We tried this place recently and had a good time.
The place is darkly lit, which sets a cool vibe. Our server was friendly and walked us through the menu and explained how it would be coursed out with our small table. We tried the sweet and sour meatballs, spicy rigatoni vodka and the chicken parmesan. Everything tasted great. The chicken parmesan was pricey ($49), but we made 2 meals out of it. It was delicious. I would highly recommend the chicken parmesan and spicy rigatoni vodka. Great flavor and not overwhelmingly spicy. We got the hazelnut cake to go and enjoyed that as well. The only down side was waiting to get the check. Our server was friendly, but also chatty, especially to the table behind us. I learned how they met, how long they were dating, married, if they wanted kids and their names. All while waiting for our check. We will be back to the main side.

Came here on a Saturday with my husband and our daughters and had a pretty mediocre experience. For appetizers we got the Mozzarella Sticks and the Prosciutto & Melon. Nothing to really complain about but they definitely should have cut the melon into smaller pieces. For dinner we ordered two Filets, a Margherita Pizza and the Spicy Rigatoni Pasta. The Filets were actually good so that was positive. The pizza was absolutely nothing like Italian pizza. The crust was wayyyy too thick with barely any cheese and served as a square. The Rigatoni was WAYY too salty! I'm guessing it must have guanciale which I know is inherently salty but goodness you need to offset it with something. It tastes like a dish of nothing but salt. The beignet desserts were good. For the price point there's no way we're coming back.
Be the first to ReplyFood was good but not special.
We asked to order an appetizer but server then said it was better if we order everything at once. Definitely felt rushed. He did not even offer us a dessert at the end of our meal. Overall overpriced for the lack of value and experience. I frequently dine at expensive restaurants but expect the experience to match. This one fell short for sure. Would not recommend and I will not return.
Be the first to ReplyThe food and service were great.
I was surprised that the Sambuca is served without 3 coffee beans, which is the Italian way:)

Amazing food and service , it was my birthday celebration and was fantastic and delicious .
Be the first to ReplyIt was like walking into an old Italian oasis.
Sinatra genre music playing with very dim lighting. Our waitress was extremely knowledgeable about the food and made great recommendations. She started us off with house made bread and aged parm with a sweet balsamic glaze (that I couldn't stop picking at). Ultimately we went with the famous Spicy Rigatoni Vodka & Rock Shrimp Orecchiette. Spicy Rigatoni Vodka was flavorful and had a creamy tomato flavor with a subtle kick to it. Rock Shrimp Orecchiette was equally as good but wasn't a huge fan of the orecchiette pasta which felt a bit too al dente for my taste. The flavor was more white wine based with a bit of lemon, veggies included. Accompanied this with a Calabrian chili margarita that was also refreshing and well made.

Such a great experience! From the moment we walked in to the moment we left, we were treated with great customer service! All of the food we had was amazing, and I walked away feeling like I should've worn my stretchy pants. Marie & Caesar were both amazing at their jobs!

Everything we ordered was unreal - the spicy rigatoni, butternut squash, mafaldini bolognese, and zepolis. Amazing service (our "captain" was Bailee), amazing ambiance, would recommend this place for anyone looking for an extra special evening.
Be the first to ReplyThe restaurant is beautiful and full of character.
Loved the ambiance! The music is great (Frank Sinatra-ish). This was our first time and we came for our anniversary. We booked this reservation weeks in advance, and had requested a window but did not get a window. It def wasn't crowded so I'm not sure what happened there. The menu is designed to be shareable dishes but I don't think I would've had trouble polishing off my pasta dish! I went with the bolognese and hubby had the spicy vodka pasta. Both were phenomenal. It was obvious that our waitress was irritated that we didn't order an appetizer, so that was a little off putting. No one really acknowledged our anniversary either. Other than those minor things, the food was still great.
Be the first to ReplyA very elegant restaurant with a lot of attention to all
A very elegant restaurant with a lot of attention to all the details, such as decor, music and everything else in between. A lot of classic lovely music in the background (think frank Sinatra and similar) The food was excellent, and can tell a lot of the ingredients weee home made and fresh. The service was very good and our server, her name was Bailee, was excellent at what she does with strong menu knowledge and a smile.

