Bounty Kitchen Capitol Hill Seattle Reviews from The Last Year

How this place has anything more than 2, MAYBE 3 stars, blows my mind. I get the focus on wanting healthy food but at this point, I'd just go to homegrown which is consistently delicious. My partner and I both had the Havana Libre bowl with chicken and there was no flavor in that whole dish that stood out. They had the audacity to liken this bowl to Cuban food? Hard pass. In fact, I had to add salt multiple times to get any semblance of flavor. I would pay more money for "Pollo Tropical" (in the same class as Chipotle) than eat here. Especially since they served a sorry excuse for chicken which quite honestly tasted like instant pot salsa chicken (this isn't a good thing). I'm glad I tried out this place so the itch to try it is now gone forever, but don't let this cute place fool you - it's not good. I should've trusted the vibe a bit more - which had only a couple customers during what should typically be a bustling lunch time.

2.5/5 I am interested in eating, "healthy food," from restaurants and it seems like there is an attempt here, but it definitely left more to be desired. Daily Soup: Far too oily, we don't know what oils restaurants use because they don't post it publicly. If it's vegetable oil or anything ultraprocessed (soybean oil, canola oil, safflower oil, sunflower oil, grapeseed oil, etc), I don't want it. If it's olive oil, butter, ghee, avocado oil, macadamia nut oil or coconut oil then publicly state it so we can have awareness. The braised beef was so salty, it was almost inedible. Strange flavors of soy and salt, maybe some vinegar and it just feels a little imbalanced or a little off. Anyway, I am being more critical of this restaurant because it is advertised as healthy and I have high standards considering the increasing levels of disease in America. I cook most meals at home anyway due to dismal health options at restaurants available currently even in Seattle. If the meat is going to be that salty, it just ruins the rest of the meal anyway. Maybe put salt packets or soy sauce on the side as an easily available option. The problem with high salt is that it dehydrates the body, which in turn increases the circulating blood sugar and thus insulin release, inflammation, and potential addition of dangerous visceral fat (linked to organ disease). However, I believe that there is potential here. Maybe today's chef was not on their A-Game. I would try this restaurant one more time in the future to give it another chance.
Came in on Sunday around 11am, and it was fairly empty.
Tables were clean, but we did have to move a table for the 3 of us to fit with all of our food haha You come in, place your order and pay, and then your food is brought to you. One of my friends had been here before, and she said to make sure to get the pancakes. I am not usually a pancake person, but these were kind of thinner. So not as dry. And they come with a cinnamon butter! So good. Everything else was so delicious as well. I got a salmon sandwich, the sandwich was a little dry, but the ciabatta was so soft. I love carbs haha I was just in town visiting for the weekend so we talked a bit, I think around 12 or 12:30, business started picking up. It got a little louder but not by much. Overall a great spot in Cap Hill.

Stopped here while in Seattle for the night for a healthy meal, and thought there would be more salad options including vegan protein options. I opted for their "On The Wagon" Detox Salad. It was a good salad but wish I could have added a protein like tofu or jackfruit. Service was fast bringing the food but multiple tables around me were left with dirty dishes on them pretty much the whole time I was there. I had higher hopes for this spot, but didn't fully deliver unfortunately.
Mediocre food and crappy service.
My friends and I came for brunch on Sunday, it was nice so we sat out on the patio. As our food was delivered two hornets started landing on our food. My partner got up abruptly to move away from the bugs. The waiter said dismissively, "It's just a bee" as if my partner overreacted. My friend said, "He's very allergic" to which the server replied, "Well, you guys could move inside." If you have an outdoor patio, I expect you're trying to keep bugs off your guests. And when someone is upset by hornets, don't minimize their concern over a legitimate allergy concern. The food was mediocre at best. My friend's avocado toast was literally just smashed avocado on toast with some salt and a few sprigs of arugula. It barely filled the plate! My partner's breakfast sandwich was served on soggy ciabatta and was an over cooked egg (it was supposed to be poached) with a slice of ham and some dry arugula. No spread or dressing, no side. I ordered the scramble which took up barely half the plate and came lukewarm with shredded, unmelted cheese on top. My plate was finished with two tiny slices of sourdough and some scallions for garnish (some were huge chunks and others nice slivers). For such a simple dish that most people could prepare at home, $18 is way too much. The "famous house-made" bloody mary I got to drink? Chunky with tomato pulp and seeds so it was difficult to drink. The bathroom trash was overflowing while four people on the waitstaff were socializing at the bar. We won't be coming back and we've shared our poor experience with this restaurant with our friends. For the same price, you can find much better service and higher quality food elsewhere.

We were in the area wanting a healthy meal and both of our bowls were phenomenal! Very cute place with a nice patio and charming interior. This may be one of my favorite spots I ate while visiting Seattle.
Love this place.
Great food, always so fresh and tasty, quite a few of healthy choices on the menu. The service is very friendly and nice. It's my 5th time here, probably, and I'm constantly in love.
Came in on a Monday around 11, was very empty.
Ordered a forager scramble and the griddle cakes, along with a lavender iced latte and some OJ. I thought the forage scramble was good, but wasn't anything too crazy. The coffee was yummy, but I had asked for less ice and a to-go cup. Food came relatively fast, and it was a nice place to eat!

Delicious, fresh, inventive, deeply flavourful, and affordable! With friendly service, and a place to sit in the shade outside or many seating options inside. We were delighted!
Certainly healthy, fresh, and delicious!! I wouldn't say
Certainly healthy, fresh, and delicious!! I wouldn't say it's anything mind blowing but I appreciate the care towards organic and homemade food! Ordering was quick as well. You order at the front, get a number, and find a place to sit. We sat at their patio but there is also plenty of seating inside. It would be great for large groups as well!
