Perfect dinner

5/5 by 👻 @Ulyana on 09/04/2025

We’ve chosen this restaurant for our anniversary celebration, and it was a cool idea. The set was awesome: interesting and classic tastes combinations, good serving - everything made your dinner as a journey. There are options to upgrade couple of servings with black caviar and black truffle, and I highly recommend you to use this options to enhance your experience. There are counter seats (from there you can see how kitchen works) and table seats - more classic dining experience. Staff is polite, but not all of them have sparkle, only couple of people made your dinner exceptional.

Getting ready for our trip to Toronto, I watched a lot of

5/5 by 👻 @Michelle T. on 09/01/2025

Getting ready for our trip to Toronto, I watched a lot of travel guides to find just the perfect place to celebrate my Husband's 50th birthday dinner. Alo; time and time again was a restaurant that kept popping up as a popular option as a must-visit culinary experience. I made the reservations several months out for a party of 4. As the time of the reservation neared, the restaurant reached out to me about a week prior to confirm our reservations and see if anyone in our party had dietary restrictions. I typically follow a pescatarian diet and two others in my party had gluten restrictions. It was really thoughtful of them to reach out and get that squared away. The restaurant itself is in a non-descript entrance. You're greeted by the hostess to confirm your reservation and then you are granted entrance to an elevator that takes you to the restaurant. The restaurant has a beautiful decor that's dark, chic and sophisticated. We were welcomed into the bar area while we were waiting for our table. Once we were seated, the food show began. Everyone who waited on us from our waiter, sommelier and support staff, were very professional and friendly. Every time something was brought out- there was almost like a synchronized choreography to the presentation. There would be two presenters placing plates at both ends of the table simultaneously. It was unlike any dinner service I had ever experienced. We had an about 9 different courses in our tasting menu. Mine was modified to account for my pescatarian preference. Here are the dishes I was served: Pomme Soufflé/ Amaebi/ Tomato - Tasting of Tuna Akami/Chutoro/Otoro These courses were delicate and fancy. Basically it was tuna, a little caviar and pastry. The Otoro was out of this work yummy and rich! Dungeness Crab, Black Truffle, Hen Egg, Spinach This was my favorite course. Nothing quite beats Crab + Runny egg on fresh bread. NOTHING. It was so delicious, the ultimate comfort food dish. East Coast Scallop, Courgette, Lemon, Fine Herbs. Very good- you cannot go working with a buttery scallop! Koshihikari Rice, Dashi, Lobster, Porcini Mushroom, Kohlrabi, Black Truffle. This was my second favorite dish. It had so many umami flavors that harmonized well. Very satisfying. Agnolotti, Black Turffle, Parmigiano- Reggiano, Ricotta. Another well-executed comfort dish. Freshly made pasta with a rich cheese sauce. De-lish! Madam, Chanterelle Mushroom, Artichoke, Watercress, Black Garlic. This was my least favorite course. I could've done without it. Cherry Sorbet This was unlike any sorbet I'd ever had- it was like crunchy ice infused with cherry. It was really good though, and I'm still thinking about it! Ontario Strawberry This was a pavlova type cake along with a macaroon and a few other small pastries. Ultimately, I would've traded it all for some more of the Cherry Sorbet. The items in this last course did not mean sure up to the deliciousness of the Cherry Sorbet. We had begun our dinner reservation at 8:45pm and were wrapped up at midnight. Overall, our party really enjoyed our time here at Alo, and had excellent service the entire evening. Most of the food was really spectacular, and the only recommendation I would have is to have a deeper dive with more vegetables. I would've like to have seen more green in the dishes to balance out the richness. Other than that- a phenomenal night! Finally- I have to circle back with some of the elegant and smart design touches that make this establishment stand out. The team wears New Balances- SMART choice! I lobe those and enjoy the comfort- no doubt this helps the team stay on their toes! The restrooms are individual and gender-neutral. This is great for privacy- and they have Le Labo hand soap. Another SMART choice! Okay, it's totally clear that Alo Restaurant is a stellar place to go for an immersive and elegant night out. This was an excellent choice for my husband's 50th birthday and one we will definitely never forget. It was a special night- and all the details from the exceptional food, chic decor and too-notch service were worth the hefty price tag. Thank you Alo Restaurant!

