Very disappointing, especially at this price point.
Portions of pasta were surprisingly small. In a party of three, orders of pasta didn't come out together -- one person in our party was almost finished eating before the third person was served. No explanation, no apology. Quality of pork used in one of the pasta dishes was very poor. Didn't do a good job dealing with a food allergy. Won't be back.
The service was outstanding.
I enjoyed the ambiance. I had the corn ravioli with blue crab (i forget the exact name). It was a tiny portion for $38, yet I admit I'd buy it all over again as it was one of the best pasta dishes I've had.

We had a reservation but can early and ended up sitting at the bar and it was so much fun! The bartender makes amazing drinks and also have a lot of fun with the guests! Even gave us a free sample at one point! Huge wine selection and the food is hard to beat! Overall a must try in Bethesda
An eclectic menu for an Italian restaurant.
I found very little that was appealing. The $17 glass of Pinot Noir was a very small pour. The flatbread was more like focaccia. Pasta portions were very tiny and had unusual combinations of ingredients. Although the decor was attractive, it was noisy even on a Tuesday night. I would definitely not go back there. On top of all that it was fairly pricey for the amount of food we ordered.

I would say the interior and location for a nice sit down restaurant is the appeal here. The inside is nice and clean and spacious. Having a larger table is definitely not the issue at this location. The service was impeccable as we were the only large table. They were attentive and always filling up water and checking in. I would say that the food is the one that leaves you wanting more. The food was okay in my opinion, but the amount and the seasoning of the dishes do leave you with a feeling of not really being full. For the ones who enjoy smaller portions, this works for them, but for me, it ends up being harder to justify getting appetizers and an entree and then considering another entree because I didn't eat enough. As for the seasoning, I would probably lean into adding a bit more spice into the dishes or fresh cracked pepper for some spice. The salt levels were fine, but a bit more black pepper would have given the dish more oomph.

Sat at the bar for happy hour and every bite was better than the next! Menu online differs from bar menu. Bartender/waiter was excellent. Pasta was perfectly Al dente. Left full and happy!
Aventino is easily one of the best places I've been to in
Aventino is easily one of the best places I've been to in Bethesda. The service is top-notch, and the atmosphere always hits the right note. I first met Joe behind the bar, and he's been a standout ever since. There isn't a drink he doesn't know how to make or at least come impressively close, even if they don't have the exact ingredients. His recommendations are always on point. The food is fantastic too. The menu gets refreshed every so often, which keeps things fresh. It's a popular spot , so consider making a reservations. Highly recommend this place if you're looking for great food, great drinks, and even better service.
Extremely loud restaurant, nothing sad special here
What a disappointment, extremely loud dining area, waitress practically yelling at us to explain the specials . Food was average at best, nothing special here. Similar to eating in a loud food court at the mall.

The food was nothing special, if you have had the opportunity to travel in Italy. Their problem is and i'm sure they're well aware of this is the incredibly loud noise level. We were in and out of the restaurant less than 40 minutes. Even our waitstaff had to yell at us so we could hear her. Not relaxing, not enjoyable and worth the price. Hard pass.
This literally just happened.
We came out here for the first time with some family who were in town for the week. We made a reservation, we were seated, we ate and talked, and everything was lovely. Nice and attentive staff, good food. Everything was fine up until the last 10 minutes of our evening. The manager came by and asked us if we enjoyed our meal, and we said everything was great. Then she said "okay glad to hear it, now is the time where I need to ask you to leave to make room for our next table." They had just served us dessert about 10-15 min prior. We had just paid the bill and tipped to the total amt of $560. She sent her servers over to take our water. They took my dessert while I was still eating, and also tried to take my coffee and wine. I'm honestly still in shock and so flipping angry. This was our first time at this restaurant, and we were just thinking what a nice place to take friends, we will come here more often. Nope! I've never been asked to leave a restaurant in my life. Also it's Wednesday night. If you're thinking this is Friday Saturday and we were just hogging the table, absolutely not. If you're thinking maybe we were rude and loud, I assure you absolutely not. For the first time in my life I wanted to confront the manager on the way out like a Karen, but she'd escaped somewhere to the back and let her staff take the fallout, and I wouldn't have said anything to them because they were super nice. But we won't be going back there literally ever, even though we live close enough by. So freaking rude, I cannot believe it. And it was so obvious we were almost done. That's the absolutely wild part. Two almost empty glasses of wine left, a couple waters, 1/2 a remaining dessert being eaten, and the check signed barely 5 min prior. Hopefully they get some more professional managers in the future cause this woman was unreal. I feel bad for her staff. Wednesday night, June 25, 2025.

