Arlo Kitchen & Bar Northport Reviews from The Last Year
I went to Arlo for a birthday celebration.
We requested an out of the ordinary dinner arrangement - we asked that all 10 of us sit outside on the couches and just get drinks and apps for 2 hours. It took some arranging but you guys did it and made for a fantastic memorable evening - thank you very much. The drinks and food was amazon as well - highly recommend Arlow
Great friendly service.
Beautiful place. Was expecting great tasting appetizers and entrees. Unfortunately the food was okay. For the price you pay we all were hoping to leave the place with a great tasting food experience and wanting to visit again. But we will not return since the food was just okay

Ambience is great.
...sat there for 10 min no waiter...guy in suit came by asked any thing we can do...i said yea get me a waiter....the bread....stale, one side couldnt enjoy it horrible....now the price....super overpriced...ordered the new york strip supposedly 14 ounce no way....small steak....will say the kitchen sink potatoes were the best...had the calamari...not crisp...soggy gross....the drinks were ok....surprised to see the place was packed on a Wednesday night, kudos to them....they will never see another dime of my money....not impressed in the slightest...the tomahawk steak some were ordering hanging looked cool, wonder what they charge for that....milage will vary .....I hated this pretentious place and I can only imagine who is behind this restaurant, just saying

Best overall dining experience on Long Island! I loved
Best overall dining experience on Long Island! I loved everything about Arlo! The restaurant was so beautiful, comfortable, modern and elegant. Service was highly professional and attentive. Everything came out perfect and was timed exquisitely! The room was filled with a glowing ambience of live piano music, candlelight, white tablecloths, and a large olive tree in the center. To-go bags were checked at reception and available to pick up on your way out. The menu was enticing with creative choices. Even simple dishes, like burrata and Caesar salad were innovative standouts. We also feasted on oysters, tuna tartare, porterhouse for two, mushrooms, broccolini, and asparagus as well -- all delicious! Although I rarely order dessert, we had the pleasure of ordering the baked Alaska, and it was absolutely phenomenal! I would say this is a must have! Definitely go to Arlo for your next special evening!

Got an email from Arlo on a Sunday morning it read live music outdoor dining come for brunch. I round up 12 friends we walk in and there is no live music and no outdoor dining because of a private event Poor management We left went to Symi in Northport and had a blast I highly recommend Symi
Food is ok.
Seems like you're mostly paying for the vibe as I did feel like I was immersed in a high end manhattan like restaurant. However when we went, service was pretty slow and can't say I was blown away by the food. Doubt we will go again.

Great food!
Arlo is a fancy steakhouse in Northport. There is valet and the outside is very fancy looking. The restaurant is very loud which wasn’t the best, but the food made up for it. I had the burger which was very good. There is also an outdoor terrace and balcony which is great. Overall, this is a great restaurant and I highly recommend.

Update : We went back and had the salmon, steak and sea bass. All absolutely delicious. We also gave the baked Alaskan another go. We realized it should be consumed from the inside out. It should've been cut in the middle to do that the first time. Looking forward to our next visit.
We needed a place for a celebration after a confirmation
We needed a place for a celebration after a confirmation for about 15 adults and 5 kids. Honestly, this wan not our first choice. The Northport hotel was just because of sheer proximity to the church. However they were not very accommodating and frankly a room rental charge of $2500 on a Monday at 3pm seemed outlandish so that was that. We went with Arlo and it's as though there was divine intervention because we couldn't be happier. First off they were incredible accommodating with the menu choices and the food was ridiculously good ! The halibut and pork chop were phenomenal but the filet mignon took the cake ! All our guests agreed it was better than anything from the 25A steak houses. Top that off with an awesome server, Joe and the manager Matthew who saw to everything we needed and we will definitely be coming back here as well as checking out the James in Babylon Village when it opens. They made for a very memorable event for my family and I highly recommend them for private parties.

