We had a table for 14 for a customers appreciation dinner. Fixed menu: after 2 and half hours we were still waiting for our main course and our customers started to leave. One told us a few days ago they had to cancel their main course for the same reason. Manager didn't even came to apologize, we had to ask to see him. You get better service at in&out burger
Castaway is one of my favorite places to go to.
I really enjoy the food there and the drinks. This place is very unique and not to mention the spectacular view! The service there is great and the waiter was very attentive with our order and drinks. I've also had Easter Sunday brunch here a really long time ago. I also experienced a party there in one of the banquet rooms and it was a great experience. The bar is always a great option for appetizers and drinks. You can't go wrong with having dinner or lunch or brunch. It's a must try!! Hope you like an enjoy.
We were here last weekend for the Fatyers Day brunch.
I gave that review 5 stars. Tonight was a total disappointment. We arrived at 7pm for dinner, waited about 15 minutes to be seated. Our server was really fun, upbeat and personable... The food was terrible. My rare steak was well done and brown inside. The spinach was watery and the sauce on the squid ink pasta was so bad my dad couldn't eat it. The fried calamari was the only thing we could finish... don't think we will be coming back here again.

This was honestly one of the absolute worst dining experiences I've had. Visited on June 20th 2024 for my girlfriend and I's 2 year anniversary. As being a young looking couple, our service gave us terrible attention. Didn't receive an introduction to himself, brought us tap water before asking what we wanted to drink. Ordered apps and he brushed off my request for more information on the wagyu pink brick. Had to wait 30-40 minutes for a simple Brussels sprouts app (which were actually delightful yet not worth the wait). Then we still not receiving our entrees I asked for a manager where she brought us water , offered a free dessert (which I asked if had nuts , she didn't know and claimed to go ask the kitchen to check for us. She NEVER came back seen her by the bathroom and put head down and didn't say anything). We waited an additional 45 minutes for our food to which never came and we ended up abruptly leaving. Where they first tried to charge us $200 for our full meals and after telling them they didn't make us pay, yet we still were forced to pay valet. I know they have great reviews but I wouldn't ever go back here again and would never recommend this place to anyone. As someone who works in the same industry to see them handle this situation so poorly was greatly upsetting. Even a table nearby had same terrible experience and they we're celebrating a 85th birthday. Them making a 85 year old couple wait for 20+ minutes for water is all that needs to be said to sum up their restaurant.

The place is overrated we have been there for my daughter's 16 birthday dinner let me start by saying that it was super crowded and they took for ever to bring the food . We ordered 4 dishes and non of them were yummy all were flavourless and one of them was cold so when i asked to replace it they took so long to the point i had to cancel the dish another one was burned instead of being cooked medium well and the third was third was bloody instead of medium rare. It is so expensive and mo worth for your money

I was really looking forward to this experience as I have heard great things about Castaway. The view is amazing and the vibe is cool. I was both elated and disappointed in my food and service. Our waiter was lovely, but he misunderstood a few things during the ordering and it took nearly an hour for us to get one appetizer and the other twenty minutes later. However, they were delicious and huge portions. Big enough for all four of us. My ribeye steak entree was dry and overcooked. I asked for medium, but it was actually well done. The squid ink pasta was tasty, the salmon well cooked and a hefty portion of mashed potatoes on the side was very nice. My guests loved the cauliflower with hazelnut. It's expensive, so not for every day, but as a treat.

My family and I went for Mother's Day and are very disappointed. The server was never around, we did not enjoy our stay.

We went to Castaway's today for lunch - at 12:20 pm there were only 2 other cars in the parking lot. The host at the front (M20's) was rather snooty - and the restaurant only had 2 tables occupied. We got a good window table with a great view. Our waitress was very friendly and attentive. The host seated another party right next to our booth even though there were at least 10 booths lining the window area unoccupied...sigh. The restaurant is lovely, the views are spectacular even on a cloudy day...the upgraded decor is fantastic - great ambiance - great for a date or special occasion. The lunch menu was small - which is fine. I ordered the Wedge Salad (very good!) and the Smash Burger. I asked for my burger to be cooked "Medium Plus" and it arrived very well done - charred on the outside and virtually no pink on the inside. So it was kind of dry and tough. The fries were awful - oddly tough and not tasty (not icky bad tasting...but not good either.). I suspect they were old fries that got re-fried. They were hard and/or tough...so weird. So food - 2 Service - 4/5 Ambience - 5 So go for the ambiance and the view - maybe just do drinks...

