Filet is amazing along with their crab.
Very nice place and in a really fun place for night life after dinner. Inside is upper class with very friendly staff.

My wife and I celebrated our anniversary here and from the valet to the host staff, to the waiter's, to the personal hand written note from the GM, the service was excellent. The ambiance is fantastic with different drinking/dining options at one of the two bars, the many tables or in our case the private booth tucked away in the back of the restaurant. The food was excellent and well portioned, offering both seafood and of course steaks from Steak44. The special of the day was a striped bass with king crab chunks on top, it was delicious!
For the first time in a very long time, a premiere
For the first time in a very long time, a premiere restaurant in Scottsdale lived up the the hype. TL;DR, the food, service, and ambiance all exceeded expectations. Over the past couple of years, my wife and I have been repeatedly disappointed by the food, service, and/or ambiance of so-called high end dining establishments in Scottsdale. From Ruth Christs genuinely awful food, to Talavera's rundown appearance and again, awful food, to Pomodoro (same problems), etc., we had almost given up on the high end dining scene in Scottsdale. The steakhouses in Scottsdale are so similar you could plop me down blindfolded in any of them and I could recite the menu. Last night was basically our final attempt and we went all out. It was our anniversary and we decided to full on splurge and hit up Oceans 44. Upon arrival, we were immediately greeted and seated at a lovely and quite private booth overlooking the kitchen. It was quiet so that we and our guests could actually have a normal conversation. Simply put, the ambiance reeked of high quality and attention to detail. The service more than equalled the ambiance. Our waitress was thoroughly versed in the entire menu and seemed equally comfortable with the wine list (that's a bit unusual in a place where they have a full time sommelier). The entire wait staff was highly attentive without ever seeming intrusive. I never saw an empty water, wine or cocktail glass. Between courses, our table was cleaned and straightened and appropriate flatware was provided for the next course. They got all the small things just right. They also got the big things right. The food was simply marvelous. Perfectly shucked west coast oysters, perfectly seasoned and cooked fillets, delicious sauteed spinach, light and tasty truffled gnocchi, and finally, coffee gelato and caramel cake to die for. At this price point, it's hard to say whether this is a good value proposition but the meal was truly exceptional in every way. For a splurge evening, have at it.

If you have an occasion to indulge, this is definitely the place. The decor is beautiful, the service wonderful, and the food is absolutely to die for. My husband and I shared a filet and the 2 lobster tails plate. We also enjoyed sides of mashed praline sweet potatoes and loaded baked potato. They serve a TDF Espresso Martini. We enjoyed the Jar Smore for dessert.
Dinner Not Worth $250…
2nd time there celebrating our anniversary. Great ambiance, but tried to seat us in middle of room/aisle with more private table nearby. Upon request, did change table. Server was late with courses. Not excessively, but just enough so we noticed it. Was a Saturday and could see he was very busy. My filet was tough and my lobster was oddly tasteless. Shared with my wife and she agreed. Her filet was perfect. Luck of the draw I guess. My shrimp cocktail was excellent. Spend March in Phoenix area every year so celebrate anniversary there. But, gonna skip Ocean next time. Not worth the $250 price tag.
Amazing seafood and steak.
My wife who is adventuring into seafood was amazed by thier Chilean Sea Bass. And my steak was way better then what I have gotten at steak 44/48. Sides and appetizers were great as well our waitress was even nice enough to get us some free strip because we liked it on top of the deviled eggs so much.

Easton was our server and he made our dinner and evening very special, took excellent care of our young daughters. Food and drinks are phenomenal and the service makes it the kind of place you want to hang out at all night.
Easton was the best service I have ever received.
I will be back just for him. On top of excellent food the service was above amazing. Thank you for an amazing first experience!!
Excellent food, service, and atmosphere.
Highly recommend if you want a sure fire meal and don't mind spending some money for it.
You get what you pay for.
Except Service. Delicious Fresh Seafood. Not inexpensive . Busy place. Lots of energy.
Service was amazing but I felt like the food lacked flavor.
I ordered the Chilean Sea Bass with King Crab enhancement and I was just missing a lot of flavor so I was bummed in that aspect. The margaritas were great but I was very disappointed in my main dish.

