Portions are very small and very expensive. And they still charge a flat 3% fee for the kitchen staff. The service is mediocre as well. Another over-priced and unexceptional Philadelphia restaurant.

This place was PACKED on a Monday night which is how you know it is both a neighborhood and Philly favorite. Ambiance is similar to your normal trendier restaurant with dim-ish lighting and pretty considerable background noise. There is a kitchen situated in the middle of the action but doesn't detract from the experience whatsoever. We did the tasting menu, and luckily it is not one where the whole table has to commit to eating the same thing per course as some other places have you do. The dip spread was good, but given the bar set by the likes of Laser Wolf / Zahav, it was just ok. My favorite dish I think was the lamb sausage (hot mezza). It was perfect texture, and the slight sweetness of the molasses from the sauce had me wanting more. Entree-wise, the salmon kebab was melt in your mouth good, while the beef kebab had an aftertaste that had me second guessing if I actually liked it or not. Overall the tasting menu is great bang for your buck in my opinion. I look forward to coming back for the famous brunch tasting menu!

I've been wanting to try Suraya for a while now and I'm so glad I finally did! The restaurant is so beautiful both on the inside and outside. My friends and I sat outdoors and it was so easy to forget that we were still in Philly! For appetizers I tried the hummus and the muhammara. Both were delicious but the muhammara was definitely my favorite as the flavors were super unique! I also loved the freshly made pita. For my main course I got the Samke Harra. The waiter warned me that this dish is spicy and I love spicy food so I was super excited to try it. It did not disappoint! While I have a pretty high spice tolerance so I didn't find it super spicy, the fish was so well seasoned and full of flavored. I also loved the sauce it was paired with. The branzino also came with a side of rice which was fluffy and delicious. The service was also great. Our waiter was so nice and extremely knowledgeable about both the drinks and food. Overall I was extremely pleased with Suraya; it lived up to the hype and I'd love to come back to try more things on the menu.
I hate to say I was a little disappointed by the experience
I hate to say I was a little disappointed by the experience at Suraya. I came with a friend for dinner on Sunday at 5:15pm. Our waiter was super helpful with allergies and recommendations but slowly became less attentive as the restaurant got busier towards 6:30/7. The food was okay overall. I didn't love the pita bread served with the hummus especially since it wasn't warm when it came out. The spices on the Kawarma lamb dish did not pair well with the meat; however, the meat was very tender. I did love the restaurant's ambiance and would consider coming back to sit outside in their garden.
Very posh, upscale location.
The ambiance was very swanky. We are inside, which was beautiful, but I would have loved to sit outside for the vibes. I really enjoyed the kebabs and potatoes. Ask for Hannah, she was amazing!

I lived in Beirut for two years and so I love to support Lebanese and middle eastern cuisine in the area. Ambiance is wonderful and food presentation is beautiful, however $42 a person for a weekend brunch is over the top. Food was fine, standard Lebanese. Nothing extraordinary. The Lebanese Chai Latte and pasties - chocolate/halva croissant, cruller, kouign-amann were underwhelming for the price. The manousheh and zaatar/cheese croissant were tasty. If I'm craving Lebanese food, will definitely seek out a smaller, more authentic place that doesn't exploit the Lebanese cuisine and culture.

The restaurant is located in The Fishtown Section of Philadelphia. I would give the restaurant a 5 out of 5. Food was Lebanese cuisine and the wait staff was fantastic. I had the ALMAZA LEBANESE PILSNER Beer with a MUHAMMARA appetizer. The MUHAMMARA is hearty walnut and roasted red pepper dip or spread that’s all sorts of savory, sweet, slightly smoky, and just enough spicy. For sure he main course I had the KAWARMA which is slow roasted lamb • baharat, dill yogurt, cucumber & pomegranate salad. Beautiful restaurant, delicious food and amazing wait staff.
A unique & memorable meal!
I had the most incredible meal at Suraya last weekend and can’t stop thinking about it! Reservations are hard to get and I totally see why - I’m glad my friend and I were able to snag a seat at the bar. We split a few dishes (the muhammara, fatteh, and the prawns) and each one was better than the last. The homemade pita is 10/10 and our server recommended two excellent wines that were unique to Lebanon. The decor and atmosphere are just as great as the food and I can’t wait to come back!

This restaurant has been top-rated in Philly for a while, and for good reason. Great food, great tastes, and great vibes. You walk in, and immediately there is a small marketplace you can buy various items including candles! It can get very busy, but if you book ahead of time, it should be manageable. The food is definitely the star of the restaurant as everything was delicious. Definitely would try different appetizers and the kabobs were all seasoned well! Vibe can be intimate at certain parts of the restaurant, or trendy the rest,

