We went right at dinner time so of course there was a wait
We went right at dinner time so of course there was a wait no biggie. But the restaurant was hot and extremely dark. They sat our 7 person party in a nice large corner table that was perfect for us. I got the fried pork chops and they were great for dinner and for a sandwich the next day. The daughter had chicken fingers and they were not just store bought but nice homemade ones. Water seemed to forget about us a lot and had to wait multiple times for drinks to be filled or to get checked on. Recommend they turn down the ac and turn up the lighting.

Love the California Dreaming Salad with Broiled chicken! Delish every time!Highly recommended!
Be the first to ReplyA complete failure by the restaurant at every level.
Failure of leadership to allow servers to be on the floor that have zero menu knowledge and cannot speak to nor sell the product. Failure of leadership to not equip their staff with the menu knowledge to be successful. Failure of the service staff to show any care or empathy for their jobs. Drinks were pre-made and not well balanced. Food was not cooked well, under-seasoned, and cold. Truly an embarrassing and disappointing experience.

Well, we are from California so we probably shouldn't judge to be honest. Nachos were ballpark style at best, a few upgraded ingredients are all bomb nachos need. Pro tip* don't order Croissants if you are getting a salad. Every salad comes with one including the side salads you get with dinner! Spicy chicken Sammie was good , ribs were fall off the bone. Don't go steak. They either didn't run the food on time or they flat out overcooked two steaks. Ordered medium rare, like a normal person does, and got well. Always a bummer! We aren't the type to send back food and wait. Order safe and you will be happy!

We came for a shopping day specifically to the Myrtle Beach area to have a California Dreaming salad .... Since our California Dreaming in Charleston is not open for lunch during the week! We made reservations, but since we came for a late lunch so we were seated right away. We ordered an order of croissants and both got California Dreaming salads. The plate of croissants came out, they weren't warm and didn't have enough honey butter on them, so we had to ask for more. Our salads came with another croissant... Which was better than the plate of croissants. The croissants that came with our salad was warm and covered in honey butter, just like they should be! We have both been craving California dreaming salads, so our cravings were fulfilled, because the salads was good. Service was good, so we had an enjoyable lunch.

Be the first to ReplyExcellent service and delicious food made to order.
Croissant with honey butter was great and their seafood nachos. Staff was friendly and attentive. They also have the best sweet tea!

Be the first to ReplyReally enjoyed my first visit here.
Food is very good. Homemade salad dressings, especially the house and the ranch are awesome.

I had the blackened chicken penne the last time I was in the area and I definitely plan to come back for more!!! The service was excellent last time we went and the food was just great!

I definitely recommend doing this, as the restaurant is often busy. Had to wait 5 minutes upon arrival. Service was quick and attentive. I recommend the croissants for an appetizer. Can't go wrong with any option here.
Be the first to Reply1-star for the online ordering button- didn't work for me.
Had to order once I got to the restaurant...but the meal was OUTSTANDING!!! The garden salad was packed with flavor and fully dressed, including egg and bacon. The croissant was melt it your mouth yummy-ness. If you just ate that, you'd be happy but I also ordered the fried chicken tenders and dual baby back ribs. The tenders were on point...but I'm over the baby back rib itself...I'll stick with a sparerib...but they was fall off the bone and delicious. The potato soup was also ordered and was a big hit as well. Can't wait to come back. A+

Chris the bartender is top notch! We come here often and love the food!! The salad and croissants are Devine. But we stay for the steak! They also have other great entrees. Give it go! You won't be disappointed.

We had another enjoyable evening at this cool vibe restaurant! Our server Christine was on top of it ensuring we had all we desired and it was nice receiving a visit by a manager checking our satisfaction. We started with peel and eat shrimp appetizer which are very hotly seasoned (cajun maybe?) which was a pleasant surprise; I loved them! The hot towel cleanup was a wow factor for sure!We split a fresh crispy salad then a perfectly prepared roasted salmon entree with side of green beans which we thoroughly enjoyed without any calorie guilt! We are trying to make healthy choices when dining out and we were able to do that at CaliforniaDreaming ...... okay .... I admit it - we loved the honey croissant! Quite a few steps up from the all too oft served hush puppies!