Tres disappointing!

My partner and I ordered ala carte. The portions were ridiculously tiny and given the price one would expect a more generous serving. Additionally, the duck was dry and lacked flavor and the dungess crab had less than a teaspoon of shredded crabmeat. Do not go there hungry- we had to stop for pizza on the way home!

Visiting Toronto and trying Alo for the first time.

5/5 by 👻 @Mike H. on 07/13/2025

It's hard to find the entrance since their sister restaurant is two doors down named Aloette. You take the elevator to the second floor and once arrived the staff treats like loyalty. The atmosphere is modern and comfortable. My wife and I both got the tasting menu and added cavier and truffles. They made a dish for my son off menu knowing that he would enjoy the tasting menu, which is always a plus. All in all the staff was amazing and food was delicious. I would definitely come back when visiting Toronto again.

Very disappointing

2/5 by 👻 @lileeewhoo on 07/08/2025

We dined here on a Saturday night. Excited to try Alo. The meal started so promising and great and just went downhill (from a dish quality standpoint). Firstly, we were not having wine pairings and finished each course fairly quickly, and then sat there twiddling our thumbs waiting for each course. The meal was almost 3 hours for no reason. Gone are the days of blocking useless time in between courses - restaurant team needs to keep an eye on tables moving quickly in order to match their pace. Read the audience. A server should also explain all available up charges at the start of the meal so guests can plan which option they elect. Strangely, we were not offered caviar service, though I would have wanted to select that. The canapes, hors d'oeuvres, and seafood courses were the best parts of the meal. Lobster risotto and dungeness crab dip were very good. The red meat dishes were huge disappointments - the duck was hard to cut into yet mushy to bite into. Completely lacked flavor. The rack of lamb lacked a nice outer crust and was gamey while the A5 wagyu (upcharge) was way over salted but otherwise lacked any other character. The servers were attentive (waters always refilled), nice, and dishes cleared promptly. Unfortunately, for 400+ per person, this was not worth it.

My bf and I made reservations for the chef's table for our anniversary. From the moment, we walked in, the service was impeccable. We sat at the bar while we waited to be seated. We started off with a few amuse-bouches. The wagyu with caviar was my bf's favorite. I really enjoyed the foie gras cigar pastry. We moved on to the first few courses. The otoro with uni melted like butter. Of the main dishes, the lobster and risotto stole the show. All of the desserts were amazing. The canelé was perfection. I loved the special anniversary chocolate mousse mini cake. It was so much fun watching the chefs prepare each dish with such detail and precision. Definitely recommend for any special occasion!

Immaculate flavours, presentation, and service.

5/5 by 👻 @Jasmine L. on 05/09/2025

TIP: The door is unmarked, but you can enter Aloette their sister restaurant on the 1st floor and a staff can lead you to the elevators to Alo. My favourite standout dishes was the: -signature Koshihikaru rice dish (almost like a lobster mushroom risotto. Love the umami flavours and the textures were unreal) -wagyu tarte with caviar & the foie gras roll were rich and scrumptious bites -the sea urchin wrapped with medium fatty tuna & the fattiest tuna with crispy seaweed and chewy sago was divine. Literally melted, remelted, and melted again in my mouth! Dessert was a lovely presentation. -I'm a sucker for a Canele... and Alo's was perfection. Crunch on the outside, chewy, but then custardy in the middle! -The cheesecake cube was also the most lightest softest form of cheesecake I've had, topped with the ice cream with the icier texture was lovely. The staff is HIGHLY attentive and I swear...every-time I go to the washroom, it seems like the facilities have been refreshed. Altogether pristine experience at Alo!

Frankly this place doesn't need my measly five stars. They have a Michelin star, and well earned at that. The experience is a journey. Heck, even one dish contained a journey! I'm a fairly picky eater, and I enjoyed every dish, right down to the sumptuous desserts. We went a little crazy and started with champagne, did the wine pairing, and upgraded one of the dishes to the truffle option. Final bill was just under $1,000 Canadian. No regrets. Staff are all so nice, including our delightful sommelier. Gorgeous place. Exactly what you would expect for the rating and the price.