I hosted a group of 10 colleagues from work. Dinner was excellent. Service was great. Highly recommend this place in an otherwise mostly average Bethesda restaurant scene.
Okay Italian Food - Nothing Special
We were expecting this restaurant to have exceptionally good food, but we were unfortunately underwhelmed. The appetizers and pasta dishes were so-so. They weren’t bad, but they just didn’t stand out and weren’t things we would want to eat again. The interior is very nice, the servers are friendly, and the overall vibe is enjoyable, but the food, unfortunately, makes the restaurant nothing special.
Expensive Pasta with a Side of Noise
This restaurant purports to be Bethesda's latest and greatest. At first it seems nice. While limited, the menu had some appealing options. But the choices are few and seemingly constructed to force customers toward a pasta dish. I think I know why. Higher profit margin. Very expensive pasta dishes are so small, you can't help but leave hungry. And the use of pork to flavor everything might be a problem for many. With very high prices and very small portions, food should be stellar. It is not. The service was excessive (to the point of annoying). We were all exhausted at the endless interruptions by our wait staff - water every 20 seconds, reaching over us, asking if we have allergies, if we have been there before, if our food is good, if we need anything, if we want more bread (they charged for it) and on and on. The waitress should have sat down and joined us. Management doesn't know when enough is enough - it defines good service as pestering. Too bad. One note of caution. Every surface in the restaurant is a hard surface. And much of the space is a few steps down in a basin-like area. As a result, the noise level is magnified and simply intolerable. One literally cannot have a conversation without yelling. You can't hear the person next to you. We all agreed, ridiculously loud. Oh Bethesda. You tried. Those who invest/visit may write good reviews to validate themselves given the high price they paid. But overall, none of us were inclined to return.