Steak, shrimp, salad and sides-oh, my! Date night got us reserving a table(recommended) and a prompt text msg got us seated without delay. Beautifully decorated open floor plan with vaulted wood ceilings, bar and soft lighting setting a comfortable ambiance. Drinks came promptly followed by our salads and a warm, sweet croissant that simply melted in your mouth. First salads were a mixup but replacements soon came on chilled plates. My Caesar was a nice mix of crisp romaine with grated romano cheese and croutons. Sizable salad nicely tossed and topped. My aged USDA choice 10oz. sirloin steak came marinated in fruit juices, garlic, soy sauce and spices and grilled to my liking. It was moist, loaded with flavor but a tad stringy in the middle. Add on was succulent broiled shrimp with a tangy cocktail sauce and my side was home style mashed potatoes that were chunky and a variation of flavors. Not your standard mashed potatoes. Service was impeccable and Christine was on her A game, working her southern charm that quickly won us over. #morselbliss

I've always been a fan of California Dreaming for their honey butter croissants and prime rib! So I was super excited to order just those items on Christmas Day. Thank god they were open and we ventured in at our reservation time. Before we arrived, I noticed the menu was limited due to the Christmas holiday, which was understandable. What I did not love was the fact that they had already run out of prime rib Christmas dinner ... I struggled to figure out what to order instead. The honey croissants are a MUST, always, no questions asked. I ended up splitting the full rack of baby back ribs and a medium rare ribeye with my dad, so we could both get a bite of each. Each entree comes with a salad - so I got the house salad and HOLY. It is massive and a full meal in itself. Worth every penny, and a colorful tasty bite, at that. The steak and the ribs are massive. But if you're craving a large amount of meat, I highly recommend them. I do enjoy the California Dreaming chain, but I will probably avoid California Dreaming next Christmas to ensure I get my prime rib dinner!

Stopped to grab a bite before our flight and glad we did! The croissants are amazing and the warm house vinaigrette for the salad is a must have! On top of the food being great the service was impeccable. I eat out often and the first thing I look for is "customer service" this will tell much about your experience. Even if the food is not the best - service is very important. So I wanted to leave this review to acknowledge the exceptional service received by Krista. She was very attentive, knowledgeable of menu , kind and sweet.
Be the first to ReplyHad a nice lunch at this location.
Enjoyed the food and the atmosphere. The waitress was not pushy which I appreciated. I had the BBQ nachos. They come with their own made chips. Nice and crunchy. You get plenty of BBQ as well. No complaints. The rest of my party enjoyed their meals. Salmon salad was another favorite at the table. The only reason why I didn't give them 5 stars is because the host who seated us was rude and unfriendly the day we were there. He could not be bothered. It was frustrating.
Be the first to ReplyEver since we ate at the California Dreaming in Charleston,
Ever since we ate at the California Dreaming in Charleston, SC, in 1997, we have to eat here when we come to Myrtle Beach. We ℒℴℯ the atmosphere and the overall ambience of the restaurant and the service has always been excellent. Gwyn was our #1 server, on 10/28/21, when we were in there. It was my birthday dinner. She was courteous, she never let my husbands tea glass get low. The only problem, which she handled very professionally, was with my steak. I ordered the filet mignon done where it was still a little pink inside. Gwyn wrote on the ticket, a note about pink on the inside. Our meals come and I'm still eating my salad. I finally get to my steak, which looks like a piece of blackened steak. I cut through the middle of the steak and it's hard to cut through the char. The inside of my steak is well done. I slice off a bite. All I can taste is the char. It was almost closing and when I showed Gwyn my steak, she said they had already shut the grill down. She took the steak to her manager then she came back and said they would be doing me another. The 2nd steak was cooked properly but just did not taste like it was worth the $35 price for an 8 oz. piece of meat. One reason I got the filet mignon is because I ℒℴℯ the Flo's Filet Mignon at Long Horn. It is the most tender, melt in your mouth, tasty steak and worth every penny. California Dreaming didn't season their steak with anything, except char.Gwyn was a gem and we'd like to wish her good luck in her future endeavors and to always keep learning. Also, congrats on being the apprentice bartender.
