Arthur and Sons was worth ALL THE HYPE! Tik Tok really got it right this time. The fried mozzarella, Caesar salad, spicy rigatoni, and truffle pasta was to die for. REALLY AMAAZING experience, food, and service! I have to go again for everything and dessert. I loved it here.

Food isn't phenomenal. Fun to go for the name. The place honestly doesn't even have a great vibe inside. And doesn't have a great smell either. I've had much better Italian food. Why? The sauce has to much oregano, that's not "Italian". The mozzarella is not good quality, the popular mozzarella alla Arturo is supposed to be a delicious mozzarella en corozza, mozzarella cheese in between two soft delicious peices of bread fried to perfection, this is a big triangle mozzarella stick that looks fancy, I can get anywhere and is not delicious I almost choked on the big chunck of cheese. The chicken in the parm was good but the "parm" was the same oregano sauce. The vodka rigatoni is ok. But you can get something more delicious somewhere else for the hype. I had the cavatelli and broccoli rabe with sausage, the sausage was good. I just finished and I got agida ( that's Italian for heartburn). The servers were VERY nice. They made the dinner experience good! But I still have heartburn.

I was so excited to finally snag a reservation here for dinner! My friend and I started with the Amalfi Spritzes which were delicious and refreshing. The starter bread with oil and garlic confit is absolutely delicious. For our appetizers we ordered the Caesar salad and the meatballs. Both were delicious, but the Caesar salad was honestly one of the best things I ate all night! We split the shrimp alla fantasia and the spicy vodka rigatoni for our mains. I was expecting to like the spicy vodka rigatoni the most as there has been so much hype around it on social media, but I honestly found that it was lacking sauce and could have used a lot more. The shrimp alla fantasia, on the other hand, was incredible. The service was great, and the food came out very quickly. I'll definitely be back if I am able to get another res!

Found this place after searching for good Italian food in New York. First off, it's in a super cute area and is lgbtq+ friendly so that was a great start. We stared with a Cesar salad and omg it was yummy! I'm usually not big on appetizers but it was delicious and I definitely ate a good amount. Nothing could have prepared me for the meal I was about to have.... Life changing. I ordered the macaroni Alla Tartufo and everything about it was perfect, flavor 10/10. Ended the night with some wine and overall had a great time!

First time here and the vibes were so good! Server was attentive with checking in periodically. The spicy vodka rigatoni is a must try if you visit - not spicy but a perfect creamy + savory/flavorful blend. The chicken parmigiana was just okay, nothing too special & chicken was not so tender. Overall 5/5 for the cute atmosphere, authentic vibes, attentive server, & vodka rigatoni!

Old school red sauce upscale place but wish they took there spectacular Simple's Sole in a lemon based sauce off the menu and in place added a shrimp on spinach francase which was very oily and not for us however the artichoke (while in butter and lemon) is gr8 and good ol chicken parm I'd plenty and delicious

Service is excellent, the whole staff working is very attentive to all the clients and takes an interest in everyone. Drinks and food come out fairly quick, very fresh and refreshing. Crowd is very mixed with locals, regulars, tourists, people working nearby, etc...
Be the first to ReplyPasta was cooked perfectly al dente.
Delicious flavors, loved the extra touch the mushrooms added. The dishes felt really buttery and rich, sometimes a bit much. Portion sizes are large, designed to share. Our server was a delight, great at helping us with recommendations and very personable. Would recommend stopping by if in the area, but wouldn't go out of my way to eat here.
Be the first to ReplyI'm full.
That never happens. The spicy rigatoni, the calamari mulberry, and the fried calamari mulberry changed my religion. My mom wont speak to me because I said that Arthur's makes a better chicken francese. Also, they pour Johnnie Black like it's water. Don't feel bad that my mom now hates me. They have enough Espresso Martinis to make me forget the family issues. Sidenote: Spumoni My Way should be renamed Spumoni My Waist because that stuff is going to change my pants size. WORTH IT!