No. Just no. You might be tempted but just say no. If you must go, the desserts are the best part and there is a nice selection. But, the desserts are not worth the rest. They work hard at it. You get to see the kitchen. Wait staff are excellent. And, they are into it. The presentation is top notch. But the food is terrible. And, at the end of the day, I go to a restaurant for the food.

Pleased To Be Able To Try Alo

3/5 by 👻 @Wahoo on 01/25/2025

I expect that Alo can be polarizing in that some people will love this experience, whereas others will find it simply not worth it. I am in the camp of the 'it is not worth it' - at least not for me. But that is not a criticism per se, just a personal point of view. The staff were wonderful, exceptionally polite and warm. No pretension in the staff (although the presentation of dishes has an element of pretension). While the service may have been somewhat cloying at times, that is likely the nature of the beast at a Michelin star restaurant. The pacing of the delivery of the food was very slow (the meal took 3 hours, and got to the point where all of us were hoping that it would finally conclude) and the food itself, while attempting to be 'unique', was not particularly special. While there was pomp and ceremony in explaining what was being served, none of it was so captivating that I even recall any specific dish. Personally, i do not need a 30 second explanation for each 1 ounce bit of food. I get that is the nature of the beast - and if you enjoy that, this works well. And I am sure that many - when paying this much - both enjoy and expect this. It is a lot of money and if given the choice between this experience or a few dinners at other very good Toronto restaurants, I would choose the latter. Sometimes it is nice to say that you experienced a restaurant - so that you can fairly speak to its merits and detriments - so in that vein I am appreciative that I was able to dine at Alo.

While the food is fine and the service great, for the amount that it cost and compared to other lesser expensive restaurants it really didn't stand up. I was very excited to go here but every meal that we had was just good. There was one dish that was great but it just seemed like the rest was missing flavor for the most part. Exceptional tasting menu and wine pairing. Would highly recommend the white truffle pasta if it’s offered. Only negative was that I am pescatarian and received a shock when I received pork on my scallops that I only realized it after tasting the dish. They do not have vegetarian options but the pescatarian tasting menu was phenomenal minus that unwelcome surprise. Would certainly recommend this restaurant to anyone visiting Toronto!

We snagged some reservations for a Friday night during our trip to Toronto. We dined in the dining room and had the tasting menu. This was one of my favorite dining experiences I have had and was my favorite spot we tried in Toronto. We had to wait a few minutes before our table was ready and they had these little areas by the window and maybe order a drink for us to wait at. We started off with cocktails which I enjoyed. They also gave us some complimentary glasses of sparkling wine for our anniversary. Every dish was delicious. All of the staff were super helpful and so knowledgeable about every dish. To get to this place, it's attached to Aloette but it's a separate entrance. You should be able to see an entrance with stairs and an employee waiting by the elevator. You walk inside, tell the employee you're here for your reserved time, and then they send you up the elevator. After you walk out, they offer you a complimentary coat check. The dining room ambience is dark, intimate, and sophisticated. It's also more on the quieter side, so that you can have an actual conversation with the person or people you're with. We did the tasting menu in the dining room for $225 without tax and tip. It was about 12 courses total. I'll attach a picture of the menu along with everything I ate. Service was perfect and superb. Our empty plates were taken away when we finished and they kept our table clean. They provided a well detailed description of each course. The tasting easily breaks into my top 5. It's difficult to choose a singular favorite dish as they all were perfectly prepared, seasoned, elegant, and the presentation was immaculate. Yes, I was completely satiated by the end of the meal. This was definitely one of the highlights from my trip.

Second course: Foie gras pate - very refreshing with citrus taste. Third course: risotto it with black truffle with dashi soup. East meets west. Italian risotto with Japanese dashi soup Fourth course: Pan seared scallop - Cooked to perfection. Crunchy on the outside and soft and moist inside. Fifth course: Veal was very tender and full of flavour. So soft that it almost melts in your mouth Sixth course: chocolate mousse with ice cream and various desserts Service is top notch. She is very friendly and always smiling. The ambiance is rather dark but romantic as we are sitting on the bar side. The only complaint is it is hard to take pictures of the food with such low light :)

I had tried to get a reservation to Alo for the longest time, so I was very excited when I managed to secure one. Anticipation built over the week leading up to the visit, but didn't quite match the expectations I had for Canada's best restaurant. The service was great- All the staff were very attentive and knowledgeable. The barroom was small and intimate, and I felt like I was in a cool, secret part of the city, although the music was just loud enough so that no conversation could be intimate or private. I really expected to be wowed by the menu selection, presentation and taste. None blew me away. It was almost like the "A" crew had the night off. Everything tasted very good- There wasn't a bad item on any dish, but I was hoping for much better, and left Alo feeling a bit duped that I could have gotten this meal at numerous restaurants.

