One of the best breakfasts in FoCo.
We love the Back Porch! Everything made fresh and from scratch, the pecan rolls and Chicken Fried Steak are so delicious. For lunch the prime rib French dip and Chocolate Bourbon Pecan pie is to die for. The service is always great and the owner and chefs are always checking up on the customers.

The Back Porch has great food and has been one of our favorite go to restaurants for 25 years. This past weekend we met up with another couple. Just short of 90 minutes, we were beginning to say our goodbyes, when the restaurant manager came up to us and asked us to vacate our table. He said they were busy and other people were waiting. We were in a corner room away from the entrance and did not realize people were waiting, or we would have left sooner. In all my years of dining out, I have never been asked to leave. We will no longer eat there.
Be the first to ReplyGreat food, great service, very friendly staff, comfortable. The place to refer your friends.
We love the place and will return many times in the future. Ask Mike to show you around. We were there to have breakfast while visiting our granddaughter who is a student at CSU. We had been referred there by friends. It was an excellent choice.
Be the first to ReplyEggs Benedict
Back Porch Cafe has a variety of breakfast offerings. I was here for the Eggs Benedict. My review is only of the Benedicts, nothing else. The staff was polite and helpful. Elaine was my waitress. She took good care of me and was a delight. With that in mind, I will let you know that have a "top ten" list for Benedicts. After my visit I was able to rate these "Bennys" in my top 10. #1 being the best and #10 not as good. Now with that said I rated these Bennys at #8. My rating is based on 3 weights : 70% = taste 20% = presentation 10% = price #1 - taste: They DO use thick pieces of flavorful hand carved ham with a slight smoked flavor. The eggs were a perfect easy. The Hollandaise sauce was made from scratch and had a neutral taste. The reason I review Eggs Benedict is because of the difference in the flavor of the Hollandaise sauce. They do not have hash browns but the little square breakfast potatoes. They were tasty but not what I was looking for. All of this brought the review down to 3 stars. #2 -presentation : It was pleasing. #3-price: $13. 99 is a little high. Coffee for $3 a cup is pushing it but seems to be the norm in a lotta places. . I spoke with the chef/owner about his version of the Eggs Benedict. He was very personable and forthcoming about his cooking. He listened to what I had to say, (mostly positive). With a lower price and more hollandaise sauce with a slight more flavor and with hash browns this could have moved up in my top 10. Thanks to the owner/chef Gene for his candid conversation.

First visit. Really nothing very impressive about this place. The food was ok, not outstanding but not bad either. The very young staff was not outstanding nor bad, just so so. They did not seem to want to be there. I sure did not feel really welcome. I doubt if I give it another go.
Be the first to ReplyWhere do I start. This place is amazing.
We have driven by often and always said we wanted to eat here. Well we finally did and can't be more glad. We drove about 25 miles to come here. When we arrived we were greeted immediately and in a friendly manner. The waiter that we had was just amazing and incredible with our kiddos and was just plain great. The food selection is great and we all mentioned how we would have to come back many times to try everything that we wanted to. This is a place that also has an amazing patio that is quiet and a nicely landscaped area that also helps with the experience. This is a must when you are in Ft. Collins. Great job.
Be the first to ReplyNice Patio
In good weather, the "patio" at BP is a delightful place to enjoy a meal. I had a decent BBQ pork sandwich, and the beer was cold. Our server was both personable and professional. While the food is just average, it is worth it to come just for the patio itself.

We met a couple here for a late Sunday lunch, it was quiet with only 3 tables outside. Our waitress was patient while we tried to find a table outside but not in direct sun, but another waitstaff showed us how to move the umbrella. Our waitress came to our table when we placed our order & when she brought our check. Every other time we needed her we had to flag her down. It was hot outside, and we were continually out of drinks. When she did come (again, after finding her) every time she gave me something she passed it in front of my Hubby's face (as in inches from his nose) instead of walking next to me. This includes filling up my water, giving me a to-go box, etc. Food was a disappointment. I ordered a half slab of ribs with coleslaw and potato salad. The ribs came out warm with cold barbeque sauce dumped on top. The coleslaw was sour, and a different color than the other two coleslaw sides at our table. A different waitress came to our table and replaced my side with fruit. This will be our last trip to Backporch Cafe.
Be the first to ReplyOur New Second Favorite Breakfast Spot
We're huevos rancheros snobs. Breakfast snobs. We abandoned Silver Grill years ago (and likely won't give them another shot). Sadly, we just retired our previous #2 spot: Urban Egg. Seems they've changed hands...and habits. So it was particularly delightful to experience The Backporch Father's Day morning. Their huevos matched that of Urban Egg in their heyday. Packed with flavor. Generous portion (we always share). Topping it off, we had killer drinks. My bloody mary was every bit as good as anything I'd created at the previously-outstanding bloody bar at Urban. Why had we not discovered this gem? Long story. We're just glad we have you now. The Butcher remains our deeply revered #1 spot. Who knows, though....
Be the first to ReplyShaky at best
Had breakfast with family and was not impressed what so ever. First of the place was as loud as a rock concert. I know some places can get loud but this was over the top. They had the music so loud that everyone had to scream to hear each other. Then i think they kept turning the music up. A vicious cycle. On to the food. My chicken fried steak was like chewing on an intertube with the taste of one. Toast not toasted. My wifes breakfast burrito (which was overpriced as it was) didnt come with green chili on top. They charged $3 for a tablespoon of it. Give me a break i've been eating BB's for years and i cant recall a time i was ever charged for green chili on top. Bloody marys looked fancy with garnish but tasted like cheap bloody mix with a little tabasco in it. MUch better breakfast in town at cheaper prices.

Good food as usual. Sidwalk was nicely shoveled after a 2" overnight snow. But patrons were expected to trudge through the pile of sidewalk snow at the end of the sidewalk. No option here to attach the pic i took.
Be the first to ReplyFun place for lunch
What a fun place to go to eat. The cafe is also a knitting/weaving/craft store. Really nice menu for breakfast or lunch. The food is freshly made and very tasty. Beautiful soup and delicious sandwiches. The staff are friendly and the service efficient.