10 stars out of 5.
Great service; everyone seemed to work together in a gliding motion across the floor. All servers, bussers, and everyone else on the floor was kind, funny, and helpful. Our waitress was SO knowledgeable about every item on the menu, even when it came down to comparing different types of fish. If you take the time to walk by the glass, you'll see how many people are working together in the kitchen, to create your amazing food. My Chilean sea bass was phenomenal. It's served w a grilled lemon and the side. When I used it, it changed the experience and flavor. Unreal. The entire evening was one for the books. I plan on coming back and telling many of my friends and family to come enjoy Ocean 44 as well. Thank you for such a fantastic diner!
Consistent quality with food, staff, & restaurant setting.
Love the food and the food quality, love the "steak house feel" of this special restaurant, wonderful staff and service, always busy and can see why! LOVE this place and recommend highly.
We could not have been happier with our choice to dine here.
The ambience, cocktails, and food were all phenomenal! Our server Hannah S. was the absolute best and made our first experience here so enjoyable!! She is extremely knowledgeable, helpful, and beyond friendly. All of her appetizer, drink, and food recommendations were spot on! We'd highly recommend the crispy shrimp appetizer, Chilean sea bass, scallops, and mushroom topper. And the martinis were fantastic. Finally, her recommendation for dessert and substituting the ice cream flavor was perfect...and look how it came out! Thanks again Hannah for a wonderful experience.

I have been dying to try out Ocean 44 and I popped in on a Sunday night with no reservation. The host team was able to accommodate my party of two in the high top cocktail lounge. Eliana was our server and she was spectacular. This was my first time visiting Ocean and she gave us lots of recommendations. She first started with wine, cocktails then appetizers. I went with the strawberry rhubarb cocktail she recommended which was a great starter. We also ordered with a dozen oysters which even though were a little small, were very flavorful. For dinner we ordered the bone in filet ($76) cooked medium rare, mushrooms and mac and cheese. The steak also came out on a very hot plate which was cooked to perfection and was also sliced so that we could split it. After dinner, I ordered the California citrus cocktail recommended by our server and it was very flavorful. We wanted to finish with dessert but were way too full. Eliana brought out a complimentary cookie for us which was delicious. I will definitely be coming back to try more of the seafood options. The food was very tasty, I enjoyed the mac and cheese the most. Our service was excellent, Eliana was very attentive and knowledgeable with the menu. If you go here ask for her she is amazing!

If you watch my page and know that this is one of my favorite restaurants as always, everything was great. Our service was A-1 as always. We had a reservation at five. They said it exactly at five in great seats. Great atmosphere great music. They do have a lot of new items on the menu to choose from they also did take a couple of my favorites off for the season and I hope they're coming back soon such as the short rib, macaroni, and cheese, which if I had a vote ( which I don't ) it would never ever ever ever come off the menu but the new shells and cheese were pretty good as well. You can never go wrong with visiting here. I had the butchers cut. It was perfect. It melted in my mouth as always, never disappointed. Thanks for always being consistent. Food 5/5 Service 5/5 Management 5/5 Atmosphere 5/5 Parking 5/5 Location 5/5 Return Factor- ABSOLUTELY
Great aesthetic here.
The dining area is well decorated and you can view all the seafood and preparation when you walk in. We shared crispy shrimp and the lobster escargot for appetizers. The lobster escargot was my favorite thing here. I had the tuna for my entree and loved it. It was perfectly cooked. My husband ordered a steak here and devoured it. They also let you select the free dessert you would like for your birthday. Would definitely come back!
Beautiful interior! I was in love with how they decorated
Beautiful interior! I was in love with how they decorated the place and it was very spacious. Definitely a place to go for celebrations, date nights, or a treat your self. They start off with complimentary bread. The bread was flaky and delicious. We got the NY Strip 16 oz. We asked them to split it and it doesn't look big when it arrived, but it was very filling. The plates come hot so you can cut the piece of meat and heat it up on the plate if the meat is too rare. The sides are shareable portions. We got the Chef's Siegfried's Au Gratin Potatoes. It was very tasty, but heavy so definitely shareable with the table so that everyone can try it. The superfood salad was refreshing with the fruits and the champagne fig dressing. Service was great. The only issue we had was someone in our party got the mussels and it was sadly not good at all. There were lots of small shells. It's not very appetizing to be biting into the mussels and you just see all these small shells. The taste was off too. It seems overcooked or not much effort was put into it. I will definitely recommend the steaks here!