Good things don't always come to those who wait

3/5 by 👻 @TheAvidObserver on 01/27/2024

I had wanted to visit Alo for some time. Perhaps it would have been better were I still waiting. While overall there's little to fault, there's equally little to praise. The service was praise worthy, though with nearly a one to one ratio of staff to table, anything less would have been inexplicable. The room itself deserves less praise; simple and unfussy, but also not as elegant or refined as one might expect when enjoying a meal approaching four figures, though most disappointing was the selection of music, which included hip hop and rap and sounded curated to appeal to the often younger, self proclaimed "influencers". The environment offered little ambience, certainly not one consistent with the anticipated experience of eating meticulously prepared, beautifully plated, and professionally served dishes. As for those dishes, the reason one ultimately goes to Alo and the few restaurants recognized globally for still investing silly amounts on kitchens filled with 15-20 white coated chef's acknowledging their leader with "yes chef" in military precision, it was simply good. That's the greatest disappointment of the Alo experience, that the sum of all that training and military precision in the kitchen when finally plated is only good. The menu the evening I dined leaned very heavily into Japanese inspirations and flavour profiles. French ingredients and techniques applied to Japanese flavours has worked well for many higher end restaurants for decades, but here the repetition of an often singular flavour, in this case the fermented flavour one might find in a delicate bowl of miso soup, carried through several of the served 10 courses showed less creativity then the chef and his team are likely capable of. So after trying to secure a reservation personally for well over a year, and then having a concierge service take over for another couple of months before finally finding a mid week early evening time slot, the expectations set together with the restaurant's recent Michelin recognition were perhaps too high to have been met. For those with enough curiosity and disposable income, I say try it and form your own opinion, and for all others I say that sometimes it's better to wait. https://www.tripadvisor.ca/ShowUserReviews-g155019-d8443957-r935707945-ALO_RESTAURANT-Toronto_Ontario.html#

I was lucky to visit this place for my birthday.

5/5 by 👻 @Soyoung H. on 01/12/2024

I always had hard time securing the spot since their reservations fill up quite quickly! My significant other and I participated in the Dining room tasting menu, which is $225 per person. Upon arrival, you are greeted by a host that will take you upstairs. You go upstairs by this tiny elevator, and it is pretty slow. They help with coat check and take you to your table. Overall, the service is top-notch. From checking in before you begin your meal to when you leave the table to use the washroom, and keeping you company if your partner is gone for a few minutes! I enjoyed all the detailed descriptions of each menu, but at one point, I just could not pay attention since I was thrilled to try all the delicious dishes. I liked how there was enough space for the chair and the table. We were able to sit next to each other and enjoy our meal together. You can do some upgrades with extra but we did not opt in for it. We might do it if we revisit it, but I do not think it's necessary. My significant other's favourite restaurant is Scarpetta in Las Vegas (he has visited here at least 10 times), and said Alo could be better than them. Every dish has unique ingredients that harmonize in your mouth. Every first bite my partner and I had, we were heavenly. I just enjoyed every single menu and could not ask for more. There are a variety of desserts. We were able to finish ours, but one of our friends who had visited in the past had to bring them home as they were too full. So do expect to get full by the end of the course! I was also given another dessert on the side with a candle to celebrate my birthday. They were extremely sweet about it. Although there is no specific dress code for this place, I would dress up in a classy way to match the place's ambiance. It was one of the most phenomenal experiences I had in 2023. I would love to revisit and try their Summerlicious/Winterlicious program.