Arlo exudes a captivating ambiance of modernity and elegance. I was hoping it offered an exquisite dining experience that tantalized both the palate and the senses. It didn't meet up to my expectation of an evening of culinary indulgence. Ambiance a 5, extremely OVERPRICED menu, food taste was a 3.5, service sadly a 2. Fried calamari was crispy and size large enough to share. Had to wait bit for the extra sauce but still tasty. The wedge salad was not really enough to share, but definitely fresh ingredients. Rack of lamb was good, Nice size large chops. The carrot strip served with it was so hard, inedible. The Mac and cheese with lobster had a decent amount of lobster. The bolognese pasta was flavorful. The Brussels sprouts were delicious. Although they very hard at meeting the mark on Service, it does not flow into a smooth attentive staff who are knowledgeable about the table etiquette. The service does not enhance the overall dining experience. At every turn, they were intruding into our conversation interrupting with constant questions, or actions that caused us to stop and restart our conversation. The service is attentive, but almost intrusive. Best Example: if you see my water glass empty, fill it. Don't stand there, interrupt my conversation and then ask me if I wanted more water. Then go get the water and come back to the table and interrupt again to pour the water. It's great that you want to clean the crumbs off the table, but not while I am in the middle of my dinner. When a waiter sees an ongoing conversation at the table they should wait before interrupting to ask if I liked my dinner choice. I could go on about the many times and examples but not necessary. They are trying, but lacking experience.
This spot is phenomenal.
First of all, the atmosphere is breath taking. We pulled up and I instantly exclaimed that I want to live here-it's sleek, sexy, modern, and really just impressive. It's perfect for a date night, birthday, anniversary, something special. The inside was packed but you have plenty of space. The seating isn't right on top of each other, which lots of LI restaurants do, so that was much appreciated. For the amount of people in the seating area, it wasn't too loud either. It seems like they really, somehow, thought of everything. There was live music which was a sweet touch. Now to the food-!!! Everything was delicious. We got multiple apps, I got the grouper served in a sweet coconut reduction, and we split a few desserts. Definitely pricy, but worth it.

Had an amazing Birthday dinner at Arlo last night! They gave me a lovely Birthday card which was so sweet. Started off with a delicious Moscow Mule, made perfectly. For the appetizer we chose the fried calamari. Light and crispy, the portion is huge. For mains I had the crispy duck breast and my fiancé had the shrimp. My duck was cooked to perfection and the blackberry gastrique was so incredible it made the dish. My fiancé loved his shrimp. For dessert we shared and devoured the baked Alaska. The side table flambé was so fun and made the night super special. Also can't forget the complementary champagne they gave us for my birthday. I loved the low light and warm decor of Arlo made it so romantic and added to the specialness of the night. Oh and the service was really impeccable. Definitely will be coming back!
Came for our 10 year anniversary- Ambiance is 10/10.
It's a beautifully decorated/ designed space, I forgot I was on LI and not in the city somewhere. Server was friendly, bussers kept up with our table- filling waters, wiping crumbs etc. Onto the food - our appetizers were a bit underwhelming. The octopus was charred- a little too much for our liking and we only got two tentacles. The baked clam filling was delicious- but they were TINY. The clam sizes are suitable for a two year old. My lobster pasta dish was good, and a nice portion. My husband's skirt steak he said was okay - not worth the $55, but he enjoyed his sides. We had the rosemary crème brûlée as dessert- the custard was good, but definitely did NOT need the rosemary added to it. Some things should be kept traditional and I think crème brûlée is one of them. Something I did notice was the amount of time it took for each course to come out. I felt like we waited awhile for each course, which was interesting bc the restaurant wasn't really full/ super busy. I didn't mind since we weren't in a rush and were enjoying our date night, but the kitchen was a bit slow. I'd come back and have a nice cocktail at the bar- but food is average. I'd say 3.8/5