Food was amazing !!! Our server Codie was perfect, and the "birthday queen" got an awesome rose cake. Will definitely be back
Great Dining Experience - Unique Culinary Approach!
My wife and I dined at Aventino last evening and had a great experience. This was our first, but definitely not our last visit. From our warm greeting at the hostess desk by Selam and Francesco, to the attentive service from Olivia, we had a wonderful dining experience. The decor makes you feel like you’re in a restaurant on Aventino, one of the seven hills of Rome. Great vibe; good energy, but not too noisy. We ordered the risotto fritters, roasted cauliflower with chili crisp, kale pesto pasta (trottole noodle) and butternut squash ravioli, all of which were amazingly delicious, with a unique culinary approach brought by executive chef Mike! Don’t miss this dining experience!
Perfect, attentive service and a delicious assortment of beautifully prepared food.
I had dinner here with 2 friends, and we shared all of the dishes that we ordered, 3 starters, 2 pastas, 1 side and 2 desserts. Everything was absolutely delicious, in generous portions. We were unable to finish all of our food. A couple of highlights of the meal were the crispy (delicately battered and fried) fennel and delicata squash, which came with a heavenly dipping sauce, a salad with apples and nuts, that was so delicious, but too large for the three of us to finish, and the most amazing pasta I've ever eaten, their cacio y pepe. It sounded plain on the menu, but for me was the highlight of the eventing. I made the reservation through the Resy system, and I guess Resy has my personal allergies in there, because our waiter came to the table as we were seated, already knowing that I had allergies, and made sure he understood my situation before he took our orders. He was diligent in understanding what my limitations were, and assured me that he would take care of me. When he brought the salad, he brought 2 separate dressings, one for me and one for my two friends, so they wouldn't have to be subjected to my exclusions. I appreciated this communication and accommodation. The restaurant was packed and bustling on the Sunday night that we dined there. The attentive service and lovingly prepared food were excellent. I highly recommend this place, if you're able to get a reservation.
Lunch at Aventino is Fantastico!
Best lunch in Bethesda. Aventino is delicious and the setting is idyllic. There a few truly special lunch spots like Aventino. The service is friendly and efficient. We were celebrating, so we lingered. That said, I saw folks on obvious schedules who were in and out in an hour yet it was obvious they has a nice experience. The menu has many options and, based on the quality, it is a good value. Me and my friend shared the Pizza Rossa, Insalata, Rigatoni, and Flounder - all were outstanding. The Flounder may be the best piece of fish I’ve enjoyed this year - and I dine out often. It was perfectly crisp with a flawless sear. Chef Mike’s team are pasta artists. They never disappoint. We enjoyed a glass of Frascati, which was so good it led to another glass. We ended our meal with a decadent budino and fall gelatos, a pumpkin and a “chef’s surprise.” I’m not at liberty to share the secret. However, it’s fall in a scoop. Our lunch concluded with deep, dark, and energizing Americanos. If our lunch wasn’t spectacular enough, we had a visit with Chef Mike, the mastermind, architect, evil genius, behind Aventino, Red Hen, and Fossette’s Foccaceria. All spots I highly recommend. With this good fortune, I’m on my way to play the lottery…
Good dinner but…
We ordered the pizza rossa, misticanza salad, vongole, ravioli, rigatoni, patate and cavolo. All were excellent. The desserts - torta della Nonna, hazelnut torta and caramel apple bodino were just ok. The decor is nice- trendy and eclectic but tasteful. Our server was very good. The major negative is the noise level. We were seated in the lower level area, it was packed and very loud.
This place has potential
The ambiance was nice, and the menu was authentically Italian…but both the service and the food fell short. Our server tried, and had a pleasant attitude, but she made several mistakes (including putting in the wrong order). When another server almost crashed into me with piles of plates as I exited the restroom, he neither smiled nor apologized. The pasta dishes were oversalted. The zucchini flowers were very good. Prices, for both wine and food were a little steep, for what they provided.
Dinner in Bethesda, MD
Came here for a gf’s birthday dinner—packed house for a Saturday night. Has a very energetic vibe—a bit too loud for my preference. Service was great—our server Miguel was friendly, helpful and attentive! Overall food was good. For appetizers, we got the Suppli Al Telefono (risotto fritters), Fiore di Zucca (crispy fried zucchini) and Pulpo (octopus). For pastas, would recommend the Rigatoni and Spaghetti, the Ravioli was okay—portions seemed on the smaller side. The Maiale (pork chop) was well flavored and huge portion. The Patate (oven roasted potatoes) were really good! Birthday girl got a small complimentary “rose”dessert with a candle, was super cute! Dessert wise, we tried the Baba Al Rhum (rum-soaked sweet brioche), it was just okay.

Peter can place a bid on AppointmentTrader, which serves as a reward for any community member who chooses to work on securing the reservation. AT then notifies experienced users who may be able to help.
Step-by-Step Process
1.) Setting a Reward (Bid)
* AppointmentTrader uses historical data to recommend a reasonable reward amount for securing a reservation - let's say $100.
* Peter really wants to go, so he increases the bid (or reward) to $200.
* At this stage, the reservation does not exist yet.
2.) A Community User Picks Up the Bid
* PerceptiveWash44, an experienced AT user, has a strong track record of successfully securing reservations and low refund requests, they receive a notification about Peter's bid.
* PerceptiveWash44 picks up the bid, meaning they will now work on securing the reservation.
* Peter can now talk to PerceptiveWash44 for any questions Peter may have as PerceptiveWash44 user fills the bid.
3.) Finding the Reservation
* PerceptiveWash44 now uses their connections at Aventino Bethesda to secure the table.
* If they successfully get the 6 PM table for four, Peter receives a confirmation that the reservation has been secured.
* If PerceptiveWash44 fails to secure the reservation, the bid is returned to the pool so another user can try.
4.) Payment & Protection
* Once the reservation is secured, PerceptiveWash44 receives the $200 reward which is credited to PerceptiveWash44's AT balance, where users manage their own funds and can withdraw via available payout options such as bank transfer, PayPal, or Zelle.
* Peter can now enjoy the dinner with his friends at Aventino Bethesda!
* As with all transactions on AT, disputes and no-show fees are handled through the platform's community-driven resolution system. Users with a strong track record are incentivized to fulfill bids successfully, and community members can report issues to maintain trust in the marketplace.