4/5 by 👻 @Cynthia W. on 01/01/2024

With all the hype that Alo gets, my expectations were pretty high coming in for a New Year's Eve tasting menu. We were seated in the bar room, which wasn't very spacious, but had a nice moody aura. Though Alo is labelled as a French restaurant, our seven course meal was surprisingly Japanese, with components like bluefin tuna sashimi, sake kasu, and maitake mushrooms. My favourite courses were the koshihikari rice white truffle risotto and the east coast scallop topped with caviar. Flavours of each dish were well balanced in every course, tasting best with all elements in one bite. Service was great throughout the evening. My friend didn't like the foie gras (our second course), and the waiter promptly replaced it with a citrus-y beet salad. We appreciated that they were well prepared for such a scenario, especially with how rich the foie gras is. Fresh cutlery was provided with every course, with the waitstaff clearing the table in sync. I was content with my experience, and I do think Alo deserves their star, but with a price point of $250pp, I wasn't entirely blown away. You are also required to pay the full amount upon booking. I'd love to come back in the future to see if the dining room experience is different.

Having eaten at other Aloette Bar, Aloette, and take-out during the pandemic, finally I managed to reserve at the Alo Dining Room. We had the eleven course tasting menu with the nine course wine pairings (2 oz. each). Starting with a warm welcome, we proceeded to a quiet dining room, that was never crowded nor hurried, creating a leisurely atmosphere. The servers are outstanding, well trained and a well honed team. They are attentive but never obtrusive. The food is beautifully presented and delicious. My date and I have lived in many countries and visited many more. We rated this meal among the best we have eaten. It is expensive but the expense is justified.

What an evening to have

5/5 by 👻 @Tee H on 11/20/2023

A fabulous evening with exciting and delightful food ingredients we had never tasted before. 11 course tasting menu with wine flight. Ben was attentive and so professional, Christopher was an excellent sommelier and if you didn’t like the wine he came an alternative. The stars of the night other than the chefs were Maya and Alicia both deserve a bonus for each he service and kindness well done ladies.

It’s once rated the best restaurant in Canada

5/5 by 👻 @Jerome Lakkis on 11/03/2023

I was amazed the first time when I dined here. But the second time I came it’s slight disappointing. Maybe my expectations were too high. Overall it’s a pleasant dining experience. Food is beautifully plated and servers are attentive and very well trained. All ingredients are in season and fresh. You can tell the chefs team put their effort on creating the seasonal menu.

As I recount my latest experience at Alo, I grapple with

4/5 by 👻 @Jenn W. on 10/28/2023

As I recount my latest experience at Alo, I grapple with the final mark: would I still consider them a 9 or a "top pick"? There were dishes that were incredible, but then some that missed the mark. The tasting menu ($225 per person) was off to a shaky start when the canapés arrived. We're instructed to eat the four bites in a particular order. The first, an oyster with compressed cantaloupe and Iberico ham oil had a fishy essence without an acidic element (like the traditional mignonette or lemon) to help cut through the strong taste. It also seemed off that it wasn't ice cold for something that should be served uber fresh. The first bite was a bust. Slowly, the redemption started with the beautifully presented uni tart, which was made even creamier with a thick crème fraiche on the bottom. While this wasn't mind-blowing, it was at least not repulsive. After the fishy oyster I had doubts about the mackerel tart, but this was unfounded as the meaty fish was very clean tasting and well balanced with bright pops of the daintiest tomatoes and fruit. Indeed, there was an ocean-like essence from the caviar, but it wasn't overpowering. The canapés ended with a foie gras and strawberry jelly tart that created a sweet and savoury element. This was surprisingly good and wonderfully rich. It's unclear if Alo is pandering to Michelin inspectors as the procession of Japanese dishes just seem out of place at a French restaurant. Sure, I can understand if they want to throw in one dish that's has a Japanese influence, but to feature a handful was just too much. Moreover, some dishes just can't live up to what you'd be served during an omakase meal. Chef Patrick Kriss should drop the madai course, a sea bream paired with chili oil, caviar, and kumquat. Like the oyster, it was fishy and warm. Give me this fish cool with freshly grated wasabi and soy sauce any day. The kinmedai was better, the red snapper was at least cold and refreshing with the oh so finely julienned radish in the centre. The various oils complimented the fish nicely and this was an improvement over the other sashimi course. If Alo must have a sashimi course (why would it), one is enough. Having a soft spot for chawanmushi I wouldn't be opposed to this remaining on the menu. The actual steamed egg was hot and silky, but then enhanced with lovely French and Western elements: smooth foie gras tofu cubes, fragrant truffle paste, crunchy radish, sweet corn, and crispy chicken skin. All this amongst a pool of reduced capon broth. What an incredible dish! This is a long review, head to Gastro World for the rest.

