This has been our go to for many years .
The service is great and they don't have a lot of turnover which tells me that the owners are good to the employees and that means a lot to me . I like that they have vegetarian options such as the soft noodles and veggies / vegan ham. Moscow mules are also delicious.
Be the first to Replypoor customer service .
we requested a booth for our toddler with autism and a vision impairment and were denied . the place was more than half empty . i pretty much begged and explained our situation sharing that he gets excited and a little loud and about his disability. again denied because " reserved for groups of 5 " when we were a group of three . again the place more than half empty. three minutes later a white male with one child was granted the seat we requested . didn't catch the servers name ( the one with shaved eyebrows ) but she should be reminded a little empathy and understanding goes a long way. also let me add the pho was overcooked ( like masa balls ) . we used to love this place but it's just not the same and quite frankly we are disappointed. I recommend ANYWHERE else . gas station ramen noodles would do the trick . .
Be the first to ReplyWe love going to basil and mint.
The food is great and the service is also good. The Pho is incredible and delicious. Healthy servings and happy smiles. We love happy hour and getting great food deals. We love our server the bartender she's sweet. Two thumbs up from this food consumer, enjoy!Combination Pho
Be the first to ReplyGreat service and delicious eats.
Steamed pot stickers or spicy garlic chicken wings are our go-tos for starters. Filet mignon pho, wonton soup with noodles and pork, or chicken curry pho are our go-tos for mains. Cocktails are so good - whiskey smash, classic daiquiri, and margarita are our favorites. Also like that they have an app to order ahead and pick up.

I went there for calamari pho and fried egg roll all the food I ordered were bad the egg roll tasted old and just odorous I tried to eat it but it's hard since it's smelled in fresh the calamari was old and has a jello texture the pho soup was tasteless like watered down the service was good but the food was really bad I'm just thankful I didn't have stomach ache I used to love that place due to freshness but I don't know what happened plus please fix the restrooms it smelled I'm so disappointed cause it's one of the best place to eat before.
Be the first to ReplyThe food was delicious, my new favorite pho spot.
It was also very reasonably priced, we will will be coming back for sure.
Be the first to ReplyHave never had a bad experience here.

Stopped here for lunch on the way home from a visit to Solvang and I'm very sad it's located so far from home. The dishes we ordered were all delicious, beautifully-presented, and a good size. I will have to stop here the next time I pass through Camarillo!

Loved the menu here!!! Our waitress was absolutely wonderful and very attentive. We chose to eat inside but there's outside seating as well. Will definitely go back!!!

Great place to eat for happy hour prices this is my go to when I remember. Always delicious and tasty food too eat. I'm glad that they survived the pandemic though many businesses didn't have the same luck.

We are used to fancier Vietnamese food, but the food at Basil & Mint is very good, the staff is super nice and the service is very nice. Our waiter and the manager were super nice and that makes a huge difference!

The chicken fried rice and wonton soup are my two favorite dishes - serving sizes are big and the prices are good! There's also a cute outdoor patio area and a bar inside
Be the first to ReplyRainy day recommended: Pho.
Get some good broth, with beef and rice noodles. Great service, and great atmosphere. Makes a rainy cold day so awesome. However if it's not rainy: get a mule and a banh mi sandwich and chill. Great ambience. Can get busy, so bring your patience cuz it's worth it.
Be the first to ReplyBasil and Mint is a great Vietnamese restaurant I like to
Basil and Mint is a great Vietnamese restaurant I like to stop by once in a while when I'm around the area. It's a wonderful spot for a casual lunch or dinner, outdoors or indoors, and not too far of a drive from the beach. The service is friendly (not too overbearing or intrusive; more on the quiet side) and food comes out timely depending on the traffic. I love their vegan menu items, especially their spring rolls!
Be the first to ReplyNot really impressed with the food and customer service.
First, was put on hold for 15 mins to place an order. The employee didn't apologize for the long hold hold and she took my order as if there was not a care in the world and sounded like she didn't want to be there. The restaurant looked empty so I don't know why she acted stressed. Food was cold and bland. This place was once a great restaurant but the new owners are running it to the ground.

