A must visit in Lima! Visited the restaurant in April after a long heady around Peru. Amazing atmosphere in their classy building, top ceviche and tortellini with lucuma. Very friendly staff too

Be the first to ReplyFood, Atmosphere, experience. A great place all around!
We were in the area on a group tour and wanted to find a nice dinner that was up to our standards (as apposed to the group experience of acceptable food not exceptionial food) and this restaurant did not disappoint! Tried to reserve same day and of course there were no tables but I did ask to be on the waiting list should there be cancellations. When they did have a cancellation that was too late for us I let them know and they accommodated us by keeping 4 bar seats open. The bartender Juan assessed the situation right away. We told him we would like the tasting menu and though it appeared they don't provide that at the bar he said he would put together a tasting menu for us and then proceeded to do so and it was fantastic. He fashioned a curated dinner for the 4 of us, including one gluten free guest, that was fantastic! Each course was better than the last! The atmosphere at the bar was perfect, not a busy buzzing bar but still vibrant and yet we had an intimate dining experience at our corner. The bar area is gorgeous and it took us a while but we eventually realized it was open air which made is seem even more exotic! At the end of the meal someone came to check on how we enjoyed the meal and we let her know it was great. She moved on and Juan told us that we had just met Astrid. Well, we had to have a pic with her and she accommodated us with more than just a smile, she was friendly and it just topped the evening off perfectly. This restaurant was one of the highlights of our trip!
Be the first to ReplyA spectacular setting for a spectacular meal.
The best dish I have eaten all year was the creamy quinoa with beef bourguignon. A romantic and absolutely gorgeous main dining room set under a spectacularly decorated tree. We ordered several appetizers and none disappointed. An inventive and high quality menu gives credence to the praises being heaped on Peruvian cuisine.

Delicious Food, but made to feel unwelcome by Astrid, who made the rounds at tables, but seemingly avoided any table not populated by Peruvians. We’ve been here before, but it may be our last time.
Be the first to ReplyGood but but not great
It was good but not great. In a city of the BESTS this restaurant falls behind. It’s expensive food for tourists not for true foodies. Service was attentive but not always correct. Portions are too large for a tasting menu.

Good….but very overpriced I had the tasting menu and wine pairing. It was good. Enjoyed especially the wine pairing. However the price vs value is not in balance. It’s not worth the price and overrated due to the buzz
Be the first to ReplyTasting menu not worth the price, but notable desserts
tldr: the tasting menu is not worth it, but the desserts are quite adequate I had very high hopes for fine dining in Lima and A&G is high on my list, but I was very disappointed. My biggest problem is that the seafood quality is NOT good...especially not good enough for a tasting menu at this price (I paid 1000 sol including tips and a tea). 2nd dish - Seafood Nikkei Bloody Mary: the scallop and ikura in the second dish should've tasted gently sweet if fresh and good quality, but instead they are mildly fishy. 6th dish - Chawanmushi: the uni is a bit bitter and mildly fish. You can also see there's dark spots on the uni which means it's not the freshest. The chawanmushi itself is also a little grainy in texture (it's soft yet grainy), probably too much water or steamed improperly. Another BIG problem is the duck confit. If you call it a duck confit, it should've been cooked till tender. It certainly wasn't that, so at best I'd say it's kind of like seared duck breast. However, it was so chewy that it was impossible to swallow. Some other little things - the corn three way was a little too oily, sauce at the bottom of the hare cannelloni is too salty, the sweet bread could've had something that cuts the grease/richness a little more. Some good things - the cuy was not bad at all, quite rich with good flavors and texture; maybe something slightly more acidic in addition to the sweet peppers would've cut through the richness a little more. Oka style scallop had a good scallop and the parmesan foam is quite flavorful; although I personally would've appreciated something to make it JUST a little lighter, maybe acid or some crunch. Really loved the Lucuma ravioli, which also had good scallop with it, and the cappucino foam complemented the lucuma super well. The desserts are quite nice/notable. The Andean herb sherbet had a nice flavor and the pisco spray and pisco sour reduction were good flavor complements. Wish the green apple at the bottom was fresh and crunchy. The avocado ice cream with corn foam were amazing, in balance of texture and flavor. The raspberry granite could've had better texture - it's turning into ice chips, not a smoothie/sandy texture, probably because it wasn't stored properly due to the heat. The Loche souffle was also amazing - very great flavor AND texture, and the hot souffle goes with the algarrobina ice cream very well. Also, love the chocolate selection in the end. Overall, I really don't recommend the tasting menu - I was very disappointed. But there are some good dishes here nonetheless, so maybe try order a la carte.
Be the first to ReplyAmazing Food and Service
Two of us. We each got the tasting menu, and my wife got the wine pairing. it was a three-hour experience that is hard to put into words. Plate after plate after plate. A total of 15. Seafood, tubers, pork, sweets, etc. it was great.
Be the first to ReplyWorth a try special in the night time when all the light are on parking to be paid in front at 50 soles my driver tell
Very nice period property good set up but the food to my opinion acording the prices they want we think is to much and also the weine at 69 soles a glass chile weine is ridiculous high. Yes on time visit enough. The staff is friendly

Very good dining experience. A beautiful courtyard setting and open air ambiance. The menu was creative. Everyone enjoyed their selections. Their desserts really did show off their creativity and skills. Highly recommend !

