This place is an experience.
It's in a super discrete location and since we are in a foreign country we had difficulty finding the place. I read online it used to be a silver factory, hence the name AG. It had a bit of an industrial vibe. It was also one of the rowdier places we went to with lots of people dining over drinks and steaks. Seemed pretty packed. Our seats were very close to the tables next to us. There were also a lot of large rounds with big groups celebrating. My husband was only able to make a reservation for this place at 9pm, but we headed over early and asked if we could grab a drink at the bar and get seated earlier if a table opened up.The bar has its own menu separate from the restaurant, which also looked pretty good. Lucky for us a table opened up before we could finish or very delicious and also very large gin cocktails from the bar. The food was delicious, but very heavy and the portions were huge. We shared pate appetizer and ordered a meal meant for one person to share. It was a huge steak with salad, potatoes, and tomatoes. I felt like the waiter was a bit pushy on wanting us to get more but we were pretty stuffed. We did also split a dessert, which I have no memory of. It was potentially a cheesecake and it was not worth the calories.

Amazing quality on their rib eye, which is almost the only thing on their menu - but they have all sorts of rib eye - all of the best quality, tender, marmorized to perfection. I like the Finnish one.
Be the first to ReplyI went here with a few friends who are all meat lovers.
We were not disappointed! We had oysters to start with, as well as buffalo mozzarella and artichoke. I was as one point wondering if I could even fit any more food. And so the meat arrived, on huge plates! We ordered the Porterhouse for 2 people - I can definitely recommend it! This is a place I'm going back to!

Last night was my 3rd visit to AG in the past two years, and while it was with friends to celebrate I was a bit apprehensive: my last two visits weren't great experiences. Sadly, the trend continues. My disappointing & disappointed experience stems from AG's premise: the steak. The steaks are the stars here, and that is the experience you want...and are paying mightily for. So no matter how marvelous the appetizers are, the wine is, the desserts are, etc.. you come here for the meat. Given that single-serving beef offerings are largely limited to sirloin, ribeye, and absurdly priced Wagyu, the reasonable expectation is that your order would be...well, awesome. It wasn't, and hasn't been. Last night was the 2nd time I ordered the ribeye, and my wife got the sirloin. This time I ordered 'medium' in order to get 'medium rare', since apparently at AG temperature designations are their own, and err to the 'rarer'. I should have known that it would not be a great experience - again - when my steak came out with a little Polish flag. The waiter explained that the meat was from Poland. What? When did Poland become a purveyor of fine meat? My wife's was from Scotland. Anyway, my heart started sinking as I gamely tried to cut the meat (medium rare, for medium). I'm was tough, rubbery, not very flavorful, and definitely NOT worth $50. I buy much better meat at Ostermalm Saluhall, so am stumped - again - as to why they can't serve a better grade of meat? My wife's sirloin was much better, but definitely not Peter Luger grade (as has been commented here, and I'm a displaced New Yorker). The apps & sides were fine (chanterelles toast, mozzarella di buffala, potatoes gratin, etc..). But they're not what you come for. We had 3 bottles of Gaja's 'Promis' (divine), but after a big spectacle of decanting and tasting the wine first, we were served a corked wine (quickly replaced). Really? The Bearnaise was too lemony, and was mixed with parsley (Hmmm...) This will be my last trip here. It's just too expensive for mediocre meat: $800 / SEK 6,500 for two steaks and two burgers. I am giving it three stars because the waiter was a nice guy. Consider elsewhere for your Stockholm steak experience...

Common folks, we need to rate this steak temple with top scores. Consistency, quality, setup is all very good. I tried Scottish highland ribeye dry aged followed by Finished Milk cow old animal vacuumed. Like the idea of the second choice as it was house recommendation. Reminded me of Magnus Nielsen experiments. What crossed my mind are two things: 1. Gene pull of milk cows that breeding designed for maximum milk output and 2. Feeding and medication for farm animals. Preference is Scottish Highland as it can resist weather all year round and grass fed. On flavor, both were delicious. Cooked well, and by well I mean, medium-rare. Rub is salt & pepper only but plentiful, if not too much. Potato in foil served as side need to evolve in something else. This is definitely not area to stick with traditional/conventional. Great place, supper cool, need to evolve and find original ways.
Be the first to ReplyThis was by far a unique experience steak house dinning.
From the entrance to the ambience and of course the menus. The decorations remind me of the slaughtered houses in the European horror film - but trust me it's a damn good steak house!

Had such an amazing meal here! Probably the best meat in Stockholm. If you have room for dessert the Crema Catalana is magnificent!
Be the first to ReplyAG was by far my favorite meal in Stockholm.
We did the steak for two meal which comes with potatoes, salad, and a roasted tomato. We arrived exactly at opening for dinner and luckily got seated immediately. Service was pleasant beginning to end.We tried the dry aged ribeye from Poland and the ribeye from Scotland. I had a really hard time deciding which one I liked more. The dry aged ribeye from Poland had a melt in your mouth texture with subtle, natural flavors while the ribeye from Scotland had bursts of flavors but was a little on the tough side. Both were AMAZING. The potatoes were delicious as well. We really enjoyed the sauce it was served with. The roasted tomatoes were also bursting in flavor and super fresh. I would highly recommend AG to fellow carnivores!
Be the first to ReplyGreat place, after we found it.
It is on a side street and not where we were expecting it, but we got there. We had no booking but a manager suggested we wait in the bar. We found a table and ate in the bar. Service was beyond excellent -- server provided us with two additional restaurant recommendations (one co-owned) and directions about how to get there. Food was great. My wife wanted a hamburger and server suggested that we share it -- he was right, because it was huge. Excellent beef, which is there specialty. Also had some wonderful baked and marinated nuts and a nice order of vegetables -- plus a wonderful "mud cake" for dessert. Most highly recommended.
Be the first to ReplyWhat a great experience.
It almost like a secret club. Usually here is someone to greet you. You walk up a circular stair way and walk into a vogue, warm chic environment. To the right the hostess stand sits. To the left you walk into a great bar with several community tables. It's a great way to meet people.Ordered a "paper plane" cocktail sweetened (look it up). Outstanding job. Tapas menu with an off menu special (crab cakes that night). Recommend Burger and Pizza :)A Must if you visit Stockholm :)
Be the first to ReplyAmazing service both in the bar and restaurant.
The quality of the food is outstanding and you will never leave the restaurant without something extra.
