Delicious Italian!
We had an exceptional meal here - the portions were generous and reasonably priced, and service was so quick. The place also has a really fun vibe but the tables are arranged in a way that still affords some privacy and intimacy, so it doesn't feel nearly as big as it is. The truffle malfadine was divine and the chocolate mousse was delicious.

Very poor, cremated bruschetta, calamari and pasta that was so salty I was unable to eat it. Staff were friendly and the house red wine good. Overall very disappointing.
Be the first to ReplyDelicious Italian food in gorgeous restaurant
I nearly missed the entrance, it's not as prominent as Gloria or Jacuzzi, two of the other Big Mama restaurants that I have been to, but once you've found it, it's just as fabulous. In between The Strand and Covent Garden the location was perfect for a pre theatre dinner. I would recommend booking. At 4.45pm we were one of a handful of tables dining, by 6.15pm when we left all 3 floors were pretty full with a dozenn or so hopeful people outside waiting for tables to become available. I love that the decor of every Big Mama restaurant is different but always eye popping. Staff were delightful, couldn't fault the service. We had the veal ragu and crab linguine, both delicious and the tall white wave that is the lemon meringue is an absolute must although I would recommend for sharing. Music volume is at a good level, enough to enhance the atmosphere but not hinder conversation. Really enjoyed the whole experience.
Be the first to ReplyGreat spot !
Lovely ambience, staff were lovely and food was 10/10. Highly recommend getting all the starters and the banoffee pie!
Be the first to Replywill not go again
Beautiful place, however service and food was ok, but not justifiable for their optional ยฃ30 service charge. My Son was treating the family and just because we could not afford this, I saw the waitress start complaining to her co-worker in Italian and stared at my son throughout! I would not recommend purely based on this. when did we become a country of of making people feel guilty of not paying for a mediocre service! we would have tipped the lovely gentleman who brought is the carbonara and dessert but could not find him when we left. Would not go again as I feel they only want people with deep pockets entering :(
Be the first to ReplyWhat a shame
Donโt usually write bad reviews and have had very positive experience with Big Mama restaurants in the past - but will not be returning. We were downstairs at the kitchen counter. Firstly asked for theGorgonzola walnut salad - it was early midday - but said no Gorgonzola ( would we have ricotta instead - reluctantly agreed) - what we got was a bland mush , when we complained that it had no walnuts as well as no Gorgonzola - we were told that they would deduct 15% from the bill . The main course crab linguine was okay but very overcooked , the deserts gelato and banoffee pie - were equally uninspiring- I left the gelato after eating the nut topping as it was so bland and tasteless and my daughter said it was the worse banoffee pie that she had ever had . When I asked for the bill , I was asked to scan the barcode ( they then wanted an extra ยฃ3 for the privilege of using their payment app !! The only decent thing was the glasses of champagne ยฃ160 for awful food and a waiter who couldnโt care less . Completely spoilt my Motherโs Day - what a shame they are obviously a victim of their success -!

First time visiting and won't be returning. Pros - great food. Everything I had was delicious. Fun, vibrant surroundings and atmosphere. Nice cocktails and wine. Cons - booths for 2 people are quite cramped. Nowhere to put coats or bags. Service was poor. Seated at 7pm and wasn't asked about water or drinks until 7.25pm. My friend had spaghetti and asked for a spoon - 10min wait for this. Was told we had gone over our allocated time at the table even though it took 30mins to order. Took 3 attempts to get the bill right.

What a cool little pace. Great service, great atmosphere and gear food! Perfect for lunch/dinner with friends and for couples.

Amazing ambience and atmosphere. Lovely place to go out for dinner and great hospitality. The food is so nice too. I recommend
Be the first to ReplyAVOID! Cold Food and Tacky Restaurant.
We visited at the weekend after a show in the area. We were very excited to visit after hearing lots of good things! However the food was served cold and tasteless and the portions were tiny! We left hungry and very disappointed after looking forward to this night for so long. Don't waste your money and go elsewhere, I only wish that we had.
Be the first to ReplyAmazing Staff
Nice food and drinks. The staff did everything to provide us an incredible experience! The only thing we don't recommend is the Focaccia for starter. The portion is small and it seems more a Toast than a Focaccia, however, everything else was really amazing.
Be the first to ReplyGreat atmosphere!
We went here before seeing a west end show. Atmosphere was fantastic and food was superb! Would highly recommend and great location.
Be the first to ReplyNice surroundings, disappointing food.
Impressive restaurant with quirky decor and a buzzy atmosphere. Food unfortunately extremely average. Had ravioli which was bland, filling was quite watery and with very little flavour. Definitely style over substance.
Be the first to ReplyMore than a restaurant
This place is heaven for all the senses: the food, the smells, the decor and design, the colours, everything truly italian. Prices are very reasonable for London and reservation is highly reccommended.
Be the first to ReplyDisappointing
Vibrant restaurant with amazing decor. However food was served cold which made it very unappetising. Cold cannelloni isnโt great. I canโt seem to reach the restaurant privately so am having to do a public review. I didnโt send my meal back as it was a special occasion and didnโt want to spoil it. Also warned more than once that we only have table for certain amount of time. Shame.