Nice but not Michellin worthy

3/5 by 👻 @LD100Toronto on 10/19/2023

Had the tasting menu at the bar. The atmosphere and service were great! Unfortunately, the food did not live to my expectations. Of the 6 courses, loved 3 ( crudo, risotto and scallop dishes). The foie gras tart was bland and dessert tasty but uninspiring. Where the restaurant really lost me is on the steak course, which was tough and chewy. For a Michellin star restaurant inexcusable. Overall, had a nice dinner but definitely did not feel like a Michelin dining experience.

Great food but horrible location entrance.

4/5 by 👻 @Mrs A Morris on 10/15/2023

We loved the food! Great presentation and friendly staff. Had the six course menu at the bar room for $120 with wine pairing that was worth the price. Staff gracefully waived the charges for my husband’s wine pairing (with tiny quantities for medical reasons) which was a nice touch. Thanks Anthony! Wagyu beef for an extra $90 was superb! All’s great, except the entrance that leads to an old decrepit elevator that gave us the impression we’re going to a warehouse. A downer for such a great restaurant. However, as we went there for the food, it was worthwhile.

5/5 by 👻 @Mercedes I. on 09/27/2023

Ambiance was nice but note that the tables are very small and tight together. Service was good but I have had better at other fine dining establishments. Portions were very small, but I did not come ravenously hungry, so I was satisfied and happy by the end of the meal. Hamachi sashimi - divine. Sitting atop some very flavourful oils. Foie gras tart with strawberry gelé and crème fraîche - super different and interesting, but way too rich Rice - very creamy and buttery, the crispy rice on top adds great texture and grapefruit pulp adds a refreshing tang Scallop and mussel in foam - a perfectly seared scallop is the way to my heart Steak - not a steak lover but even I thought this was great. Eggplant tempura on the side. Bread - very rich and oily bread. Adding butter on top seemed like overkill. Came warm. Dessert - a delicate and light peach cake, passion fruit caramel, canelé, strawberry jelly, and a birthday dulce de leche dessert with candle (not pictured). Although this meal stretched my budget, it was an adventure in food and well worth it for a special occasion.

It was a great experience and definitely worth every penny, we got their tasting menu. The food was incredible and the service was good. I do hope they put in a lot more work on their cocktail menu and make their desserts a bit better. The ambiance was a bit old school which im not sure if or not i like but definitely loved the sunlight coming in.

Went for dinner on Saturday, September 16th, four of us. We ate in the bar, the six course menu for $120, very good value - I've paid much more for the same in other restaurants. The food was excellent - delicious taste combinations, small portions to be sure, be if you are after taste and not gluttony, then there's plenty of food. Started out with cocktails - all four of us found them to be very well made. All told just over $200 per head - much better value than an evening at the Maple Leafs. Two bottles of wine - among the cheapest on the wine list, one a very smooth Crozes Hermitage. Service was outstanding. We told them that we had to be out by 10.45 pm (started at 8pm), and they paced it so that we were out at 10.50 pm. Glasses were never allowed to stand empty. Napkin refreshed whenever anyone went to the bathroom. Staff was very enthusiastic. It was the bar, so a little cramped for space, and the lighting was darkish, but acceptable. We will go back for the ten course offering in the restaurant (assuming that we can get a reservation).

We went to Alo tonight and sat at the kitchen table tasting.

