Just a beautiful restaurant.
Wonderfully decorated and lively establishment. It's located in the Burggarten and looks to be an old palace sized green house. The food was wonderfully elevated, the eggs super fluffy and the bread/jams were a perfect breakfast treat. It's best to have a reservation but they can also see you with a small wait. This is a must stop in Vienna

We all got very different dishes and we loved each of them Awesome atmosphere in the greenhouse Go early and expect to wait - or get reservations See pictures for what we got - they were all good!
Be the first to ReplyIt's a beautiful venue and that's the best thing about it.
Not to say everything else was bad, the food was pretty good and the service was fine but the most memorable thing about our experience there was how gorgeous the venue was. Would recommend to experience the ambiance. (Don't get me wrong, food is good. Just not the same level of remarkable as the aesthetics)

Probably one of the coolest places I've ever had the pleasure of eating at! Palmenhaus is definitely one of a kind type of experience. It has a greenhouse like structure and is located around a bunch of stone/ brick buildings, so it sticks out and is easy to find. You cannot get dropped off right in front. Our Uber dropped us off at the entrance to this center spot and we had to walk a few meters- nothing far. We walked in and the first thing you notice is how high the ceilings are. There is so much natural light (which I love) and amazing, lush greenery. We didn't have a reservation but we're told it was no problem. We waited a couple minutes for our servers to set up our table for 6, and were seated promptly. They have a nice variety on the menu. We ordered drinks first, which I got the aperol spritz. It was perfect, the nice 1/2 and 1/2 ratio is always appreciated. We then ordered some appetizers, since we were going to meet some friends at a spot for dinner a bit later. We got the cheese plate, as well as the chilled soup. I forgot the name of the soup, but it was interesting and pretty good. I love basil, and it had basil undertones. I had never had chilled soup before, but it was so hot and I love trying new things- so it was time to try. The cheese plate was good! Always love a good cheese plate- had different varieties of options for different preferences. Before the meal, they served a little dish of whipped ricotta and bread for everyone which was amazing! I think that one was my favorite. SUCH a great spot in Austria- highly recommend.

Excellent brunch items at this airy natural lit cafe in Vienna . The quality of the food is very good and with generous serving size. We had the yogurt with granola and fruit along with coffee , orange juice and some bread with honey and jam . All very yummy and the service was quite quick too .

We decided to check out this location for dinner on our last night in Vienna. The food was good, we ordered the fish and also truffle pasta. I will recommend to check out the biggest greenhouse in Vienna.

The food is great but it's the ambience that sets this place apart. There is a large outdoor patio overlooking the park that is sunny, scenic, and quiet (no street noise). I went back again on a cooler day and found a table inside and it's basically a botanical garden. Great vegetarian options too!

Super slow service, less than ok food. Location was the only reason to go here, but there are plethora of other options. We ordered the Plamenhaus Bfast and Coffee; the breads were hit/miss, white roll was better than the rye (literally felt line eating roll of toilet paper). The coffee was average, it's Vienna coffee basically but namesake for the restaurant. The egg didn't have any flavor, but there is a complimentary salt and pepper to help with. The strawberry & mango shake was bland. Waitress was Joyce Ke, spoke perfect english and german, but had no clue how to serve.

Made a reservation a few days in advance and confirmed over the phone. Got there on time, person working there claimed we didn't have a reservation -- accused us of lying and was extremely rude. Don't really fault them for not keeping track of our reservation -- it was disappointing but these mishaps happen -- but pretty crazy to us that rather than politely brushing it off as a miscommunication they quickly adopted a very hostile tone and literally denied that we ever made a reservation. Not sure if they can't keep their reservations organized, if they dislike American tourists, or if the staff is just rude. But definitely will not be going back and would not recommend to anyone. (As a side note: Ambiance was nice, but from what I saw, food looked decent at best. One of those places where they serve subpar food and expect people to pay exorbitant prices for decor only)

Hands down my favorite restaurant in Vienna!! The entire restaurant is so vibey, both on the inside and on the patio where you get a view of the beautiful Burrgarten! It's a must do when you are visiting Vienna, especially while in the inner city area. It's also a convenient walk to many of the popular tourist places!

What's better on a cold and rainy day than having lunch inside of a giant green house surrounded by nice music, bright colored foliage and good food? Probably very little especially if you were as hungry as we were when we arrived. We came here mostly for wine and dessert in the middle of the day and it was lovely. I wish I could remember our servers name but he really just made the whole experience- regardless of occupation by golly is it refreshing to see someone who really just loves their job. This guy was so full of energy, jovial, and seemed to make everyone's experience a better one. Hugely recommend this for a memorable meal.

