A 'Must-do' to discover the sea side delicacies through highly creative series of preparations

Mmmmmm what can I say ?! Definitely not my style as I might still the typical traditional food lover. This restaurant is far too creative for me and I appreciate the ingredients with sea but I think its a bit overdone

Probably the best service I’ve ever experienced which, combined with the visual and theatrical food presentation made our visit so memorable. The initial amuse bouche were delicious, served in a separate room with multiple chefs preparing them in front of you. Moving on to the dining room the presentations continued at regular intervals. Whilst remarkably inventive and beautifully plated some of dishes did miss the mark. The Iberico ham style tuna belly was challenging and the seafood based desserts didn’t really work. Out of ease we took the (standard) wine pairing which was a mistake. Some of wines were delicious, but the unfiltered Jerez wines were not to our taste. Overall an amazing experience but in this instance the food was more style over substance.

The experience of a 3 Michelin starred restaurant is incomparable. I will probably never experience service, beauty and artistry like this again. Was I a fan of ALL the food creativity? No. There were two or three dishes that were too much for me. But the experience as a whole was for me, well worth it.

We were there for the fifth time, so you can call us diehards and from the very beginning. Each time we go there, there are these big surprises and all plates are every time very different and so creative the new ones. You are learning what the sea can brings you and that makes it such an impressive kitchen. Besides that there is always that excellent service with big smiles and very helpful by all your questions. What a treat.

We were there for the fifth time and every time it is more and more interesting how they prepare their plates with such a variety of products from the sea. So great and advise everyone to try these treats. It’s really your money worthwhile.

I love how all Michelin’s are in plane site, in locations that you’ve passed multiple times and didn’t think twice about it. Aponiente is beautiful, an old mill turned restaurant the chef did an great job transforming this place to what we see today. The decor is perfectly inline with the theme of the sea. There is no other fine dining establishment I’ve been to that compares to this! Prior to being seated at your table you’ll have a seat in a comfortable waiting area where you’ll indulge in some of the best appetizers you’ll nibble on. From there you’ll go on a small tour of the restaurant/kitchen prior to being seated; you can see all of the chefs hard at work. The main dinning area is well lit, with cool drop ceilings and a view of the kitchen. The waiters are all in sync and well prepared when serving you the multiple main course meals throughout your dinning experience. The food is down right delicious and has so many amazing flavors. The fact that none of the dishes had any, beef, pork and chicken was impressive; it was all from the sea and magnificent. Another amazing thing was how much of the sea was used to make the delightful food, this restaurant is all about sustainability and things that would typically be thrown out from a fish were repurposed and used in the dishes. I highly recommend going to Aponiente if your ever in El Puerto de Santa Maria. You won’t be disappointed, worth every penny.

We had an outstanding experience from a host of snacks to an amazing meal covering many aspects of the sea. It is hard to describe each dish, but each were amazing. Service was superb. I was surprised to read that another writer didn’t have enough food as I have a healthy appetite and had more than enough. At this level food should surprise and it certainly did, especially the last dish.

You will eat exceptional and quite rare seafood here, no doubt. But it's not going to be enough of it. And you'll feel rushed. And you'll not have a wine pairing to remember. After eating the whole menu including 3 of their breads, we were still left hungry.
The service is very rushed and on top of that it seems that they literally have to refill your wine glass 20 times per bottle. They will come to your table atleast 20 times to pour like 1-2cl of wine. Enough for a sip or two and then they need to re-fill again...
The atmosphere is too noisy. There is simply too many tables for the space, which ruins the experience for many.
But why does a 3 star restaurant not have a wine pairing? Has sherry pairings instead? Dont you have a sommelier?
No satisfaction.
