Great place for the Israeli style breakfast , top dishes and great service ! Saturday brunch ! Try it out !! We came four years ago , it’s was great now again … still great !! As tourists we recommend it, if you’re a local and haven’t been try it out

Stumbled in by mistake but was so glad we did! Shakahuka and the Israeli Breakfast was thoroughly enjoyed. Avocado Toast was amazing, on thick chewy bread. Pancakes were unusually thick but so fluffy and delicious! Coffee was tepid and staff semi-attentive but pleasant. Would definitely try it again.

Food was okay Israeli/Mediterranean cuisine. Let down by a couple of surly waiting staff who barely spoke to us as they served us and a really bad latte coffee. Would expect much better in this part of town - go to one of the competition instead!

And that may or may not be your cup of tea. Stopped in for a late supper with my son and several of his friends. I was definitely on the older side of the other diners, but it didn't matter to me. It was buzzing and had a fun vibe. The noise level was pretty high - nothing soft to absorb the sounds.
All that aside, the food was terrific. We ordered several small plates, and each was devoured. The boys were practically licking the plates. My only complaint might have been the lack of pita bread 9only two) brought to the table, given the number of small plates and the size of our party (5). An easy enough fix, but should have come when with the food initially.
Good food, overly attentive service
The food at 12 Chairs was very good. We started with small plates to share, ordering four for four people. Each said it came w pita, but only 2 pieces arrived at the table. Not near enough for the generous plates. They did bring more, but that seems like a simple error to correct. Be sure to try the Matbucha (slow cooked tomatoes). They were so good! The food, generally, was all good. The issue was that the tables were pooled with the waitstaff not assigned to individual tables, but keeping an eye out on them all. While that may seem like a good idea, it resulted in us being asked over and over again if we were ready to order. We had ordered drinks and aps (after being asked 3 times in quick succession), and then were approached 2 more times. That is a lot in less than 10 minutes! It was not relaxing!
Be the first to ReplyDISAPPOINTING FOOD AND POLICIES IN HIPSTER HEAVEN
12 Chairs Williamsburg has very nice outdoor space from which it's to observe the passing Hipsters. Unfortunately the food -- except for the hummus -- is very disappointing: salty pierogi; under-seasoned chicken livers; inedible lamb burger. My biggest criticism: we questioned the policy of serving iced decaf coffee in a smaller glass than iced regular. Answer: "We do refills." I've been to enough restaurants to know that means refills are complimentary. The bill: 7 iced coffees. We were told, "We do refills but we charge for them." Huh?

The food was pretty good (the pierogi definitely needed salt though). The people who actually took care of us at the table were nice but they definitely need more staff. And heaters for the outdoor seating; it's too cold to eat outside now.

Went to 12 Chairs Cafe in Brooklyn... wanted to hate it!
It's too busy...they don't take reservations... it's located in Billyburg...
NO!!! The maximum wait for me is 5 minutes, maybe 7. I don't go for those trendy 'hoods. The local joints will be closed in a week. If I'm going with more than four people, I NEED a reservation. OK, I was coaxed. Maybe threatened is the right word. We were ALL starving!
Well, I'm glad my party talked me into it! What a fantastic experience!
The food is top-notch, as is the staff.
I had the Israeli breakfast. I cannot recommend it enough, but BE HUNGRY!
Everybody ordered something different, and we had a few appetizers.
The Jachnun (rolled dough) was the BEST I ever tasted. Labaneh (yogurt dip) was rich and creamy, just like you can get in the cafes of Tel Aviv. Humus (you know what that is) is up there on the charts.
As bustling as they were, we enjoyed an unrushed, spectacular time.
I can't wait to go back for dinner!
Too noisy to enjoy something
Terribly noisy (even for breakfast at 10am). You have to love to eat in a noisy place to enjoy. Music inside is loud means everybody has to shout to talk. Food is good.

I can’t say enough about this place. Fantastic food, incredible service and amazing atmosphere all at reasonable prices. Don’t miss the hummus!