STELLAR MEAL! I finally made it to Arthur & Sons with a few friends after passing it daily on my walk to work. We had a fantastic time! We were seated a great corner table and immediately greeted by our waiter to order up some delicious cocktails. I loved the Lemoncello Martini and my friend really enjoyed her Espresso Martini. And she has tried many! For food, the Eggplant Stack was a favorite; we loved the addition of prosciutto and red peppers. We also ordered the Cavatelli with Broccoli Rabe & Sausage and the Spicy Rigatoni alla Vodka and both were excellent. And the portions were huge! We came out of there happy and full. I will be recommending this to family and friends. A great addition to my dinner rotation.
Be the first to ReplyWe did not have a good experience at all.
First of all they sat us near a door that was labeled emergency exit door, however people kept walking in and out of and it was a chilly night. My husband had been here before and Ioved it so we were super disappointed that the food was not what he had described. The calamari was good, but the other appetizers we ordered were not great. Meatballs, wings and cheesy garlic bread. We ordered a pasta course after appetizers and the fusilli alla limone pasta was delicious but the spicy rigatoni was just ok. For dinner we ordered veal piccata and the chicken vesuvio. The veal was tough and the chicken didn't have much flavor and also a weird taste to it . We only had a few bites of the chicken and when we mentioned to the server that we didn't like it and that it had an odd taste he said maybe it's the cheese. I've had mozzarella and provolone many times and it never had a weird taste. I was surprised that they kept the chicken on our bill and/or didn't offer to bring us something else. Limoncello cheesecake and chocolate gelato dessert was just ok as well. Overall the service, food and experience were very disappointing.
Be the first to ReplyVery expensive but great service and pasta.
The Macaroni Alla Tartufo was fantastic. It's on the quieter and prettier side of West 4th Street.
Be the first to ReplyCame here for an early dinner (bc of our baby).
Everything was excellent! The staff was very accommodating and friendly. Everyone was knowledgable about the menu. The food was fantastic! Also love the location - we walked around meatpacking then came. Would highly recommend and we will be coming back :)

Great food! Even more impressive were the staff who were absolutely amazing. Can't wait to go back!
Be the first to ReplyFood is excellent!!! Had the Caesar Salad.
.. a meal in itself... homemade dressing was delicious! Gnocchi was to die for and homemade cannoli rounded out the superb dinner! Excellent customer service and relaxing environment! When in NY it's a must! Call for reservations because the place is hopping!

Food was great best gnocchi I ever had better then my homemade ones. Large portions. Great service and prices are reasonable for the amount of food you get. I'm from California and when I come back to New York I'm differently going there again.
Be the first to ReplyHad a great experience.
The staff was very friendly and recommended several items that really were Delicious .

