommend this place highly.
We will definitely be back soon.
Shocking
We visit London every 8 weeks, this was my birthday treat. After eating at Cinnamon Kitchen Battersea,we booked Cinnamon Club.I read a few bad reviews yesterday & thought they must be wrong.
Along with 3 other couples had a 15-20 min wait for our table.
The service was the worst we’d ever experienced.
The head waiter did not give a dam.
We asked for advice with spice on the menu, he really couldn’t care less.
We ordered drinks that never came, our plates were cleared & no dessert offered, after 20 min we simply requested the bill.
A couple at next table had the taster menu, we watched in disbelief as each course was plonked in front of them, they attempted time after time to ask what was the dish in front of them.
The food was ok,such a disappointment from a great rated chef, who’d wowed us at his other venue.
I would never ever recommend this place.
Seriously check your head waiter, he’s ruining your business.
Superb lunch, top service.
Superb lunch, top service. Varied menu with vegan choices. Relaxed setting with excellent staff. Highly recommended
Be the first to ReplyFabulous food, poor service- a big change
We have eaten at The Cinnamon Club many times over the years and have always been very impressed with the standard and quality of the food but also the knowledge and attentiveness of front of house staff.
Sadly since our last visit, front of house standards have definitely diminished. The service very was poor. Orders unfulfilled, drinks not poured and having to ask a number of times for requests to be fulfilled.
Although relatively busy, it was a Wednesday evening! There didn’t appear to be a lack of staff, Just not enough with the correct knowledge or training. Will think carefully before visiting again.
A shame as this should be a flagship for modern Indian cuisine.
Fantastic our favourite Indian restaurant
Fantastic as usual, service great, food great had the Holi special menu and we throughly enjoyed it.
Giovanni was great in recommending the wine to suit and very attentive service.
Not sure where a couple of the previous review eat at but think they must have got restaurants mixed up!
It’s an old listed building so not sure what people expect it to be like as much can’t be changed..
Recommend to all and will be back soon.
Awful service, over priced, no spice, small portions oh and care less service
I get that people don’t get out much anymore, but this place has had its day. Add grubby to the list. All I can say is people have no clue.
Jog on, stop trading on the ‘glory’ of an old to show.
