Aramburu San Telmo Reviews from The Last Year
Very very nice place.
Good if you are in the mood for steak but everything is very good. Waiters are fabulous.
I found the food very good.
What I didn't find appetizing was the bait and switch providing the lunch menu and placing it in the full menu!! My problem, but my. Guests chose to spend my money liberally instead of just eating a normal lunch!! I won't be back and I won't recommend!
A sublime dining experience at the best restaurant in BA.
This restaurant was spectacular! We had the 18 course (!) tasting menu with wine pairings. It was very expensive but worth every penny. The food was exquisite: creative, beautiful, and delicious. After a few days in steak obsessed BA, it was nice to have a menu more tilted toward fish and vegetables. The setting was beautiful; modern but austere, very understated. Every table seemed to have a great view of the kitchen and the chefs meticulously assembling the next course. The service was also perfect. Friendly, attentive, accommodating, but relaxed and not at all pretentious. My wife's stomach was feeling a bit uneven after several days of rich porteño cooking and was unable to finish one of the courses. The chef came over and asked if everything was alright and whether she would prefer something different. It was a touching and sincere gesture. The wine pairings were also inspired. The selections were weighted towards white and orange wines, appropriate to the sea food oriented menu. In the USA, we tend to only see mass market, bargain priced Argentine wines, mainly Malbec. In reality, Argentina produces some fantastic white and sparkling wines. They are not cheap, but I think the locals tend to snap up all the production from these boutique wine makers. After the final savory course, we were upstairs to an intimate room with comfortable tables and seating. There we were served several dessert courses (with wine pairings.) Coffee, tea, and cordials were on offer, but we were completely sated. This was one of, it not the finest dining experiences I have had in my 67 years. The chef richly deserves his two Michelin stars, and the wonderful supporting cast of chefs and waitstaff were all eager, professional and seemed to be enjoying their work. If you can afford it, go!
Server was great he was always around.
The empanada starter was delicious. I had the NY Strip and my gf had the Ribeye and both of us thought it tastes great. The environment was nice not too fancy but still very nice.
Incredible.
Incredible food, amazing service and every dish was stunning to say the least. A culmination of flavor adventure and sheet beauty, the team at Aramburu creates an atmosphere, menu and food adventure that is hard to replicate - so simply go, relax and enjoy. Set down a small alley in the heart of B.A. in a stunning building. The kitchen is all open for you to enjoy the smells as well!
Great food but doesn’t worth the price
Great food but wasn’t as impressed as I expected…the price is pretty high for what it is. For 2 michellin stars I thought I was having something exceptional and unique, but flavours were not astonishing. I can say that the presentation of each step was very nice tough
Wow
Great experience on fine dining, I enjoyed trying the food so much. The staff and friendly and well trained and good selection of wine.
Awesome good, excellent drinks and very nice ambiance.
The service was very good. Very clean restaurant.
First time here.
Had the ensalata San Telmo with artichoke hearts. My entree was a 1/2 lonche de lomo, steak fries and a beef soup. The salad was a great choice and a perfect start to my meal. The sandwich was well seasoned and flavorful. The sandwich and soup were well seasoned and beefy. The service was great!
First-class international experience
We went to celebrate the good and bad things in life with 2 friends. We only knew that it was excellent and not much else, we let ourselves be surprised. From the first step to the last, each one was a sensory journey. Both the alcoholic and non-alcoholic pairings accompanied without creating interference and elevating the flavors even more. The attention, the visible "laboratory" kitchen, and the place, were a movie set, you could be in a series and it would not have attracted attention. International level experience at appropriate prices.