High end restaurant with great views. Came here for dinner with my parents on a Saturday evening and made a reservation online in advance. Valet only for $9 (no self-parking available). Indoor and outdoor seating available. Large events can be hosted easily - there were three weddings going on simultaneously. Food wise, we got the four item charcuterie - the truffle cheese and the salami picante were the best. The Spanish creme brûlée cheese was also fired up at the tables which was fun. We got an order of calamari to split as well. The three of us split a Steak Progressive which comes with Himalayan salt, pepper, and a red sauce on the side. The cuts are wagyu, hangar, filet mignon, and rib eye - the best one in my opinion was the wagyu. We got the truffle lobster mashed potatoes and the honey roasted veggies on the side. For dessert, we had the chocolate cake with coffee feeling and it came with two generous scoops of ice cream. The food was all delicious and decadent. In terms of why it’s not a 5, I think there is some confusion with the staffing. For example, we were seated in an outdoor area but it took 10 minutes before someone proactively came to greet us (I noticed another table that had been seated after us get greeted within 5 minutes). They do have tap water available but our server made sure to note that it was unfiltered and talked us into getting the San Bendetto water. Overall, it’s a restaurant that is kid friendly and geared for special occasions. Come here if you want to get a nice view.

This place was so beautiful! The view felt like I wasn't in LA. The staff were so kind as well. They asked us if we would like to be seated inside or outside when we got there but we didn't realize they didn't have a ramp for the patio. (Please consider this when coming here) They were kind enough to help me since I had my baby in a stroller. They lifted the stroller when getting into the patio and out. I also enjoyed the food but honestly maybe not as much as the view! The hamburger was pretty basic but it was good. My sister got a grilled chicken sandwich and honestly thought that was so much better! Would get the chicken sandwich again and come back! Overall good place to visit and would recommend! Also, I came before the lunch special and did not have to pay for valet parking. So that was a plus

The jalapeño cornbread with maple butter, incredible. The views and vibe of the restaurant is BEAUTIFUL. sit outside! the service was awesome, i am still so impressed with the food. And the drinks!!! FIRE. And beautifully set. Will absolutely be back again! Look no more if you should come- 5 star everything!!!
Visited this location on May 10, 2024 reservations for 8 PM.
Service was extremely slow numerous food items were delayed. I was celebrating my mother 64th birthday on the day. Food was OK ordered numerous appetizers no flavor. Towards the end of the night, I ordered a cake, and waited approximately 25 minutes. Unfortunately, I never received this item, but was still billed for it. I spoke to manager Will Cunningham, who stated they would refund me and apologize for the level service I received for the day. As of today, I still have not heard from manager Will Cunningham nor have I received a full refund (Cake). Now, as a loyal castaway customer, I definitely feel that the level service from the manager does not reflect the branding that castaway stands for nor the level of service I received on the day. I will never visit this establishment again.
Love this place! So pretty and spacious with a great view.
The food was good - we really enjoyed the lobster mashed potatoes, the kids' chicken tenders, the warm seafood tower, and the crab cakes. The truffle popcorn chicken was ok, as were the fancy fries. But service was amazing! We had a great time and would definitely go back.

Castaway is my GO TO SPOT when friends or family visit from out of State and want a place outdoors with a VIEW. Make sure to get outdoor seating and I recommend catching the sunset ! They have heaters outside so I'm never cold out there. I would come here even if they only had drinks, because their drinks are unbelievably gorgeous, and fun ! But, they have yummy food too! I like their drinks more than the food to be honest, but the CAVIAR FRITES is one of my FAVE FRENCH FRY ORDERS OF LIFE ! it's so Colorful, vibrant in presentation and tasty!! BELLE cocktail is a must if you are fan of BEAUTY AND the BEAST like me. Even their none alcoholic drinks are yummy !!! If you are there with the girlies, you will love their outdoor and front door backdrops for photos. Service is always lovely here too! I was so impressed with the lobby and seating area at reservation check-in. It was elegant, and the staff were very welcoming and friendly. We were five guests celebrating my brother's birthday at his favorite restaurant. The view was amazing, the food was delicious, and the cocktails refreshing. I would return to celebrate any special occasion.
The old cast away had everything that was wonderful.
That was pre-2020 after 2020 things were narrowed down. Menus were changed and certainly pricing has gone up.