TOURIST TRAP! I was really looking forward to our reservation here but was really disappointed in the experience. They don't say anything to you about 3,60 euro "cover charge" when making a reservation or when you sit down, they expect you to read it on the menu. We had a reservation and they sat us in a deserted section of the restaurant and our server ignored us most of the time. We tried to order tap water and were told they only had bottled-then I saw them bring an entire tray of tap water to the other side of the restaurant for other guests. The drinks were the most expensive we had in Vienna and were also ย the worst. The food was mediocre. The space really cool and one of the other female servers actually did try to help us which is why it's getting 2 stars
Be the first to ReplyCame here for breakfast.
Inside was beautifully decorated with plants and trees. Prices were very affordable. Ordered the large breakfast which consisted of bread rolls, butter, prosciutto/ham, cheese, soft boiled eggs, and jam which was all delicious.

This place is a WHOLE vibe! I was living for the plants and greenery that hug every inch of this place, you can definitely get some cute Instagram photos here if you don't mind all the people. Yes, there are a lot of people that come here to eat but don't be discouraged, it took me less 15 minutes to be seated (although I did dine alone lol). But a group behind me sat within a short time after their arrival, the staff do their best to seat people as quickly as possible. Additionally, this "cafe" is conveniently located next to the Butterfly center, Mozart's statue, and other touristy sites.Speaking of the staff, they are all so friendly! I was not able to get the name of my server, but he was sooo attentive. When I was ready to order he approached me as if he knew and when I asked about items on the menu he gave good recommendations. I even saw him change the bottle of wine another table ordered because he talked to his coworker who suggested a similar wine. This guy was here to give world class service.I ordered the polenta truffle gnocchi and homemade mint infused lemonade. Can I just say...GET THE LEMONADE! It was delicious, and. You get a bottle to yourself. The gnocchi was alright, I don't think I would order it again. But I realized this place was known for their brunch items after I ordered my food, shoulda looked it up on Yelp before! If I get the opportunity to come to Vienna again, I will stop by here and get some brunch.

We just had drinks on the terrace, so cannot comment on the food. The service was a little iffy; there was this Asian girl who was our server and she definitely had an attitude with me (and I'm Asian...getting real sick of this reverse racism BS that I seem to attract from my supposed own people). Anyway, drinks were fine. I mean, can you really mess up a beer and a lemonade?

Gorgeous setting, delicious food and drink (the iced coffee with ice cream was amazing!) and excellent service. An absolutely perfect place for drinks and lunch in the springtime sun.
Be the first to ReplyA must-do for us when we visit Vienna.
I would suggest you come here for any meal you can - but especially for breakfast, lunch or brunch. Fantastically yellow/orange eggs, crispy bacon, fresh squeezed orange juice, lovely pastries, bread and such - its a nice place to come. Considering you sit amongst palm trees in a 17th century greenhouse overlooking the greatest architecture and parks that Vienna has to offer, a mere walk from the Leopold Museum and all of the high end shopping - and its a question as to why not. Love it.
Be the first to ReplyI really wanted to like this place really, really badly.
I tried to be positive throughout my visit here, but it progressively got worse. First, we had a reservation and we were seated in a corner where a tree was overhanging the spot. This wouldn't have been a problem, except for the fact that there was dirt, dust and filth caked around the area from months of not being cleaned properly. I felt like I was sitting down in a grungy subway station. After we were seated here, I couldn't shake the disgusted feeling that made my skin crawl, so we requested to move to another seat in the open. Our server obliged, so we were appreciative of that. However, after a few minutes of being reseated, there was an extremely loud BANG that sounded overhead. It sounded like it came from the sound system, but it really startled everyone in the place. Having one loud, reverberating "bang" was flustering, but it continued every few minutes until my nerves were shot. It was absolutely frustrating that no one could figure out what the sound was and how to stop it. Our food was mediocre at best. For the money I paid, I could have gone to a different cafe and gotten a much better experience and the same quality food. The idea of the restaurant was nice, but it was executed poorly. If you intend on having a "greenhouse" as a venue for your cafe, you have to understand that the upkeep is going to be a lot more intense and troublesome. While I tried to appreciate this, the filth was disgusting and made me lose my appetite. Unfortunately, I will not be coming back to this cafe, even if I came back to Vienna.
