We ate at the parlour for afternoon tea and it was SO SO
We ate at the parlour for afternoon tea and it was SO SO GOOD. My fiancée has a lot of allergies and they made her a unique and specialized set of pastries. The staff was very friendly and we will definitely be coming back!
Be the first to ReplyLovely hotel-beautifully redone.
The showers are large than the bedrooms. The breakfasts are great. Centrally located
Be the first to ReplyBeautiful and interesting Hotel with a hidden gem, Síbín.
You must try The York Sour that Bartender, Daniel has mastered!
Be the first to ReplyHad a generally nice high tea here recently.
Two slight quibbles:1) no answer on their telephones or emails so I couldn't successfully inform them I would be late2) scheduling a special event in the same space so I needed to be ushered out instead of being free to relax and enjoy the afternoon in the spaceI then had to go out into the lobby to finish my reading and relaxing and there's not a single quiet space where one can be free to just relax. Noise and obnoxious music everywhere.Tea and food were top shelf. Environment and service? Okay. Won't return for tea.

Spent five great nights at the Great Scotland Yard Hotel in London. Very much enjoyed the lobby and bar areas, it is a truly welcoming and beautiful hotel. Location is fabulous in Trafalgar Square with easy access to Charing Cross and Westminster Underground stations. There are numerous wonderful restaurants, museums, galleries and coffee shops nearby. Staff were amazing and helpful, especially Marco at reception and another Marco in the dining room. Breakfast was delightful every day with so many delicious choices. Lastly, 10 Downing Street is very close for any meetings you might have with scheduled with the PM or other UK agencies.

Booked a room after being stranded at Gatwick. Called the hotel for help because there were no cabs or Ubers. Was told that there are cabs. Explained that there are not cabs, rude and unprofessional. Arrived at the hotel, everything closed, no room service. Went downstairs to purchase a bottle of wine, was told I could not. Was lied to by staff. Called names. Told to fetch my husband. I refused, and front desk called him. Was insulted by two men. (I am a small female.) Lights in rooms turn on in the middle of the night, waking you, for no reason. Was told I was "upgraded" only after complaint. Upgrade absolutely indistinguishable from normal room. Overall, I felt disrespected and discriminated against. Hotel owned by man from UAE. I have never been treated so poorly. Could not sleep; cried.

This review may seem a little odd because I have not stayed at the Great Scotland Yard Hotel yet. I planned on doing so this past December, but the UK government's response to the latest COVID surge caused me to change my plans. Unlike my reservation for a follow on stay in Berlin, the hotel was very professional and accommodating in moving my reservation to a 2022 trip. Mr. Alberto Garcia personally handled my situation with great responsiveness and professionalism! I believe I have found my new "go to" hotel for my frequent London trips because of their superior customer service!
Be the first to ReplyI absolutely love this hotel.
It's so beautiful filled with history with a touch of modern. It's incredibly inviting and in a way feels like you're at home. When we walked in we were instantly greeted. After we checked in we were given a quick tour and brief history as we made our way to our room. You can really tell how proud everyone is of this hotel like if it was their baby. Especially since it's only been open for six weeks. Honestly I could spend all day just walking around and looking at everything. Our room is amazing. The bed is so comfy, they even have a paper that has different pillows for whatever your needs are. Even a pillow made for pregnant women. The bathroom is so beautiful and the toilet makes me feel so fancy because it does so much. It warms and dries your butt. Like what toilet does that? Also free Nespresso and tea in your room. The colors in the room are perfect and cozy. I need whoever decorated this hotel to completely redo my home. When your here you have to check out each dining option. Go to The Yard by Robin Gill for breakfast, the 40 Elephants for coffee or a beer. The Indian inspired room I forgot the name but it's across frOm the elevator for afternoon tea, and end your night at Sibin. Sibin is the hidden whiskey club behind the bookcase. Yes... the bookcase in the lobby opens up and has a secret kind of speakeasy with excellent service and such a chill cool vibe. The best part is all these places are reasonably priced for being located in a hotel. You definitely will not be disappointed when you come here. The next time I visit London, The Great Scotland Yard will be the only place I'm staying. Even better is that it's part of the world of Hyatt.

Everyone we talked to is proud of this hotel, and with good reason. This building used to be the site of the famed Great Scotland Yard, and in converting it to a hotel they have retained some of that history in art, artifacts and decor. The rooms are perfect, and have the typical amenities, plus some that are usually reserved for category 7 hotels such as a heated mirror so that it doesn't frost up, and one of those fancy toto toilets. They'll also bring you any pillow you desire, and have a list of options for you to choose from.We enjoyed breakfast at the yard restaurant, which was good food at surprisingly affordable prices, especially for the high quality. We also enjoyed an evening at the Sabin, a hidden speakeasy whiskey bar. What stood out was how passionate the staff was, and how much they genuinely cared about finding you something that you would love, in addition to making meaningful conversation with all of their guests. I had a great flight or whiskeys that I've never had the chance to taste before. A very relaxed and intimate atmosphere. We were able to pay with points. As usual, Hyatt doesn't treat you differently for "not paying", if anything they make you feel even more special. But even without points, at this time the prices are competitive for the location.Take advantage before demand raises the price!