We had a big group visiting this restaurant for the first time. Please note that on Friday and Saturday is prex fixe only. For the tasting menu, you already get a lot of the cold mezza dishes, but you can select one more mezza dish per person and mashawi (main dish) per person. We had 5 people, so we tried most dishes. You get fresh hot pita in a paper bag and can always ask the waiter for me. Mezzas: - samke nayyeh yellowtail - 9/10 fresh fish with delicious citrus notes - fatteh - 10/10 super addicting, loved the crispy bites of pita inside the dish - makanek - 3/10 sausage had a unique muted flavor, it was okay to try once but I wouldn't order this again - muhammara - 8/10 loves the pomegranate mixed in this dish, super good with pita - baba ganoush - 8/10 delicious well-seasoned eggplant appetizer Mashawi: - djej meshwi - 5/10 chicken dish, kinda dry - samke al malouf - 7/10 favorite mashawi dish - kafta and halabi kebabs were great basics to order for the table Desserts: - chef's special so we didnt choose, but each dish was very delicious. Our favorite was the mozzarella with filo pastry with a sweet crust. Drinks: - the enchanted forest - 6/10 thirst quenching but also felt like it tasted like soap or hand sanitizer because of the thyme - melody in the night - 5/10 just got this to try the clarified milk, unique taste - the farewell - an old fashioned, a friend got it but I didnt try it. They really like it and ordered a second glass.

This is one of my favorite places to order lamb.
Definitely recommend making reservations in advance as this is one of the more popular neighborhood restaurants in Fishtown, but it is 200% worth the hype. The garden area is beautiful, but only open during the warmer weather months.

You know you're in for a treat when your server describes the menu as a journey, the food changing and playful. Amazing appetizers and mains. Had the babaganoush (pictured) -- seasoned well with bits of pomegranate it was the perfect complement to freshly baked and bagged pita. Then the sumac driest. Twice fried I suppose with a dusting of sumac and garlic sauce. The fattoush had crispy but thin pita throughout; and a lemony dressing but for the cost was a bit small. The cauliflower was the hit. Sitting on a bed of tahini? Crispy but different in that it was topped with chili peppers. 4 apps and I was full with the party of three but glad to have tried the lamb kabobs served w their side hummus and veggies. A beautiful spot, we were thankful for the resy reservation and despite the trek to fish town I was glad to impress my friends.

As we are knocking off the top restaurants according to Philadelphia magazine, we hit #2 on the list. We stopped in for the Sunday brunch and seats at the bar to avoid the 20 to 30 minute wait for a table. Selection is limited and service was slow due to the crowds. Food was very good and you could fill up just on the pita bread and dipping options. Very good food. Great dessert selection. I would just recommend avoiding the brunch session.
Suraya is an upscale Lebanese-inspired restaurant.
Ever been to NYC or DC? If so, think ilili. Is Suraya an authentic family style Lebanese food restaurant? No. Is it worth the trip? No doubt about it. We sat at the chef's table and it was a great choice. My friend and I ordered the kawarma, which was amazing. An absolute must try. Crispy on the outside, very soft on the inside. Kawarma is usually Lebanese minced lamb confit, so this was an interesting take on the traditional recipe. We also had the chicken and fattouch. Of course we had Lebanese wine. I wish I tried the hummus and dessert (kanafeh) but we were so full.
Excellent birthday celebration!
Great food, extremely professional service and good drinks made for a great night. We all ordered the special with multiple apps, first courses and mains, and every bite was wonderful, with the one small exception that the two of us who ordered the roasted lamb main were a bit disappointed. Every other dish was just great. We loved it and will definitely be back!

Let's start with the best- SERVICE! Tracy is awesome! The food- the Oyster Mushroom kababs- amazing! The Shrimp and the kebabs- meh Overall- over priced and overhyped. We had eaten at another small lebanese place around the corner a few days before, where the food was incredible.
Amazing Mediterranean food in FISHTOWN.
We came here on a Monday night without reservations and we were lucky to get a beautiful spot outside . The restaurant is large and tastefully decorated. The cuisine is high end Mediterranean. We tried some new dishes and they were all delicious. Our wait staff was on point . A great experience and well worth the trip to FISHTOWN, just make sure and have a reservation.

Best place for lunch or dinner - the lamb kebabs and fatteh are amazing! The service is also top notch, you feel taken care of and they make accommodations for everything!

We didn’t have a reservation, I didn’t think it would be crowded on a Wednesday night. I was wrong. However, you can order appetizers in their lounge and we ordered almost all of them. So good! Next time we are in the area, I will make sure to reserve. Fun drinks and food. Great service!

Suraya is a beautifully decorated restaurant with delicious and authentic Middle Eastern dishes. Our Fathers Day family brunch was perfect. From appetizers to entrees and freshly served coffees, the meal was so good. Great service too. Definitely a gem and must try spot!!!

Suraya impressed me from the moment I walked into its cozy, chic foyer, to the second I took the last bite of their decadent chocolate croissant. We made a reservation for 2 the day before via Resy and had no issues finding a table for brunch time. We were seated immediately upon arrival, and the open-kitchen concept complimented the vibrant ambiance and decor of the restaurant. On Saturdays and Sundays for brunch, they offer a tasting menu with an assortment of dips/sides, and your choice of entree for $37 per person. The dips included hummous, baba ganoush, labneh, muhammara, and taboulé and everything was phenomenal. The taboulé was especially bright and fresh, while the muhammara was savory and flavorful. The pomegranate complemented the flavor as well. I had the samke harra and wow, the fish was beautifully tender with a lovely spicy sauce. My friend had the halabi kebab and the seasoning was perfect, wouldn't change a thing. Drinks were also great, the Lebanese chai latte was one of the best I've had. I wish I didn't live so far, because I've been to a ton of Lebanese spots in NYC that were also great, but never wow'ed me like this. Until next time!

