Loved everything
Staff make this place amazing, we have been helped by Effie for our booking and she is amazing, loved her approach and the way she has helped me made me feel good about eating at this place. We have been served by Adrian, he is wonderful took care of with everything, he has been great. The food is amazing we all loved it and oh the french toast was amazing. We will definitely come back and recommend it to everyone. Thank you so much everyone and the kitchen.
Be the first to ReplyVery disappointing
Pretentious establishment. Drinks over priced, under delivered - in quality and measurement! Staff too invasive. Drinks made quickly, but left on the bar for too long very delivery. Would never go back or recommend.
Be the first to ReplyDisappointing, lacklustre service
Having been to Christopher's a number of times a number of years ago for special occasions, we were looking forward to eating there again. All started well and our order was taken by a fairly lacklustre waitress. She read the order back and having forgotten the Burrata all seemed to be listed. After delicious starters our main course arrived, but simply the main plates and neither of the side dishes. Eventually we got the waitresses attention and she said she would check. I watched her going through her pad and entering the items into the system, clearly they had not been ordered. She came over after about 5 minutes to say the vegetables would be a short while. By this time we had almost finished our main courses, as we couldn't wait any longer. We said we still wanted the side dishes but that we would not be paying for them. Eventually the vegetables arrived and we ate them separately. The correct action would have been to take the main courses away and re-do them at the same time as the vegetables, so everything came at once. No apology and nothing from anyone in seniority. We had also ordered two additional drinks, which we had to remind the waitress about. When they arrive, it was a cabarnet sauvignon instead of a sauvignon blanc. We decided to finish what we had and ordered no dessert or had any additional drinks. Obviously we didn't pay the service, which didn't seem to be any surprise and again no apology or attention from a manager. Very disappointing and definitely will not be returning.

I would highly reccomend this restuarant, staff were helpful and attentive, building is stunning. The food and wine were perfect. Loved it , i will be back.

A beautiful restaurant in the heart of London. Convenient location, great service and really nice food served beautifully. Would definitely go back again.
Be the first to ReplyBad service. Greasy and bland food. After brunching all over the world, this is one of the worst places.
I have had brunch around the world on my travels and this is one of the worst places. I agree somewhat with the previous two reviewers. If you want dirty, greasy, bland and ordinary food with awful service and rude staff then please come here. It's all in the name and the hype around the famous 'French toast'. I didn't have it as it looked sickly and sweet. Most people that ordered it near me only ate a fraction of it or shared. Even then no one finished it as I am guessing for the reasons I mentioned above. The menu looks good on paper. Think eggs, pancakes, steak, salads, cheesecake and more. Hearty American food. Having said this not all portions are huge like the USA, depends on what you are eating. Everything is greasy! I ordered a black americano and egg white, avocado & tomato omelette. Food is all freshly prepared and piping hot. Bad presentation. No care. Thrown in a plate. The omelette should be healthy but had so much oil in it (think greasy hair)! The avocado was half black and there was part of an egg shell in it. The americano was just average with a half filled cup and barely any coffee. Staff are beyond rude and service is slow. Rude. The Dining Room is nice. Very elegant. Tightly spaced. Very busy on a Saturday afternoon but it had a nice ambience. You need to book or there is the Martini Bar downstairs which is more casual where you can also have brunch. Clean. If you want to tick it off your list or enjoy greasy food, then go. If you are looking for quality food and proper service, go somewhere else. There are better places in London.
Be the first to ReplyAppalling
Appalling service, terrible food, ridiculously expensive wine! I had the steak and eggs (£37) the steak want rested so there was blood and juices all over the plate .. French fries were extra! And these were undercooked. The wine, a Malbec, was £50!! A poor Malbec too (£12 in the shops? Finally the service was possibly the worst I’ve ever experienced .. arrogant, rude, and lazy.
Be the first to ReplyAvoid it
£174 for one cocktail 2 courses and a bottle of wine. Ignored by the staff and given a table near the lavatories. Food very ordinary.