I went with my wife on 12th of March for lunch and we had a great experience again. Beautiful restaurant, with great atmosphere, excellent service and delicious food. I really recommend it to all my friends and family. See you all soon, thank you!
Be the first to ReplyI would definitely not go back
Staff were not friendly food was at best warm Over priced for the quality of the food Definitely give it a miss there are far better restaurants in this area to choose from just living on the location
Be the first to ReplyA piece of Italy in London
I am an Italian real sceptic person... Never eat such a good pizza outside Naples. 100% recommended !
Be the first to ReplyFun place......
Hadn't realised how large this restaurant is, covers 4 areas, all slightly different vibe. We were first shown to table in lowest floor, seemed to have the loudest fun vibe but as table was in the middle, we opted to move upstairs to a table with banquet. Ordered drinks first and 2 small starters. They took so long to arrive, at least 20 minutes, that when our little cheesy pizzetta finally arrived, just a few odd bits of dough with tiny bit of cheese on a plate (looked like remnants left overs that someone had picked off the floor)... we complained, starters were taken off the bill. Main course, vegan pizza (big, mainly just dough not sure what or where the topping was), Spaghetti carbonara for 2.... good but hardly any Guanciale/pancetta to be found. 2 desserts both good especially the vegan cheesecake which my son declared was the best he'd every eaten. Desserts plus limoncellos which were brought to the table were also offered complimentary.... they certainly try to make up for errors which I appreciated hence my 4 stars. A couple points having read other reviews - just ask: - I also don't like to try and see large menu on my phone.... you can always ask for a printed menu and they will bring one - I wanted to pay by Amex, this can only be done by paying through the app which clearly showed the extra ยฃ2.50 fee for the privilege of doing so. Quite extraordinary, never seen before... hope it doesn't catch on! Hence I chose to pay by Mastercard and asked them to bring the card machine Clearly this place was fabulous when first opened and now has become so popular they have lost their way. Not much needed to improve especially if they employ more staff like the manager who helped to ensure we left not completely disappointed..... and we would consider returning!
Be the first to ReplyWonderful family meal
We visited as a family with 2 young children on a Monday afternoon and had a great experience. Servers were attentive and especially friendly to our toddler which made us feel more relaxed as it can be stressful taking kids out for meals. The food was fantastic, we had vegetarian options of cannelloni and truffle pizza which were delicious. They did half portions of tomato and buttered pasta for the kids which was also delicious. We then finished with tiramisu and banoffee pie, delicious again! We had mock tails that came in a novelty mug which made for great photos! Of course I also have to mention the decor which is stunning! We sat on the top floor - on the way to the toilets you see all three floors and travel through Capri down to a sexy seventies vibe basement and end up at some pretty funky toilets! I can imagine this place is absolutely booming on a Saturday night! It was pricey, but well worth it for the quality of food and overall experience. We will definitely be returning on our next visit to London!

Food is absolutely authentic and amazing service! Price is very reasonable and the restaurant inside looks amazing!!
Be the first to ReplyGREAT FOOD, LOOK & SERVICE
Fantastic food, attentive service & fabulous decor. This is definitely one of those go-to London essentials. Hopefully it won't fill up too much with the wannabe generation.
Be the first to ReplyWorth the visit for the decor alone
This restaurant is beautifully decorated to the degree that it is practically a work of art. Itโs a selfie heaven for many with so many photo opportunities that you almost want to skip eating and just wander around snapping pics. The toilets in particular are strangely photographic so donโt miss those on your visit. The food was great but for me sort of pales in to significance compared to the look of the venue.
Be the first to ReplyFriendly staff moving around an extravagant kitsch decor
Like many, we rushed into a musical without time for dinner, only to find out that most restaurants around the theaters in West End close at 10.00 pm when most shows end: total mystery why, but true. We found a couple of them still open for customers with reservations that we did not have; one turned us away, Ave Mario said sorry NO way, but eventually Davide let us in at 10.30 pm. The first impression was โ what is this? A disco, a pop art gallery, a barโฆis it also a restaurant ?โ. We were ushered to a quiet table in the back, with music all around, among a fun familiar art deco ensembleโฆ and then it hit me: it was reproducing the iconic style of the Fiorucci shop in Milan in my teenage years! Most staff members are friendly young Italians, but was told that the owners are French. Being late, we skipped reading the Q code menu and ordered a pizza and a fish entry suggested by the waitress โ baked branzino โ. The pizza looked italian style , but the fish was boneless and served like a tart, with tomato sauce on the side. Definitely not an Italian dish, but actually tasty. The food is good quality, not a five stars Michelin, but way better than served in most Italian restaurants around Covent Garden. The staff alone makes it worth to return, the ambiance is probably over the top, but fun. Pleasant experience
Be the first to ReplyAmazing interiors, great service, delicious food
Wouldn't normally get a margaritta pizza but had a few dishes and this was by far the best pizza I've had. Great service. Amazing food and even better interiors.