I went to celebrate my mother's 57th birthday at Castaway Burbank and after the first hour there we already started regretting it. We had reserved a table for our party hoping we'd get some sort of view and instead we were seated all the way indoors and in the back corner. Online it did not give us the option to reserve outside so we let this be. What really disappointed me about this place was the service! We did not get our drinks on the table til 1 hr from seating! We then received all our entrees at around hr and half into seating and everyone's was served besides my moms. The waiter comes 10 min later to tell us that he is sorry for the wait and that his manager would come out to serve my mom's plate. The manager comes out but asks a different waiter where this plate was going and then hands off the plate to said waiter. So we never got the managers name, the managers apologies or any other type of explanation. All that I know is that it's the manager was a lady with red hair. The worst part was when our original waiter was taking pictures of the table next to us and literally hovered over my mom. I didnt think to record him but after taking multiple pictures of the table from different angles I snapped this photo. There was legitimately one point where his elbow was right in front of her face. I only captured this photo but even then you can see how upset and bothered she was. All of us were amazed at how inconsiderate someone can be. One star is for the decor/views. One star is for the taste of the food. In the end, we all wish we would've taken our business elsewhere.

SO my daughter's fiancé took her to Castaways for her 37th bday on April 16th. When she text me the pic that they were there I immediately called the restaurant to ask if I could pay for her bday dessert! I spoke to Kristen in the events dept and she was a GEM!! She went above & beyond my request and also hooked them up with an amazing appetizer too!! The cake was stunning!! My daughter said it was amazing!! She said all the food & beverages were delicious!! The ambiance is beautiful! They had a great view from the rooftop! Thanks again Kristen & the Castaways staff & management for making my daughter's bday a very memorable one!! When we visit her from AZ she said we'll definitely go back so we can experience it too!!
Came to brunch to celebrate a friend's birthday.
I appreciate the valet as I never want to deal finding a parking spot myself when meeting up with a group. But I think valet is mandatory so that point is moot. Everything started smoothly and we even got a spot outdoors with a great view. But issues started as time passed. Our server was attentive and patient but there were issues with the bar and kitchen that were out of her control. Two in our group had bottomless mimosas, but they couldn't get timely refills because the restaurant ran out of clean glasses and had to wait for dirty ones to be washed?? It certainly wasn't anything like the bar cutting us off as none of us were drunk - we couldn't even get refills after our first drink. It took 50 minutes from placing our order to receiving our first entree. To Castaway's credit, I thought my Fried Chicken and Waffle was delicious. The chicken was juicy and the honey roasted sriracha glaze was unique and I really enjoyed it overall. However, I wish I could say that others in my group enjoyed their dishes as much as I did. I guess waiting 50 minutes really escalated their expectations and what they got didn't meet those expectations. Great View, But That's Where it Ends.
When we arrived for a Birthday Celebration at 6:30 on a Tuesday Night, the first thing we were told is that we were only allowed to stay for an hour and 45 minutes. We were on time for our reservation. We had requested a view table but were told those were only for parties of 4. Drink orders were taken quickly, and were good. Appetizer salads were ordered, along with entrees. Appetizers arrived quickly and were quite good, that was the end of the positives. It took 50 minutes for dinner to arrive and the restaurant was only half full. The steaks were oversalted to the point of being inedible. We ordered dessert waited for 20 minutes for that to arrive and the espresso we ordered never arrived. The final check with tax and tip was over $600 (well over $100 person). This was not a $100 meal and we will not return. The food was overprice, and the service was poor. Spend your money elsewhere, the great view may be worth a drink, but not the din er prices charged for an unmemorable night.