Be the first to ReplyNew year .. good experience
So the reviews are certainly mixed. We went New Year... full house. I'd echo that service is maybe a little slow, but putting that into perspective... many customers and stretched serving team... they did their best and i have no complaints. Team were friendly and always delivered.. food was expensive but certainly well prepared and perfectly acceptable and I'd return. The evening started with free champagne and ended with free champagne.. Cocktails 100% ...really good! For the location and ambiance, quality it's worth visiting and a thumbs up...
Be the first to ReplyAwful
Really disappointed with my recent visit, I brought guests from different cities and I visit quite regularly. I am embarrassed that this is where I chose to take them. The food was below standard and the staff were preoccupied gossiping in the corner, the bar manager was also involved in this. Not what I expect from Christopher’s at all. I requested the service charge to be taken off and received a terrible response from the staff and was made to feel uncomfortable, we could visibly see they were discussing and laughing about it. Nobody bothered to come over to ask why we weren’t happy with our experience. Staff need to be trained better and need to communicate attentively, also a smile wouldn’t hurt. If they aren’t happy to be there, they should not be working there. I complained to the gentleman at the front desk who listened patiently but I wasn’t sure how seriously the complaint would be taken.
Be the first to ReplyAwful. Greasy food. Bad service.
I travel a lot and eat out constantly. This has got to be the worse dining experience ever. Service was awful. All food looked sickly. If your going for the famous chocolate brioche French toast don't bother. I didn't have this but most people were ordering it. Looked messy and sickly. Surprisingly noone finished it. I ordered the egg white omelette but got a normal omelette instead that I didn't ask for. Awful. I didn't send it back as I was hungry and in a rush. Greasy, fatty and tasteless. My pink grapefruit juice was left standing out and I had to chase for it. Looks good on paper. If your into high calorie fatty diner food then go. Me personally, would not waste my time again nor my money. There are better places to have brunch. I sat in the Martini Bar on a high seat stool shared table without a reservation which had a nice vibe early on a Sunday afternoon. Probably better to make a booking if you want to sit in the dining room. I eat a lot of eggs but this was the worse omelette I have had. I actually feel sick as I write this having just left.
Be the first to ReplyDon’t listen to negative reviews
Found Christopher’s online as was looking for a good steak restaurant for my boyfriend’s birthday dinner. Saw a couple negative reviews about the service, but glad I didn’t listen to them as we had an amazing time from start to finish. Received a really warm welcome from the staff and had no problem changing our seating plan when I asked if we could be sat by the window. Drinks were delicious and didn’t take too long to come as I’ve seen in a couple reviews - this could be because there was only the two of us. Food was quite expensive, I had the Wagyu burger and it was £22 for the burger alone, however it was delicious and was very filling. We didn’t order dessert but we still received a scoop of ice cream with a sparkler as I had made note it was a birthday meal, so that was a nice surprise for us both. Overall, we had a lovely 2 hours there and were looked after well by our attentive server, I believe his name was Adolf. Would definitely recommend for a birthday meal and I would love to come back again and try the brunch.

Booked a table for 2.30 on a Saturday we hoped to have a couple of cocktails at downstairs bar first but told it was too busy. We had all arrived by 2.29 but was told to wait even thought restaurant was half empty. Menu mainly a brunch menu and didn’t change till 5pm. Decided just to have drinks and go elsewhere service was slow bringing the drinks had a couple of pornstar martinis very weak not even to top of glass and then wanted almost £16 for service charge which we didn’t pay. Will not recommend or visit again.
Be the first to ReplyDisappointing birthday meal with friends
Bar - Had to remind staff of our order by flagging someone down. Then, we were not told when our table was ready, so ended up sitting down later than the booking. Doesn't seem to be consistent communication between front desk, bar and restaurant upstairs. Restaurant - When seated, guests didn't have full sets of cutlery, had to flag staff down to order drinks. Burger was £20, without any sides or even a salad. Fries were another £5+. Not many options on the menu for vegetarians either... Staff didn't clear finished drinks from table, and had to continue flagging staff down to order drinks and then deserts - bearing in mind the restaurant wasn't busy for Friday at 7pm. Allergy concern - waiter refused to hand my nut allergy note to the kitchen. After repeated request, they refused and said they didn't need to so I gave up. This doesn't give customers confidence in staff, nor is it good customer service. Considering most of the deserts contain pistachio and almonds and I am severely allergic. I'd hope the restaurant would take this more seriously for other customers... Did not pay the £30 service charge when paying for the bill, due to the lack of service throughout the experience. Not in any rush to return, disappointing service especially in Covent Garden, pricey food, nothing to shout about overall.