Started great, ended horribly
Our arrival at the restaurant set a promising tone with several dishes arriving swiftly, which we appreciated. Opting for wine by the glass, the staff recommended we share a single selection, served sequentially, which struck us as unusual. Regrettably, this resulted in only one glass of wine being served throughout our meal. The pace of the meal felt excessively rushed, with all our courses served within an hour. Despite the head chef personally delivering our main course, a request for a photo opportunity was declined with a vague promise for later, which never materialized. The experience took a turn for the worse during the dessert course upstairs. Although we received three desserts over an arduous hour and a half, their quality was merely passable. The celebration took an unpleasant turn when a birthday cake accompanied by nitrogen-frozen champagne resulted in a severe freeze burn on my tongue, significantly dampening my ability to enjoy flavors—a major setback for someone passionate about culinary exploration. The most disappointing aspect, however, was the service. The staff's appearance was unprofessional, marked by worn and dirty footwear, and our departure was as unceremonious as it was unwelcoming, particularly after we raised concerns about the injury caused by the dessert. This lack of attentiveness and care overshadowed the entire dining experience, suggesting that service improvement is crucial for this establishment.
As I mentioned above, simply Fabulous. Perfect!
Extraordinary. From the reception, the first good impression, Impeccable. Atmosphere, lighting of the place, music, everything is enveloping to enjoy one of the best restaurants in the world. The food is simply perfect. Texture, combination, color, FLAVOR! They have two Michelin stars for a reason. Fabulous. Without hesitation I would visit again. Thanks to the entire restaurant team.
Go there !
Only Alinea in Chicago had a better tasting menu. The food was inventive and actually worth eating, which not all tasting menu 2 or 3 star restaurants are. The service was excellent as was the wine pairing. Unlike many tasting menu restaurants, the courses came at a reasonable pace, you weren’t sitting there wondering when you would be finished and be able to go home. Very little pretense. We would go back in a heartbeat.
Incredible!
Perfect! Best restaurant I've ever been to... a wonderful sensory experience, pleasant atmosphere (without excess refinement) and very good service! It's very worth it.
Absolutely recommended - don't miss!
Perfect performance. Excellent food, excellent service, good concept. The dishes impress with innovation, aesthetics and taste. The service is warm. Due to the tango evening that followed, I was pressed for time - this was perfectly taken into account. A really mature performance even in the 2 and 3 Michelin star range. Absolutely recommended.
Good food but overall experience could be better
While the food was undeniably flavorful, my overall experience left much to be desired. The pacing of the meal was notably rushed, with dishes being delivered in quick succession, detracting from the anticipated leisurely enjoyment of a tasting menu experience. Despite the commendable flavors, the lack of surprises in the dishes’ textures and intriguing flavours failed to evoke the excitement and anticipation typically associated with fine dining at this caliber. Furthermore, there was a notable lapse in service when one of the dishes was presented without explanation. This oversight left me feeling disconnected from the culinary journey the chef had intended to take diners on. We chose the non-alcoholic drinks pairing, which was disappointing. Although explanation of the drinks, there was no explanation of how it pairs with the presented food, which is expected in an harmonisation. It definitely missed the opportunity to elevate the dining experience In conclusion, while Aramburu undoubtedly possesses the culinary expertise worthy of its Michelin stars, my visit was marred by rushed service, a lack of culinary textures/intriguing flavours, and inadequate beverage pairings. It is my hope that the restaurant addresses these shortcomings to ensure that future diners can fully appreciate the excellence for which it is renowned.
It was worth it from start to finish.
Amazed from the moment I arrived until the moment I left. The service is excellent, the flavors exquisite and we were lucky enough to get a table right in front of the kitchen, a pleasure.
The food is amazing but the service is what has to
The food is amazing but the service is what has to drastically change. I understand that this is a high end restaurant and rightfully so, but if you aren't a high end individual the service will be shown. As we sat down we had been given the wine menu, as I have been sober over 2 years I do not drink. But seems the server took it as I couldn't afford it, so his demeanor drastically changed. Asked for bread said it'll be right out wasn't given to us, to get refills on our drinks had to stop him as he would pass by us on his way to the bar, thankfully we were seated in that path. Never once just checked in the way he would at the higher end customers. Good is great I will not deny, but if your someone who saved and scrapped for a special night and don't have over 6 figures in your account stay away. You can see the difference, it was a special night ruined by a server who sensed I wasn't like the rest. Manager never checked in on us once just to see how our experience was, I assume because they already knew since I'm not elite.
