Is this place seriously serving food?? The bruschetta was inedible, as the bread was hard as a rock and the topping had zero flavor. The tuna sandwich was the same. The bread was hard as a rock!!! I thought maybe the margarita would be good - but I drank it on an empty stomach and didn't even feel the alcohol. Should have respected the 2 stars and stayed away from this place!

Came here on a rainy day to try this highly recommended bar out. My husbands friend came here and absolutely loved it so we had to try. We had red wine and shared bruschetta. Was very tasty and a great place to people watch outside. Even though it was rainy we were still covered by the umbrellas. Totally go back again.
Be the first to ReplyThe food was really disappointing.
We stopped here for a late afternoon snack and the waitress didn't take the full order before walking away. The wine selection was really sparse. The bruschetta was just tomatoes covered in olive oil on bread. Flavorless and kinda sad. It seemed like the woman was way to busy to deal with the place by herself. Maybe it's better when staff is actually there?

Us four American ladies had a hard time deciding on 4 or a 5 Star. Great service and great wine! We had the pizza, tortellini, salad and lasagna! The food was fresh and we sat outside and watched the other tourists walk by. Flowers on the table and the other tourists seemed to also enjoy their visit. The wine ran out too quickly. :)

I hate to be mean but Omg! This is the worst pizza I have ever eaten in my life. The worst part is that I am in Italy. What a disappointment. I ordered a pepperoni pizza and got a pizza with green peppers on it. To add insult to injury, it was cold when served and actually under cooked. How do you mess up pizza in Italy. They are not keeping it real. On the bright side, the lady who waited on us was very nice and accommodating. It we didn't even. Other telling her that we hated it. We just paid our bill and moved on. Ugh!

We ate lunch here after our lunch reservations were a bust since it was a holiday. We stopped right before going into the Pitti Palace and Boboli Gardens to fuel up. Our waiter new some english, he was just ok. Our party of five sat in a table out in the piazza so we could watch people walk by and the artists selling painting and sketches across the street. I ordered still water to drink and some people at my table ordered with gas. There was a little bit of confusion with communication and I didn't get my still water for a while until we asked again, then our waiter went and got it. To eat I ordered the caprese salad and tortellini ragu which I split with my aunt. The salad was nice and fresh, mozzarella was spot on and the tomatoes were plump and juicy. The lettuce was cut kind of odd some were good bite sizes while others were a few pieces not cut all the way so they were connected and almost too big to fit in my mouth. The tortellini was ok I think some pieces were overcooked. The ragu was meaty, but kinda oily. In conclusion just an ok convenient meal.

Stopped into the Bar Pitti for a "refreshment" after spending several hours exploring the Pitti Palace and the Boboli Gardens. The Bar Pitti is located right across the street from the Pitti Palace, so it was a convenient place to stop for a "treat". Unfortunately, perhaps in part because of the location, we found this spot to be a bit touristy, and the proprietors to be less than welcoming and actually somewhat unfriendly compared to nearly all of our other "refreshment" stops. When exploring Florence on foot, you can't really help yourself but to make frequent stops . . . either for a caffe, a gelato, a pastry, or a glass of chianti . . . choose your poison!!At the Bar Pitti we did enjoy our Caffe Latte, Acqua, and Foc Spinaci e Riccota (Spinach & Riccota Focacia). Also, the prices were reasonable. However, on the basis of the service which was somewhat lacking, I can justify no more than 3 stars. For our party of 3, our tab was 20.50 Euros or about US$27 at today's exchange rate. (2 lattes @ EUR3.50 + 3 acquas @ EUR2.50 + 2 focaccias @ EUR3.00).
