Bincho at Hua Bee
The food is only average with a high price tag. Probably would not return as I would get a better quantity of food at a more reasonable pricing level elsewhere. The group of chefs behind the counter were not very professional tasting food in the glaring eyes of the customer.
Be the first to ReplyOverpriced and terrible value for money
Had a 30% Chope voucher and used it for the Kaisen set lunch menu. The set was overpriced and terrible value for money for what was served even with the 30% voucher factored in. Will not return if the menu is not revamped to offer customers better value. The space is however quite cool and service efficient and friendly.

Funky ambiance, great service, and delicious yakitori sets and very delicately prepared. We went during lunch and found good value in their lunch sets.
Be the first to ReplyOverpriced restaurant with average food, service and decor
Food was about 3x overpriced. Plain water was chargeable at $2 per person Sitting area didn’t even have a backrest and was highly uncomfortable Food took too long to be delivered and service was below average

Taste of the food overall is acceptable. Drinks are great. Service are superb from the waitresses. But some of the dishes are a bit overpriced served with a little portion only
Be the first to ReplyGood vibes, great food!
This was my first time at Bincho and I loved it. I didn't know what to expect but the menu was so different and diverse. The service was also amazing. Can't wait to go back!
Be the first to ReplyExcellent place for Japanese food!
I highly recommend this lovely place for Japanese food that are prepared straight from the heart. I had the Ninja lunch set which I delightfully enjoyed every course of the meal.
Be the first to ReplyFeed back
Food serving was to fast despite numerous feed back to slow down the serving of the dishes . At the end of the meal they ask us to pay the bill and we felt we were chase out . Poor service especially after spending 700$ for yakitori
Be the first to ReplyExcellent Variety and Taste
If you have a desire for a variation on Japanese Yakitori fresh grilled over charcoal then head over to Bincho. A hidden find in Tiong Bahru. If you like Octopus their version is a must try. Even the mixed veg platter is delicious. Enjoy
Be the first to ReplyYakitori with all parts of chicken served
Excellent meal at Bincho @Hwa Bee, where we ordered the Samurai set for dinner. Started with fried chicken skins topped with caviar, gizzards, hearts, different parts of chicken including stuffed wings, soft bone and butts. Ended with cold chicken ramen flavoured with lemon slices, and Hokkaido icecream for dessert with Shine muscat grapes. Interesting concept having to enter from the back door of the kopi tiam.
Be the first to ReplyOver priced restaurant
poorly maintained premise with smell of swage pipe. Tiny and uncomfortable table seating. Yet they charge premium restaurant price. Sashimi is severely overpriced with standard comparable to sashimi from NTUC. You can get much better quality sashimi with 30% price from isetan.
Be the first to ReplyAverage service and barely working air-conditioning
Average service and barely working air-conditioning. There was also a faint smell of sewage near the drinks section.
Be the first to ReplyNot as good as i remembered…
Went to Bincho many years ago and it was an awesome experience but this trip to Bincho was disappointing. Octopus was soft, not sure if it was supposed to? Place is still very special and service is great! but food, standard needs improvement.
Be the first to ReplyExcellent Food As Always
Fun vibe with excellent food and service. We had a selection of both yakituki and don's and everything served was excellent. Staff we friendly and helpful, and watching the chefs work their magic was a great experience. The vibe of the restaurant was great too, such an imitate place. Top quality, would recommend.
Be the first to ReplyVoucher can't be used
I bought the Chope voucher straight after I booked the lunch. The staff said because it's eve of PH. The experience is not great but because I'm stuck with the vouchers, I have to go back again. Maybe that will be my last visit. Frankly food wise, it's not bad but can get similar standard elsewhere.
Be the first to ReplyOverpriced
Food was overpriced. Our table was next to a fridge and the restaurant has no window. Food was average and hence the value of money was low.
Be the first to ReplyFood and Service was great, but pricy.
