Location and food
Great hotel and great restaurant. Small and cozy, the food and the location is the highlight of this hotel. The rooms are basic but good enough, the staff is very friendly and the restaurant is really good, including the service. We will go back, thank you
Be the first to ReplyIncredible view of Llafranc beach
We stayed 1 night in this hotel. It overlooks the bay of Llafranc. . The view from the room is magnificent. To access the beach, around thirty stairs separate you. Very nice home. Comfortable hotel. Bright room with a small balcony. Comfortable bedding. Loan of beach towels. Hygiene at the top. The breakfast is amazing. Delicious ham sandwich. Croissants, Cakes, yogurts. Fresh orange juice. This is very practical when you eat at a restaurant. In the evening, it is possible to have a drink on the small terrace. Excellent value. We will gladly come back
Be the first to ReplyI leave with a bitter taste
Cleaning is a disaster. I have found hair in the shower, on the bed in the hand soap dispenser. As someone who works in the sector, these things are unacceptable. The mattress is super thin and one does not rest well. I have slept better in hostels that cost €15 a night. So price quality does not match. Breakfast, I would add the eggs to the menu and not charge extra since one pays €20 for a breakfast, and I think that it includes coffee, a sandwich and orange juice is not correct. You pay for the views but it has to accompany it with the gastronomy too.
Be the first to ReplyBrilliant Tasting Menu
Incredible tasting menu which we just loved. the food and service was superb and the chef made himself known to each table which was a lovely touch. Not cheap but not over expensive but definitely worth the money for the gastronomic experience.
Be the first to ReplyRomantic inn
Stumbled upon this inn from another review. Wonderful and romantic. Comfortable small room but with all amenities needed. Incredible hikes / walking trains all around. Very kind family runs this little slice of heaven with Michelin star restaurant. Amazing views. Perfect for a night or two to discover the little towns in this area.
Be the first to ReplyThe Casamar Experience
We have been visiting Llafranc for years and decided for the summer of 2022 to try a new property: Casamar Hotel. We were very pleased with our decision. Casamar is a small hotel overlooking the Mediterranean started by a couple decades ago. At present, their daughter Maria is the manager and Quinn their son is head chef of the Michelin star restaurant. Both parents are still actively involved with the hotel, greeting guests for the delicious breakfast and inquiring if anything is need during the stay. (Upon arrival you receive a beach bag with nice towels - the beach is a short walk from the hotel!) Our room had spectacular views of the Llafranc waterfront and was spotless clean with a terrace and modern bathroom. The dining room is stunning with phenomenal views. Breakfast were both plentiful and delicious. The restaurant serves gourmet cuisine from locally sourced produce, fish and meat. I would be amiss not to mention Ester, who manages the front desk and reservations for the hotel and restaurant. It seems almost no request is too difficult for her to manage. We plan to return this summer and in future years!
Be the first to ReplyWe had a lovely time.
We stayed here for a week, the rooms are plain but clean and tidy. A fridge which, air-conditioning and a good bed, but no coffee and tea facilities. We had a very basic room but would book a sea view next time. The staff are lovely and we enjoyed our stay. Also we should have booked the restaurant in advance, a must for next time .
Be the first to ReplyOnly but wonderful!
The ambience, the service, the surroundings, and most of all the food, sublime. From start to finish excellent, it was several years since we had visited here, they have only improved and become yet again a shining light in the food of the area. The modern touches in decor have enhanced an already beautiful setting, and service is spot on. Helpful, informative but never in your face or pompous. All the little extras between courses surprise and tickle your taste buds.
Be the first to ReplyGreat location but noise insulation is a problem
Wonderful warm welcome at check-in and very helpful about taking our luggage from us as we were early checking in. Fabulous location and worth paying extra for a sea view. This is a two star and rooms are simple and quite basic as advertised. You are paying for the location. Lovely to sit on the balcony and watch the passing parade and the view of the bay. Bed comfortable. Breakfast was only OK. A basket is brought to your table with a tasty but very tiny fruit salad and some small mean looking pastries. There are also meat or cheese rolls offered but these are not to my taste at breakfast time. The big problem was noise. The walls seem to be paper thin. We had noisy and talkative people next door unfortunately who stayed awake late into the night. In addition, every now and again the water pipes made a lot of noise. I was exhausted the next day from lack of sleep. So sadly despite wanting to love it, I would not stay again.
Be the first to ReplySimple, Comfortable Room
2-star hotel. Simple and sufficient.
The morning receptionist welcomed us with a very warm smile. She gave us an option to choose our room. Breakfast is included (no other bars or restaurants opened!). It was generous and delicious: fruit bowl, a sandwich, pastries, tea and coffee. I’m vegetarian and on the third day I requested a slight change in the breakfast, a grilled cheese sandwich and an omelet with no extra charge. They were very accommodating. No problems parking near the hotel. The staff always had a smile, looked happy and greeted us.
Pros: Despite being a small, basic room, it was very comfortable to relax, read and look at the sea. Room 102 with a beautiful view of Llafranç. Roomy, long balcony with table, chairs and lounge chair. Very comfortable bed. Clean sheets. Bathtub. Rain shower. Wardrobe. Hooks. Chairs. Mini fridge. Table.
Cons. Humming sound at night. Room is above the restaurant. Bad finishing touches. Simple repairs needed in room: skirting board, leaky shower door, scratches on floor, light on headboard, light switches, balcony door. But that did not spoil our stay.
