Great service by Dave and Janice.
The food were excellent and came quickly. The beef tacos and fish tacos are tasty and great flavour. The strawberries run bath and mango margarita are refreshing and delightful.

I ate here earlier This is sad how this place has such a high review. The Service was mediocre, took awhile for my drinks, every waitress very kind though. The seating was so tight, couldn't move at all. Good coat racks. Finally the food. The Guacamole and chips were amazing. The tacos on the other hand almost made me throw up. It was so dry and bland. I had to put so much hot sauce for just some taste in the food. The tortillas were stale too. I recommend if you're desperate for mexican food. Otherwise do not eat here. All the reviews are biased and lies. This place is terrible.
Be the first to ReplyThe food was ok, but the service wasn't great.
The margaritas were weak and it was relatively pricey. Won't be returning.
Be the first to ReplyWe came here for a friend's birthday in the summer.
I didn't realized I havent reviewed this Añejo branch! The drinks are half priced from 3-5 so we took advantage of that. The service was great. We stayed on the patio but the inside is gorgeous. A definite must try if you havent been already.
Be the first to ReplyAbsolutely worth the drive from Mississauga! This place
Absolutely worth the drive from Mississauga! This place offers truly "authentic" tacos, especially during happy hour--it turned into a feast for us. A big shoutout to our server, Anya. She was knowledgeable and seemed to know everything on the menu. Our order: Guacamole: 10/10 - Fresh, tasty, and generously portioned. Chicken Tacos: 10/10 Beef Tacos: 10/10 Fish Tacos: 10/10 Mushroom Tacos: 10/10 While it might seem impossible to give everything a perfect 10, it's hard to complain when each taco is only $3. The efficiency of the service was remarkable. By the time our server was completing our order, the food was already on our table. A mere 5 minutes from placing the order to having our food in front of us--that's exceptional service. I'll definitely make a return visit for the great service, enjoyable ambiance, and, of course, the delicious food.
Be the first to ReplyHad a good meal at the King Street location.
A very lively location. The place was packed as it was at the end of the happy hour. Note that the noise is very loud when full of patrons. The rib appetizer was excellent and the homemade guacamole was also very good. Hubby said that the steak was ok, but he enjoyed it more on a previous occasion. My friend loved her tacos. The churros were excellent.

I don't think I have ever had a taco with less flavor than the six I had at Anejo. Atmosphere is fun, food leaves a lot of be desired especially for the price.

Came here for some margaritas and was not disappointed! The classic was a hit, the paloma was delicious, and most of all their guava margarita was a favourite. The vibe inside was nice, I've heard mixed reviews about the food but next time I'm back I'll have to try some.

Anejo has an awesome happy hour from 3-5 pm and 10 pm to close daily. They serve really cheap but really good margaritas during that time. They also serve happy hour tacos, which are really good but kind of dry, but they have a variety of sauces that you can add to the tacos to enhance it, so why not. Their ambiance is always so lit & lively. Pro tip, always get a reservation as they're so hard to do a walk in, they're always packed. Especially for a larger group.
Be the first to ReplyThe birria tacos are really good I highly recommend.
I tried the mango and coconut chilli margaritas which were both amazing. The guac is made fresh at the table. The servers are very friendly and fun

I came here for a Birthday, and I have to say I was disappointed in a variety of ways. As seen in the photo, our food was not only visibly burned, but it was charred. It looked burnt and also tasted burnt but was still brought out and served to us.. We ate around it but were disappointed nonetheless. Then came dessert, we ordered churros for the birthday girl and they came extra burnt and hard as rocks. Our server did not check in on our table and when he finally arrived with the bill he said "oh you should have told me sooner, I would have replaced them." And handed us the debit machine. This whole experience was exceptionally disappointing.

Gave our name and we were told about a 15 minute wait for a table for two, so we sit down right at the front and wait. 35 minutes later, I ask the host how much longer - she looks at the iPad and says we are not listed and there must have been a mixup. We have been waiting there right in plain sight for those 35 minutes. Instead of being seated right away, I'm told to give my name again and she inputs it, and again told to wait. Left disappointed. Terrible service.

I've been to Anejo twice (both times shown in photos) the first time they were really busy at happy hour (50min wait) but we decided to wait anyways. The tacos were more dry, we ordered one of everything on their taco menu. The tilapia is definitely the best one, the chorizo isn't bad but everything else was kind of the same flavour across them. No salsa and I wish they had more toppings. I had to use a lot of sauce for them. The service is really nice! I'd probably come here again for happy hour only, it's a great range in time you can come in and great for bar hopping!
Be the first to Replystopped here for dinner.
didn't have a reservation and it was fairly busy, but we were seated pretty quickly. i ordered a guava margarita, yum!!! they also had a special for top shelf tequila only $10 a shot so of course we ordered a round ;) went down pretty smooth, and this is coming from someone who can't shoot tequila straight.we ordered the tableside guac and that's always a fun experience. we also got 3 tacos - chorizo, fish, and tbh can't remember the last one??? oops. they were pretty good, but not too memorable clearly hahaha. not a bad spot for some mexican, it is a little on the pricier side though!