The food here was simply amazing. While you enter from the rear entrance into the shop, everything about the place was just very old school. But the space exuded a very casual atmosphere, where you could enjoy your food in comfort. For the food itself, it was top notch. The freshness of the fish, the grilled items, and even the salad was just simply amazing. The panna cotta at the end, while done slightly different from the panna cotta you find at Italian restaurants, was still delicious. Overall, a great experience trying the food. But be prepared to pay for the quality.
Be the first to ReplyChic Restaurant which serves good food!
Had a great lunch at Bincho in Hua Bee. Conveniently located, chic and serve really great food! Its one of the few places i will recommend to couples and close friend to enjoy a great meal together.
Good food and attentive service, balanced with the price.
Visited recently. Let me start with a harmless ranting. Honestly, I don't appreciate restaurants having their entrance at the back of house where the drains are, because there will be stench no matter how well you maintain. Diners, pls. let the restaurant know not to get you seated near their entrance as I noticed a funky smell.
My partner & I were early, and reached before 7pm, when the sky was still pretty bright. However, when we left, around 8pm, the entrance was dark and badly lit, not the best place to impress first date.
Back to the food and service. When we arrived, we were greeted by friendly staff, which promptly showed us to our seats. Their latest menu is written at the board, do check with the staff as the items on the online menu may not be available.
We ordered the following;
1. Yakitori thigh
2. Mentai wings
3. Heart
4. Gizzard
5. Chicken broth
6. Tomato Salad
7. Yakitori neck
8. Grilled omi wagyu with summer truffle
Among the yakitori dishes, my partner & I enjoyed the heart & gizzard most, followed by the neck. These 3 dishes came with seasonings and special spice power and flavoured salts which helped enhanced the taste. As for the thigh, it was ok, tender and juicy, but pretty bland though.
The omi beef was excellent, which I expected it to be & not just good, considering it was $120/plate (not sure how many grams it was though).
Tomato salad was enjoyable, refreshing & came with very delightful sauce that balanced between sweetness and citrusy.
The chicken broth was literally chicken soup for the soul. At $3/bowl, I strongly recommend diners to order a bowl to go with your dishes. It added that warmth & oomph to the meal.
I will revisit the joint, but will skip the Yakitori thigh, and go with the innards & neck, & try some other grills.
Expensive restaurant
To make reservation, you have to pay $90 non-refundable deposit and you can not offset with your Chope vouchers. With the price paid, i will prefer to go to a 5 stars restaurant. The decoration of the restaurant is not really impressive, it is just the initial surprise of going to the restaurant via the back door. After we paid near to $300 for the dinner for 3 pax, we still need to go the nearby hawker center for another round.
Be the first to ReplyGreat food and service. Pricey. Portion for sharing max 2 people.
I think the food was great, pricey but tasty. Not all m fav but would come back again for the Octopus and beef tongue. The portion is too small for sharing more than 2 people, we came as 3 pax and we ended up ordering 4 dish because it was not filing, usually on average 3 dish would be enough. The decor a bit random too be honest one is like underground bar, the other one is like rundown japanese yakitori stall?
Also was a bit upset that they ask us to deposit $90 (non refundable) for the seats but call us to let us know that we can only seat for 1.5 hours, If not they ask us to come 1 hour earlier.. lucky my friend able to free her schedule earlier or else we probably won't be able to enjoy our food peacefully. But aside from that the service was great when we where there. The waiter was very kind and was very attentive.
Good food, great ambience, couldn’t ask for more!
Our go to Japanese restaurant, never fail to impress! Their lunch sets are reasonably priced, dinner is slightly more pricey (as it always is) but definitely worth a try!
Be the first to ReplyFood is good but a little pricy
Like the unique ambience and food was really good but slightly on the high side. Probably need to do something about the unpleasant smell from the bathroom, even though I understand it’s an old building.
Be the first to ReplyPaid so much but have to eat in a rush
Paying for a $150 omakase and we felt like we are eating in a rush. Leave no space to enjoy the foods at all! Yes i know the restaurant have 2 seating but perhaps they shouldn't do it on omakase. Food was ok but nothing to shout about. Overall not a enjoyable dinner and we probably won't be back again. This time the entrance of the restaurant have somekind of sewage smell.