Amazing old school ambiance! We got here a few minutes early for our reservation and were able to quickly get drinks at the bar which were fab! Highly recommend the dirty martini with blue cheese stuffed olives. For appetizers we got the caesar salad and the eggplant stack. Both amazing but the eggplant stack really stood out. Loved the balsamic poured on top. For entrees we had to get the spicy rigatoni, then got the tartufo macaroni because we love truffle. Both so flavorful and delicious. The service was great too. The entrees came after an appropriate amount of time after finishing the appetizers. Portions were pretty big, but I'm more than okay with leftovers. This place is pretty popular so I thought they may try to rush us-- complete opposite! Would 100% come back!!!!
Be the first to ReplyThe food was great.
Classic Italian red sauce recipes. The meatballs and Chicken Parm were perfect. The cannolis for dessert were also delicious. The service was really good as well. One complaint, it was really loud. Some noise absorption measures would really help.
Be the first to ReplyService = 4.
5/ 5 Friendly and helpful, nothing to complain. Food = 3/5 Waited forever to try this place ... and the verdict is ... Instagram makes it look much more delicious and fun than it actually is . Ordered an appetizer, one pasta and one main for 2, turned out they are all the same sauce (base) with the same melted cheese and same cheese topping (server did not caution that either). We scanned other neighboring tables and most dishes looked the same as well. Unless you REALLY like red sauce and melted mozzarella with parmesan toppings, taste diversity and profile aren't their best offers here. However- Dessert cappuccino and ice cream were both winners!!! Yum.Environment = 2/5What broke the whole experience was the music... unnecessarily loud and high pitched. In the medium-sized dining room we are in (by the entrance), there were 4 speakers pointed at each other affixed close to the ceiling, blasting old jazz that were loud and super high pitched a.k.a not pleasing to the ears, definitely not suitable when you are eating and trying to talk. I have been to other restaurants with louder music to hype an energetic vibe but the set up here aren't suitable, it's confusing and unnecessary (let your food speak for you). I think this is by far the worst part of the evening at Arthur and Son.
Be the first to ReplyOnce you enter the restaurant, you're greeted with warm
Once you enter the restaurant, you're greeted with warm music and the enticing smell of tomato sauce from the kitchen. Right then, I knew I was going to be in for a treat. After we sat down, we ordered cocktails and carefully looked over the menu. I say carefully because we wanted to order everything. We got the artichokes piccata. At first, I was disappointed that it wasn't the big boys but the tender flesh and flavor of the small artichokes didn't leave me wanting for anything! Baked clams were tasty and on a bed of puréed garlic and oil. We shared the chicken parm and cavatelli with sausage and broccoli rabe. The chicken was thickly sliced but well seasoned and filling! Definitely took some home. Highly highly recommend the espresso martini. It's the best I ever had!
Be the first to ReplyThis place seemed highly rated based on social media posts
This place seemed highly rated based on social media posts I've seen and the difficulty there is getting a reservation but I was rather underwhelmed. Service was okay. We started with the fried mozzarella. We didn't really like it. I'd be just as fair with the mozzarella sticks you get at a dinner. Thought it could've been warmer. Wasn't crazy about the breading. We shared the spicy rigatoni alla vodka with 2 meatballs (addt'l $12.95) and chicken parmigiana. The meatballs were my favorite. The pasta and chicken parm were good too. In the end when the bill is almost $120 without tip, we didn't think it was worth it. It's a bit overpriced. Best part might have been the free rainbow cookies at the end.
Be the first to ReplyIndulgent heavy Italian with a young vibe.
Tik tok culture unfortunately meant that the waiter was trying to rush us out the entire time, asking if we were ready to order mains less than 5 minutes after being sat. The food itself was very good but definitely heavy and greasy and the "grilled chicken" I added onto my pasta had probably 3 times my daily sodium intake. The branding / atmosphere is a bit confused between old school civilized restaurant and young loud tiny tables yelling vibes
Be the first to ReplyCame here for a birthday and heard a lot of good things
Came here for a birthday and heard a lot of good things about this restaurant. My overall experience was not that great. Service- the service at this restaurant was very slow and not attentive at all. First our waiter did not serve us bread but we saw other tables were being served bread. Every time we needed something, we had to either look for our waiter or ask someone that was passing by us.Food- the food was good but in my opinion not great. I've had better Italian food but one good thing is the portions of the food were a generous amount.Overall I would not go back.
Be the first to ReplyI'm giving this restaurant 3 stars instead of 4 because
I'm giving this restaurant 3 stars instead of 4 because they are impossible to get in touch with. How does a restaurant establishment have no phone number? It's already tough to get a reservation online, so for them not allow an opportunity to communicate with someone over the phone was annoying. Other than that, the food was good. I really enjoyed the mozzarella sticks and spicy rigatoni with shrimp. The meatballs however could've been more flavorful and next time I'll order the pasta without the shrimp. I found the shrimp to be a bit overcooked but overall it was still a good dish. The prices were kind of high but it's New York City. I'll definitely return for dinner because the service was pleasant.