The worst. The absolute worst dining experience, let alone Easter brunch that I and my friends & family had the displeasure of having. We, and everyone else with a reservation had to wait over an hour to get our tables, which turned out to be the beginning of the bad. Instead of being sat out on the admittedly lovely terrace, we were instead sat in a soulless, dirty banquet room off the main dining area. The server was very nice, but the actual service was so so poor. We were left alone for too long, the food showed up before drinks, and for some reason we had to ask twice to get plates. Then there was the food. Included in the $98 pre-fix were oysters, crab legs, and shrimp. The oysters clearly had been sitting out for a while, and had begun to turn, which was a first for me. Typically restaurants prefer not to poison their patrons, but I guess Castaway likes to roll the dice. The crab legs were edible, but it was a fun time trying to smash them open with our knife handles without the necessary crackers. The salad was oddly salty and flavorless at the same time. I also prefer my salad greens to be less brown. The mains were fine. Boring but fine. I was pleasantly surprised to see that my poached eggs weren’t boiled, and my steak wasn’t shoe leather. The word Meh fits pretty nicely for everyone’s dish. Oh, I forgot that they left crab legs and misc detritus on the table(not on plates mind you) while we waited for the next round of “food”. Nothing like staring at dismembered crab on linen in between courses. Then finally came the dessert, and oh boy was it terrible. Piles and piles of terrible. Let’s put it this way, if two 9 year olds stop eating dessert after the first couple bites, the cakes, cookies, and macaroon must suck hard. Yeah, nah. Castaway. That’s what the food was. That’s what we were.

We are rating the Castaway a 3 because we were patrons from long ago and have not been back since our family moved I get to Las Vegas in 2019. The service and atmosphere was wonderful as it always was, but unfortunately, the Sunday afternoon menu has completely changed. I remember coming here on Sundays for a wonderful brunch buffet, and it was worth the price of admission. The new menu is very limited, and the portions appear slim. We feel that the entrees are way overpriced for Me the portions you get. Overall, our experience on December 31 was not bad, but we were put out on the patio where it was cold and windy and only one heater worked. Our party of 11 also waited 30 minutes to be seated, and our main course took close to 2 hours to arrive at our table. We bit our tongues on saying anything because it was our friends birthday, but we couldn’t help but make a note here however late, about how it’s changed over the years. We’re very grateful and thankful for the memories we had before, but are not sure if we will have reason to return again.

WE arrived at sunset. It was amazing! Initial impression was perfect. Unfortunately it was New Year’s Day and understandable there was a challenge for the servers. Our drinks and appetizers came out quick and delicious . We had 2 vegetarians and one vegan with 2 carnivores. We waited at least an hour for the main course. The table next came after and left before we were served. When it arrived the taste of everything was impressive. The vegan option was unique and very good. Sadly the steaks were cold and the 5 th dish under the lights too long. That is why only 4 stars. I don’t want to disrespect the quality of the venue and menu. When management found out the issues they MADE IT GOOD. It was a special celebration for us above just celebrating the new year. We had a 2 month old with us that thankfully slept the entire time. This could have been a nightmare. The desert was comped and honestly I have never experiences anything quite like the various confections we enjoyed! Things happen And some places just say they are sorry or nothing at all. My verbal impression is that this business wants you to leave happy. We will go back happily.
Horrible service from Hostess to management
Worst Hostess I have ever encountered at a restaurant that is supposed to be upscale. Manager gave away our reservation on Christmas day and did not care to accommodate their mistake. Or, in my opinion, blatantly gave our table away to someone else. We showed up 15 minutes early and when it came time to be seated after waiting until our reservation time, we were escorted to a table I did not reserve. Instead of apologizing and asking if we wanted to wait a little longer for the next inside table, we were given a condescending, you can take the table we put you at outside on a cool night, or sit at the bar and have dinner. This came from management. We immediately left. While we retrieved our car from the valet, we met another couple that was retrieving their car that just had the same thing happen to them. Only they outright canceled their reservation. Do Not go to Cast Away. That is not the way to treat first time patrons!

This place has a very nice view on Burbank but I was not completely satisfied with the food we had. The steak was highly priced and not cooked well, and we even had to order the sides apart. I guess they charge you for the view, but I will not go back again.