Be the first to ReplyCan't understand the harsh reviews!
I'm surprised to see so many negative reviews for this place. I dined here on Saturday and from start to finish my experience was great. I hadn't booked a reservation but they were more than happy to seat me as there was space in the restaurant. I wanted to try the chocolate French toast and even though it was too late to order off the brunch menu I was able to order it from the dessert menu and they didn't quibble that I wanted a desert only order with no main which a lot of London restaurants like this don't allow. From ordering it was less than 5minutes before it came out and it was really delicious. It was a really sweet dish that was almost to sickly to finish but that was exactly the chocolate overload I was hoping for! Good as a sharing dessert if your having starters and mains. The waiter put my phone on charge for me while I ate and also got me a pen and paper that I asked for. The waiters were very attentive I was never left waiting, perhaps in part due it being an earlier sitting (6pm). I'm surprised to hear so many comments on the prices as they had lots of main options for under £20 which is very reasonable compared to similar establishments, for example I dined at Harry's Dolce Vita for lunch on the same day and the service and value for money here was better.
Be the first to ReplyRidiculous cancellation fee
Had to cancel on the morning of the visit due to one of us falling ill. Charged us £35 PER PERSON for cancellation even though we gave as much notice as possible under the circumstances. We had booked for brunch, I doubt we would have even paid £35 per person to eat there and due to how busy the restaurant is I’m sure they managed to fill the empty slot quickly anyway. Cancellation fee is far too steep, understandable if we didn’t give them notice but that wasn’t the case.
Be the first to ReplyChristopher’s was recommended by a fan for French Toast and it DIDN’T disappoint. Peaches & Cream French Toast mix🔥🔥🔥✅
So Christopher restaurant has the Peaches & Cream French Toast mix with a scoop of vanilla ice cream. Which just melts in your mouth, a very nice combination! Enjoyed it but then I also wanted to see what I would make of their other popular Chocolate French Toast which breaks all my rules and I don’t usually try…..but my teammate wanted to share it, was immediately regretting it as it was a lot and I did really enjoy the Peaches & Cream French Toast mix. It was to much for a French Toast mix imo, Chocolate or any sort of Nutella spread doesn’t belong the iconic syrup, fruits is more than enough for me Classic. Peaches & Cream French Toast mix Stole the show. Great ambience in there liked the chilled out vibe, seats were little tight for me and my teammate but they had other seating too. Service was good.

Visited on Sunday morning as was told the food and decor is amazing so went for a birthday treat. We’re seated upstairs lovely decor and but tiny tables for 4 it was very cramped! sat waiting for water and had to ask twice after 25 minutes of ordering. Asked if they had veggie option of their breakfast waited to be told waitress never came back. Then ordered food which came out wrong (hard poached eggs) and my friends toast was burnt so sent it back. No apology nothing so I said we weren’t having a good experience the waiter just shrugged his shoulder. Staff look miserable other than one young girl. Would expect really good service with a smile but instead they really didn’t care. The bill then came out wrong sp sent it back to be amended. They took the service charge off at that point realising it wasn’t fair to charge it but again no apology or anything. Very poor for very expensive food which tasted bland. The waffles were really good everything else standard.
Be the first to ReplyReally Dissapointing
We booked for 11:15 but arrived 10 minutes early. We were seated right next to a swinging service door and a wall mounted speaker which became very annoying after 10 minutes. We were served coffee straight away then didn't see anyone for another half an hour. We had to ask a member of staff if we could order some food. Then there was another wait for an omelette and pancakes. We were happy to get out of there. I really was expecting something great.