Had dinner at Astrid & Gaston restaurant in Miraflores Lima and it was a great culinary experience. Starting with the beautiful setting at refurbished colonial mansion painted in white. Interior is also pretty, with tropical indoor plants hanging from the ceiling. Started with a Peruvian Ceviche Mixto White fish & shrimp, made to perfection in a sophisticate manner. The selección of bread made by Mrs Astrid was exquisite. Main course was Sea Bass baked, with a tasty sauce (capers?). Selección of wine was good. However, went for a Pisco sour. In summary it was great dinner. Very surprised that Astrid & Gaston, once #36 best of 50 restaurants in World is not longer in that select group
Be the first to ReplyVery good choice for dinner
On my first visit to Astrid y Gastón I was disappointed, perhaps because my expectations were very high. I must admit that my second visit was very different and superior to the first. The attention was excellent, and all the chosen dishes were delicious.
Be the first to ReplyDisappointing…
We had considered the negative TA reviews for Astrid y Gaston but based on the apparent popularity of the restaurant and its reputation, decided to still give it a go for the 15 course tasking menu (S490pp). In short, we kinda wished we hadn’t… The restaurant is beautiful and bigger than we would have expected; service was good (not brilliant) and our 15 courses were delivered regularly. There were a couple of courses that were amazing, but for the most part we were not impressed and in a number of cases we didn’t finish the portions (which were small). For a restaurant with such renown in a city that is supposed to be food obsessed our expectations were, of course, very high. And they just were not met even on some of the smaller details. It was not a horrible night out; but when you are paying a lot you need your socks blown off… and alas they weren’t. There are, of course, plenty of other options in the city!
Be the first to ReplyDon't do it
I ranked this a 1 star not because the food was offensive but because it is listed as a top 5 in Latin America restaurant and did not come close to expectations. The space is very nice. This restaurant may have been a leader in Lima fine dining in the past, however, it has turned into a poor experience at this time. The food was clearly pre-plated. There was nothing subtle or caring about the preparations. The mains were all swimming in sauce or meats that allowed large preparation cooking and the avoidance of ala minute preparation. The service was perfunctory at best. For example, our water and wine glasses sat empty many times and every pour had to be requested. This is now this is fine dining for the masses and a poor value. It si certainly not worth waiting a precious meal on if you are traveling through Lima - We had outstanding meals elsewhere that made Astrid y Gaston pale by comparison.
Be the first to ReplySkip the tasting menu and tailor your own experience
I made a tradition to make a stop at these restaurant every time that I’m in Lima. The place is timeless and their food very consistent I’ve tried their tasting menus and I always leave disappointed with some of the dishes so my recommendation is to chose A la Carte and tailor your own experience. The main dining room is more formal. I prefer to seat at the courtyard for a more lively atmosphere and relaxed vibe. The waiters are very knowledgeable so don’t be afraid to ask about any of the dishes.
Be the first to ReplyNo noodles , urchins or lobster ?
No sea urchins No Lobster Then we choose udon noodles with duck they say we will give you spagetti with duck ragu instead no udon noodles . We arrived at 19:45 so it seems it is not finished but not stocked . I was not sure if i came to a rated restaurant or a local inn .
Be the first to ReplyEnjoyed our dinner at this classic gem
We visited Astrid and Gaston the first week in July. The restaurant is amazing when you pull up. Crystal chandelier when you come in. We sat near the kitchen and were able to see all the action. The ceiling was beautiful. We ordered wine. Someone came over and explained all the wine. Wine in Peru seems much more expensive then cocktails. We ordered an appetizer to share and two entrees and a dessert. All were exceptional. The service was good. I would recommend eating at this classic restaurant. I wish we could eat here again and dine in the courtyard.
Be the first to ReplyDisappointed
The mansion of this restaurant is surprisingly beautiful and very well preserved.
I expected a unique gourmet experience, and perhaps for this reason I felt somewhat disappointed. The pickled pejerey dish had a very intense fishy flavor, almost as if it weren't fresh. The hedgehog ceviche was much better. The duck carpaccio was excellent.
As a main we shared a plate of Grouper with beans and roasted peanuts with a very good presentation, but the flavor was not surprising at all. The cocktails were excellent, an Orange Spritz and a Very Berry Punch.
We chose a Forrester brand New Zealand Sauvignon blank wine, and for dessert we shared a delicious and fresh dish based on cherimoya. The service was attentive, but not overly careful as one would expect from a restaurant of this level.
Great food with a nice vibe
The food was super delicious and service was attentive with good English speaking servers. Beautiful setting in an open courtyard. A nice selection of cocktails to start the meal and a comprehensive dinner menu. A very good representation of Peruvian cuisine and has a nice vibe. Popular with locals as well as tourists.
Be the first to ReplyAmazing night!
Amazing night where we had the tasting menu and wine paring.
The food was great, very tasteful, and we also loved how it was presented!
We even had an extra little something for our anniversary :)
Also, the atmosphere was very pleasant, and the waiters were extremely professional.
We will definitely go again!
Excellent food and great service
Visited the restaurant during a business trip. The outside area used since Covid was really nice and as usual the food was excellent. Astrid came to check we were enjoying our meal - a nice touch. Will definitely visit again on my next trip to Lima.

Gaston Acurio's Flag Vessel this restaurant is up to its reputation.
Located within"Casa Moreyra" a well restaurated patrician house with a huge patio, it offers a very nice environment.
The cuisine is very good, and so is the the service.
It is not cheap but it is worth every sol you spend.