Every dish is awesome, the people are amazing, great service and the atmosphere rocks

Walking in on a sunny noon in Camarillo, this little gem is tucked deep in the corner and recess of this plaza. However, rough areas often produces the most beautiful gem. This place is no exception. I am surprised that while it is run by a primarily non-Asian staff, the food is SPECTACULARLY MADE. As a Vietnamese, I could tell that the food here is authentic and comparable to even your mom's cooking! The real culinary gem of this restaurant lies within the item: filet mignon or com Bo luc lac (literally quivering or shaking beef -- due to the process it is made). This dish features tender cubes of beef that is on a bed of rice with amazing dark sauce and caramelized onions. This is supplemented with salad that includes a vinegrette dressing which made for the ultimate dish. The taste lingers in your mouth long after you're gone. The staff here is amazing and attentive to your needs. They are very patient even when mistakes are made and as such, this place deserves the highest of stars! The interior decor with Vietnamese lunar new year is beautiful so it is unique to see this place go through the effort of being inclusive of cultures along with red envelopes. Coming from Orange County, there is no quite place that compares! Panda the server is attentive and polite so if you need anything, just get her attention!
Be the first to ReplyI order a combination pho, spring rolls, and a thia tea
I order a combination pho, spring rolls, and a thia tea boba. The pho was good, the temperature was warm. The food portions are fairly big. I would skip the spring rolls and bobas. The spring rolls tasted stale and refrigerated. The boba was soggy with more ice than the actual drink. The customer service is terrible, the bad reviews on customer service are no joke. My order was messed up and the waiter had a bad attitude when I asked him a question. The restaurant was empty, and not crowded yet they take a while to check up on you for refills/condiments. You'll be finished with your food by the time you get a refill. If you want to be left alone this is a good spot! The ambiance is a mixture of family-friendly/sports bar. There is a bar located in the middle of the restaurant with TVs for guests to watch sport games. On the sides of the restaurant are booths where it is quieter and cozy.Overall, I would order takeout.

We have been wanting to try this place for years and finally got out of our routine and visited today and we are so glad we did. Panda took care of us and was so sweet, knowledgeable and helpful. My husband and I spilt two meals. We had the filet mignon and the vermicelli noodle plate with shrimp, pork and egg rolls. Everything was so fresh and tasty. We will be back! Highly recommend!
Be the first to ReplyThe spicy garlic chicken wings were great.
The waitress we had last night was helpful (1/20/23). The greeter at the door was a female dog. Not the same tasting Pho like before it seems. And springrolls were fresh out the refrigerator. If I do come back it'll be only for the wings. And I guess pets are allowed in that restaurant.

On the east coast, I've typically been out of luck finding vegetarian options, especially pho. Coming to California showed that vegetarian Vietnamese food is very possible! We ordered a bunch of items, including the vegetarian egg rolls and the seaweed rolls. Apparently, Yelp allowed me to receive free egg rolls upon checking in to the restaurant, except it was only two. For our group, that didn't make much sense. That aside, the steal of the show was the lemongrass vegan chicken. I don't eat a lot of fake meat, but this didn't remind me of chicken. It was well cooked. The serving size was huge though, I wasn't able to finish my meal.I tried a bit of the vegetarian curry pho. However, that serving size was also huge. We probably should've shared some of the meals. The place itself isn't fancy at all. It gives the vibe of a diner a bit, but with dope Vietnamese food. That certainly helps.
Be the first to ReplyWell-mom and I were running errands all morning and it
Well-mom and I were running errands all morning and it dawns on me-I had not eaten breakfast. Stomach grumbling, headache ridden, energy running at all time low, raining cats and dogs-craving Pho-led us to Basil & Mint.We walked in-dripping wet (even with umbrellas) we were seated in corner booth of the dining room.First thing we noticed was the room was clean. Seats are not sticky and tables weren't tacky. Second was the music. Rain outside, classic rock, seems like regulars are plentiful. We placed our order with Panda. Now, Panda is a great server. She is funny, warm, and focused on making her customers feel at home. This establishment-is different. It's goal is to make you feel at home-stay-eat and relax. Unlike many other pho/ramen houses-where there is very obvious "eat and go" feel. I love that the staff all make rounds with other regs. The Bar Master-went around and caught up with tables as well. Very different and great to see. I can't think of the last time I saw staff making small talk with customers. More of this should take place. Now for the food.....I usually take photos of my food before I consume it. I honestly cannot remember the last time I didn't....and I can't remember the last time I gave 5 stars....so here it goes:The Pho arrived-and the broth was this beautiful color. It was clear but had a mahogany tint to it. Bowls were piping hot and soup was steaming. We ordered the regular sizes we noticed-if this is regular-how big is the larger?! For what you pay-this is a big bowl. The flavor was insane good. The soup had so much flavor and depth-it dug into you as you ate. Between the soup, amount of noodles and the ambiance-we left with our tummies full, happy and lefts singing - in the rain.Panda made us feel so welcome-I think I've found my Pho house.Sad to know Mon-Tuesday they aren't open but so happy to hear they are open all other days!!I will be back with more cravings.