I feel like it's not a good sign walking away from a restaurant thinking "I could have had better service elsewhere". Service was extremely slow. At the end, our 4 different left over pastas were bagged up....in the same little container. Like why did they mix up all pasta? Where are the dividers? I'm not ten years old, so it's ok that my food touches, but each pasta is $30+. Food was good. Actually scratch, the spicy rigatoni and bolognese were good. The farfalle was a little too fishy and the calamari was under seasoned. I could get the same Italian food for cheaper. Atmosphere was great, I'll give them that! Wouldn't return.
Be the first to ReplyThe best part of the meal was the bread.
....unremarkable pasta....Caesar salad ...unchilled lettuce (room temperature) mayonnaise tasting dressing....shrimp scampi.....appropriately namedOne tiny little shrimp looking quiteLonely as there was only one shrimp ) not a prawn but a small shrimp- looked bigger as the left the head on)Served with a bundle of parsley....not pasta but parsley..... really wanted to Like the restaurant as staff were pleasant and ambiance lovely....
Be the first to Replythis restaurant's a pretty desent restaurant.
The best thing about this restaurant is the fact that the atmosphere is lively. There are lots of people there however, that being said, the line to get in is quite long and even making reservations at times can be quite a task. I'm not a fan of restaurants from other cities and move into Dallas and drive smaller businesses out of town. Unfortunately, one of my other favorite restaurants also name carbones had to rename themselves because Thor restaurant apparently took their name. this is quite a shame. I do like the food here, however especially the pizza. The pasta appears to be homemade, which as a former New Yorker I think all pasta should be homemade. The desserts are really good. I thought the servers are pretty decent as well and the bartender mixed up some fairly decent drinks. Parking is a little bit difficult. You probably should Valley Park if you come here, but I would certainly recommend this place if you're looking for some decent Italian food in Dallas, it's not up there with Chicago, Boston, New York, Italian food, but certainly is worth a try

Very nice atmosphere, excellent service , tasteless food , quality very poor, very greasy , Cessar dressing from a jar , do not recommend it find another Italian restaurant it's definitely not worth it .
Be the first to ReplyWe went with a group of 5 for a special birthday dinner.
The restaurant was packed. We had a reservation for 8 but didn't get our table until 8:45. However we were seated in the bar area to wait. The bar is just lovely. It has a very Italian Riviera feel. Loved it! The service is absolutely incredible. We felt very well taken care of. Drinks are ridiculously over priced and very small pours. Food is served family style but still very small portions for the price point. The food is absolutely wonderful. We ordered a lot and everything was fantastic. I would definitely go more often but the prices are just way more than they should be. I know your paying for the experience but its still a lot more than you would expect to pay for such skimpy portions . The crudo literally had 9 tiny bites and it was 35.00 crazy!
Be the first to ReplyFood was spectacular but the service sucks.
You have to put a $150 deposit to make a reservation, have to order everything at once and then it takes forever to check out. Luckily their food makes it worth it.
Be the first to ReplyI have had a fantastic experience at Carbone Vino, thanks
I have had a fantastic experience at Carbone Vino, thanks to the manager Mark Jodinskas. When they first opened, a visit there was a bit rough, which is why they only have 3 1/2 stars. We returned a month later and the visit was absolutely impeccable. The service was flawless, the food and cocktails were spectacular. I recommend the Spicy Vodka Rigatoni. Not that this was a deciding factor for me, but Kim Kardashian has said that that dish was her favorite pasta dish ever. I highly recommend the pampering experience!

So I went for New Years dinner with my best friend and all I can say is wow. We knew we wanted spicy rigatoni because I ate that religiously when I lived in New York, and we let the server choose the rest. Everything came out in a very timely manner and our drinks were always full. The atmosphere was beyond amazing, and I can not wait to go back again soon!