Amazing touches at Arlo Made my husbands night! I mentioned we were celebrating a birthday and OMG our waiter had a birthday card for him-wow-really nice touch! the duck was delicious not greasy a beautiful portion! But the parsnip purée was mind blowing-such a beautiful taste! My salmon was cooked beautifully it was a beautiful healthy meal. The beet salad was lovely. We will be back!
If you love a fine dining experience this is the place for
If you love a fine dining experience this is the place for you. Talk about curb appeal...Arlo offers an absolutely stunning view as you drive onto the property. The view sets the tone for the experience that follows. We arrived much earlier than the rest of the party so we enjoyed a cocktail at one of the most beautiful bar area spaces I've seen on Long Island. This area is nestled away from the dining area giving you a little privacy while enjoying your drink and waiting to be seated. I had a French martini and my bf had the spicy marg. Both YUM! Marg is extra spicy but we loved it. The bar came equipt with an extensive list of wines and spirits. The menu includes a table of contents for easy viewing. The dinning area has a mixture of seating options large booths and tables. We sat in a rounded booth that was spacious but a little awkward for our party size. The staff here is a dream when it comes to hospitality. Our server Cory was kind, pleasant, attentive and a pleasure to dine with. The manager Mathew checked in to chat with us about our experience which I find is always a nice touch. This gave us such a great feel of being taken care of while at Arlo. Thanks Matthew! Here's our food order and brief rating... Apps Tuna Tartare 9/10 so fresh Grilled Octopus 6/10 over cooked but flavorful Mac and Cheese 9/10 so yummy Mushrooms : 11/10 delicious Dinner Lobster Parpadelle 6/10 i felt the sauce didn't pair well with the texture of the pasta and the lobster however they are not shy with the amount of lobster and I was grateful for that . Grilled eggplant 10/10 Risotto 10/10 our favorite would go back just for this ** I hear the steak is great here I am not a meat eater so I can't say Desert Apple a la mode OMG 100/10 Chocolate mousse ? 6/10 ehhh Bourbon merengue (table side flame) loved the show ! Did not love the desert 2/10 The venue has a gorgeous grand piano upstairs that leads to an outdoor space that was closed because of the weather. I am looking forward to returning to spend some time outside and trying the rest of the menu ! Extra Details I loved: Valet A ticket for to-go bags so you're not walking around with your extra food. Open kitchen Gorgeous bathroom In house sommelier who came to chats with us about wine pairings and suggested a wine for our meals thanks Joe ** on wed. Wine bottles above 150 are half off Overall 4 stars for the food 5 for everything else! So an absolute yes for me for a big party, for a date, for a celebration, for a drink, for the ambiance, or for a cute girls night.
My new favorite restaurant! Everything was perfect from
My new favorite restaurant! Everything was perfect from beginning to end. The ladies at the front desk were more than accommodating and super friendly and nice. The atmosphere is amazing. The bar is so pretty and the bartenders are more like mixologists. The cocktails are so tasty. The food was incredible and the service was even better. I literally love this restaurant and will be back ASAP.
I had no idea the old catering hall turned into this
I had no idea the old catering hall turned into this beautiful restaurant. We went for my husband's birthday brunch. Just the two of us. Valet parking as you pull up. Hostess had our reservation and was friendly. There was live music ending so we missed that at 2pm. Our waiter seemed great. He was experienced as he explained and kept saying he would make this the best experience for us. The French martini was amazing. My husband was drinking ipas and liked his choices. First we ordered from the raw bar. Oyster and little neck clams. About ten minutes later we ordered a salad and entrees. In the midst of this a large family arrived next to us. Just be regulars because the waiter became very concerned that his staff have their appetizers out and ready and his attention went solely to them. This is a pet peeve of mine. Table size shouldn't determine better or worse service. Everyone should be treated equally. Needless to say, he totally forgot our raw bar order because the salad came out absolutely was eaten. He comes to put new cutlery down for our mains. I so didn't want to say anything but we did and then put food was help which made me nervous because y husband got the lobster bene and I the duck both of which can dry out under heat lamps. We watched as he scorried to get our raw order since it's an open concept kitchen and we were in their vantage point. He never apologized or admitted to his mistake and that annoyed me most. Rest of meal was good. The dick was excellent actually. Flavors were incredibly paired. The large party and us received complimentary champagne as we were both celebrating birthdays. Although the waiter made it a point to emphasize that the champs were on him as he handed me the check. Tacky Also, manger made it a point to stop at the large table and check on their experience as we were completely ignored and bypassed. I'm sad because I truly love the decor and menu. I wanted this to be a five star review. For the money we spend to have a nice celebratory meal, you expect great service. U fortunately the service didn't match the cuisine. Bravo chef! Do better service dept.