We had made a reservation and were seated promptly. Our waitress was wonderful. Clearly explained the menu and gave great recommendations. The food and drinks came out as they were ready and we had a great time. The decor was stunning and I would love to come back to try other lunch and dinner items.

Such a gem in Fishtown! Suraya is perfect for a dinner for two or a large group. The interior is gorgeous and so is their large back patio during warmer months. My favorite dishes on their menu are the baba ganoush, raw yellowtail, branzino, and kawarma slow roasted lamb. Suraya is the place most of my friends visiting Philly ask to try and for good reason!

Came here for a mid week and mid day lunch with a mommy friend, since we had some time on our calendars to catch up. This was the perfect spot for a lunch and catch up so we made reservations the morning of.Well it is a beautiful open space restaurant with beautiful contemporary modern decorations with a Mediterranean vibe. The staff was upbeat and friendly, while more than willing to help make food selections. I settled in for the Djej Meshwi and we shared the Ful Mudammas, I would say the food was okay, not exceptional as I expected a 4.5 star place to be. The Mezze was too saltly and my sandwich was just a sandwich with no frills. I guess the best food experience is during their dinners, I would have to come back and try then.

I highly recommend doing the group option too because you get to try so much! The cheese dessert is the most unique delicious thing !! The fried cauliflower is so good! The hummus is amazing. I mean really everything is. We tried almost every appetizer! Can't complain at all! And our server was so fun and knowledgeable and put up with our antics and questions!! I would eat here every time I came to Philly if I were you!

Wow! Suraya impressed us all! From the chic colorful decor to the fantastic spread of hummus and labneh, we loved the experience. On Fridays and Saturdays, you have to do the tasting menu, which includes a hummus, baba ganoush, labneh, muhammara and taboule. It also includes an additional appetizer, a main course and dessert. It's $75. The dips and pita were outstanding. Everything was so fresh and full of flavor. My favorite appetizer was the fatteh (warm chickpeas). It was a very unique dish with lots of texture. The kawarma was unreal! The best lamb I've ever had! The meat was just melts in your mouth. It was so amazing. I would highly recommend this dish. The desserts are different than traditional desserts. You can enjoy fried, crispy, sweet cheese. The banana dessert was too sweet in my opinion. Honestly, we were too stuffed to truly enjoy dessert. There is just so much food!!The service was good overall. Our server got busier towards the end and was MIA for a bit while we were waiting for our check. Otherwise, no complaints!I would definitely recommend dining at Suraya. The food was so incredible.
Wonderful Food but with Some Annoyances
Great food, unique presentation, great atmosphere. Several small annoyances: server brought check without asking if we were ready for it. We weren’t, we were still drinking our wine. That says “please hurry up and leave.” A second small annoyance was the $2.00 additional charge for one of the dishes included in the mandatory $75 fixed price dinner weekend menu. Third was the additional 3% added into the bill to provide benefits for the kitchen staff. (Great idea to pay them a living wage with benefits. But it might be better to build it into the menu prices like every other restaurant.) Fourth, the dessert was Chef’s choice, which means you may get things you don’t like, the waitress didn’t ask, and we did get a dessert we don’t prefer. Last, $15 to park in their lot.

This was one of the best meals I’ve ever had. Every dish we had was delicious. We shared a variety of mezzas and main dishes, and it was a fun experience. Service was outstanding and the restaurant was beautiful. Highly recommend.
Anniversary Lunch
Went to celebrate with our kids for lunch at Suraya. Kourtney K was our server. We had a 1:30 reservation and were seated at 1:45pm,. There were 6 of us. We ordered appetizers and drinks after waiting for our server. She told us that it was a fluid kitchen and when items came up they would be served. That was fine. My husband doesn't eat pita bread and asked for vegetables with the hummus and the baba gahnoush. Other items came.. no vegetables. When the vegetables came, we asked for more dips and we were told the kitchen was closed and there was nothing more we could order. Just like that.. like literally just like that. It was 2:15pm. Kourtney became very snippy with us when we asked to get another drink. Only coffee was available. Why have a last seating when everything closes? The cash register was still open. Other people were there and were being served. How is this restaurant rated so highly when the service is so poor. Service was so poor that I even had to serve the table water.

* Peter can now talk to ImmortalStep65 for any questions Peter may have as ImmortalStep65 user fills the bid.
3.) Finding the Reservation
* ImmortalStep65 now uses their connections at Suraya Restaurant Philadelphia to secure the table.
* If they successfully get the 6 PM table for four, Peter receives a confirmation that the reservation has been secured.
* If ImmortalStep65 fails to secure the reservation, the bid is returned to the pool so another user can try.
4.) Payment & Protection