Lives up to -most of the- High Expectations There aren't many restaurants that compete at the highest, most premium level. The 44 brand is certainly one to go to for special occasions. They're almost always busy during evenings, with folks coming from all over to celebrate. The food is on point and the steak is absolutely fire. However, seafood appears hit or miss and was well below expectations for a premium restaurant. The good: Service was great and very attentive. I noticed that they kept everyone well hydrated and were frequently replenishing alcohol and water. They were quick to offer extra utensils and plates, when needed. The steak is their speciality and medium rare was cooked to perfection. The bad: Despite holding the Ocean, seafood speciality, our friend received a mussle dish that was way over cooked. The meat was chewy and the shells were brittle. Small pieces were broken and made a simple dish indedible. The server & kitchen were willing to make things right, but waiting an additional half an hour for the main course, it's past recovering unfortunately. The Order: 5/5 Superfood salad 5/5, sizable and good enough to share between two 5/5 NY Strip 16 oz - about a 2.5 in thick cut about the size of my palm 4/5 Au Gratin Potatoes - very good scalloped potatoes, but perhaps overflowing with too much cheese Nonetheless, the restaurant experience was and I definitely see myself returning for special occasions.
The service received was sub-par.
The waiter Josh was not friendly and made sarcastic remarks throughout the evening. I was celebrating my birthday and instantly regretted choosing this establishment based on the service provided. The house manager did inquire on the experience which we were grateful for. The food was very tasty as well.
This place was amazing! The food was delicious the servers
This place was amazing! The food was delicious the servers were great, happy and welcoming. I gave them 5 stars. The Ambiance was wonderful .
The "go to" place for special occasions.
What a great fine dining experience. From the time you arrive until you leave they make you feel special. Service off the chart, everyone we came in contact and you do come in contact with many were fabulous. Excellent wine and cocktail list, many food choices from appetizers down to the desert list.
Bait and Switch
The food was excellent, the service okay. We tried this restaurant because there was a promotion through InKind. However, when we tried to get the $50 credit we were told that their "systems were down" and they were unable to honor the deal. Didn't even offer a free dessert or drink.
Finest Restaurant Experience in Scottsdale
Ocean 44 is one of the finest restaurants in Scottsdale in so many ways. I say "one of" because Dominick's is part of the same group and equally excellent. The service is the finest I have ever experienced. The menu is incredibly varied and I appreciate the offer to a group to order a few entrees and share. The shrimp deviled eggs are enough to lure me back but the various appetizers and entrees are phenomenal. Drinks and wine are nice large pours. I have been there three times and I will go back in a heartbeat.
Loved it!
This place is fabulous. Wonderful atmosphere, updated, dimly lit and not so loud you’re screaming to talk. The menu is great. We had the Oysters Rockefeller, Oysters au Gratin, scallops gnocchi, lobster rolls and their vanilla cake. Everything was great. Think Eddie V’s and Ocean Prime but better. Service is flawless.
Exceptional!
Exceptional! Food was great, service was great. Too bad we don't have great places like this where we live. We recommend the Ahi/Himachi Tare Tare. Outstanding.
This is not it!!!
I’ll start by saying my wife and I got sick from eating the fish here. Party of 3 (2 adults, one teen) chose the celebrate anniversary at this place. Adults ordered mussels, Alaskan and Chilean fish while the teen ordered a steak. Side dishes were mushrooms and Brussels sprouts. The fish was bad, really bad. Funny enough a previous reviewer mentions Costco like taste. Alaska fish tasted exactly like Costco ready to cook fish and I even mentioned to my wife when we started eating. Chilean fish was grossly under-cooked. Brussels sprouts were very bad, not cooked well either. Price was $300 with tip. Not a lot but the quality was subpar. 30 minutes after we left the restaurant, both adults had really upset stomach. The only one that didn’t have fish but had everything else we ordered was the only one that was not sick (teen). Through the process of elimination, we figured it had to be the fish. Servers were very amiable, nice ambiance, nice location but awful food. Being Monday I’m wondering if they had a new cook or someone that has no idea how to cook. If you are looking for something special, this is not it. If you are looking for good food, this is not it.
Surprisingly marginal