First off, both of servers were fantastic! They were great with their recommendations, answered our questions and were patient while we were making our decisions. We ordered 2 apps -ceviche and shrimp, delicious. The 3 of us shared the mahi-mahi tacos, birria tacos and chicken tinga. Mahi-mahi was bland, birria, while tasty -the broth was a bit salty. I didn't try the tinga. We also ordered a jug (nice touch) of guava margarita, plenty to go around for the 3 of us. We moved onto dessert, the chocolate tarte -again, delicious; the churros -I can get them at Costco in the states and they are tastier. After dessert, we ordered a round of el jeffe's - really good! When we were going to order another round, we were told it was Happy Hour, so of course we got margaritas. It was around 10:30 or so and one of the managers crouched down at our table and was like -you've been here since 6:15, and there is a limit on seating, you've been here for 4 hours, we need this table. We all had a new round of pretty full drinks, so he was gracious enough to allow us to finish our drinks (sarcasm) then the bill came shortly. We asked our server if we could be moved to one of the many free tables in the bar area since we wanted to continue to drink during happy hour, she said she could not do so -not her fault. I get that turning tables is essential to the business, but we had no intention to just sit and sip water. There were several open tables at 11:30pm when we finally finished our drinks. While I understand that it's "your policy" the execution of it could've been a lot more professional and maybe from his POV he saw us sipping our water, but it's obvious he didn't realize we just ordered a fresh round of drinks, after ordering apps, tacos and dessert. Overall, it's a nice looking place, the tequila offerings are standard but nothing on the menu was a standout for me to try for "next time", since getting asked to leave didn't really seem like my/our patronage was welcomed back.
Be the first to ReplyFirst time trying this resto.
They serve Mexican food. This is the York Mills location. We ordered 3 tacos to share - tilapia, chicken and beef. The tilapia taco was the best one. I like the crunchy texture. We also tried the guacamole and chips - the server made it fresh for us at the table. It tasted really good. Good portion for two people. We also ordered the skirt steak with risotto and veggies. The steak was nicely marinated. The carrots would be softer. They were a bit tricky to cut. The service was ok. I felt our server was a bit awkward like he didn't k ow what yo say or do. He took away some of the food when I was still eating....I did wish the food was hotter. It felt like it was sitting on the counter and they were all room temperature when it was brought to our table. The prices are pretty reasonable.Overall, it was an okay experience.

For someone who's allergic to tequila I should've been more alert to where I was going .I let my friend make the reservations and i probably should've looked at the menu. Regardless I was really impressed and acknowledged the server who helped us as he triple checked everything before serving it to me (and us).We got the guac and chips - was super cool to have the guac mixed up in front of us.We shared the beef tacos and the fish ones a both were good but I wouldn't recommend taking them as leftover as they don't do the freshness justice.I had a vodka based marg and it was delicious!Definitely recommend!
Be the first to ReplySooooooo not good.
There are so many other fantastic Mexican/South American places you can go in Toronto that unfortunately do not get the air time that a King street restaurant does. I would gladly go to Chipotle then this over priced and over hyped spot. I'll let the pictures speak for themselves :/
Be the first to ReplyMy boyfriend and I came here during their happy hour.
We didn't get any drinks but all their tequila and margaritas were on special. Their classic tacos were on happy hour for $3. We tried a flight of all of them, the pulled pork, fried tilapia and chicken tinga were the best. I found the Barbacoa dry and salty. My boyfriend enjoyed the flavour of the mushroom one. We didn't add any extra add-ons for salsa and other things but in retrospect we could've used it. Some of the tacos were dry and probably should've been served with some lime? We were given a bucket of hot sauces and some sour cream which we enjoyed using. We also had the churros which were good but were slightly over done in the fryer. Overall the food was okay, good price for happy hour. The ambience was nice. The place has a nice aesthetic and quite a lovely crowd for a Monday night. Our server was okay, although I did feel a little judged for deciding not to have any drinks. When the server replied with, "do you know it's happy hour?" Maybe it wasn't what was said but the delivery? I wasn't sure if it was just my interpretation of the situation but when I asked my boyfriend he agreed that we both felt awkward. When we ordered our second round of food, he looked at his watch to which I replied, "is the kitchen closed?" And he said no, but that also made me feel very awkward. At the end of the night we had asked for our bill and it took quite some time to process the payment.Overall we had a decent experience and would maybe give this place another go but I might be more inclined to try another place in the area first.
Be the first to ReplyDid someone say tequila? Every restaurant has its twist
Did someone say tequila? Every restaurant has its twist - how about more varieties of tequila than you imagine? Over 200 in fact. There was one that was even valued at $2000 an oz? Imagine substituting their standard 9 oz margarita mix with this baby? Putting all kidding aside, Anejo has a great atmosphere. We ordered guacamole as a starter which was made right at our table -- tacos, and LA CARNE, a tasty skirt steak, hominy risotto, chimichurri, and mezcal honey vegetables. The menu is a bit light but, what they did offer was cooked to perfection. If you are looking for an elevated Mexican dining experience, be sure to check them out.