I'm a regular customer of Arlo and I cannot speak highly
I'm a regular customer of Arlo and I cannot speak highly enough about the quality of the food, the staff and ambience. I make a point at sitting at the bar every time I go because each and every time I am delighted and thrilled by the conversation and service. Arlo is the kind of place I feel comfortable of being myself and enjoying life. Unfortunately, restaurants of this caliber being rare as they are, sometimes attract a crowd that does not know the meaning of the word joy. An establishment of such esteem is bound to draw in both wonderful and less than pleasant human beings. On one such early evening at Arlo while enthralled in vivacious conversation with a dear friend of mine, the amazing bartender came around to enjoy some time with us and share some laughs. And with some drinks and some fun, a few f bombs may have slipped. While I understand this could be offensive to some, it is just a word. Nancy K's review was a textbook projection of her internal misery and general unhappiness with life. Rather than being an adult and dealing with the issues in the moment, Nancy K decided to throw a tantrum on the internet, which as you can see, is her M.O. when you read Nancy K's reviews, which are all negative. Hey Nancy, if you dislike every place you go to, maybe it's best if you simply stay the F BOMB home. Much love to the Arlo staff! Don't change a thing!!

I went to dinner with my daughter and we had a great experience The food was outstanding and the servers were fantastic. I've been to Arlo a few times and it never disappoints.
Arlo, nouveau gatbsy vibe
Really wonderful atmosphere. Feels like a boutique hotel. Ate here twice. No bad meals, higher level of cooking. The pork chop is probably one of the best I’ve ever eaten! Bar is on fire.
Incredibly Delicious Meal!
My daughter and I had an incredible dinner with excellent service. I had the halibut, which was prepared the most phenomenal way here. My daughter had a really delicious lobster pasta. The restaurant is beautiful and we had a relaxing dinner- not rushed at all. Highly recommend!
Excellent Food but Too Noisy!
This is a beautiful restaurant with excellent food and service. We were two couples sharing our mutual anniversary dates and the waiter presented as all with complementary flutes of sparkling wine. My wife and I shared an Arlo Salad, a tasty beginning that was graciously split into two plates at our table by the waiter. I had a delicious duck plate and my wife enjoyed her sea bass. The sides that came with them were delicious, even the Brussels sprouts, but they were a bit skimpy. We could have ordered extra side dishes, but at the high prices charged for the main courses they ought to be more generous. We shared a Baked Alaska for dessert that was beautifully presented but not very tasty. What keeps me from rating this restaurant higher was the excessive noise. The place was admittedly busy but I believe that they have a major acoustical problem. None of the other diners seemed to be boisterous but everyone found it necessary to raise their voices to be heard by their companions above the din. To add to the noise level they even had soft music playing in the background. The entire place needs to be refurnished, perhaps with acoustical ceiling tiles, wall hangings, and wood in order to absorb these annoying sounds before I would return to partake of their delicious, albeit expensive menu. One other small complaint. They have excellent friendly valet parking justified by the popularity of this restaurant. But we arrived in the rain and had to walk about twenty feet to reach the front door. A canopy over the alleyway would be welcome.
Once was enough
Four of us ate at Arlo recently. Two stars for the excellent wait staff, the bread and the sauteed spinach side dish. Now for why my husband and I will not return: His dry martini was extremely weak. I talked him out of ordering another. (Why get disappointed twice?) I requested olive oil because the bead basket arrived with butter only. What I got was about two tablespoons of oil, hardly enough to share with my husband, let alone our 2 friends. My chicken parm came with nothing else, although I was informed I could order a side of pasta for $8.00 more. I didn't. The chicken was a challenge to cut, even using a steak knife and so overcooked that chewing was difficult. My husband's eggplant entree was mainly eggplant skin. He left hungry. Both of our entrees were not hot - just room temperature, if that. We didn't inform the waiter of our displeasure because we typically do not do that. We simply vote with our feet. Pretentiousness doesn't impress us. Good food at reasonable prices does.

When you sell a reservation that has a prepaid fee AT takes a commission on that fee. This doesn’t really make sense because it’s an expense the seller incurs not part of the profit that is shared.
For example:
Carbone NYC fee to book table for 2 is $108.88
If you sell it for $200 on AT you get $140 from them.
Your net profit is $31 and AT collects $60 in fees.
It would make more sense not to charge commission on the upfront fee as this creates a disincentive and results in higher costs for buyers.

Agreed. Ultimately not addressing this month after month is clearly resulting in a drop in certain venue’s rankings & sales.