Honestly pretty disappointing. We eat at Steak 44 fairly often so we assumed Ocean 44 would be the same caliber of food and service and it really just wasn’t. Our server sped through the menu like he had the script on speed dial, and the various servers who dropped off drinks and different courses all but threw them on the table— if I hadn’t been quickly moving things out of the way, salad plates would’ve just been set on top of utensils. Speaking of servers, the sheer amount of staff trying to maneuver around the incredibly crowded restaurant floor was insane. Any ambiance was murdered by the constant presence of 12 dudes milling around my table with brown trays constantly. I understand they have to run food and bus tables but at a restaurant of this tier it needs to be more efficient and effective. The food was another issue: our party of four ordered three steaks and some crab legs. The steaks were all crazy thin, like remarkably thin. So thin that my medium-rare bone-in ribeye was cooked to well done on the hot plate before I could eat a quarter of it. Ultimately our meal was around $800 and walking out we were literally all confused about how the hell it was so marginal. If you’re looking for a premium dining experience, hit up Steak 44 or Dominick’s. Bourbon and Bones is another good one. Skip Ocean 44.
A Wonderful Dining Experience
Impressive restaurant with an expansive menu. Great drinks in addition to the food. Service was better than average. Highly recommended.
Excellent Five Star meal
I've been to several other Maestros locations so was excited to see this one. We sat in the atrium which was very nice with a booth one one side and chair on the other side of the table. If you want a full booth, they are available in the back room. Both service and food was excellent. Strange but nice - the bathrooms are all individual. You will not find a nicer place to eat in the city.
Super expensive
Very expensive for what you get They don’t care about the dress code even they ask you on their website An espresso Martini in 26 usd , more expensive than Manhattan, Miami Beach and Maui ! And is not good ! They serve them better at AZ88 in here .
Very very good. Same as Steak 44.
10/10 amazing, same as Steak 44 just more seafood options. Different atmosphere, more modern. Highly recommend.
THE BEST RESTAURANT EVER
This is our second trip to Ocean 44 in Scottsdale. We literally made this trip just to eat here. We had such a great experience last time and the food was just spectacular. This trip was just the same. Lindsey our waitress was so entertaining and knowledgable about the menu. We were celebrating our 35 anniversaries (two couples). We had the most amazing dinners and desserts. The Waygu and Filet were absolutely the best we have ever eated. The shared sides as well. Our dinner drinks were SO GOOD. Desserts were the best. The dining experience here is the BEST. This restaurant will never disappoint. Dine here, you will not regret it.
Still one of my favorite restaurants after all these years.
One of my favorite places to go for special occasions. The decor inside reminds me of a swanky jazz club. The-seafood is always delicious and melts in your mouth. I love the main lobster escargot and the Maryland style crab cake was so good. The service is always impeccable and you're ever left for wanting anything. I will definitely be back again in the future.
Great food and service
This was a great experience. All food was cooked to perfection. I had scallops, and they were the best I have ever had. Sally was our server at the bar and she was wonderful. Get the key lime pie for dessert--you won't regret it! The restaurant itself is beautiful. Make sure you make a reservation well in advance. Our reservation was at 5:30 and the place was already packed!
Hands down one of the best dine in experiences in
Hands down one of the best dine in experiences in Scottsdale, Arizona. We had ordered the Grass fed NY Strip. It was absolutely delicious, cooked perfectly to our preferred temperature (Medium), and didn't take an offensive amount of time to be brought out by the polite food runners. All staff in fact did an excellent job. They took the time to assure our night was impeccable. The restaurant is kept neat and clean. Shout out to not just the bussers, but all the servers and hosts for keeping the restaurant looking great! Great choice of music as well. The establishment has gender neutral restrooms, which we always appreciate. Overall, this is a 10/10 restaurant.
We had planned to celebrate our 30th anniversary here.
I reserved a table for 8:30 a week in advance, arrived a little early and of course valet parked. We checked in and were asked to give them a few moments for them to get our table ready. We stood in the entrance for 25 minutes watching as others were seated. We had enough of the waiting and let them know that we were leaving. Never to return.
This is our second time at Ocean 44.
The are so many great things about the restaurant. The fish is cooked perfectly, service is spot on and the ambiance is lovely- conducive to talking but not overly quiet and beautiful surroudings. We love the full glass wall to see the kitchen. Our most recent visit though made it not worth the price. Don't bother spending the extra $44 to add crab on top of your fish. You'll get less than a teaspoon that doesn't add much to the meal, but lot to the bill. Sadly, there are not a lot of choices for great fish in the Valley, but we'll keep looking.Interestingly, the restaurant called the following day to see how our meal was after dropping over $200 pp. I explained the issue with the crab on top of the fish and got a "good to know". Felt a bit flat and definitely didn't make me want to try again.
Great place for food and drinks.
The service is AMAZING. Burrata salad - was very fresh and refreshing.Calamari- average, was slightly salty for meCesar Salad- average Pacific Hamachi Yellowtail - delicious (ask for jalapenos on top for some spice)Peppered Ahi Tuna -awesome!Filet mignon- my personal favorite Caramel Cake - amazing, must get!