A unique experience!
A unique experience, the dishes are works of art. The service is extremely professional. It is very difficult to choose which one was the best because they were all exquisite. I recommend it!
Very Good
Pros: - Beautiful decor. Small interior. Felt very intimate. - Excellent attention by wait staff. As soon as you were done with a dish, they were picking it up. - Great wine pairings that went excellently with the food. - Innovative, creative food. It was playful without being overly complicated or unapproachable. Delicious! - The pricing was reasonable at $180 USD per person. Cons: - The timing of the service felt odd. There were 18 small plate dishes served sometimes multiple at a time. While the quantity was not overwhelming because they were often one bite, it felt a bit hurried at times. The service we chose was designed to be 1.5 hours which is a lot to get through for 18 dishes. After the entree's, we were escorted to the upstairs for desert and after dinner drinks. But the service ground to nearly a halt and we were left waiting awkwardly for a long time which felt disjointed compared to the speed of the main dishes. - Several us got ill later in the evening which we attribute to the food. Admittedly, some of the food is more adventurous such as ceviches and sweet breads. But it did not make for an enjoyable experience in the middle of the night. Overall I would say this is a very good restaurant and I would encourage people to visit. With small improvements it could be even better.
Great restaurant to try in Buenos Aires.
The food and service at this place is fantastic. It is a great restaurant to experience but I have one pet peeve that seems to be happening a lot with high end restaurants lately and they did it. There is this trend of sneaking in ways to add things to the bill for the customer. For example I did not order the drink tasting menu but realized that when they placed the second glass on my table that they assumed I would buy it. I mentioned it and they stopped serving me alcohol and didn’t charge me but I think that most people going to these sort of restaurants would just let it pass and get charged for something they were never asked if they wanted it. This happened to me a lot in restaurants in Buenos Aires and I think that’s unfortunate because the food scene here is incredible and has so much potential but things like this you should look at for. Other than that it was fantastic and highly recommend.
This was hands down the best dining experience of our lives.
The best meal of my life. On our honeymoon in 2018, my wife and I ate at Aramburu, before it relocated to the northern part of the city and earned its Michelin stars. We still talk about that meal today. We were lucky enough to return to Buenos Aires in 2024, and we had dinner here yesterday. This time we took my parents too. They also said they never had a meal like the one we had last night. Twenty courses, each more delicious than the last. Splurge and go for the wine pairing. It is worth it. You will taste some truly special wines. You can receive a discount if you pay in cash, especially US dollars. But even with the surcharge for credit card, the cost of the meal was still less than a third of what it would have been in Paris or New York. And the online reservation system is easy to use. I would book well in advance. This place is understandably popular.
A rushed and hectic experience - at least the food was good
The food was great but the experience felt very rushed. We finished the first 16 courses in less than 1 hour and 15 minutes. Each dish was served seconds after the previous one. At times, the waiters even removed wineglasses that were not yet finished due to the next course being served. After eating 15-16 courses in 1 hour 15 minutes, the waiter escorted us upstairs for desert in another room. While eating the main courses downstairs and observing the other tables, it was obvious this was done to get as many people as possible through the door. We were told by a waitress that the restaurant had recently begun having 3 rounds of seating each night - not something I would expect from a restaurant with 2 Michelin stars.
Great food ! But the servers take too long, or maybe it's
Great food ! But the servers take too long, or maybe it's just who you know like everywhere else in this town. The food is great ! Lighting is good. Nice for date night.

Good question. Currently the bidder will have to include the prepaid dinner price plus bid to secure the reservation. AT is currently working on an upcoming release where the prepaid amount and the bid amount are two separate transactions. Happy Bidding!