4/5 by 👻 @Alan Y. on 08/24/2023

Overall, I say their dishes were on point and I did enjoy the evening. If there was only one negative, it would be the wine service. I ordered an old fashion to start the night, then I choose to order a Pinot from burgundy off the menu, instead of doing their wine pairing. Since I prefer red wine over white, and the wine pairing was predominantly white. I enjoyed the wine that I did get, but it was unfortunate that I didn't get the bottle opened till we were already 3-4 course into our meal. Their 'famous' sommelier, Christoper, nice guy, maybe too friendly, seems to focus too much on diners doing the wine pairings, and totally negated peeps that order bottles. I still have like 1/3 of the bottle when we got to dessert, since it was opened so late into our service. At least they packed the bottle up for take home. I found out later that do they allow corkage at $80 a bottle. If that is their usual wine service for ordering bottles, I should've just brought my own bottle from my cellar.

What a unique and wonderful dining experience!! Service

5/5 by 👻 @Lawrence C. on 08/17/2023

What a unique and wonderful dining experience!! Service was stellar from the moment we entered. I communicated with this restaurant several months in advance and made sure they could accommodate my wife's dietary restrictions for her birthday celebration. They explained they could not modify the menu in their main dining room, but would if we sat in the bar area. Considering the high quality of being a Michelin restaurant, I readily accepted. We both loved our experience. They saved a special corner table (# 26) for us, overlooking the rest of the bar area. Food was a 5-course menu for $120 ea. Drinks were an additional $189, for a total of $429 CAD. Joy, our server took great care of us. Food was exquisite. We would love to return.

We got seats at the kitchen counter, and for food nerds

5/5 by 👻 @Catherine Y. on 08/14/2023

We got seats at the kitchen counter, and for food nerds like us, it was a major treat to watch the chefs work. We were only seeing the tail end of the preparation that goes into creating such dishes, but that alone was impressive. The care that the chefs take was immediately obvious in the presentation and taste of the food. This same attention to detail was noticeable in the service, which was attentive without being intrusive. Loved our experience here!

Connect with users posting reservations for Alo Toronto

AppointmentTrader is a community-driven platform where users can exchange their reservations or leverage their personal relationships with Alo Toronto. Buyers can make informed decisions using automated seller ratings, which reflect past transactions and reliability.

Erfahren Sie mehr darüber, wie die Verkäufer-Historie und der Bietprozess funktionieren Read More Action Icon

Each posting on AppointmentTrader shows you which user submitted it and along with that provides a trackrecord of that user which indicates how much experience the user has and how many percent of their transactions resulted in them issuing a refund.

If there is no user posting that fits your schedule, you can bid on your preferred time.

Let's say Peter has a great morning and decides to take his three friends to Alo Toronto at 6 PM the same day.

He checks the restaurant's website and sees that no reservations are available. He then looks at the Alo Toronto page on AppointmentTrader, but finds that there are no user postings either.

That's where the community-driven bid process comes in.

Peter can place a bid on AppointmentTrader, which serves as a reward for any community member who chooses to work on securing the reservation. AT then notifies experienced users who may be able to help.

Step-by-Step Process
1.) Setting a Reward (Bid)
* AppointmentTrader uses historical data to recommend a reasonable reward amount for securing a reservation - let's say $100.
* Peter really wants to go, so he increases the bid (or reward) to $200.
* At this stage, the reservation does not exist yet.

2.) A Community User Picks Up the Bid
* DistinguishedTree58, an experienced AT user, has a strong track record of successfully securing reservations and low refund requests, they receive a notification about Peter's bid.
* DistinguishedTree58 picks up the bid, meaning they will now work on securing the reservation.
* Peter can now talk to DistinguishedTree58 for any questions Peter may have as DistinguishedTree58 user fills the bid.

3.) Finding the Reservation
* DistinguishedTree58 now uses their connections at Alo Toronto to secure the table.
* If they successfully get the 6 PM table for four, Peter receives a confirmation that the reservation has been secured.
* If DistinguishedTree58 fails to secure the reservation, the bid is returned to the pool so another user can try.

4.) Payment & Protection
* Once the reservation is secured, DistinguishedTree58 receives the $200 reward which is credited to DistinguishedTree58's AT balance, where users manage their own funds and can withdraw via available payout options such as bank transfer, PayPal, or Zelle.
* Peter can now enjoy the dinner with his friends at Alo Toronto!
* As with all transactions on AT, disputes and no-show fees are handled through the platform's community-driven resolution system. Users with a strong track record are incentivized to fulfill bids successfully, and community members can report issues to maintain trust in the marketplace.