Received a call from Ocean 44 to gather detailed feedbacks as to what went wrong with the dish and how they can improve. I am appreciative of the gesture. Also received an invite to come back for another try with them which I will attempt to when I can though I was not expecting the invitation.

Went here on my anniversary and it was such a great experience and the food was really good. The ambience was nice as well! Our waiter was very mice and attentivThe valet driver even took our pics outside the building for us! We ordered a lot I don't remember the name of everything.
The service is excellent since the beginning I call to make
The service is excellent since the beginning I call to make the reservation they were very polite The food is amazing we love seafood so it was a delight to enjoy the oysters as fresh as they can be .the lobster also amazing the steaks perfect. The place is so cute and lovely but not overwhelming it feels warm and time flies without you noticing All the little details make the difference starting by the hot plates and the ending witb the warm lavender lil towels for cleaning after this is a place for that special event or person .
Oh my goodness, what an amazing night!! It's my birthday
Oh my goodness, what an amazing night!! It's my birthday and my husband made reservations here for our first time. Everything from walking in to ordering our first cocktail was so special. Everyone called us by name all night and the food was the best I've ever tasted in my life. Wow what an amazing birthday dinner at Ocean 44!! Thank you baby for spoiling me. Best service and food I've ever had. Amazing !

Amazing! Clams, salmon blackens and service! Our server was the nicest guy I'm sorry i didn't save his name. Came in the day before Valentine's sat near the window. Definitely make a reservation or you'll miss a chance to try it out.
Delicious class act
Attended a women’s luncheon and everything was amazing. I would recommend! Food was delicious and drinks were great! It’s in the middle of Fashion Square.
Elegant experience with great food and ambience.
I had the off menu striped bass with crab and it couldn’t have been any better. The portions are huge so I wish I had shared, but that’s my only complaint. The risotto was very rich and I highly recommend the scallop gnocchi… it’s a very interesting dish.
Very Expensive
The decor , service and overall ambiance was exceptional ,the food was mostly fair at best and way overpriced . Appetizers were good, main dishes heavily sauced and spiced and were disappointing.
Worth it!
Outstanding food, drinks, dessert- beignets and peanut butter pie! We sat in a booth enclosed in a curtain- very intimate. The bonus? They played the best music- from Maroon 5, Bruno Mars to Motown to BB King. Prices are indicative of the experience but worth every penny. Reservations in advance- they are often fully booked