We waited 25 minutes to be seated, not where we requested. As we were walked to the table there was a woman with bright red hair screaming "who is on table 5?"
I was surprised that a 5 star establishment will have someone so loud and disrespectful to the dining people around. When we found out that our request can't be completed and asked why, we were told that a party of 3 cannot be seated at the front tables, only parties of 2 can dine in there. Well why did you promise a front row table when you knew we are a party of 3? We asked to speak with the manager. Well surprisingly the manager was the same loud red head who was screaming across the restaurant when we entered. She came like a storm cloud, no smile, no personality, didn't greet us or ask us how we were. She came in total ATTACK MODE, rude and disrespectful to yell: YOU CANNOT SIT THERE. There was zero compassion in her voice or what so ever! Zero attempt to accommodate us or apologize. We left very disappointed and will never go back! Not to mention that the assistant general manager was a joke too! The whole establishment is ran by morons with zero customer service or accountability what they promised to do when we walked in and requested a front row table! The cherry on top was when we left the place and I tried to reserve another restaurant my Open Table had items added to my tab/check that I never opened! See picture Yeah you need to add a payment method to reserve a table. Don't waste your time and money there! There are so many other restaurants that will treat you like royalty and without the attitude those young people had! A red head clown who screams across the dining room, disturbs the ambiance and attacks the customers without a reason!

Wonderful! My parents are visiting and we have wanted to go to Nobu Malibu for years. I tried getting a reservation myself but it was next to impossible. So glad I was able to buy a reservation on appointment trader for a decent price!

Fabulous Lunch
I was veeeeeerry skeptical that this would work, particularly at a restaurant as hard to get into as Nobu Malibu, and it was perfect! We had lunch outside on the patio and it was fabulous!

Last minute reservation for Delilah Las Vegas
Got a last minute reservation, dinner for 2 at Delilah Las Vegas: super impressed! The process was simple, transaction seamless. We had an amazing time! Couldn’t be happier! 😍
It works!
Ok at this point I've attended a reservation purchased on AT by a friend and sold a reservation personally. Both worked pretty smoothly, nothing sketchy about it. A few areas for improvement including a way to more directly communicate between buyers and sellers, but the app always seems to be in development. AT customer support is really(!) responsive and helpful too if you have questions!
Money transfer
As a seller, I like the fact i have the ability now to transfer money out of my AT account and into a bank account. Makes getting the money much easier then the process before.

Whose name will my reservation be under when I arrive at the venue?
It can be under your name or a name you choose! Some reservation offers already include the AppointmentTrader Transfer Service which will transfer the reservation in to your name. If its not included you can add it on after buying the reservation for a small fee. One thing on that though: As many reservations become available at last minute, taking a reservation in someone else name is quick and great for privacy. Most reservations on AT are listed with a virtual phone number, so all you need to do is present the phone number at the hostess stand and you are good to go!
Payouts Blocked Because of Sell Through Rate
Does anyone know how AT plans to handle cases where a seller is quitting the platform but has a sell through rate <25%? The error message I got said to fill more bids or find other ways to increase the rate.
Is AT really going to block sellers from withdrawing their money? Especially revenue made before the sell through rate was introduced??

Your bid has been “matched” with a reservation. From the time a reservation has been located, the seller of the reservation must connect with moderator to give transfer information for reservation. If the seller;however, does NOT respond to reservation transfer, then your bid is reprocessed and returns to the first step, which is connecting your request to a reservation.
Process after bid is accepted.
Hey @EvocativeFold67, welcome to appointmenttrader! Once the reservation is in your portfolio, you definitely own the timeslot, the review team would not have approved the trade if the reservation wasn't confirmed - so you are going :-) Judging from your post you bid today and are going tomorrow - don't worry as long as you initiated the name transfer, you are good - the transfer service has to work with the opening hours of the reservation team of the respective venue. You will likely see the transfer confirmation a couple hours before your reservation time.
Where do the Reservations on AppointmentTrader come from?
Mostly from people who don't need their reservations or appointments any longer. AT has no relationship with places listed and acts as a platform connecting buyers and sellers making sure that listed reservations are real and that privacy is not compromised when transacting.
What happens if my bid expires unanswered?
Hey @FluffyStar64, thanks for the question! When you place your bid the amount gets transferred in a deposit account, the second you either cancel your bid or a few minutes after the bid expires the funds are moved back into your main account from where you can refund it to your payment method or use for other transactions.
