I've been a fan of Arturo's since living in the neighborhood 20 years ago. Recently, took my family of out of towners as a small group of 8. Menu was fixed, with exceptionally great food and wonderful service! So affordable too. No way we could've eaten anywhere else with that value!!

My friend and I like to drop in here whenever we're at Angelika down the street. We usually split a pie and a salad, but the last few times we've each ordered an entree. Everything we've tried on the menu has been excellent.

We were walking by Arturo's and it smelled so delicious we put our name on the list and there was a 40 minute wait. We walked around the neighborhood for a bit and when we came back our table was ready. The live music band was fantastic and added to the wonderful ambiance of the restaurant. When we ordered we were deciding between two pizzas and the waiter suggested we get half and half so we had half margarita and half mozzarella. We also ordered the arruga and Parmesan salad. Everything was delicious! A very fun, lively evening with delicious food.

Be the first to Replymy favorite restaurant in the world .
I lived right around the corner and this place became my "cheers". I was there the night before my son was born and it was his first restaurant experience as a baby. You can't go wrong with any dish, everything is delicious!!! I only wish that is was less than 1600 miles away (for me now) or I would be there every night. The pizza is out of this world, arugula salad, chicken parm- you really need a solid month to taste the depth of their menu. Tell Tony we said hi!

Food is amazing and the bartenders are great!
Be the first to ReplyI had the green pepper and onion pizza for takeout.
I enjoyed the crispy crust, peppery flavor of the tomato sauce, and the hearty layer of cheese on top. The small pizza is enormous, which justifies the cost of $26. The pizza was prepared pretty quickly as well, maybe in about 20 minutes. This is a great choice, especially if you have a couple of people to split the pizza with.

What is better than a family-run business dating back to 1957 with the same great recipes and ambiance of the founders, the fabulous Arturo and Betty Giunta? I have been a loyal customer since September, 1969 when I was a college freshman. Discovering that a college buddy and still dear friend was a cousin made it like going to a family dinner every time we went. The piano bar has always made the atmosphere fun. Don't forget to sign the blackboard when you use the restroom, either. I highly recommend any pizza and salad. Portions are generous. Lisa and Scott, who manage the place now, continue to make everyone feel welcome.

And chicken Francese super tender and lemony . Great staff love the bathtub in the bath room And live jazz . This is what makes New York special Sarah from brookl

My favorite dinner spot in NYC! I've lived in the neighborhood for a few years and this is my go to Italian. The food is delicious and reasonably priced! This place does not take reservations but I've never had to wait more than 20 minutes for a table for 4.
Be the first to ReplyPenne vodka is good but not great.
Chicken cacciatore was served bone-in in a yellow soup and not tomato sauce? Absolutely gross dish. Not sure why it was served this way.The pizza is classic and good. Overall not a place for a great meal but a decent one. Maybe we ordered the wrong things.

Be the first to ReplyPizza is extremely dear to my heart.
Growing up and living in NYC, it's always been a point of pride knowing that great pizza is usually just around the corner. It wasn't until recently that I realized that I had never visited Arturo's and it just felt wrong. I had heard from friends that Arturo's is a staple of the NY pizza scene and it was imperative that I make my way over one night. The time finally came and I found myself there with three friends on a cold wintery Friday evening. What I loved most about my experience is that it truly felt a bit like old Greenwich Village, the live music is a fantastic touch and the restaurant feels "lived in". I give the restaurant ample stars for ambiance. As for the food, you kind of know what you're getting off the bat. The pizza was good, but not as live altering like some of the more sought after spots in the city. I would skip any of the salads, as they really didn't bring anything unique taste-wise to the table. The chicken parm was decent and right on par with what I've tasted growing up in Bensonhurst Brooklyn. One of the brighter spots to the meal were the baked clams.

TERRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE!!!!!This review is strictly for their customer service as I was not able to try any of their food.My friend recommended that we go to Arturo's since we were in the area. She said their food was delicious so we were looking forward to trying it (it was four of us). The restaurant is very small and was very crowded on a Friday evening. They have two outside seating areas - one on the curb that was completely enclosed and a few tables that were uncovered and on the sidewalk. We walked in to inquire about getting a table in their enclosed area when we were abruptly told by the lady at the door to go outside and wait. When I saw they had a back area to their restaurant I was told abruptly again to go outside so we went outside. While we were waiting outside several groups of people walked up. The lady that told us to wait outside finally came out - went to the other groups and sat them in the enclosed area. When I asked approached her to remind her that she told us to wait to get a table and we wanted one in the enclosed area she told us that if we wanted to sit here's a table (pointing to the uncovered table on the sidewalk). I told her that we came outside like she asked and she walked past us to seat the other people and now we have to sit at a table on the sidewalk with NO heating and people just walking by (it was a cold evening). She looked at me and said loudly if we wanted to sit either we sit there or we don't. I asked her for her name and she walked back into the restaurant. I then asked her for the manager and she said she was the manager. I told her I wanted to speak to someone else and another man appeared and said he was the manager. He told me the lady was absolutely right for treating us that way and that's that. When I told him that she walked right past us to seat the other people he shrugged his shoulders and said oh well.We ended up going a couple doors down to a restaurant with GREAT customer service (see next review).I would NEVER go to this restaurant again.

Loved this place! My friend and I came here on a Friday as a walk-in and were pleasantly surprised. The vibes were immaculate. The live music made it feel super cozy. Prices can't be beat, will definitely be coming back.
Be the first to ReplyOrdered mozzarella pizza, Mac and cheese balls and cheese
Ordered mozzarella pizza, Mac and cheese balls and cheese ravioli with marinara sauce through Uber eats. Base of Mozzarella pizza was black and burnt. I personally found it to be inedible (took a bite and the burnt taste was overpowering) and potentially carcinogenic. Judging from the rating of this place, hopefully this is a one-off and we were just plain unlucky. I have written to Uber eats to raise this issue as well as called the resto (they said they were unable to do anything to remedy the situation since I ordered through a third party). Mac and cheese balls cost $12.75 (on the app) for two and while tasty , I don't think this is value for money. Cheese ravioli was fine.