Be the first to ReplyOverpriced lukewarm food
We visited on a Saturday and granted we didn’t book so that means that when you arrive which we did when it opens your only option is to sit on a long table. You are literally crammed in and can hear your neighbours and smell their food.
We ordered buttermilk pancakes with bacon and we asked for extra fried eggs to accompany the pancakes. The pancakes and bacon arrived first, the pancakes tasted cheap like those store bought ones you get they were lukewarm. The bacon was flabby and not crispy, despite asking twice where our eggs were they didn’t arrive until after we had finished the pancakes. We ordered them to accompany the pancakes so it defeated the point somewhat. We paid the bill almost £60 and left but we won’t be returning as the service wasn’t great and the food even less so. There are much nicer places for brunch locally save your money and go elsewhere.
Extremely disappointed.
Had a booking for 13:00 hrs but arrived early and decided to be seated in order to have a cocktail before lunch. The staff were very friendly and we placed our cocktail order. It took over 20 minutes for the cocktails to arrive! I asked for the Canadian sirloin steak and it was only after I asked where in Canada did it come from (which Province) that I was told that it was actually halal. This important fact is not stated in the menu - it does make a big difference on the taste of the steak, especially if you like your steak rare, like I do. Both of us opted for the lobster Mac & cheese (nothing special, just OK). and we shared blackened shrimp to start with. I asked for the wine list that never appeared. I had to get up and remind our water about it. Then nobody bothered to come and take our wine order - we had to tell the person who brought our appetiser about it who then told someone else.
It appears that this place is popular for brunch but for lunch is not worth it especially for the prices they charge. Extremely disappointed.
overpriced
Not very big portions, empty lobster tail with one mouthful of food. Very expensive considering portion size and quality of steak.
I would rate food average, though desert was delicious and generous. Restaurant and atmosphere were lovely as were waiting staff.
£250 for three people, one of which was a child. A couple of drinks and one starter to share before our mains, you get the picture here. Mains were steak, lamb and a burger with fries.
Disappointing - don't trust the website
Booked a table for 4 at 5.45pm for dinner before show. Were seated in the very much second class dining area - not the dining room shown on the website. Absolutely no ambiance and it appears that the waiting staff forget that there is an area other than the part you see in the publicity photos. If you sit in second class you can see the other bit through a whole in the wall! That looked very much better. Arrived promptly for our table and explained that we needed to be away very shortly after 7 and asked whether we would have time for main course and dessert, Told that there was no problem and we would easily have time. Well, we might have done if the waiting staff had remembered that people in second class needed serving. Drinks were slow and we had to chase the final one down. The food, once we managed to order, came quickly but they were slow to clear the main course away and it took another 10 minutes to get the dessert menus. The staff will not notice you until they are ready to see you! Another 10 minutes before anyone came back to take our order by which time it was 6.50pm and we couldn't risk a delay. Also worth pointing out that the ladies toilets had run out of toilet paper and the wallpaper was peeling from the walls . You really shouldn't have to find waiting staff to request toilet paper in an establishment that advertises itself as high-end. The food was good but it was £170 for four main courses and a few drinks (two non-drinkers in the party) with hit and miss service, atmosphere free seating area and toilets more suited to a busy but slightly down at heel pub.
Be the first to ReplyAveragely nice
Visited on a Tuesday morning the day after Valentines Day. Arrived and got sent up to the second floor where a waiter would be waiting to seat us. There unfortunately was nobody there and the phone was ringing (assuming this was the staff member downstairs to let them know somebody was on their way up). Shortly after somebody did come and seat us, we were offered water but then nobody came to take our drinks order until 20 minutes after we arrived. This would have been fine but there was only 17 people in the restaurant at the time. I’d say less than half full. I asked if our whole order could be taken as we didn’t wish you wait for somebody to come over again. Food was nice. Had both versions of the French toast. However nobody came over to ask how our food was etc. It seemed there was A LOT of waiters walking around looking frantic when the restaurant wasn’t actually busy and they didn’t actually seem to be serving anyone. For the price (we actually have the cheapest option) i don’t think the service or food was groundbreaking. Hefty London prices but not much atmosphere. I can’t even recall if there was even any music playing.
